Sorry for the feels; they decided to come out full force for this one.

Also, this is technically a sequel prompt to one that hasn't appeared yet, but will in the near future (see the AN in the chapter titled Naturally Terrifying). So, please stay tuned.

The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.

Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!

Hope you enjoy!

Prompt: "Right now, I don't know if I want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge."

"Can I pick?"

"What ya doing, doll?"

Jacoba rolled her eyes and continued reading the book in her hands, attempting to ignore her boyfriend, Gunnar Jensen, as he stood next to her. In fact, she had to consciously stop herself from growling at him. They had been fighting for a few days now just because he thought she was taking excessive risks didn't mean that she felt that she was. Shaking her head, she turned her chair away from him (slightly) and continued to read her book.

She heard Gunnar sigh and could practically feel him rolling his eyes at her. Feeling him lean in, she sighed and finally looked up at him, glaring as he sighed again.

"Gunnar, right now I don't know if I want to kiss you or shove you off a bridge."

This caused him to scoff as he put his hands on her shoulders, turning her to face him fully. He smirked, causing her to squint her eyes. "Can I pick?"

Jacoba scoffed, attempting to move her chair to turn away from him, but his hands kept her facing him. Gunnar leaned down, the ghost of a smile on his lips. "You do realize that it's okay to let people care about you, right?"

She sighed again, looking away from his. "I know, it's just hard. People have really let me down in the past and I have always felt the need to prove myself to everyone. It's hard for me to change that, you know?"

As she was speaking, Gunnar had gently helped her to stand (after setting her book to the side). He, while keeping one hand on her waist, he used the other hand to turn Jacoba's face back up to look at him, though she kept her eyes averted. "Jacoba, look at me." She quickly did, her eyes widening at the use of her first name. "I know it's hard, but we are all here for you. Not to mention that I love you."

Jacoba smiled as she put her arms around his neck. "I love you too, you big goof. Come on, let's go."

With that, Gunnar picked her up and carried her to his motorcycle, where he set her down. Soo they were on the road to his place. That was perfect for her, she had decided. And she most definitely loved him.
