AU/SGU/FO: A powerful being from another universe appears on the Destiny just as Eli's time had run out. Stranded on the ship he has to figure out how to go home and the best way is to help the crew of Destiny.

Season Seven – 'Tempus Magnarum'

Premise:

The crew of Destiny exited stasis only to discover two new passengers from another universe, which have spent their time fixing the ship. After some deliberations, they choose to keep them onboard as their newest allies.

As an Ancient seed ship tries to kill them, they set out to discover the reason. Tasking the SGC to assist, Diablo hopes for some results but the lack of progress prompts his decision to return to the Milky Way Galaxy.

Returning to Earth surprisingly fast, Diablo makes use of a base of a race as old as the Ancients. Firmly decided not to share them, he joins the SGC to expedite matters and while things develop fast uncovering the Ancients' history proves more challenging than anticipated.

But Diablo provides the SGC with invaluable information on the location of the fabled Clava Thessara Infinitas and that changed everything for Earth. SGC moves to reveal the Stargate program to the public in order to gain the benefits from it.

Meanwhile on the other side of the universe, Destiny continues on its course set out million years ago hoping for a better future.

Chapter 1

Ten years later...

It seemed like yesterday when Diablo made the most unbelievable claim – the location of Clava Thessara Infinitas and demanded the most outrageous thing – the full disclosure of the Stargate program to the public of the world.

No one could have predicted the outcome of that request. The IOA had gathered and discussed in length this request and the potential benefits of the mythical treasure. They had to take him on faith that was worth all the trouble that this would invite after disclosing the truth. He had told them he would help as he had lived through it on a planet with considerably larger population.

The IOA involved all the governments of the world and their parliaments. This revelation was made under closely controlled environment. Everyone was flown to a top-secret location and after signing a bunch of life-threatening documents it was revealed to all. It had taken some time for all to understand the implications and the changes for the future. But in the end after much heated discussions, the ratification became reality. Documents of it were flown to Geneva and The Hague, and the vault of each country.

But even when presented with the officially signed document, Diablo still did not reveal the location. He reminded them that will occur after the disclosure. There were some more heated discussions. And then they all remembered that to be worthy of the knowledge they will have to be worthy. So, they had to take a huge leap of faith and they did.

It was as predicted the public was outraged that the governments of the world have kept this secret for so long right under everyone's nose. It almost created the world equivalent of the French Revolution. But everything remained within acceptable parameters. And that surprised those who revealed it in the first place.

As Diablo told them, everything had to develop incrementally, naturally. Nothing can be rushed and shushed. Anything that would jeopardize the full disclosure had to be stopped before it made things much worse. They had to have faith in their people. After all they did elect them for better or worse. Now it was the time for the politicians to shine.

Not everyone was thrilled to learn that the military was in control of the most powerful weapons on the planet but they were not exactly surprised. All new technologies always started with them. That is how the Internet was developed as a project for DARPA, and so many others.

In the most heated areas, Diablo would go and basically answer the Q&A of the people. All noticed the positive effect that brought. All people came to see the alien from another universe. The people asked all sorts of questions from the most trivial to the most heavy and important ones and Diablo did not disappoint. He answered truthfully to each. Many of the political bodies found that dangerous but for their surprise it was what the people wanted to hear.

The process of acceptance however was not that easy. That took them nearly five years before all parties were more or less satisfied. As Diablo now spent his time quelling fires, the search of the Ancients was put on hold, and while the SGC continued their efforts their progress was slow.

The peoples of the world demanded for changes. These changes included the formation of many new bodies of governance, public committees, oversight agencies, and a proper space agency (one that covered all nations in the world and where they had an equal voice). It was the beginning of a world parliament and government, at least for all matters of space.

The SGC underwent a complete overhaul. The first change was the custody of the SGC. It was no longer in the hands of the USA or the IOA. A new agency was assigned to overlook its transformation. Its leaders however were not moved at the time. The people felt that these officers were the most competent and they should stay, as well as the flag team – SG1.

