Queen Imu was wondering what could have happened, she hadn't heard anything from Bomb Girl for quite some time now and looking at the program that was watching the functions of the six Robot Mistresses she noticed that her light has gone out, meaning that she must either be deactivated or that she was destroyed which worried Imu. The drones have shown video material of fighting jets approaching the ammunition facility, so this place was most likely gone by now but normally Bomb Girl should have been able to evacuate and teleport away before it would have been blown up, so why didn't she do that? It was obvious that there was military intervention at play, so the humans decided to secretly break those peace contracts after all and attack it directly. Tch. Those fools. May have worked this time but next time they won't be able to counter her plans with pure fire power, that was a sure thing! And still, Imu was too curious about what had happened to Bomb Girl and somehow she had this feeling that her former boss was involved or at least did know what was going on. Ah, damn it! She decided to use the big communication screen another time and started a video call to Light Labs. Of course she made sure that they couldn't track her signal back and figure out the location of her secret base, there was no need for anyone to know about her whereabouts.
"Good morning again! Are we rightfully assuming that you know exactly what has happened yesterday regarding a certain ammunition facility in the middle of China?" she started confrontating the scientist immediately as his face appeared on her monitor.
"Yes, you are right, this factory doesn't exist any longer. I hope after your plans got spoiled you're able to see now that this will never work out for you?"
"Oh, please", Imu made a scornful gesture with her arm, "it took the air force to take down this little base, you can't always rely on something like that happening, such an insignificant inconvenience in long term won't turn out to have been more than a mosquito bite for us. We have much more in store to come."
"So, this is the reason why you called? To give us your new speech?"
"No, not really. Although we do like how annoyed and frightened it made you look."
"We're neither annoyed nor frightened!" Samus yelled, "Get to the point, why are you calling?"
"Bomb Girl. Don't pretend you don't know what happened to her. We demand to give us info about her current status!"
"Bomb Girl got destroyed" Light answered after a short pause while Samus stared at the floor with a guilty feeling and Imu tried to remain calm despite her feeling anger about this.
"Destroyed? How is that possible? Who was responsible for this?"
"It was me. I had no other choice" stated Samus, "You left me no other choice."
"You? A housekeeping robot destroying such a fighting machine like her?"
Imu raised an eyebrow. Something definitely looked different when she was inspecting the blonde's appearance in that blue bodysuit now.
"I'm no longer a simple housekeeping robot, I've been turned into a fighting robot and as I promised I will stop your madness. From now on you can call me... Mega Girl!"
"Mega Girl?" were Imu and Light shouting simultaneously. Samus chose that name because she thought it would sound impressive and this was the first thing that came to her mind.
"Regardless of what you are calling yourself now, you might have gotten lucky one single time. Sure, Bomb Girl should have been superior to you but to be honest she had her flaws and most likely she simply became too overconfident, didn't expect you to be a real enemy and underestimated you. We're not nervous and we're not impressed, there are still five other strong girls working for me, as well as many other robots under our command, so enjoy your victory as long as you can because your first one will also turn out to have been your last one. You want to play a game? Fine, then we shall agree to play! Next time we'll even be so generous to send you the coordinates of your next location! So long, you better be prepared for that, Mega Girl!"
And with that, saying Samus' new name in a rather mocking tone, Imu ended the video call.

