And we're back with another time skip here, there will be at least two or three more until we get to the age Fuku was at in the prologue, then they will be pretty common in the high school years and until we get to the start of when 0 and canon happens.
I panted heavily from behind one of the many trees that were designated to be a part of the training ground Grandpa had decided on, hoping that I would be able to catch my breath for a few minutes in my hiding.
It's been three years since I started school and my training with my Grandpa. And not much had changed in that time other than me getting stronger and gaining more muscles.
Well, actually that's a lie I had been growing taller at that time too.
…by a few inches.
It was starting to get obvious that I was likely going to be the smallest student in the future. Nearly everyone had outgrown me and the ones who hadn't were younger than me.
Boys who had tried to tease me over it were ignored by me except if they got physical, then I would beat them up. While girls who did were told on by me.
Sexist? Probably but I've had too many adults tell me that when a boy is teasing me it's because they like me.
Like no? They are just being jackasses, who the hell mentally and physically causes harm to someone to get that person to like them?
Dumbass's that's who.
Can't do the same to girls, unfortunately, people get more piss if you beat up a girl than when you do it to a boy.
Which is also kind of sexist.
Ah right you're probably wondering why I'm hiding, you see its because I-
"DO-"
I was instantly moving as I pushed off the tree and curled up in a ball and I covered my face from the splinters of the now-destroyed, tree I was using to hide.
"-DGE!!!" My grandpa finished after he committed a crime any environmentalist would start jaw drop at, with his bare hands.
"You trying to kill me, Grandpa?!" I shouted at him from the ground as I scrambled to stand up, ignoring my urge to throw up.
He dared to laugh.
Senile old man!
I considered throwing the rock in my pants pocket at him.
"Oh come now Fuku, this is an important lesson I'm teaching you. Expect the unexpected! Haha!"
I chucked the rock at him.
He easily caught it and grinned wider at me.
"Good! You are learning, now I can go even harder on you!" He cheerfully said as he crushed the rock in his hand.
Oh shit!
I turned and fucking ran as fast as I could push my body to as I heard the sound of a tree being forcibly uprooted.
꩙
I rubbed the back of my head from where an injury that Grandpa had caused by throwing a fucking tree at me.
Crazy old coot
However, he did heal me and even rewarded me, even if it was just a girly-looking notebook with stickers.
I'll give them to Hanako, she likes this stuff.
But I'm keeping the pink goat sticker.
"Fuku-Chan! Good morning!" Speaking of Hanako she just wished me a good morning.
She changed a bit over the three years with her hair growing longer she now kept in a braided bun, and her glasses changed to an oval one.
She was also starting to lose some of her baby fat and I could tell she was going to look like her mom when she grew up, just with her dad's hair color.
It wasn't a bad thing, her mom was a beautiful woman, one of the prettiest in town if I was truthful. With her petite look and pleasantly soft voice, I would have likely developed a crush on her.
If it wasn't for, you know, the fact I could tell she didn't like me.
At all.
I don't know if it was because I didn't have parents, my Indian heritage, or even the way I acted. Hell for all I know it could be that she just didn't like my grandpa and it expanded to me too.
But I guess that didn't matter as she was an adult woman who decided to hate a child and show it with no guilt.
I hope Hanako takes on her father in personality when she grows up, the man was nice when I came over, unlike her mother who refused to let me in. He would bring gifts from different places, mainly Tokyo since he worked there when he got the chance to visit, and would offer to bring Hanako and me on trips outside of town to vacation at places, like the beach or a movie theater.
Our town was underdeveloped if I was honest, the school I was going to was a prime example as every student from all grades were taught in that one building and there wasn't a school uniform for any of the grades. Hell they didn't even teach high school in the building, you had to go to the one a town over three hours away if you wanted to obtain a higher education.
The only good thing is that they aren't super religious.
"Hey Fuku-Chan, do you want to get your ears pierced?"
What?!
I turned and looked at Hanako in surprise at what she asked, not expecting her to ask me something like that.
"Uh maybe?" I said completely unsure why she would ask me that.
We don't even have a doctor in this town how the hell would I get my ear pierced?
As bad as this sounds, I can already tell this town is not gonna survive COVID.
"Well if you want we could get them done by Yamashita-senpai in the upper grades got a piercing gun and she said she can do mine and anyone else I bring. She doing them after school today and I'm planning to go get mine done, so do you want to join?" She asked me with her big brown eyes.
I thought about it for a minute.
Get myself and my friend pierced by an armature and likely get in trouble with the adults while simultaneously getting her mother more pissed at me or spare with Grandpa after school.
I already knew my answer.
"Yeah sure let's do it," I told her much to her joy.
I'm gonna be in so much trouble for this.
