He's was trying to convince himself that his friends and family are still alive. Key word, trying. They can't just be dead after he sacrificed himself to save them. There has to be some sort of explanation for it. And yet every time the idea of them being dead crosses his mind, his heart starts beating faster and his throat goes dry. Every time he looks around and sees people on the street he feels like his insides have been twisted and turned like spaghetti. And as much as it sucks, it also makes him want to see Sam and Tucker one more time. If they're really gone, then what does that mean?
Get a grip Fenton, he told himself.
You just need to get home. Sure, you've fallen out of a portal with no idea of where you are and may never be able to go back but at least you're still breathing. He laughed quietly to himself at such a joke. After everything he's been through Danny only breathes to appear human at this point, he tells himself he needs to but deep down he knows he doesn't, and it scares him. Doing a quick power check he feels his core humming with energy. So far so good he says to himself. Holding out his hand he creates an orb of ectoplasm before dissipating the energy. Health check done . Standing up in the alleyway that he found himself in the first place Danny decides to familiarize himself with what he can before figuring out what to do next. It seems easy enough, right? Rings travel up as Danny turns into his hero persona. Turning invisible as to not catch attention, he floats up to get a better look at the surroundings.
The city lights were almost blinding, the people walking around talking loudly was near deafening and yet he couldn't read or understand a single thing. Floating around the city he noticed street signs, bus stops, and stores with neon signs. Danny tried his best to contextually figure out what it meant but the little pictures only told so much. Luckily he found a brochure from what he guessed was a tourist shop. From the looks of it he was somewhere in Japan. The good news was he was in what seemed to be a universe that had technology.
One thing in particular that stuck out to him was the people. Some had horns, tails, different colored hair, if Danny didn't know any better he'd think they were ghosts. But his ghost senses weren't alarming him, thus breathing human beings. It was weird not seeing ghosts around either, considering where he lived his ghost sense practically never went off. It was a lot to take in for Danny, especially after what happened prior to him coming here.
It was almost weird, seeing this many people in one place... alive.
Taking a deep breath he looked up. Although he was in another world, the night sky never changed and for that he was grateful. The city was loud and busy yet in the commotion Danny heard the sound of screaming from afar. His core brimming with energy urged him to go. Flying to the scene he landed on a rooftop nearby, watching a group of gangster villains fighting a police unit. In the shadows Danny saw the figure of a man with long dark hair and...a scarf? Confused, Danny observed the fight unfold seeing that supernatural must be the norm for this universe too considering all the villains all had superpowers and even the police force had a few interesting characters like a man with talons for hands.
As soon as first the cop fell the villains quickly took action finishing off the rest of the unit. "You think you can take us? With our combined strength you ain't got a CHANCE!" One of the villains stomped on the ground causing an overflow of magma to seep through the cracks melting multiple police cars. Grabbing what money they had stolen another villain slashed a fire hydrant spraying a strong force of water on the cops who had chased on foot. Unaware of the top part that had been sliced off a police officer could only watch as the object flew towards him to slice him in half. Danny's core urged him to run in and help, but he couldn't. It took everything in him to hold back, to not reveal himself.
If I run in there I'm dead meat...
Refocused on the man in the shadows Danny kept a close eye on him watching to see what would happen next. The scarf seemed to move on it's own as it lifted into the air before the man sprung into action. Before the cop was impaled Eraser head grabbed the metal top and redirected it towards the villains stopping them in their tracks. Focusing his efforts with the scarf with ease Eraserhead wrapped it around the villains leg stopping him from using his quirk. Alarmed the second man tried to throw sharp claws at the hero but was unable to.
"HES BLOCKING MY QUIRK!"
Getting a grip on the situation, the man ran at eraser head to throw a punch, however with just one hand eraser head stoped the attack catching the villain by surprise. Bringing his fist to his face, he leaned in and punched. Though it was unclear why the guy screamed like a girl. There was no doubt his nose was broken. Without wasting any time he wrapped the villains in his scarf and carried them to the nearest pole before contacting authorities.
Danny who felt relieved flew away knowing the situation was under control while also making a mental note to never meet that hero. He was not in the mood to fight someone like that. However once Danny disappeared Aizawa no longer felt a strange sensation, like he was being watched. Shaking it off he jumped back into the shadows to take care of other villains who may be causing trouble in the night. Thankfully they were much easier to take care of with dispatch since they didn't have crazy quirks. Yet somehow after several fights his muscles became more sore than usual. Throwing a wild power ball he snuck up behind a villain named Heavyface hitting him square in the chest knocking him out.
Fleeing the scene of the crime Danny decided to take a look around, take note of some landmarks, and find some sort of shelter for the night. Maybe I could crash at a house for a bit. Though I don't see any attics or basements I can haunt. He laughed to himself. Checking his pockets to count what was on his person made him laugh even more.
Yep... still broke. It's not like he could use American currency here anyway, it would give him away too easily. The smell of food at the night market made his stomach growl. Shaking his head Danny took off flying in the opposite direction. The thought of stealing never once crossed him mind. He couldn't bring himself to do it.
Anything to keep Danny away from...him. Putting the thoughts away he spotted an abandoned shed in a nearby forest. Noting the trees that gave perfect cover and a shack that looked as though it was waiting for the homeless to move in with rent as low as free.99 he could make do with this. Danny wasn't very worried about animals either since most of them tended to steer clear of him since the accident . Shifting back into his human persona the hoodie he had on would have to make do for a blanket until he could afford to buy the basic necessities later. Laying down on what looked like a really old couch that most likely had mold he slept and hoped that he wouldn't be robbed in the morning.