Samus took that part of being prepared serious and as soon as Light finished installing Bomb Girl's weapon into her weapon system she was eager to learn how to use it.
"Should I be hyped about Hyper Bomb?" she asked herself as it turned out to be more difficult for her than she had expected. How the hell made her green-haired rebellious sister look it so easy to create and throw those bombs with some amount of accuracy? To Samus it felt kinda awkward and hard to handle. But she still had hope that at one point this weapon would prove useful and she had to train as hard as she could to master it.
Light of course didn't like the fact that Imu was treating this situation like a video game, he was sure that his former lab assistant would make them play it by forcing them to play by her rules and without handing out any manual. Two days had passed as he came running towards Samus, interrupting her training because Imu had kept her word and sent them the coordinates as she promised.
"So, where is it?"
"According to the coordinates it's at a construction site somewhere in Tanzania."
"Really? Wow, that's a rather odd choice!"
"Is it any good warning you that everything about this smells like a trap?"
"What's the alternative? You don't want me to go?"
"I fear this time we can't rely on help from the military, convincing them to attack a random construction site in Africa seems like a stupid idea. Imu is fully aware of that and that's why she counts on you showing up there on your own."
"No matter what I better get going then. And, ehem, sorry about that hole in the lab wall... I'm gonna fix that as soon as I've returned."
With an awkward smile she pointed at a big hole behind her back caused by a misplaced Hyper Bomb.
"Oh dear..." Light sighed, "just promise me that you're only going to use that weapon when you really have no other choice!"

"Life is like a construction site" Samus muttered to herself when she arrived at the coordinates that were given to her. She never asked what was even going to be built on those hills before she left and most likely the doc wouldn't have been able to tell her either so it didn't really matter. The peaceful view only lasted for a few meters when Mega Girl realized a Metool resting on top of the first of a few stairs right before her. It was no surprise to find one of those guys on a construction site as they were basically moving toolboxes that also had the intelligence to use some smaller tools on their own, helping out mechanics, workman or whoever needed help for some DIY activities. It would be a shame if they'd also been reprogrammed by Imu to turn against humans as Samus always thought they looked rather cute. But she was aware she should know better than that, after all this has not been an invitation to a tea party or something like that. At first the Metool seemed to be inactive but as she carefully came closer to it the hardhat suddenly rose and revealed the black face of the robot beneath it. The blonde couldn't believe it as 3 shots in different directions immediately were fired at her, the middle one that went straight as well as the high aimed one were going over her head but the downshooting one caught her by surprise and hit her in the leg. Luckily this was an older and outdated Metool version that was surpassed by it's newer models that were able to walk while this one was still stationary. It's hardhat closed and opened again, preparing for another shooting attack but it was greeted by Mega Girl's own arm cannon as the face showed up again, being his last view before getting shot and destroyed.
"Not like this, buddy!"
Samus met two more Metools on her way up the platform but once she had dealt with the first one the other ones didn't prove to be a problem anymore.

Instead she faced something more troublesome as she stood at the edge of a big canyon. The only way for her to cross were some horizontally moving freight transportation platforms. Suddenly she heard Imu's voice speaking from nearby. At first Samus thought the scientist would be standing somewhere close by but it turned out to be coming from a video screen placed not far away from the abyss.
"You think things are already going your way? Then we have to disappoint you, those Metools you passed had only been a warm-up, the real deals, including one of your sisters who's highly motivated to avenge the death of Bomb Girl, are yet to come up. We know what you may think right now seeing those platforms and yes, you are correct, they should be able to hold your weight and bring you safely to the other side. Or will they? Only one way to find out. See this as a test, like, you know, one of those function tests we've done with you shortly after you've been activated for the first time."
"Screw you!" Samus snapped back but Imu didn't really react, instead the message began to repeat itself from the start, it must have been pre-recorded in advance. A bit upset about the provocative mockery from the scientist Mega Girl jumped onto the first platform and tried not to look down. It indeed held her weight and moved forward without proving danger so far. Of course Imu had to point out those tests and letting her know that she was familiar with her, including her strengths and weaknesses and remembering that she was not the biggest fan when it came to heights...
Suddenly, maybe only halfway above the gorge the platform suddenly turned going backwards.
"Hey!"
Samus rolled her eyes. Of course she couldn't expect this to go so smoothly. Things can never be that easy!
Forced to look downwards for a clue she noticed that beneath her was a second platform moving on a rail, similar to the one she was one but there was a hole midway in the rail and when the platform moved above it then the part where the freight was supposed to be packed on also moved downwards before moving up again when it passed the hole. Whatever stuff or people would have been standing on it at that moment would have fallen down right into the deep abyss...
But there was no other choice, she had to get the timing right! When Samus felt safe she jumped down onto the second platform, waited for it to reach the hole and then jumped her way over it. However, there was no time to be relieved!
"What the hell? Are you freakin' kiddin' me?!"
There was a third platform moving from left to right under the second one, looking super unsafe, with the rail having lots of holes in it, making it an unstable death trap! She was so concentrated to stare at this in shock that she only noticed at the very last moment that the middle one she was standing on actually had a second hole almost at the end too, that made her jump, turn around, and having to directly jump again, not to fall down. Samus also realized that she wasn't able to reach the highest and safest platform anymore, there was no way to turn back now! Gathering all of her courage she brought herselt do fall down onto that deadly ride, then timing several leaps in a row similar to the rhythm of rope skipping and finally when reaching the end taking momentum with her, making another final big leap of faith from the platform to the other side of the canyon.

