He held up the escape orb. "We need to do it now!" He was scared, who could blame him. I was too.
I ran towards him looking back at the monster that took everything from us. Me and the monster locked eyes, their eyes swirled purple with anger and the feeling of pure rage erupted out of its body.
At the same time I put the blast seed in my mouth and we began to count, "one, two, three!" The cyan orb erupted with light and the blast seed left my mouth and launched itself into the purple crystal shattering it. But before we could escape the monster launched themselves at me slamming me and them onto the ground, which left him standing there, horrified.
"No. No, no, no, no, NOOOO!" He screamed, locking his eyes that started tearing up with mine. He ran, he tried, he tried so hard to save me, but a small crystal shard burst into his shoulder causing blood to erupt out of him and he was soon enveloped in the light.
The clock in my mind began to click by each second. There was so little time before the seed exploded and destroyed everything.
"I was not letting some children win against me," the monster said over me. One
They lifted up their fist and punched me in the face. "I worked so hard for this and I was not letting it go to waste!" The taste of metal filled my mouth. Two.
"But it looks like you two won." Another punch. I coughed out blood. Three
"But even though you won," they stood up looking straight down towards me. "I was not going to be the only one who lost." Four.
The room began to be filled with light little by little. I fully noticed all the little details before it would all end. The rough texture of the black sandstone below me, the way the gold lining of the walls shone in the light, and the beauty of the swirling purple inside the crystal.
I don't want it all to end. I never had the chance. I never had the opportunity. I wished that there was a better way. There were so many things I wanted to say. I wanted to celebrate with him, cry with him, and to just live with him. He is my best friend. He was my best friend.
The light engulfed the room, ripping and tearing apart everything, every little thing. But before the light could roll over me, I said one small thing.
"Thank you Syn."

Episode One Part One
Destiny Bond
One of their eyes groggily opened. A yawn escaped their maw as they laid there trying to wake up.
"Hyaaaaw, hyaw."
They brought their head up and pushed down on the wet grass with their claw and looked down at it.
"Huh. What?"
I- I don't have a claw. They looked at the claw harder. It was almost like an insect's with it being a deep forest green and it having strange segments and spikes on the back of it.
They suddenly felt more awake.
That isn't what it's supposed to be! I think? What am I supposed to be like? They tried to search through their mind but… Why… Why can't I remember anything?! They couldn't find a name, a face, or any memories. The only thing they had now was instinct.
"Wha- what's going on!"
They looked at the rest of their body trying to get a single clue. Their body was strange and sort of mismatched like they were some kind of frankenstein monster or a Mr. Potato Head toy.
Their body was like those of a mammal with short black fur covering most of them, with just a few parts being replaced or added on. On the shins, top of foot, and flanks of their rear legs were thick purple scales.
Their tail was also unnatural to them, it resembled a fish's with two dark blue spines with a white fin stretched in between them, and a line of short spikes popping out from the top spine.
They couldn't exactly tell what their head was like but they could tell that a long silver mane came from there. Wanting to get a better idea they pat their weird gross insect-like claws all over their face.
They felt the silver mane that covered most of their face and some strange other metallic pieces. The bridge of their nose and upper jaw were metallic and behind their eyes they felt a strange circular object. On the top of their head were pointed ears and a strange metallic axe-like object with three long feathers popping out of the back of it.
That didn't help. What's going on?! I need to find some help.
They tried to push all of their legs upwards to walk but they were really unbalanced and took a bit of tries to get up.
"That was hard." They said defeated and tired.
When they finally got up they looked around the area. The sky was currently a dark black void with only the moon and stars illuminating the land, although they weren't doing a great job since it was still quite dark.
They were in an open clearing with a thicket of trees circling them. It seems like they are at the top of the mountain but it's kind of hard to tell, all they can see is that the land looks like it slopes downwards. A long way away in front of them was what looks like a little walkway that could likely lead to the bottom of the mountain if they were on one.
Behind them was a large dried up dirt pit that was in the middle of everything.
What is this for? They stared down at the pit, it wasn't too deep, it was maybe up to their legs . This place really feels strange. I really want to leave, maybe if I go down that path I could find help?
With great or unfortunate timing two silhouettes appeared at the path holding a lantern letting the chimera be able to slightly see them.
The first figure was a large purple slimy Goodra who was holding the lantern and the other was a strong looking kind of short Poliwrath. Wait, how do I know what those two are?
Before they could dwell on the thought the Poliwrath yelled towards them. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!"
"Eep," was the noise that popped out of the chimera's mouth. The two didn't seem to hear them or be able to see them in the darkness.
In a stern voice Goodra said, "you cannot be here, we need you to come over here into the light and say your name, species, and purpose for coming here."
"Yeah what he said!" Poliwrath added.
Scared of the duo, the chimera tried to take a few steps carefully towards them but due to the darkness and lack of walking skills they accidentally tripped over some sort of stone object and kind of just rolled over forwards onto their back.
"Ow, ow, ow."
"Uh, are you okay?" Goodra came a bit towards them before being stopped by Poliwrath.
