The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "Shut up."
"I didn't say anything."
"Don't care. Shut up."
It had been an extremely long and pretty bad day. Jacoba had just come back to the tattoo shop from another failed date that Lacey had set up for her. All the dates that Lacey had made for her, in fact, had bombed, and she knew the reason why. For all her talk about not having feelings for Gunnar, Jacoba couldn't find another man that could stack up, in her mind at least, to the tall Swede. All she wanted to do now was head up to her room, change, and read one of her latest book acquisitions (courtesy of Gunnar's credit card, of course).
Her master plan was thwarted upon seeing Lee and Lacey by her desk in the backroom, talking with Gunnar, who was sitting in her chair with his feet up on the desk. Rolling her eyes, Jacoba mentally calculated the best route for her to get to the stairs quickly and with the least amount of fuss. Taking a breath and steeling herself for what was to come, Jacoba stood straight and walked as quickly as she could. She was over halfway to the stairs when she heard, "Jacoba?"
Sighing, Jacoba turned to the group, looking straight at Lacey so as to not get distracted by Gunnar. "Lacey, can we not? I just want to go to my room and not think about another failed date because the idiot is too self-absorbed to even consider being with a tall woman. I'm done with this, Lace, so no more."
As she turned back around, she chanced a glance at Gunnar. He looked both pensive and seemed to be wanting to hurt someone, if his facial expression was anything to go by. She just shook her head and headed up the stairs. Just before she was out of sight, she stopped and turned slightly. "Oh, and Lee?"
Said man looked up at her, rather perplexed. "Yea, J.D.?"
"Shut up."
His eyes got wide. "But I didn't say anything!"
Jacoba smirked. "Don't care. Shut up."
Gunnar's guffaws and Lacey's tinkling laugh followed her all the way up to her room before she closed her door. She would have to ask Lacey if Lee's face made him look like a fish out of water. And here she thought it had possibly been a bad day.