Being glad to have solid ground under her feet again Samus continued to move forwards without taking a rest, it was a good thing robots couldn't get shaky legs. At least not literally. She didn't have to wait for too long for the next robot to greet her on the other side though, as a swarm of annoying Bunby Helibots attacked her from the air, one of them giving her a slap right in the face. After a bit of dodging and shooting they were all crashing down in pieces. It was a real difference to last time in China when nobody expected her arrival, here on this construction site the enemy was prepared, some real pressure was put on the young heroine.
"You were meant to build, not to destroy" Mega Girl yelled at the hostile Picket Man model that awaited her next and was throwing his pickaxes at her direction. Luckily he and his colleagues aimed a bit high and the arc those weapons were flying at her was kinda easy to calculate which made ducking and dodging not that hard. It was still a challenge to take several of them out in a row while Samus made her way across the grey steel bridge that was built here, having some gaps in it as it was in an unfinished state.

Surprisingly on the other side of the construction site the way lead downwards pretty steep although for a robot still safe to land on those metal pillars but not so much for humans, from here on it was clear that this was a workplace only meant for robots. And there they came, some more Bunby Helibots, Samus shot a few of them down but decided to leave the rest of them behind by quickly diving down deeper as it wasn't worth starting unnecessary fights while probably getting cornered. Arrived at the bottom of this metal pit something really bad was waiting for her.
"Oh shit, it's a Big Eye!"
This massive robots that got their name from their prominent characteristic eye in the middle were as well meant for patrolling and controlling construction sites but could also fulfill the functions of giant jackhammers at the same time. They were built sturdy and tough, Samus never felt any desire to meet a Big Eye which had gotten out of control but here it came, jumping it's way upwards the stairs to where she was standing on top. Every plasma bullet fired at it from the arm cannon seemed to leave minimal if any damage at best! Panicking now Mega Girl was thinking if she should try and use the Hyper Bomb weapon but the Big Eye came closer and closer and she was terrible at aiming those bombs. Then she suddenly saw her only chance! From time to time this big robot was jumping high enough to leave some room for her to run under it, the thing was that it wasn't following any pattern, so she had to wait out for it to change from low to high leaps. It was nerve-wracking to stand there and wait for this to happen. As that big chunk of metal finally jumped high enough Samus rushed under it as fast as she could, not turning back, just getting enough distance between her and the Big Eye. She fled through a long tunnel with some more Metools lined up in it until she came out in a stone cave with a high ceiling. There was already someone waiting for her.