The Stargate was moved away from the USA though. It was placed on neutral ground where a new complex was built again deep underground and proper defensive measures were taken in its construction and protection. And it was to house units from all countries or a mixture of those.

Every new candidate had to complete the Stargate Academy (the official name was annoyingly more of a mouthful so its slang became its name in time). People of all backgrounds could be part of it, even criminals. Diablo had argued that governments and companies spend a lot of money to maintain prisoners. So, why not, redirect the effort to something more productive.

At first there had been a lot of resistance, mostly from the companies owning and maintaining the prisons. But as usual, Diablo found a compromise. The world governments would lower the minimum requirements for them and in exchange the prisons would provide the work force wherever and for whatever needed.

Stargate Academy grew in size quickly and produced its first graduates that were to board the newly commissioned space ships, the next generation. The first ship of that generation was dubbed the USS Terra BC320.

It was bigger than its predecessors though still in the same form. It could house twenty-four F302s and eight F604s. The latter was the new generation of space fighters. They were not in the same form as the mongoose. They were arrow shaped and resembled more the Awing of Star Wars, making some fans very happy and enthusiastic.

They were shielded and had nearly twice the speed of the F302s. However, unlike the F302s they were not hyperspace worthy as their purpose was essentially the protection of their carrier.

The BC320 had faster sublight but not faster hyperspace. For the moment, the lack of proper power sources was limiting the speed limit for the ships. Still, it was an impressive vessel as it housed not only military personnel but also a contingent of scientists or as Diablo called them a bunch of yahoos.

But it did not stop there with the construction of the new generation warships. Many shipyards appeared on the ground and in space as the need to explore and uncover the history of the Ancients were essential, and of course exploring the galaxy was also part of it.

This was a whole new industry and it was swallowing many others. But again, Diablo found a compromise. He explained that the industries that were to die had only to be transformed elsewhere. The miners were most concerned but he did explain that mining is an essential on any planet so whether on Earth or another planet, their skill will be needed.

The importance of the countries' government had started to decline as everything had become so much bigger. A new system was necessary. And also, Diablo explained, the aliens they would eventually meet will not care who is American or French or whatever, they would care only from world you are from. And while the countries' government seemed less important, they were not obsolete. As Diablo explained, the world still needed its governments to govern the local territories.

These days were dubbed Diebus Revolutionis or as some might put it the days of Revolution, the days of change, the day the Earth did not stand still.

As everything was done the way Diablo had requested them and the people's thirst was quelled (which took nearly 5 more years), it was time for him to keep his end of the bargain and reveal the location of Clava Thessara Infinitas.

He gathered them in his hangar at Area 51. It contained the brass and history geeks of the world (many of those archaeologists that ridiculed Dr. Jackson felt humiliated and humbled when they understood that he was right all along). Of course, in the first row were SG1 and the leadership of the SGC.

Diablo arrived shortly after everyone had gathered. He knew this day will be remembered for days and years to come. But it was not that simple as he had discovered the location not the treasure itself though he believed it was there. He was certain as his research had shown that whoever built it is still around.

"Good morning," Diablo greeted. "I have to say you all have conducted yourselves with great patience, dignity and honour when facing the harsh public judgement. Now that everything is back on track, we can move to what you bargained for."

Avatar appeared and the lights were switched off. Darkness overtook the hangar, and then lights appeared. They represented the cosmos or at least the Milky Way but at the time of the Ancients.

"Now, you would recall from your pamphlets that many have sought the treasure. For those that we know of we have Athena and Ketesh of the Goa'uld, and of our own Dr. Jackson and his sidekick at the time Moros (commonly known as Merlin) ..."

Daniel Jackson could hardly call Merlin his sidekick. It was the other way around. But the reason he moved was because Diablo had mentioned after him Anubis. While he was not surprised, he would go after it, there was no evidence of that otherwise he would have gloated about in the Ascension Inn.

"There is no evidence that Anubis had gone after the treasure, and..."

"Actually, Dr. Jackson, there is." Avatar interrupted him. "I have scoured all the religions of the world, the myths and legends, and even far-fetched stories. Imagine our surprise when in one of them, there was an account for exactly that.

