Future Wyatt and Chris hated that they needed to wake up their younger selves but they had a timeline to save and a magical problem to solve. "Look at how cute baby you is. He's so tiny and adorable!" Wyatt murmured to Chris, who rolled his eyes in fond annoyance.
"Yeah, you told me that last time."
"What, you didn't think baby me was adorable when you time traveled to save me?" Wyatt teasingly shot back.
"Wy, priorities," Chris hissed as he shook the three year old version of his brother awake.
Little Wyatt rubbed his eyes as he sat up. "Grandpa?" he blearily asked.
"Sorry, buddy, no," Wyatt responded with a grin. "I have something important to ask you, though."
Little Wyatt's gaze landed on big Chris and his face lit up into a wide grin. "Chris!" he whispered delightedly.
Both the adult versions did a double take. "You know who I am?" questioned a surprised and slightly confused Chris.
"I remember you," Little Wyatt confirmed.
"What the fuck?" the future version whispered under his breath. He shook his head. "We'll deal with that revelation later because we have more important things to worry about at the moment. Can you tell me if something happened to you recently to make you lose your powers?"
The three year looked terrified and guilty for a split second. "Some man came and got me yesterday."
"Some man? Who?" pressed a concerned Chris.
Little Wyatt shrugged. "I don't know. Some man. He was with Aunt Billie and Christy."
"Do you know anything else? Like what time?" big Wyatt urged hopefully but he wasn't surprised when his younger self could only tell them about the strange man.
"Well, thanks, Wy. We appreciate it. What do you remember about me?" questioned a curious future Chris.
"You were nice and played with me." He glanced down. "Daddy got really sad when you left. I miss him."
Chris winced. "Yeah, kiddo, I know. But he'll be back with you soon." At least they knew a bit of how this was going to play out thanks to the various stories their family told over the years, and that everything would work out. He high fived the three year old, who went back to sleep, and then followed his older brother out of the room. "The boys good?" Victor checked.
"Mostly," Wyatt responded. "Do you know when exactly little me disappeared yesterday?"
He nodded. "Around three in the afternoon yesterday, but that's all I know."
"A timeframe helps us at least. Thanks, Grandpa." Wyatt flashed him a smile, which Victor returned.
"We should probably head home now. You ready, Grandma?" Chris asked Patty, who looked gobsmacked at the title. She was getting a lot of information and surprises thrown at her today.
"I think I'm going to stay here for a little while, continue my conversation with your grandfather."
"Got it." Wyatt grabbed Chris' hand, glaring at his brother when he laughed, and the two of them orbed back to the manor.
Fortunately for them, the Ultimate Battle was soon fought and with everything fixed, they returned home. "So you actually remembered me at that age. Do you remember it now?" Chris checked, side-eying him.
Wyatt rolled his eyes. "Don't you think I would have mentioned it before? No, I don't remember it now. Wonder why." This was going to bother him until he figured out an answer, and he knew Chris felt the same.
"I'm sure we'll figure it out in time. We don't have to have all the answers now, Wy." Chris patted his shoulder before orbing out to meet up with Bianca for a date.
Wyatt and Chris would eventually figure everything out in due time.
