Maraschino Ruby:
(Hi, I'm Doze, for those new. I've made a series about the Bad Guys with my own OC Zeke, and I've decided to make a bit of a one-shot, story-driven series regarding it. It's mostly about Zeke and The Bad Guys enjoying their new life of being Good Guys. I realized that after I finished the movie, I neglected the small short that they made that takes place after the mid-credits scene. I've decided to include the short as my first one-shot. Hope you like the chapter!)
(As always, the Bad Guys is owned by Dreamworks & Aaron Blabey. Zeke, Akio, Ari, Marshall & Liv are my OCs)
"Thanks. Have a good day!" Zeke said as he and Akio paid for candy at the gas station.
"So, this is your fam. Your uncles don't look like they'd fight over sweets." Akio signed, before looking at Shark. "Well, at least one of 'em doesn't."
"Yeah, trust me, it gets worse when my Tío gets involved." Zeke said.
Wolf and Snake were the last two coming from the gas station.
"Come on, Wolf, it's too dangerous." Snake said, "Why would we steal the Maraschino Ruby?" Zeke looked over, wondering what's going on.
"I thought we had a clean slate." He pulled out the newspaper and revealed that Chief was quoted for saying:
"The Ruby is safe from those stupid, lame and stupid Bad Guys."
Snake was shocked at the two stupids mentioned in the quote. "Okay, I'm in."
Zeke sighed, "Dad, I know she called us stupid, but I don't think you should be worried like that." He said, knowing that it could be easy to wound his dad's pride. Not to mention, this could ruin the clean start they had on life.
Wolf whispered into his son's ear, to reveal what he really meant. Meanwhile, Snake pulled out his push-pop.
"And you're SURE you won't get in trouble for that alone?" He asked, deadpanned.
"We'll be fine, kiddo. Oh, Snake, did you pay for that push-pop?" He asked.
"What? Wanna see a receipt?" Snake asked, realizing how little Wolf thought of him.
In the quick moment, police cars surrounded the gas station. The young raccoon sighed.
"I hang out with you and your fam ONE TIME, and it gets me in trouble again." Akio signed, "We should let your folks know." Zeke said. "Seatbelts, boys." Wolf said, the two kids put on their seatbelts and then Wolf drove off.
(Later)
They Bad Guys and the boys were being held in an interrogation room after being arrested for "stealing a push-pop." Officer Bob walked in with Chief Luggins, Wolf kept his smug grin and then pulled the newspaper up. "That's two "stupids", too many, Chief." He said. Akio didn't want to go back to juvie, and he was kinda worried.
"Just relax, dude. Let's hope she's too focused on catching my fam." He said and translated, "I-I can't believe my eyes! How?!" Chief Luggins said.
Officer Bob grabbed the report, "Uh, they were taken in this morning for stealing a…push-pop?" Officer Bob looked at them, that felt like a minor offense to him and then looked at the boys.
"Hey, don't look at me." Akio signed, looking at Snake.
"Allegedly." Snake said, before taking a few licks of his push-pop, and realizing he practically revealed himself.
Chief cackled, "A crime is a crime. And that makes you GUIL-TY~! She said, singsongy. "Even if it's for a minor legal-infraction. I win and you—"
Before she could declare victory, Shark came in with one of his infamous disguises.
"Objection! Jude Lawson, Attorney-at-Law!" He "introduced" himself.
"And I am outraged! Outraged! To see my poor clients being interrogated without their lawyer, which I am!"
Zeke sighed in relief, "Here we go, Uncle Lou…" he muttered.
"So he went to law school in the long-hours we've been here." Akio signed and smirked, with a hint of sarcasm written on his face. Zeke giggles, and translated every word Shark said as best he could.
"Exhibit A: A receipt with 79 cents. Thus, they are entirely innocent. Furthermore: a fake ruby for them to steal is called Entrapment—which is an illegal crime." Shark shook Officer Bob, "Officer, arrest this officer!" He said, pointing at chief!
Chief Luggins protested, "What?! That isn't true!" Officer Bob put the handcuffs on her, "It's true. Sorry." He apologized.
"If I'm in court at some point, which'll probably be unlikely. I'm calling your 'lawyer'." Akio said, Zeke and he laughed.
Wolf grabbed the telephone and dialed a number. "Hold on, Chief. We won't press charges IF you retract a certain statement." Wolf said, Chief Luggins was nervous, as she knew what he was going to make her say. The number Wolf even dialed was the news.
(Later)
The Bad Guys weren't done with their job just yet. Akio was sent home for the day, so Zeke was just chilling in the car waiting for his fam to be done with their "heist for good."
"Kiddo, you got everything packed for San Diego?" Wolf asked him, remembering that along with Diane, they were going to San Diego for a bit of summer vacation.
"Yeah, Dad. I got my games, sketchbook, and some spare clothes." Zeke said, "Let's catch a super-thief." He joked, "Zekey, we're not capturing Carmen Sandiego." Shark said to him, "I know, Uncle Lou. Just joking." "Remember, it's gonna hot out, so you might wanna not wear your long sleeves." Wolf said,
"Okay, I'll have to survive without my sense of fashion. ..! Oh yeah! Here we go!" He shouted, filling up the gauge for an attack! "Yes! Who da boss now? Pretty sure it's me!"
"Chamaco, that scared me! Calm down." Pirahna said, "Oh, sorry, Tío." He apologized over the radio.
"Okay. Done and done." Wolf said, "Okay, thank goodness." Zeke said, happy that this little situation was over, "You know, you really shouldn't let what Chief say about you bother you so much. Remember what Mom said?" He asked.
"Sorry you and your friend were in the middle of this mess, buddy." Wolf apologized, not wanting his son involved with this sort of stuff anymore.
"It's fine. Akio said he'd call Uncle Lou if he needed an attorney." He joked, "Wait, does that mean I did a good job at it?" Shark said, taking it as a compliment.
Wolf and the others made back to the car and drove off.
(The next morning)
"So, no cops this time?" Akio signed, "Is it supposed to be this dangerous hanging out with you, Zeke?" Zeke giggled, "No, no. I assure you, that'll probably never happen again." He said, hoping his dad's pride wouldn't be wounded so easily.
"Look at here: "The Ruby is safe from those No-So-Stupid Bad Guys." Wolf read the headline.
Zeke rolled his eyes, "I mean it was surprisingly easy." Wolf said, holding the candy diamond Chief had in place under her Entrapment operation.
"Like taking candy from a large and very angry baby." Snake said, gulping down that fake ruby.
"This summer is already weird." Akio signed, "Yeah, but hopefully it's a good summer." Zeke said, hopefully.
Wolf drove off, curving until straightening out the car. Back on the road to the city. And like this, Zeke's summer starts off…very strange.
(Okay, I hope you guys like this one-shot. And I wanted to include Akio, cuz I wanted to do oneshots with Zeke and his friends. Anyways, stay strong and awesome! God loves you very much)
