Kakashi was summoned to the top of the hokage tower. It was the morning after the Uchiha Clan Slaughter and the village was quiet and shrouded in confusion. He landed gracefully in front of his hokage Sarutobi. He was told to retire from ANBU and begin as a new jonin instructor. He was a little bit confused but understood. The village needed to become strong again. They had no police force to rely on now. The jonins would have to step up and take on more authority if this village would recover. The children would need to be trained for the future.
"I have already selected potential canditates for your team based on entry exams and other factors. You already know them. Uchiha Sasuke and Uzumaki Naruto. Those two will need to be trained. One other is Haruno Sakura. A civilian with high intelligence that will be able to balance the team. You will not become their Sensei until 5 years from this moment. In this time you will help get situated and learn how to be a Sensei and figure out what has happened with Itachi Uchiha and help rebuild our jonins to be better."
"Hai" Kakashi said still bowing. Accepting his fate. Even if he didn't think he was worthy of a title such as Sensei.
"Alright, Let's be off and handle other village matters at the moment, There is alot of damage control to be dealt with" Sarutobi said with a wave of his hand and they were off to the inside of the tower.
Kakashi knew what work needed to be done. The village was sure to be in shambles. They flashed into the hokages office only to be bombarded with questions from locals about what had happened to the uchiha clan and what was going to happen in the future when a blonde woman and a pink haired odd looking man came in distraught. At first Sarutobi was confused about what they were talking about. He recognized them from the Haruno clan and Sakura's parents. A civilian clan that he did not have much knowledge on other than that Sakura in the academy that was highly intelligent and was the factor for placing on Kakashi's team. He frowned. What is going on he thought.
"My Daughter! She is missing!" Mebuki said distraught. She was crying hysterically to the hokage. Sarutobi frowned.
"I can't find her anywhere! Ive looked all the places she could be and I can't find her!" Mebuki screamed at him.
He held his hand up. Looked to Kakashi and a silent exchange that he wanted him to look for the haruno girl.
"Do you have a photo of her?" Sarutobi asked in a gentle voice. Kizashi immediatly went through his pocket and held out Sakura's first ninja academy photo he had taken of her before she left for her first day. It was Sakura in front of their house looking embarrassed with her mother trying to hold her hand with a huge smile on her face before they set off. He was tearing up and clenching it hard as he handed it over and kakashi snatched it up, looked it over, gave it back and disappeared.
"He will return shortly and find your daughter" Sarutobi said to the frightened parents. He wanted to ease them and had faith kakashi would find her somewhere in the village. Maybe it was the chaos from the night that caused sakura to become lost. They waited, all you could hear were the parents sobs as they consoled themselves.
Kakashi flashed back in, it had only been 5 minutes that it took for him to search to village. ANBU that had left unknown to the parents with him to search.
"She is not in the village hokage-sama." Kakashi said worried.
They shared a look of concern.
The parents wailed in anger and were too hysterical. He motioned for them to be taken to another room forcefully.
"We will find her Mebuki and Kazashi. Let us discuss this in a second. I need to have a word with kakashi."
They left the room to wait to see what search they would have set up to find their daughter.
Once they were gone Sarutobi looked to kakashi. They were both worried because of the coincidence. Itachi had just killed his clan and escaped the village so why was Sakura Haruno gone at the same time? They never had missing children in the village before like this in a very long time because the uchiha clan being police and ANBU being so strong children were found almost immediately if they got lost or ran away. To not have Sakura in the village at all and nowhere to be found was unheard of and the same time Itachi had disappeared was the only thing they both concluded. Itachi had taken little Sakura. But they couldn't figure out why now. She was a young civilian. Nothing to do with the uchiha clan. So why? It made no sense to them. Kakashi was trying to think of anything and still came up with no reason as to why. He will most likely be put on the team that goes on the mission to find her now. He had his dogs that could search. Now to look through her room for any clues as to what transpired and what happened. Sarutobi to discuss with the parents about what happens now.
He arrived to the house after being informed by the parents of it's location. He looked to find any clues. It looked as if it was normal. A normal little girls bedroom, he could still see that she had been ready for sleep at the time. Finding nothing with his eyes. He summoned his dogs and knowing Pakkun knows what Itachi smells like he ordered them to find any scent of him in this room. Pakkun sniffed and immediatly went to the window.
"There" Pakkun said.
"The scent of Uchiha Itachi is there. He was at her window and so was Sakura." Pakkun said immediatly.
Kakashi patted the dog on the head and dismissed him. Pakkun disappeared in a puff of smoke. He knew what happened and sighed in confusion. Itachi had used his sharingan and just took her. Just like that. Even more confusion arose in kakashi as to why. Why would Uchiha Itachi need a little girl? Nothing made sense anymore. He disappeared to report back to his Hokage with this information. More thoughts as to why, as he recalled itachi's behavior before the massacre claimed his mind. He was very worried for the girl. She knew nothing about the danger she was in if Itachi truly lost his mind and had gone mad. He didn't know what Itachi had in store for Sakura. He just hoped it wasn't one of the thoughts that had passed as he thought it over. Itachi was still a boy almost a young man.
