I feel as though it had been way too long since I have written a pre-relationship Gunnar/Jacoba piece. As in, just them, no other person involved. So, here we go.
The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "Did you just…agree with me?"
"Oh, I wish I could take – "
"Nope! You said it! No take-backs!"
"What's the matter, Amazon?"
Jacoba sighed as she leaned back in her chair at her desk in the back of Tool's Tattoo Shop with her eyes closed. Opening them again, she glared at Gunnar Jensen, who was smirking at her from where he stood in front of her desk. "Go away, Viking."
Gunnar furrowed his eyebrows and frowned at her response. "Aww, come on, don't be like that! I was just trying to help you out."
"No, you're not."
That got her an eye roll from Gunnar as he walked around the left side of her desk, leaning back on it when he got next to her. He raised an eyebrow as he looked down at her, a look she mimicked as she looked back up at him. "I'm being serious, woman."
"No, you're not."
"Woman, you are both stubborn and insane." Gunnar threw his hands up in the air and got up, starting towards the door. Jacoba was quietly chuckling when he looked back at her over his shoulder. "Why is it so hard for you to accept that people care about you?"
Jacoba shrugged, still smirking at him. "Well, I mean it's like you said; I'm stubborn and insane. Of course, I'm not going to accept things like that."
Gunnar stopped walking and slowly turned back towards Jacoba, who had stopped smirking and had her brows furrowed. He started to smirk. "Did you just fucking agree with me?"
Jacoba's eyes got comically wide as she realized he was right. They may have been getting along better over the last few months, but that didn't mean that she actually wanted to agree with him. "Oh shit. I really wish that I could take that back."
"Nope! You said it! No take-backs!" Gunnar quickly ducked as Jacoba threw something at his head. Bending down, he picked up the three-hole punch and brought it back over to the desk, astutely ignoring the glare that Jacoba was giving him. "Aw, come on, Amazon. How about I buy lunch?"
Jacoba pondered his idea for a couple minutes before sighing and standing, looking over at Gunnar. "Fine. Anything's better than sitting here doing paperwork or whatever. I'll even let you fuckin' drive."
Gunnar gave her a smile (an actual one, not just a smirk) and offered her his arm. Jacoba rolled her eyes as she put her hand into the crook of his arm and let him lead her to his bike. She may even tell him what was going on with her. Damn, she was definitely falling hard.
