The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Prompt: "The real treasure was the memories we made along the way."

"I almost died!"

"Ah yes, that was my fondest memory."

Lacey smiled as she stood in the doorway to the backroom of Tool's Tattoo Shop, observing the scene that greeted her. All the Expendables were leaning against or sitting on their motorcycles, including Jacoba, who had finished customizing a Harley Davidson Heritage Classic 114 before their las mission. Which had also been her first mission. Lacey didn't see very many injuries, for which she was glad. In fact, Gunnar looked to possibly be the one that may be the most injured out of them all, if the way that he was holding himself was any indication. And Lacey was sure that, if they saw her doing so, all of the guys would be giving Jacoba all sorts of shit for the subtle little concerned glances she was sending Gunnar's way.

Shaking her head, Lacey stepped farther into the room, catching everyone's attention as she made her way over to Lee. Once she got over to him, she turned around, leaning back into him as his arms wrapped around her. Lacey smirked. "So, how did it go?"

Soon, they were all telling her how the mission had gone, with one member picking the story up as another finished their own part in it, most of it being very favorable of Jacoba's actions. The only ones who weren't joining in were Jacoba herself (and she was turning redder and redder with all of the praise) and Yin, though he doesn't talk much anyways.

Once Caesar dramatically finishes off the story, Jacoba smirks before looking over at Lacey again. "Ya know, I don't think that was the point of it all." Now that everyone was looking at her with varying degrees of confusion on their faces, she stood and walked to the middle of them, still smirking. "I believe that the real treasure was the memories that we made along the way."

As they all groaned and/or put their heads in their hands, Lacey looked behind Jacoba to look at Gunnar's reaction. His brows were furrowed, making him look as though he was putting a puzzle together. Suddenly, his eyes got wider before he glared at Jacoba. "Woman, I almost died!"

Jacoba looked over her shoulder at the Viking with what Lacey imagines is an innocent look on her face (she was now facing away from her so Lacey couldn't exactly be sure). "Ah, yes, that was my fondest memory, big guy."

That caused the whole group to start laughing really hard, including Gunnar after a minute. Lacey watched her best friend walk back to her motorcycle and couldn't help but feel glad for her friend. Jacoba had definitely found the place where she belonged.
