"Hey there. I-I-I'm Izuku Midoriya! I'm seven years old and- um... Mom just got me this camera to record-"
On screen is like the young boy stated, a seven year old Midoriya. Midoriya was clearly nervous but also a little excited.
"U-um not sure wh-at to say-y. U-mm, I like All Might- and other hero's too! I want to be just like All Might though! I-I-I don'-t kno-w-w if I-I ca-n- tho-ugh... I'm-mm-m qui-rk-le-ss... But I can still do great things! I like to analyse hero's and quirks."
The seven year old greenhead was muttering while staring at the ground.
"H-hm... Oh shoot! I f-forgot I-I-I shoul-d-d'nt say my name on the internet yet! I'm only seven!"
The nervous kid suddenly rushed towards the camera, roughly grabbing it and turning it off.
"How is he?" A familair voice said.
"Doctors still aren't sure, I'm afraid." Another one.
"Is he going to be okay...?" A slightly younger but all the same familiarity said.
"Hellloooo! S-sorry I was trying to imitate the voice her-ro Present Mic, he's so cool!"
This time the young boy had stars in his eyes while staring at the screen before he seemed to remember what he was doing and curled into himself.
"I-I-'m-m... U-um- sorry you can't-t kno-w my nam-e... Or my quirk!"
The boy suddenly froze as he stared at the screen.
"W-wai-t you can't see my face either then!"
Once again the boy rushed the camera, turning off the recording.
"Any news, on his status?" One of the same voices as before asked.
"Same stuff as before." This time it was a voice that wasn't there last time but was familiar all the same.
"I wish we could do something or at least learn something new." Another voice said.
"Well.. maybe it's better not hearing anything- what if the news they give us is bad."
A familiar young boy popped up on screen with an All Might mask covering his face- it was easy to see the green hair sticking out from behind it.
" e!"
The tiny Midoriya shouted, seeming more at ease behind a mask.
"If you can't tell, All Might is my favorite hero but he is not the only hero I admire! There are so many great people, who have such amazing quirks, especially the hero's! I like to analyze quirks!"
The young boy suddenly stopped talking before continuing once again.
"N-n-not... everyon-e think-s sooo... but ummm... I-I I think it's useful!"
The boy clearly was holding back tears behind the toy mask, while shaking like a leaf in the wind.
"So-o um... Yeah! Hero's and quirks are so cool!"
Suddenly another voice too faint to hear the words of, sounded in the background. The voice was soft and gentle- clearly belonging to the boys mother.
As the voice faded out the boys attention was put back on the screeen.
"S-sorry! I have to go now! It's dinner time!"
The boy grabbed the camera in less of a rush then the previous times but with the same shaky hands.
"Coming mo-"
The screen faded to black, interupting the boys sentance.
"Why can't I help him?" The young voice from the first encounter asked.
"He's under the effects of some quirks and we're not sure how your's would react. We don't want to risk anything right now." A tired sounding voice said.
"B-b-but! I've been practicing." The young voice spoke again.
"Yes, but you still can't control it- which is fine. And like I said earlier, that's not the problem. We don't know how your quirk reacts when someone is under the effects of another one. We can't risk it."
"So w-what?! We-'re just supposed to wait for the new-ws that he's going to die! I heard it! That's what the doctors think!"
"Clearly some people need to learn when to not talk about things in front of delicate ears..." The quite voice grumbled under his breathe before addressing the young voice, "They are not sure yet. Everything might be okay- we just have to wait and see."
"I'm tired of waiting!" The young voice screamed.
A slightly older Midoriya appeared on the screen, he looked to be about ten.
He was wearing the same All Might mask as before but this time appeared to be trying to use a light grey scarf to keep the too small mask in place.
"hmmm… sorry it's been a while… I remember I was so excited to start this…. I told Kachaan though and he made fun of it- I was stupid back then. I thought Kachaan might actually like something I did."
The young boy on screen had his arms slightly secured around him, shying away from the camera.
"I stopped making them… but I guess… I just need something to do. I won't show anyone these- not that anyone besides mom would care. I guess I just need something to do…. Maybe I'll talk about how I am and some hero's or something."
On screen Midoriya paused before continuing.
" I guess today wasn't fun- not that my days usually are… People don't like me so I don't really have friends… um… Today I got in big trouble for my desk being destroyed- but I didn't do it! I'm not the one who wrote all over it… I think Sensei knows that though, I think he just doesn't care. He made me skip lunch and stay behind after school scrubbing the desk clean. Everyone made fun of me for it."
The boy trailed off.
"I guess what's really bugging me is what was on my desk- it's not like it's stuff I haven't heard before but I'm just so sick of it! I want to be normal! I want friends! I want to be more than just a worthless quirkless Deku!"
