Chilton had tried really hard but had failed to contain his screams of partial pain and mostly shock. More than once he almost passed out but Gideon had slapped him back into consciousness, before making him hold his own intestines like some sick joke.

Freddie felt like she was about to faint at the sight, her legs shaking and Gideon more than once had to remind her that Chilton's life was in her hands.

As much as Freddie was a thorn in Rana's side, even she felt slightly bad for the situation she had ended up in. By then, Gideon had almost forgotten her and she had hung her head low as she worked more on her legs.

Eventually, just as Gideon removed the first organ from Chilton, one of his kidneys; did she manage to untie her legs. Taking a few deep breaths, she could still feel the drug in her system but it was slowly going away; clearly, Gideon had saved the remaining of it to be used on Chilton during his surgery.

She took a few deep breaths, blocking out any outside sound. At first, only her breathing could be heard and then her own heart beat in her chest; the sound echoing inside her mind in an all too familiar fashion.

thump thump

thump thump

thump thump

She snapped her eyes open, orbs glowing a dangerous bloody red and her body muscles tensed. She counted down the seconds until Gideon had removed the second kidney and had his hands outside of the body.

Just then, she attacked.

With a strong push from her legs, she let the momentum and her own body weight pull her forward and against the pipe and the handcuffs that held her back. At the same time, she had tightened her fists and pulled against her restraints, effectively cracking them momentarily.

The force of her movement put too much strain on the old pipe that broke, that single piece staying with her as she moved forward. To save herself from a nasty fall, she barrelled forward a single time before landing on her feet just as Gideon turned to face her; fear and worry visible in his eyes upon seeing her red orbs glaring at him.

She stood up and jumped, bringing her knees just as her hands passed beneath them and were now in front of her body. She fell on her back at the same time and due to the close distance, kicked Gideon at the side of his legs with enough force to damage his one femur.

Gideon shouted from the sudden pain, certain that his bone had been fractured if not broken. He fell to the side, hands desperately trying to grasp the little table with the tray but only ended up flipping it whole; making the scalpels fall all around him.

Before he knew it, Rana had straddled him and was holding the pipe piece her handcuffs were attached to not so long ago. Her red eyes stared into his soul like the Grim Reaper in the flesh and she brought the pipe into his shoulder; piercing through clothes and skin while his blood started to slowly sip out.

He cried out in pain and Rana pulled the pipe back, letting more of his blood sip out like a bloody red river that matched her eyes and seemed to only fuel her sudden thirst for blood. She held the bloody piece in her hands, the warm sensation of blood all too familiar to her.

She was about to bring the pipe down and end the madman that had become their latest problem, only to hear Freddie exclaim a sound of surprise and shock. She turned her head to look above her shoulder, her hair effectively hiding any side view of her eyes just as she saw that Chilton was slowly growing paler and his grip on his intestines was becoming weaker.

"He is passing out! Oh my god, he is going to die!" she shouted, trying her best to pump in the proper rhythm but it was becoming harder and harder to do so.

Grabbing the chance that she was distracted, Gideon pulled one of the guns he had first stolen from the guards he had killed days ago. With shaky hands due to his injury, he pointed at Rana but just as he fired; the force of the gun caused a backlash that messed up his aim.

Instead, the bullet grazed Rana's ear and tore a small piece of her outerwear while the loud banging sound almost damaged her eardrum. The sudden sharp sound made her fall back and to the side, effectively getting off him as her hands grabbed her damaged ear.

There was this sudden ringing that pierced through her skull and brain like a very thin needle, a high-pitched noise that made her close her eyes shut as she tried to get her senses and her mind under control. Her vision had blurred as a response, her heart beating faster but she had lost her concentration and her eyes had returned back to normal.

She lay on the floor, still holding onto her ear as Gideon dropped everything and started to run. He had barely managed to grab some gauze and garbs to press against his wounded shoulder, before fast limping out of the Observatory from the back door.

Rana barely caught a glimpse of him as she tried to lift her body slowly, her senses all in a haze and disoriented. She could not hear what was going on around her but soon a new source of light came from outside and with a turn of her head; she saw dozens of boots rushing into the room.

Glancing up, she saw just in time as Jack noticed her and knelt by her side. He was clearly trying to tell her something but her hearing was damaged at that moment, making her unable to hear. Then, he started to shout at someone else; most likely asking for medical assistance both for Chilton and also her.

With bloody hands, she grabbed his arm just as she felt the faintest amount of warm blood dripping from the top of her ear.

"Gideon" she said, although she could not hear her own voice she did point to the direction the blood trail was indicating; the same direction the serial killer had escaped to.

Hannibal knew that Will's mentality was slipping away slowly but he never expected to have his doorbell rang in the late evening, with the Beta Wolfskin holding the latest serial killer and Hannibal's copycat at gunpoint.

At first, it all felt like a nice surprise; a gift wrapped and handed to him. Will, the special Beta that he was slowly helping to groom into a far better version of his true self; had brought him the man that had copied his crimes and for a moment took pride in taking his killer identity.