Anubis, the dark god of the underworld, had just resurfaced from his exile when he found the Scrolls of Vishvakarma (known also as Tvastar). The scrolls showed the blueprints for a chariot for a particular God on his way to the Great Treasure (महान खजाना also known as the Mahaan Khajaana)."

Daniel has heard of this god. It was a Hindu god of crafts however nothing suggested that the Great treasure was what they were looking for. That all changed when Avatar showed them a representation of the scrolls. The chariot resembled a lot an Ancient warship though smaller like a shuttle. On it, however, Daniel spotted the link he was missing – a gate address or at least parts of it as the symbols were not placed in a way that would produce one.

"The account of this event was recorded by a scribe of the Vishvakarma's temple. Vishvakarma, himself, had greeted Anubis and passed him the scrolls. Anubis in turn had a strange metal in hand that he gave to the Hindu god."

The holographic images showed that depiction. Daniel was very surprised. The representation of Anubis was very accurate.

"Thank you, Avatar." Diablo said and continued. "These parties, except Anubis, believed that the answer lied with the Rosetta stone shown here and the gate address on it. But as Dr. Jackson and SG1 proved there was nothing there. And then there was a mere mention in some texts of it but nothing concrete."

"That's right." Daniel nodded. "It is nothing but hoax…"

"And this is what its creator wanted everyone to believe. Anubis was the only exception to the rule. I imagine he wanted to see if he's as smart as he took himself for."

"Anubis did not find it."

"No, Anubis did not go personally. He sent one of his clones for that. He, himself, was busy preparing his dominion over the other System Lords. But as the clone did not return to usurp him, he assumed he had perished in his task or ran away. Either way, Anubis did not bother with it again.

Sometime before attacking the System Lords, he went looking for the scroll as the board of enemies now included Earth. But to his surprise it was not there and he barely recalled anything from it. So, he was left with looking for other things that could help him win."

"How do you know that?" O'Neill asked.

"Well, strangely enough, O'Neill, some of those pesky Jaffa have very loose tongues when properly motivated."

General O'Neill could not fathom how he managed to interrogate a Jaffa without their knowledge, not to mention why the Jaffa did not mention that. But then again, it was possible that they did not attribute that much weight on such an incident as they would have.

The image of the chariot returned. "Here, you can see about twenty symbols but this is merely a representation not the original scroll. If I had to venture a guess, I would say there were 36 symbols and only a part of them were the real deal."

"We have never seen a ship like that." General Landry noted.

"That is also true, General Landry." Diablo agreed. "I suspect it is well hidden, like cloaked for instance. But the ship itself is not the important part, the glyphs are."

"But as we do not have the real thing, we can't speculate on the address." Avatar added.

"Also very true, but we do not need the scrolls of the Hindu. You see, Dr. Jackson, our Ancient friend was very smart. Yes, it is an Ancient who hid the treasure. He created a puzzle so complicated and yet so simple that it could make even the firmest believer have doubts of its existence.

Why you may ask? Well, I told you – you must be worthy of it. So, the creator made it nearly impossible to find. He left but a few clues along the way and made everything in his power to remove anything else from history."

"So does it exist or not?" General Landry asked. He was getting impatient with the slow entanglement of Diablo's explanations.

"Patience is a virtue, general. So, be patient." Diablo said. "You see Dr. Jackson, the two Goa'ulds and even Merlin were all wrong. You see you all thought that the treasure was hidden millions of years ago but you see it wasn't.

The holding place where the treasure is might have been built a long time ago but the treasure itself was placed somewhat recently. You see, the Ancients, moved the treasure with them wherever they went. Why? I imagine because it was the safest place for it to be.

Now the creator of this puzzle made sure that the knowledge of it floats already in whispers, bare mentions, myths and legends."

"Recent?"

"Yeah, I suppose two thousand years ago, give or take a few hundred."

"But if that is the case, Merlin would have known about it." Daniel objected.