Midoriya started to cry as he walked over to the camera- the screen went blank within seconds.
"Hey!" A loud voice shouted.
"Quite down before you cause there to be anymore problems." The grumpy voice said.
"Sorry… How's he doing?"
A sigh rang out through the room.
"Yeah I figured."
"Why did you come here?" The grumpy voice said in a harsh tone.
"Okay, yeah you caught me…. I know its your time to visit and all but she still won't calm down. She insists that it's all her fault still. Her quirk seems to be starting to work up again."
"Hmmm.. she'd been making so much progress. The last thing she needed was something like this happening…" The grumpy voice said sounding even grumpier.
"I know..."
"I'll go watch her for a bit until she calms down, keep an eye on the kid."
"Yeah..yeah."
Once again Midoriya's face appeared with the signature All Might mask on.
"Hey! You won't believe my luck today! I saw a hero patrolling the streets before school!"
Midoriya was practically bouncing up and down on the chair he sat on.
"And then after school some bullies were chasing me but then we accidentally ended up right in front of a villain fight! As soon as they saw the heros fighting they stopped chasing me and once the fight ended I was able to slip away unharmed! The fight was so cool! I can't believe it! Two pro's in one day!"
Midoriya pulled out a familair kind of notebook, to which he flipped open and started reading his notes about the fight. He started to rant on about the hero's in what many refered to as one of his mumble storms.
The boy suddenly cut himself off, "Ahhh! I forgot to buy eggs for mom in all my excitement after school! I got to go get them before she gets back from work! Bye!"
This time Midoriya cut off the camera with a slight wave. The last thing on the screen before id faded to black was a wide smile.
"Hi... sorry I don't really know what to say."
The young voice said.
"I probably don't have long before someone comes back to check on you- I'm not allowed to watch you, they said I'm too young."
A small sniffle filled the room.
"I-I don't really know if you can hear me either... but I have to hope right? You always tell me to stay positive but I don't know how to right now... I know I'm worrying everyone else- I stopped smiling again..."
The crying got louder as the girl continued.
"I-I just want to see you smile again though... then I'd find my smile I know it... They don't really know what's going on with you... please be okay... I-I-I want to-"
A door opened as someone else walked into the room cutting the girl off. The girl continued to cry as the new person seemingly reassured her of something.
Midoriya appeared on screen again looking only slightly older- this time without the mask.
"Hi... It's me again. I decided to not wear the mask this time. I don't know why I did the last few times..."
Midoriya trailed off looking over to something on the side, off camera.
"Umm..."
Suddenly tears ran down the boys face as he suddenly started choking down sobs.
"S-s-sorry!"
Midoriya crawled over to the camera one hand pressed against his face before he scrambled to grab it. The cameras veiw shifted to the side where a boquet of red spider lillies layed splattered on the ground before it faded to black.
"Hey! We're all here to see you again! Well not all of us but you know what I mean!" One of the bubbly voices that had visited before said.
"Yes! We thought it would be a great time to come visit!" A strict sounding voice said.
A door opening cut off the people talking.
"Oh, are you all talking to him? I thought they still were unsure about his current conditions or if he could hear us?" A bland but also soft sounding voice said.
"Well... they still aren't sure... but there's no harm in hoping! Besides he'd want us to be happy." The bubbly voice spoke again.
"I don't understand why they can't figure out what's wrong with him..." A new but all the same familiar voice said.
"Yeah it doesn't make much sense to me!" Another new voice said, high pitched but without the familiar cheer.
All the voices were so familiar and yet they all seemed to be missing something- there was no cheer in any of their voices, even the bubbly girls.
"The doctors said it seems to be some kind of quirk or quirks blocking all the tests they try to run. They don't really understand what's happeing either and without being able to run tests there's no way to know how to help him. They can't even figure out what's going on with the quirk either and I think it's obvious they don't know how to work around it."
"I-i-it just sucks not being able to do anything!"
"Yeah..."
"I feel the same..."
Once again the familar greenhaired boy popped up on screen this time looking quite a bit older, somewhere in his teen years would be most accurate.
"I-I... I don't know where to start! It's been a long time since I've done one of these videos! I'm in middle school now! Um.. today was rough I guess... but also at the same time the best day of my life."
Midoriya was practically bouncing around in excitement from where he was sitting agaisnt his All Might themed bed.
"Seriously- like what is my life! I mean today was just crazy! I saw a villain fight on the way to school this morning- school... well today wasn't a great day at school..."
The boy holds up a ruined journal before tossing it to the side.
"Yeah... it wasn't great and then... um... after school I got attacked by a villain! All Might saved me!"
Midoriya reached over for the journal and held it up again, opening it to a page where a familair signature could be spotted.
