The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Prompt: "Are you sure you want to do that? The last time you tried, it exploded."
Jacoba didn't fully understand how these things kept happening to her. Once again, she found herself on an infiltration mission for the team, though this time, she had Gunnar in there with her. They were in at a security firm as a chemical engineer and his secretary, both of whom "needed" protection. This had gotten them into the door, but lead them into what had become a hostage situation. Now, the two of them were stuck in a window-less room with the door blocked from the outside (and the door opened out, of course). It just wasn't their day, Jacoba had decided.
It didn't help that Gunnar just kept pacing around the room, mumbling different equations under his breath, if Jacoba heard him correctly. They were also unable to reach their backup, which were Barney and Lee this time, on the comms since they entered the building, telling Jacoba that the company had signal jammers placed throughout the building. She groaned and leaned herself back to be in full contact with the wall, shutting her eyes to stop the full effects of a migraine from progressing.
"Hey Doll?"
Jacoba sighed, falling back into character easily. "Yes, Mr. Olinson?"
Gunnar scoffed have you seen any ammonium nitrate in here?"
She pointed over towards a cart she had seen and checked out not that long after they had entered the room. When the implications of what Gunnar was saying actually got through Jacoba's migraine, she sat up quickly and stared wide-eyed at her partner. "Are you sure that you want to do that? The last time you tried, it exploded."
He looked over at her and grinned. "But where's the fun in that, doll? Besides, you can trust me with this. I know what I'm doing with this."
Jacoba growled. "I know that you do, well, for the most part. You are definitely chemical, yes. But an engineer? Only maybe." She smirked at him as he walked back towards her.
"Wanna help? Gunnar held his hand out to her.
She put her hand in his. "Of course." As she stood up, she smirked up at him again. "Just don't be surprised when I get done first."
He just rolled his eyes. "Let's get out of here." And they got to works.
