Prompt: "You have to listen to reason!"

"But reason is boring!"

There were times when Jacoba really couldn't believe the words that came out of her best friend's mouth. Take just a little bit ago, for instance. She had been sitting and working on some of Barney's backlog of paperwork for once (he and Tool both needed to keep up with this shit though) at her desk in the Tattoo Shop's backroom when she heard some people walk in, bickering. Instantly, she recognized the newcomers' voices and rolled her eyes. It seemed as though Lacey and Maggie (the latter of whom had recently come back to spend some time with the team before she went off again) were arguing about one thing or another and, for one reason or another, had decided to drag Luna into their craziness this time those two just could not get along.

"I'm sure Jacoba would agree with me."

"Don't bring her into this, you guys! You know that she wouldn't like it, for one, and, for two, this bickering is just between the two of you. I'm still not sure how I go roped into this!" Luna was most definitely at the end of her rope, Jacoba could tell. Lacey and Maggie seemed to accept Luna's logic, however (and had apparently not noticed that Jacoba was sitting there, not that she'd say anything anyway), as they turned back towards each other.

"Luna is right, Lacey." Maggie crossed her arms as she narrowed her eyes at the other woman. "You have to listen to reason!"

From where she sat, Jacoba could see Lacey cross her arms and began to frown. Jacoba rolled her eyes. This was Lacey's equivalent of a pout and she just knew something odd would come out of her best friend's mouth. And she wasn't disappointed.

"But reason is boring!"

Jacoba groaned and dropped her head down onto her desk. She only raised her head when the silence in the room lasted for longer than it probably should have. When she did, she was made very aware of everyone in the room staring at her, all with varying looks of confusion (Lacey and Maggie) and relief (Luna). Jacoba raised her eyebrow at them. "What? Did none of you notice me before?"

When all of them shook their heads, Jacoba started to chuckle. Shaking her head, she held up the stack up of paper in front of her. "Well, you lot can either come help me or get out and let me work in piece. I will not be drug into your petty squabbles today, got it?"

They all nodded and actually left her alone. It was a great change of pace for her.