"He signed my journal! I got to speak to All Might! Um... actually that didn't go so well... my dreams kind of got crushed- but it's okay they're not anymore!"
Midoriya sat up straighter as he spoke once again.
"Afterwards Kacchan got attacked by the same villain I did... I kinda rushed in to try to save him... I couldn't do much but apparently it impressed All Might- he said I can be a hero!"
Midoriya stood up from the floor causing the top of his hair to be cut off from the camera frame.
"I'm going to start training for U.A. now! I will be the worlds greatest hero!"
Midoriya threw his fist into the air as he let out a big cheer before reaching over towards the camera. The screen faded to black as Midoriya continued to cheer.
"Still nothing?" One of the voices that had visited a lot said.
"Yup." The grumpy voice replied.
"That's expected I guess."
"They found another specialist that might be able to tell what's going on but they don't seem to hold much hope for this new one. Apparently her quirk is similar to one of the quirks that they've already attempted to use- I think a distant relative."
A sigh echoed through the room as the two occupants seemed to switch places.
"I shouldn't have been expecting any good news at this point."
"Don't give up on him just yet." The grumpy voice said sounding schoolding.
"No, no... I suppose you're right. I'll try my best to stay hopeful."
"Hmm.." The grumpy voice said as he appeared to be leaving the room.
"My boy... please just be all right..."
Midoriya appeared on screen looking around the same age as before but this time looking a lot more fit and muscular. A wide smile layed on the boys face as he looked into the camera.
"I meant to make one of these a lot earlier. It's me Izuku Midoriya- officail U.A. student! I meant to do this video when I first got accepted into U.A. but kind of kept getting busy. That's okay though, better late than never!"
This time he was sitting on his bed looking a lot more relaxed then any of the previous times.
"U.A. is absolutely crazy! I mean I'm training to be a hero! Kacchan's in my class but he's not been acting as harsh as he did in middle school- I mean he still calls everyone extras and yells and stuff but he's not... necessarily being mean?"
Midoriya chuckled to himself before continuing.
"Anyway, things are just unbelievable! I never thought I'd actually be here! U.A. is so great, really! The teahers are all pros and are so nice to everyone, including me! I mean they're super hardcore but they mean well and they're toughness is only to help us become stronger- especially Aizawa-sensei acts that way."
The smile on the boys face grew.
"And I have so many great friends now! I'm so thankful for all of them! Even my classmates that I don't know that well are all just so nice! I'm so glad to be in their class!"
Midoriya suddenly moved towards the camera and grabbed it, with a click the screen faded to black.
"H-hi... I'm not supposed to be in here, alone... not after last time... I snuck in though.. I-I- I miss you. They don't know what's going on and I'm scared... they said using my quirk might make things worse... please be all right."
A soft hand was touching him as warmth flooded through it.
"Please! I need you!"
The warm feeling grew larger before suddenly fizzing out. Something had changed though he felt different, he felt... better?
"I-I- shouldn't have done that! Wh-at if I made things worse? I'm in so much trou- Deku-nii!"
Midoriya appeared on screen again, this time it was clear that he was in his dorm room instead of the one at his house.
"Hi! Izuku Midoriya here, or I guess you can call me Deku!"
The boy laughed as he spoke.
"This sounds a little cheesy but I decided to make another video! Things have been a little rough since staring U.A., with all the villain attacks and stuff but it's also been amazing. If you can't tell I've moved into a dorm at U.A. now! Everything is just so surreal... seriously I mean everythings crazy- I guess part of that comes with training to be a hero but I don't think all of the villain attacks are usually part of the curriculum."
Midoriya grabbed the camera and turned it over to where his desk sat. He himself took a seat at the already pulled out chair. Behind him was a bunch of photos that the class had taken together, there was pictures of the whole class, smaller groups, ones with the big 3, with Eri, their teachers, and even a collection with some random students around campus.
"I don't have long to make the video- Eri should be arriving soon, I'm supposed to be helping her make candy apples! She's been begging me to show her how I made them so I finally went out and bought the ingredients yesterday!"
The boy pointed towards a picture of Eri holding up one of the red candied apples.
"Anyway I guess I just thought it would be fun to make another one of these. I mean like I've said life's been crazy... not everythings been good."
Midoriya looked down at that seemingly remembering some of the bad moments from the year.
"But even still, I wouldn't want to change anything! I'm so thankful for everything that U.A. has given me! I hope to continue to learn to be a hero and change the world for the better, but for now I guess I'll focus on getting stronger and enjoy the time I have here with all these amazing people!"
A small knock could be heard from the other side of the door.
"Oops, out of time! That's Eri! Till next time, bye!"