"Oh, no, he wouldn't. I think the creator was aware of the Atlanteans but he was not part of them. You see for a time I believed that the reason Merlin did not know was because the treasure was placed in its current resting place over ten thousand years ago.

But you see that changed when I had a deeper chat with our friend, Mr. Wallace. You see, Dr. Jackson, two thousand years ago at the birth of Christianity, or just before it became a religion, a bunch of Ancients came along and helped create it."

"What?"

"Well, Jesus and his apostles, well not all of them, were on Destiny, and Eli met them."

There was silence before him. The effect of these words was profound. Diablo recanted the events as Eli had and how they tied to his near death when Diablo and Viz had arrived.

"But you see this is where things get complicated. Our Ancient friend was also on Destiny. When I first scanned the pods of the ascended ones, I noticed something peculiar. The pod had registered the entering of a normal person in it and then a spike of energy. Now at the time, I assumed that this person ascended in the pod but that is not the case.

But then I had Viz recheck it. And do you know what he found? The spike of energy happened almost immediately after the person had entered the pod. Now, your Ancients are good at ascending but no one can ascend this fast unless he was already ascended."

"How does this fit into your story?" Dr. Jackson asked as he had started to lose the thread of things.

"The creator of the puzzle has created one hell of mess in the time stream. When he learnt that humans have taken custody of all Ancient technologies, he had noticed that the treasure he protected was not among the things you have discovered.

Now, there could be a number of reasons for that but I am sure he realized that he is the reason for that. I believe he went back in time to hide more properly the knowledge of the treasure. So, he went back as far as he could to ensure that the knowledge of it is nothing but a mere whisper. And to do so, he did unspeakable things."

"You can't know that for sure?" Carter exclaimed.

"Oh, but I do. You remember Avatar saying that he scoured all sources of knowledge, yes? "

"Yeah,"

"Well, there are number of reports of deities, kings, emperors, foot soldiers, priests, and many others who have lost time. That usually happens when you have lost your memory. And while that is not an uncommon event, what is however is when you lose track of how you got somewhere.

You see I think he took a page from the Goa'uld and started to possess people. If the Ancients truly realize what he has done they would stop at nothing to erase him from time. The only way to ensure that the treasure remains in the open and safe was to remove the knowledge from, those who possess it, even from the heads of his own people."

"That is a very risky move." Landry observed.

"Oh, yeah, how would you recall something that you can't remember at all? Weird, right? So, the question then became why did not he hide the treasure a longer time ago, now that he had erased all knowledge from it? Well, I think he changed things. The first time around he did hide it just shy of a few thousand years ago.

But when he started to meddle with time, he changed strategy. He began placing parts of it periodically in its hiding place. For what reason, he decided to do so, I truly do not know. But we deviated a lot from the main topic."

Diablo sat down to have a small drink and continued. "So, how did I find the impossible thing to find? When the Ancients came to this galaxy, the gate was either not built yet or there was only one.

From Destiny's logs and the ship, itself, we know that the original gates are much like the ones on Destiny. Then the design changed and it became the model that you know today, at least for the Milky Way, and then the ones in the Pegasus.

But you see they all have one thing in common – well actually two things in common. And they are, General Carter?"

Samantha Carter struggled to follow his logic. The gates were all roughly the same size, all with glyphs, and the same parts. "I am not sure where you are going with this."

"Ok, so the gates are all like pancakes with inner rings and 36 glyphs, on the exception of the Earth gate that has 38, correct?"

"Yeah,"

"What else do they have in common? "

"They all need energy…"

"No, no, in the design…"

Daniel had an epiphany. "The chevrons… "

"BINGO!" Diablo exclaimed happily. Finally, they were starting to pay attention. "And they have how many chevrons there, Doctor?"

"Nine,"

"Yes, they do." Diablo smiled. "Now, you all assumed that the address leading to the treasure is made of seven glyphs but that is not the truth."

"I don't follow."

"Jackson, let me ask you one question that will answer that."

"Go ahead."

"How many syllables are there in Clava Thessara Infinitas?"

To be continued…

And don't forget to review. It only takes a couple of minutes. Thank you!
