[Will Pov]
Will made his way out of the zeta tubes and into the batcave. The cold silver light gleaming in his face as soon as he steps out onto the platform.
"Alright Bossman, can you uncuff me now." Will said.
"Are you going to freak out like you did in there, I'm not certain I should yet." Batman said, his eyes narrowing.
"Nah, we good I'm away from the demon freak and whatever was going on back there got left back there Batman. I just wanna go see Tim, Barbara, and Alfred. I'm not sure they know I'm good man." Will said
"No they wouldn't know you are awake, much less walking around. We all thought you were going to be crippled for life." Bruce said
"What! How? Y'all seen me come back from falling off that building twice now." Will said
"Will, your healing factor failed you while you were unconscious and there was nothing the doctors could do." Batman said seriously with that permanent scowl etched onto his face.
"Really? Dang man, I guess I really do have to be able to wake up to really heal myself like that. Anyways, as long as I'm not forced into a permanent coma or directly have my heart stabbed or brain destroyed. I'm coming back. Count on it. Don't worry about something as silly as broken bones or something, it just hurts, but I will be able to put myself back together again, stronger than before." Will said nonchalantly
Batman's scowl cracked for a split second, and he pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance. "William, I think you should not practice your reforging technique for now until we can get whatever sort of evil entity inside of you under control."
"Wait really? You do know if I stop passively using it I'm gonna need to be in a wheelchair for a while. It's the only thing keeping the lower half of my body together right now. I'm not totally healed yet." Will said
Batman raised an eye at that, "So you fought Raven, with your hips still shattered?"
"Yeah man." Will replied
"Does the technique make the pain bearable?" Batman asked
"Nope, it makes it like a hundred times worse. Anyways let me out so I can go back to healing myself. I'm only able to hold my bones in place with my energy in these, if you can make some that can cut off my power entirely, that would be preferable." Will said as he shrugged his shoulders. His eyes shone with that strange red light.
Batman continued looking at him, with an expressionless face. "Alright then," he said.
Will watched him pull a key from his utility belt and quickly turned so he could get him out of the thick black shackles around his wrists. He heard them click, and as soon as they left his wrists Will's power exploded out around him denting the steel platform he stood on. The energy of the heavens funneled into him through the black tattoo on his head and his rage began to spike. He let out a loud roar, as demonic energy drilled into his bones healing and tempering them. Batman raised his arms to protect his face, to protect himself from the blast of energy and he was forced back a few steps. Will began leaking a huge amount of murderous intent, he felt powerful, stronger than ever, it was beyond anything he had felt previously even in the demonic realm. He began to laugh loudly, he felt amazing. This feeling of power and strength was addicting. He felt he could take on the entire world right now and he was only at 25% and his power was rising quickly. He quickly dropped to the floor and sat down cross-legged as he cultivated the technique. Several hours passed, and Will had finally reached 30% completion. He stood up, his body was totally healed, he looked around and Bruce was gone. Will knew he couldn't listen to Bruce. This feeling of power was far too addicting. He wondered if he would be able to beat Grundy now. Maybe he could, he thought, this increase in power was too drastic too quickly. He knew his progress would slow down from now on, this increase had to be from the branding of the Wrath tattoo on his right shoulder. He sighed; he had no idea the effects it would have on him. He was honestly pretty nervous about its effects; it hadn't even been 24 hours and he already lost control once. Will stood up and popping sounds rang out.
Will calmly walked to the elevator, he could feel a cold rage simmering below the surface, he wanted violence he needed to go out and fight. He didn't care much for whatever bullshit the bat people wanted to say or any of that nonsense. He knew something within him was changing, he didn't know how it would affect him yet. There had to be someone he could work with to help him control himself. He was nervous but, at the same time, felt almost drunk with power. He needed more. He craved more.
"Batman and his fucking rules. I want to practice the technique more I need more." He said aloud in the elevator, burning with hatred. He swore to himself one of these days he would fuck up Dick as well, he just added him to the list of motherfuckers who crossed him. Will's eyes continued to burn with that bright red light. They hadn't returned to normal since he broke the chain back in the Watchtower. The elevator rose, and he stepped out into the manor, still clad in only his underwear. The raw red color around his new tattoo had yet to fade, he figured it would go down eventually. He walked out into the living room and saw Tim sitting there doing his homework. Will watched him coldly.
"Hey, did you manage to salvage my phone?" Will asked.
Tim looked over with a shocked expression on his face.
"Will, you are okay, but how?" Tim exclaimed as he shot up and hugged Will. When he did that, Will returned the hug, and he suddenly felt a little bit less angry.
Will cracked a bit of a smile, "Uh yeah, man I'm fine. As long as I don't die, I'm probably going to be straight brother."
"Man, it's good to see you." Tim said.
"Yeah, you too, man. Glad to be back, ready to suit up man." Will said.
Tim paused a second, then looked him up and down, "Will, why are your eyes still red?" Tim asked
"I dunno, I don't think they will ever go back to normal again man. I think they are just like this now." Will said
"Wait, for real?" Tim said with a confused expression on his face.
"Yeah, I think so. I'm not sure, though. They are too striking. I need to find some way to hide them." Will said nonchalantly.
