The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "I don't want to talk about it."

"But you LOVE telling people how brilliant you are. At length."

Yin could tell that something was a bit off when Jacoba walked through the door from her latest trip around the city with Gunnar's wallet. The martial artist smirked as he thought about the tumultuous "relationship" between his partner and the young woman who knew just how to rile said partner up, mostly by taking his wallet. Yet, unlike when she returned most days, Jacoba seemed more subdued and uncomfortable than usual. Before he could approach her to ask, Yin saw Gunnar walk to the front of Tool's Tattoo Shop.

"There you are. Where's my wallet, little miss pickpocket?"

Jacoba didn't even glare at the normal exchange. Instead, she just tossed his wallet and muttered something as she kept walking towards the backroom. Yin caught a glimpse of what looked like concern flash over his partner's face. Filing the expression away, Yin watched as his giant partner gently grasped the woman he didn't have feelings for by the arm and turned her back towards him. Gunnar looked right into Jacoba's eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"

She scoffed and looked away from him. "I don't want to talk about it."

Yin knew his partner well enough to know that something snarky would come out of his moth shortly. And Gunnar didn't disappoint. "Oh really? But you LOVE telling people how brilliant you are. At length."

Jacoba's eyes narrowed. "Yeah right. You are confusing yourself with me, genius." Yin rolled his eyes as she began to walk away and Gunnar shook his head, sharing a look with his partner that he just noticed at the back of the room. Then Jacoba surprised both men. She turned around, walked back to Gunnar and kissed his cheek. "Thanks for asking though, Gunnar." With that, she turned around and went up to her room as Yin walked over to his partner.

"She call you by your name."

Gunnar clapped his partner on his shoulder with a goofy smile on his face. "That she did, Happy Feet. That she did." He chose to ignore Yin's glare as he walked back to the backroom.