"Woah, woah. Slow down there buddy. Don't get too close, it could just be a ploy to lull you into a false feeling of security! After all, didn't your Guild buddies alarm you about some potential gang peeps doing some 'sightseeing' they could be one!"
"You're right it's just that they seem a bit…" Goodra looked over to them and back to Poliwrath. "Incompetent?"
"You're getting tricked, man! Don't look into the baby doll-eyes!" The chimera's eyes started to tear up.
"I'm just going over to them," holding the lantern he carefully came over to them.
As he walked over to them he saw the full details of the chimera's body from the light emitting from the lantern. From their first sight of their body they weren't expecting any head turns from good looks in the future but instead head looks of 'what is that thing?' So they should've expected how they both reacted.
Goodra was the first one to see their face. "Oh my! I mean, uh…"
Poliwrath ran over. "What is it- what in the great abyss of the Distortion World was Giratina cooking in there?"
That really hurt.
"Um, anyways, do you need a hand?" Goodra outstretched his gooey hand to them.
"Y-yes, thank you." They tried to grab his arm but they had one of their claws out a bit too much and without realizing how sharp it was they slashed his wrist letting blood leak out of it.
"AAAAGHH! Oh no, this, hnnnn…" Goodra grabbed his wrist trying to prevent more blood from coming out. But he accidentally dropped the lantern on the ground while grabbing his wrist. Fortunately none of the glass broke.
"JUST WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING!" Poliwrath raised his fist in high in the air at the chimera.
"Wait! No! I'm sorry! Please don't!" They pleaded, but It was already too late and the fist struck their stomach.
"I- huff- I can't, can't breathe." They rolled over onto their stomach to try to get away.
Poliwrath prepared to swing another punch again before Goodra interrupted him. "Stop that!"
"I JUST NEED TO KNOCK THEM OUT! I'LL BE DONE SOON!" Poliwrath said while turning over to Goodra.
"No, don't do that."
I need to get away! While struggling to breathe they outstretched their arms and grabbed the ground trying to claw themselves away from the duo that were too distracted with each other to notice them getting away.
"Look I always do something wrong but whenever I point stuff out to you then it's fine and it's a simple mistake!" Poliwrath complained.
"Look I'm sorry, but aren't I right! Remember last week when you accidentally set Kecleons store on fire!" Goodra countered.
"For Arceus sake! The lamp was too slimy because of you!"
"Oh so now it's my fault? Seriously, you always deflect, you never take any responsibility!"
The chimera was finally able to claw their way over to the path. With a bit of breath regained they began to try to stand up to run all the way down, until they were spotted by Poliwrath.
"Hey no! Stop it!" He tried to run over to them but hesitated. "No I shouldn't." He turned back to Goodra and tried to find something to help stop the bleeding.
The chimera took their chance to escape and ran down the mountain with a question in their mind, what do I do?
"Hey Aaron, do you see them?" The Salazzle turned back to him. It was the middle of the night and they were both tired.
"No Jezebel," The Garchomp replied. He was of large stature, had grayish dark blue scales, and long red scythe-like claws that looked similar to a mega evolved garchomp.
"Ugh, seriously?! They've been up there for an hour. What reason could they be there for? I mean there was that weird yellow glow but ehh…" The Salazzle complained.
Jezebel had a slim and tall type of shape that was similar to a string bean. She wore a long dark fluffy open blue jacket that rolled all the way down to her ankles that she would often have to roll up, along with a light brown bag hung around her shoulder.
They were both currently hiding inside the bushes above the entrance gate to the mountain. The entrance gate was large with a path from the village coming up to it. On both sides of the gate and path the land went up causing the path to be inside of a mini valley.
"It was most likely that."
"No need to point out the obvious, you bastard."
"Just be quiet for a bit won't you? Once we get back to Serene Village you can rest immediately and I'll just put the stuff away."
"Wow thanks! For once you're going to be a good bodyguard," she said with sarcasm practically flowing out of her.
"I think the correct term is slave."
"You're getting paid so that doesn't count."
"Well- wait do you hear that?" In the faint, really faint distance Aaron could heard cries of pain and little bluffs for air coming from behind the gate.
"Oh, yeah. That doesn't sound like Goodra or Poliwrath though. It kind of sounds like a little squeaky bitch, although that is basically what Goodra sounds like."
They both stared intently at the gate where whoever was making the sounds popped out.
"Ssssshhhhh," Jezebel shushed.
With little tears coming out of their eyes and a limp to their step came out a… strange mammal chimera thing with a silver mane, what looks like an axe popping out of its head, and a fish tail for, well, a tail.
"Huff, huff. Ow, I think I broke my leg." The chimera whimpered.
What in the world is that thing? Aaron looked over to Jezebel who kept on staring at it with pure joy and curiosity like a hatchling finding out what fire is.
The chimera limped away from the gate and tried to make their way down the path.
Jezebel put her mouth to Aaron's ear and said with the most enthusiasm without a single hint of sarcasm for once in her life in the quietest whisper she could ever try to make, "I think we just found a new research subject."