The boy rushed off behind the camera to where the door was located, a few seconds later the screen faded to black.
"Deku-nii?" The young voice asked.
For the first time in a while Midoriya opened his eyes. It wasn't a fast process- he ended up closing them again several times due to the bright lights but after a minute he was able to hold his eyes open in a squint.
"E-e-eri?" He asked, practically choking on his words. His throat felt scratchy and like it had been unused for quite a while.
"Deku!"
The young girl climbed into the chair next to his bed and jumped him in a hug. The impact caused a slow stream of pain to ripple through his body but he ignored it in order to focus his attention on the now sobbing girl.
He slowly wrapped his arms around her small frame and pulled her further into a hug.
"E-eri."
The young girl stopped sobbing and looked up to meet his eyes with tears still falling down his face.
"I-I-I wasn't supposed to use my quirk on you... They didn't know if it would make things worse... but you're awake now..." Eri said while rubbing at her tear stained face.
Midoriya couldn't help but smile at the young girl through his pain.
"Th-thank.. yo-u.. Er-i... Yo-u m-m-ight wa..nt to g-g-et sssomeone el-se th-ough... Yo-u k..now to ch-eck on.. me?"
Eri must have took his words to heart because after one last squeeze she bounced off of him and ran out the door. A few silent minutes later the girl rushed back into the room with Aizawa-sensei and a few doctors behing her.
The next several minutes were filled with the doctors running several tests on him while Aizawa-sensei light heartedly schoolded Eri in the corner.
Once the doctors were satisfied they left the room, telling Midoriya to let someone know if anything changed.
With the room clear, Aizawa-sensei stopped schoolding Eri and instead focused on him.
"How are you, kid?" Aizawa said passing over a cup that held ice chips.
After swallowing several spoonfuls Midoriya answered, "F-fine.. really I feel much better. Thanks, Eri."
Aizawa sighed while helping the squarming Eri up onto the hospital bed.
"What am I going to do with you two?"
Instead of replying Eri and Midoriya both shot each other mishcheveous smiles, causing Aizawa to groan as he settled into the chair.
Over the next several hours Midoriya would be subjected to checkups and worried visits from teachers, friends, and his mom.
After the last group of class 1-a students left Midoriya was left in a room with Aizawa, All Mihgt, Eri, Recovery Girl, and his mom- all who insisted on staying till visiting hours were over, except Recovery Girl who left after she checked the boy over herself.
Once the nurse was finished the small group was left in silence. The silence quickly went away as Eri chose to ramble on about what was happening while Midoriya was unconscious.
When visiting hours were over the group slowly departed- Eri and Aizawa left first, his teacher stating that he had to make sure Eri and the rest of Class 1-a went to sleep and followed curfew.
Once the pair was gone All Might and his mom debated on who would stay the night with Midoriya, before setting on the fact that his mom had work in the morning while All Might's only responsibilities were to watch over Midoriya.
As his mom started to leave the room she paused before reaching into her bag and pulling out a famaliar camera, "I hope you don't mind but everyone needed a little something to cheer them up and I stumbled across this."
Midoriya grabbed the camera, waving goodbye to his mom one last time. All Might followed his mom out of the room stating that he would be back once he walked his mom safetly back to her car.
Left alone in the room Midoriya flipped open the camera surprised to see a new file listed under his other videos, he clicked the file and watched a new video pop up.
"Is it rolling, now?" Ashido asked.
"Yes!" Ochako said from behind the camera.
In front of the screen was the rest of class 1-a gathered on the couches. Ochako rushed around the camera and joined them. Along with the rest of his class was the big three, Eri, All Might, and even Aizawa was in the edge of the frame.
"Hey Deku! I hope you don't mind we saw your videos! You're so sweet! We don't know when you're going to wake up but we all know you will pull through!" Ochako cheered.
The rest of the class cheered with her, although some of them looked like they had a whole lot less hope then she did. Eri looked the most disheartened and was looking over to the side, seemingly lost in thought.
"We thought we'd make this video for you, kero." Tsuyu said.
"Yeah! Hopefully you'll be able to see this video when you wake up and feel encouraged!" Ochako said.
"Yes! We hope this video means a lot to you, just like the videos of you have meant a lot to us." Iida spoke diligently.
Everyone is the room chimned in their agreements, even Aizawa seemed to slighlty nod at the words. The only one who didn't was Eri who still seemed to be lost in thought, until out of no where her head popped up and she looked at the camera in determanation.
The class continued to joke around on the camera for a minute before deciding that they'd end the video.
"I'll end it!" The previously quite Eri said.
The young girl walked up to the camera and grabbed it in her hands. She looked straight into the camera, determination still glissining in her eyes.
"I'll save you Deku."
