Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 1 of Other Side. Thank you to those who have left reviews for the previous part. I do apologize for taking so long to get this next part out. I hope that I don't fail with this because I do have a lot planned for this series. And I hope that it is actually better than what I had previously planned for this series as well as trying to get things a little better than what they seem in the movie. I know some of the areas of movies are done poorly and I want to try to make them better. I do apologize once again for taking so long writing this next part out. I've been trying my best with writing these stories out and it doesn't always go according to plan. But I promise you that everything will make sense. Hopefully I'll be able to update this more often. Enough of my ramblings. Without further ado Chapter 1. Enjoy!

Chapter 1

A boy with brown hair and blue eyes sat with another boy who was laying in bed with brown hair and hazel eyes and a little girl with brown hair and green eyes was beside the boy kneeling at the bedside. An oil lamp burned as their only light in the room and a fireplace going to keep the room warm for the young boy who was sick in bed.

The boy in the bed shivered, burying himself under the blankets more in order to keep warm. Sweat poured down his face as soft puffs of air came from his lips trying his best to keep warm.

The older boy let out a breath as he looked at the younger boy. "You're always sick." He looked away leaning back in his chair a little bit. It wasn't rare for the boy to fall ill and he took notice and always came when he was sick.

The younger boy looked over at him. "You were sick when you were my age."

He turned his head to see Mr. Howlett coming into the room. "Evening Sir."

"Evening." The younger girl said softly burying her face into the older boy's leg.

The boy patted her head softly knowing that this wasn't the easiest thing for her to be handling. She after all never really saw Mr. Howlett all that often.

"Evening Victor, Audrianna. I didn't realize that you two were still here." He said as he walked towards his son.

"We were just keeping James company, sir, if that's alright." Victor said as he brushed some of the dark hair back on Audrianna's head.

"Very kind of you both." He touched James's forehead brushing some of the locks back on his head. "Any better son?"

"Still cold father."

"Just a mild fever. You'll be all right in the morning."

"You always say that." James said softly, looking up at his father.

"And you always pull through, don't you."

"Yeah." He said softly, taking a soft breath.

"Now, you taking your medicine?"

"Elizabeth! Elizabeth!" Mr. Creed shouted from downstairs.

Mr. Howlett let out a breath. "Your father's drunk again."

"Elizabeth!"

"You should help him home, Victor…"

Audrianna looked up at Victor pulling lightly at his pant leg knowing that wasn't the name he was calling. He wasn't calling for Victor or even that herself, but James's mother he was calling for.

"It's not my name he's calling sir." Victor said firmly knowing that something indeed was about to happen.

"Father!" James called out slowly sitting up in bed.

"Stay where you are, James." Mr. Howlett said as he left the room to go and deal with what was going on downstairs.

Audrianna covered her ears as the fighting downstairs got worse. Her eyes slid shut as her brain would think that everything would be alright, but this time she knew deep in her bones that this time was different than any of the other times that Mr. Creed would come and get them from the house. Something had made him snap and it wasn't a good thing.

"It'll be all right Audri." Victor said, kneeling down next to her, putting his hands carefully on her hands and removing them slowly. "I promise nothing bad will happen."

Audrianna looked up at Victor with wide eyes. She then turned her attention to the bed. "Victor…"

"Hm?"

"James…"

Victor looked over and let out a breath. "Damn it." He muttered moving quickly up to his feet.

Audrianna got up to hers and followed Victor out of the room and down the stairs. Her eyes went wide as they began to tear up. James had impaled Mr. Creed right through the chest.

"What are you?" Elizabeth questioned from her place on the floor.

James ran out of the home and through the woods.

Victor and Audrianna quickly followed James out into the woods. Victor being slightly faster than Audiranna with his longer legs caught up to James stopping him.

"I didn't mean it! I didn't mean it!"

"Yes, you did. He deserved it, and you gave it to him." Victor looked at the two of them. "We're brothers, Jimmy. You realize that? And brothers protect each other and they protect their sisters."

James blinked a few times looking at the youngest of them. It dawned on him that perhaps she knew this whole time that they were family.

Victor put his hands on his siblings' shoulders squeezing them lightly. "You have to be hard now, hard so nothing can ever touch us."

James sniffled softly. "I want to go home."

"We can't." Audrianna said softly for the first time speaking her voice soft and firm.

"We stick together, no matter what, and take care of anyone who gets in our way." Victor looked at the two of them. "Can you do that little brother? Little sister?"

Audrianna nodded her head knowing that she didn't have much of a choice.

"I'm going down to the river. They're coming." Victor turned his attention towards his brother and sister. "Head over the hill. Hurry! Can you run?"

The three of them headed over the hill towards the river to get away from whoever would be searching for them.

"Keep on running and don't look back."

Audrianna ran after her brothers, her heart constricting in her chest knowing that she wouldn't see her mother ever again, nor would she see her father Mr. Creed who loved her dearly and treated her like a princess. She was going to miss that. But she belonged with her brothers and where the wind took them they would follow no matter what.

This is the end of Chapter 1. I hope that you guys enjoyed it. I do apologize for taking so long in getting this written up, but my muse had gone out the window for this story and just came back. Hopefully this first chapter will do justice. I do of course have questions for my readers that decided to stick with this story during its long break. Should I write in parts of the Civil War and World War 1? Or go straight into World War 2? What would you guys like to see? Just curious since I'm going to be trying to write on this one as much as I can and probably have biweekly updates for this story so I have time to write each chapter out. Please leave a review and let me know what you think of this chapter. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing this story out. Plus it also helps greatly with keeping my muse going when it comes to writing out stories. I will update in a few weeks with a brand new chapter hopefully. Depending on how much I can write it might go from Biweekly to weekly updates. But I do have plans for this story and this one will go through Captain America and probably some of Agent Carter as well as finishing up X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Then there will be a new story after that to continue on with a few other movies and then go to the next book. I am combining like 3 movies give or take to make the books worthwhile. So hopefully that helps out greatly. I'll see you all next time in the next update.