On other occasions and under different circumstances, Hannibal would have gladly taken Gideon and removed all of his precious organs before making a fine gourmet out of them. Then, he would serve them to Rana and would enjoy watching her bite into the flesh of the man, who wished to harm her.

But he knew that this could not happen, no matter how much he wanted to. Instead, he had to play his cards right and not risk any mishaps to take place. First, he had to deny Will's accusation of seeing Garret Jacob Hobbs and the fact that there was someone else in the room.

Surprisingly, Gideon did not say anything as if he was playing along or was simply trying to find the proper time to make his escape from them. After Will had a seizure and lost consciousness, only then did Hannibal grab Will's gun and point it at Gideon.

For a moment, he felt the need to shoot him there and then. The man in front of him had tried to take credit for his work, for his art and he felt no remorse for it. Then, he went as far as to kidnap his mate and plan to harm her.

That was the crossing line in Hannibal's mind and his instincts were itching him to just end the man.

Hannibal had learnt from a young age to never suppress his wild instincts, never chain down the monster that he hid inside that meat suit he wore every day. He nurtured that monster, he fed it the finest of meat and offered him release when he would hunt down his victims.

But there were times, the very same monster that was part of him had to be detained. There were times when the wolf had to step back and choose to attack another day when the situation said so. And for him, that was one of those days.

It did not mean, however, that Hannibal could not see Gideon suffer; simply not by his hand. Instead, he would put Will to do everything but to do so; he had to play his cards right. Thankfully for him, he had just the proper catalyst.

Alana Bloom

Gideon had a lot of things that did not make sense in his mind, even before those stupid doctors tried to mess with his mind. However, after everything that had taken place up to that time, he had started to question just how little he truly knew.

Just as he stared from a distance at Alana Bloom, her big window perfectly made for this creepy stalking; he could not help but think about what he had faced in a matter of hours. Those red eyes stared right into his soul, pupils dilated like a Wolf threatening to rip him into shreds.

He did not know how that was possible but he knew he was not hallucinating at that moment. Rana had towered above him like a frantic animal, teeth barely visible through her heavy pants but sharp fangs noticeable enough.

She had broken through the pipe and had damaged her handcuffs like it was nothing, having a sudden inhumane strength despite the drug still in her system. In his mind, he found this to be almost impossible and if his instincts hadn't kicked in with the gun; he wondered if he would still be alive or if she would have just bitten his face off.

If that was not all, he then had to see a different pair. A pair of yellow eyes stared at him through the back of his car as Will Graham pointed a gun at him without a single moment of hesitation. Will did look unwell but Gideon doubted those yellow eyes were a part of his sickness, no, it was something more.

Now, after being released by Hannibal and being given the address of Alana; he remained there standing. His shoulder was hurting like shit but he had managed to stop most of the bleeding. Once he would take down Alana, he would retreat somewhere to stitch himself up and give his arm some time to heal.

That was his plan until he felt that he was no longer alone. Through the cloak of the snowy night, those same glowing yellow eyes stared at him as Will Graham marched his way. He had trouble walking fully straight but the look in those yellow eyes showed pure animalistic madness and loss of humanity.

Yet, Will stopped upon seeing Alana through the window; his eyes turning back to normal. It was clear that the woman was his kryptonite, personal feelings being harboured for the female psychiatrist inside that house.

Gideon decided to try and use that chance to get to know Will. Perhaps those two were not that different after all and if he used the right words, he hoped Will would let him kill Alana and maybe shed some light into what those eyes were.

"We're both here. Looking at her...Just those kinds of people who shouldn't be in a relationship. You and I are already committed...hard to be with another person when you can't get out of your own head...or tell her what you truly are" Gideon said, glancing at him momentarily.

Will's face remained focused on Alana. "I want to get out...I want things to make sense...I want to tell her"

"We all want things we can't have. If I kill her... like he would kill her... I wonder if I could understand him better, hear the cold drips in his darkness, watch the world through his red haze." He confessed and for a moment thought back to those red eyes of the FBI agent. "Red eyes...she has eyes like yours..." he mumbled, finally earning Will's attention. "I wonder what I would find if I had gotten my hands on her...would I feel any different? Would I feel how the Reaper felt...when he killed Miriam?"

At that moment, Will had fully turned to face him. While at first, Gideon thought he had started to get through him; only then did he realize his mistake. For in Will's brown eyes, he saw no humanity, no sanity and above all; no remorse.

For Will only saw Garret Hobbs in front of him, mocking him with those yellow eyes both of them share. He talked about Alana and then about Rana, he mocked him for who he had become and his mind went to another person that had suffered so far...Abigail.

The man who mocked him and haunted his dreams had started everything, First with his own daughter and then with Rana, who had to lie and deceit for their sake. She went far and beyond to protect them, protect the pack they had formed.

And while Alana was not in hers directly, Will felt that she could one day be part of his. For that to happen, however, he had to take down the one that threatened everything.

"You will...not touch...my...pack..." he said, his eyes glowing a bright yellow and for a moment; they seemed to have a change of colour as a hue of faint red replaced them before he pulled the trigger and placed a bullet through Gideon.
