The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Prompt: "You're one insult away from starting a war."
Jacoba knew she was growling. She really couldn't help it. It always seemed to be Gunnar that got to her, especially when she was trying to get some work done to help Tool.
Today had started out no different. She had grabbed all of the old paperwork that had piled up under the front desk and transferred them to the couch in the back. Sitting cross-legged next to the pile with a binder opened on her lap, a stack of empty binders on the floor next to her, and a three-hole punch in her hand, Jacoba was quickly working through the mess, humming as she went.
She was so caught up in what she was doing that she didn't notice that Gunnar had sat down, on top of her pile no less, until she reached for the next paper and hit something very solid. Looking up quickly, Jacoba began to frown when she saw Gunnar smirking as he impeded her work.
"Get up."
"No."
That is when the growling started. "Get up, Gunnar."
"And let you keep working on whatever this is? Nah, you should get out of here. You're as pale as a vampire. Oh, and maybe you should eat something because you look like you will waste away any time now. And – "
"Gunnar, I'm going to stop you there." Both occupants of the couch looked up to see Toll Road standing in front of them with his arms crossed. "You may have no self-preservation and don't get embarrassed easily, but you are usually better at reading the room. I can even tell that you are only one insult away from starting a war. Now come on, we need to go pick up some stuff for Barn."
Shrugging, Gunnar stood up and looked back down at the glaring and growling woman still on the couch. "Try not to work too hard, doll. We wouldn't want you to waste away now." He quickly ducked out the door as the three-hole punch hurtled towards his head, laughing as he went towards his motorcycles.
Sighing, Jacoba got up to retrieve her previous weapon so that she could continue on her task. Turning back to her piles, she realized that Gunnar had, inadvertently, toppled the pile he had sat on and it was all over the ground instead of the couch. Looked like Jacoba would continue growling for a while.