"Yeah, I suppose you do. Look, things have been bad since you left. War is getting very close to erupting on the streets of Gotham. Joker and his goons have been completely off the radar. Nobody knows what they are planning, they just pop up and steal more and more chemicals then return to whatever hidey-hole they came from. Black Mask and the Falcone family have been putting a lot of pressure on Penguin, and goons have been going up to the school hassling students looking for you." Tim said seriously.
When he said that, Will was furious, and murderous intent began leaking out of him. "You are joking they have not been going up to the fucking school."
"No, they have. The school is not happy about it, man. I'm not sure what they are going to do." Tim said nervously.
"I'm gonna fucking go nuts, dude. I'm actually going to go fucking nuts. Whoever they are, they fucked up." Will said seriously.
"I need to calm down. I'll talk to you in a bit. If you could run and grab my phone, that would be super dope man." Will said, trying to calm down.
Will walked up the stairs, taking deep breaths, trying to calm himself. Nothing was working.
"Grahhhh" He screamed, "What the fuck! I can't handle this shit, man!" he thought to himself.
Will passed by Barbara's room and was going to walk right past it but stopped. Then he was overcome with a feeling of guilt. "I lost control that night, and she got hurt because of my stupidity." Will thought as he ran his fingers through his hair and sighed.
He knocked on the door and heard that melodious, "Come in Alfred." She said.
Will suddenly forgot about whatever he was carrying around with him and left it at the door. Whatever he had been feeling, as soon as he heard her voice, he wasn't as angry anymore. He opened the door with a bright smile. When Will saw her, he remembered how beautiful she was, even though she was injured, she was still as beautiful as ever to him. Her eyes went wide as soon as she saw him, and she shot straight up in her bed.
"Thank God you are okay." She said.
When she said that Will once again felt like he had done something wrong, like he had done something that couldn't be forgiven. It was uncomfortable and worse than last time. He quickly shoved it down and continued smiling.
"Oh, you missed me that much huh?" Will asked smugly.
She bit her lip and averted her gaze from him, "Um, is it weird if I say yes." She said.
"It's okay I missed you too." he said.
"You missed me? You've been unconscious forever." She said with a skeptical look on her face.
"Oh yeah, right, I was unconscious." Will thought to himself, remembering his time in the Demon's realm.
Will just smiled and watched her for a bit. He didn't say anything more.
"You know, when you look at me with your eyes red like that, it's kind of scary." She said twirling her bright red hair in her fingers nervously, with her good arm.
"Sorry, I can't help it, I guess. They won't go back to normal." He said exasperatedly.
He was already tired of explaining this to people.
"Why, you don't like it? Are they ugly or something?" Will said and faked an expression of concern.
"N-no it's not like that. They look handsome, I guess, they are just kind of scary is all they make you seem much colder and more dangerous." She said in an embarrassed tone.
Will smirked, "So I'm handsome now, huh? I guess I finally made the cut."
She snorted and rolled her eyes when he said that.
"What the hell happened to your arm?" Barbara asked.
"Ugh don't ask, the Justice League is what happened." Will said.
"The hell happened while you were away?" She asked confused.
"I suppose I can tell you what happened after I woke up and what happened to my arm. It probably won't be a secret much longer. Dick is probably going to come here and try to fight me or something." Will said, waving his hand in the air nonchalantly.
He wouldn't tell her what happened in the demon's realm, but he could tell her the rest of the story.
So, he sat down in the chair he always sat in when he was with Barbara and began to recount his tale of being in the Justice League's Watchtower.
[Lex Luthor Pov]
[Metropolis]
Lex sat on a chair in a large corporate building across from a man who was standing in bright orange and black armor. He had white hair and an eyepatch on his face.
"You are one of the best, how could you allow yourself to be arrested like that, it's simply humiliating." Lex said in a deep voice.
"Indeed, I was not expecting the boy to catch me off guard. I was careless." Slade said.
"You sound as if you know this boy? Do you know who he is? He came out of nowhere and I've been hearing good things about him from my sources in Gotham. If I can get him to work for me, he would be most useful." Luthor said.
"I do know him; he was once my apprentice, after all." Slade said menacingly.
"Oh? Why the falling out, I would like to know so I can manipulate him when he comes to me." Lex said.
"The boy isn't ruthless enough; he isn't worth your time." Slade said seriously.
"Tell me…. Now." Luthor said in a dangerous tone.
"Our falling out happened because of my foolish daughter. He claims that they "Fell in Love" or whatever silly nonsense he thought, and it was affecting our missions. So, I ended it, he wouldn't kill my daughter, so I had her try to kill him. The boy is good, I'll give him that. He survived Ravager's attack and fled. I recently reunited with him when we fell off that building together." Slade said.
"Do you think we could use Ravager to control the boy?" Luthor asked.
"I'm not sure anymore, possibly." Slade said.
"It doesn't hurt to try; your daughter just became a whole lot more useful to me Slade." Lex said.
"Do you wish for me to contact him?" Slade asked.
"Hold off for a bit, I want to gather more information on him first, but I have only been hearing good things." Lex said.
"He hasn't killed anyone since he left me, you know." Slade said seriously.
"A small matter that can easily be corrected. He's not Batman after all." Luthor said waving away Slade.
"Leave me now and be glad I decided to get you out of prison. You are useful to our operation…for now." Luthor said.
"Alright, I shall take my leave then." Slade said.
Slade left the room leaving Luthor alone in his chair staring out the large glass windows of his Lexcorp skyscraper.
"Soon, it seems I shall have a new pawn on the board." Lex said aloud to himself.
