I realized recently that I haven't done any new chapters mentioning the fact that Jacoba is perpetually late. It's a bit hard for me to write (I'm rarely late myself), but I'm going to try to write this in a bit more. Also, there may even be a future prompt mentioning this.
The legalities: I do not own any of the Expendables franchise (characters, places, and objects especially) and this is mostly au.Rated M just to be on the safe side.
Also, please don't be afraid to write reviews. I would love to hear from you all!
Hope you enjoy!
Prompt: "Is that blood?"
"No?"
"That's not a question you're supposed to answer with another question."
There were many things that Lacey did not fully understand about her best friend. Like how she could consistently hide her true feelings for a certain tall, blond Swede and yet openly show how caring she was for everyone, including said Swede, at the same time. Or how she could be so observant of her surroundings and yet so oblivious of when someone may be flirting with her. Lacey shook her head. Even after however long it had been since she had met her, Jacoba Dixie Kooper was still an enigma to her.
Well, most of the time. There was currently one consistency she had figured out about her best friend; she was always late. The two of them had agreed to meet at a coffee shop near Jacoba's new apartment before heading to the gym at the hanger so that Jacoba could teach Lacey some self-defense. The time that they had agreed on was about twenty minutes ago, however. Lacey rolled her eyes as she sipped on her latte. Trust her best friend to be late.
In a flurry of movement, the front door swung open and Jacoba barreled in, catching sight of Lacey and plopping down in the chair across from her. "Sorry, Lace, I stayed in my room at Tool's last night. Had a hard time getting out of there this morning."
Lacey waved her off, focused more on Jacoba's clothes than what she was actually saying. "Jacoba, is that blood?"
Furrowing her eyebrows, Jacoba looked down at the tank to she was wearing, just now seeing a red blotch there. "Umm, no?"
This caused Lacey to roll her eyes. "Jacoba, that's not a question you are supposed to answer with another question."
Now it was Jacoba's turn to roll her eyes. "Lacey, I've already had an extremely busy morning. I could even still have lotion not rubbed in on my hands right now and I wouldn't realize it." Jacoba stood and motioned for Lacey to follow suit. "Come on, let's go train before I lose my gumption." And with that, they headed out.