Guts Girl turned around, flexing her muscles, with a determined angry look on her face.
"Imu is really making sure to send you to places that are fitting for you girls and where you might like to be, isn't she?" Samus started the conversation, beginning to see a pattern of how which Robot Mistress was sent to which location.
"I'm gonna make you pay for what you did to Bomb Girl!" yelled the dangerously strong bodybuilderlike-looking robot aggressively back, not interested in having a talk with her at all. Mega Girl realized soon that it would be no good to try convincing her sister as the first big rock came flying towards her. Luckily it was not aimed that well, so she could dodge most of this attack, although being hit by some of the debris when it shattered on the stone wall. Then she opened fire with her arm cannon.
"Muscles can't stop projectiles, can they?"
"Trying to be smart isn't going to help you when you're getting crushed by my brute strength!"
Guts Girl ran forwards and punched her in the side with her mighty fists, as usual wearing boxing gloves, and out to make no prisoners! Samus still kept on firing almost blindly around when she got hit by one hard punch after another, being turned into a living punching bag.
"You think you're One Punch Girl but you aren't like Saitama, you have too much hair!" she yelled some silly stuff for the sole purpose of confusing her enemy to make her lose concentration. It must have worked somehow because when she rolled back she noticed that the brown haired gym girl's fist was missing her this time which Guts Girl realized with a dumbfounded look on her face. While in her former fight the key to success was to get close to her opponent it was obvious to Samus that it had to be the opposite here and so she ran away, bringing some distance between those two. No more getting punched for today! As she climbed up to a small plateau however she got hit pretty hard in the back by another rock and looking back the bad news were that there were even more lined up behind the back of Guts Girl.

"What are you gonna do? I've got many chances to crush you like a bug, you won't be able to dodge all of the stuff I prepared and unlike mine your body is too weak to tank it all!"
"So throwing stones is what we call advanced technology nowadays?" Samus kept speaking to divert her opponent.
"Sometimes smartasses like you need to learn the hard way what true power means, my strength is what makes me superior to you" bragged Guts Girl proudly in response.
She hated to admit it but she could not just keep dodging those attacks, with the arm cannon not doing so impressively in this fight there was basically only one option left. Mega Girl had to turn the table around and throw something back on her own.
"Please lend me your strength, Bomb Girl!" she prayed as she changed to Hyper Bomb and began her counterattack by throwing one of them at Guts Girl.
"How dare you using the weapon of our dead sister?!" shouted the brown-haired in pure rage and prepared to throw another rock as there was an explosion behind her that made her fly forward and fall to the floor.
"What? How can this be? You had missed!"
"I was not aiming directly at you", Samus lied, "I had aimed at the stone pile behind you and it worked out perfectly as I planned."
"I won't let this happen a second time!"
"Okay, then catch this one if you can!"
Having placed her bait Samus threw another Hyper Bomb in the air, this time Guts Girl stood up, stretched her arm and caught the bomb with her boxing glove. The last thing she did was to roll her eyes about her own stupidity as she realized what dumb mistake she just had made before she went out with a big bang as the Hyper Bomb exploded in her hand.

"I bet Imu will be mighty disappointed when she hears the news that I came back alive and managed to take out another one of her girls."
Samus leaned back as Light inspected and repaired the damage she had taken during her mission. Because she had been searching through what was left of Guts Girl after that explosion she also managed to bring home another memory chip which meant that soon she would also be able to get a boost in power which doesn't seem to be a bad thing at all.
"I'm pretty sure she will be, although you should never forget, the angrier she gets the more aggressive she's going to become in her actions, this is gonna be a long road to go. But I have to admit you have earned yourself the right to go by your new name, Mega Girl!"
"Oh doc, you know I'm not used to respond that well to being praised."
"Since when? This must be new."
"Okay, okay, maybe this was not exactly true. However, about this name, there's no need for you or anyone close to me to ever call me that. I only made this up as my fighting identity, you know, like Batman who's still called Bruce Wayne by his friends, so if you want I'd prefer if you call me Samus if that's okay for you?"
"I assure you it is" Light answered, laughing in his long white beard.

Somewhere on a hill in Tanzania overlooking the now abandoned construction site lying beneath there was a mysterious dark-haired person standing, looking nowhere in particular, completely lost in thoughts.
"Who'd have thought I'd witness something like that. It may seem unlikely but if you'd really manage to defeat all of them then I should probably reveal myself to you. Prove yourself to be worthy and we're going to have a talk with each other, from face to face, finally..."
