In the middle of the North Sea in between England and Denmark, was the toughest and most dangerous maximum security prison that ever exists in the world of Wizardry: It's the Wizarding World's version of Alcatraz that is reserved for the worlds most dangerous and more evil wizards: AZKABAN.

Azkaban is a fortress on an island in the middle of the North Sea. It serves the magical community of Great Britain as a prison for convicted criminals. Azkaban was built in the 15th century and it has been in use as a detention facility since 1718. Using certain Charms, Azkaban is hidden from the Muggle world, and is Unplottable.

As of Eldritch Diggory's visit in the 1730s or 1740s, a graveyard had been established on the island to accommodate those who have died in the prison. Most of the prisoners inside its walls died of despair, having lost the will to live. This is due to the presence of Dementor guards on the island. Dementors drain people of all happiness and leave them with their worst memories. Long-term exposure usually lead to insanity and even death.

While other wizarding prisons exist, such as Nurmengard (which was used exclusively to hold its creator Gellert Grindelwald's enemies and eventually himself), Azkaban is the only known fortress to be the "official" holding ground for British wizarding criminals.

The island in the North Sea on which the wizard prison is built has never appeared on any map, wizard or Muggle. It's first known resident, Ekrizdis, practised the worst kinds of Dark magic and constructed a fortress on the island, luring Muggle sailors there to torture and murder them. After his death, the various concealment charms placed on the island faded, and the Ministry of Magic became aware of the mysterious site's existence. Those who entered the deserted fortress to investigate discovered, among other horrors, an infestation of Dementors. The wizarding authorities of the time considered destroying the fortress, but, fearing reprisal by the dark entities or the island itself, decided against such action, and the Ministry allowed the sizeable colony to remain; the island was thus left unmolested and unchecked for many years, perhaps decades, until the International Statute of Secrecy was established.

Due to the impracticality of using small, local prisons, which could result in bangs, smells and light shows if inmates escaped, plans for a single, purpose-built wizarding prison on some remote Hebridean island were made at the passing of the International Statute of Secrecy. However, when Damocles Rowle was elected Minister for Magic in 1718, he insisted on using Azkaban instead, seeing the Dementors as a potential asset: putting them to work as guards would save expense, time, and lives. This plan was eventually put into motion and, despite protests, Azkaban remained the prison of the wizarding world until the end of the Second Wizarding War, primarily due to its zero breakout rate. From that point on, the Dementors served the Ministry as the guards of Azkaban, as the arrangement allowed them to feed on the emotions of the prisoners within its walls. Opposition to the use of Azkaban did manifest, however.

Somewhere between 1733 and 1747 Minister Eldritch Diggory visited Azkaban, and was horrified at the inhumane levels of despair and insanity that the Dementors induced in the prisoners. He formed a committee to find alternative solutions or mitigating measures, the least of which was to remove the Dementors; even this, however, met opposition from those who feared a mainland invasion if the Dementors were deprived of their food source. Diggory died of Dragon Pox while in office, and thus the campaign to find an alternative to Azkaban's Dementors stalled. Reversing his predecessor's position, when Minister Hesphaestus Gore took office, the prison was renovated and reinforced. No serious opposition to the continued use of the prison arose in the next few centuries, and no Minister considered closing the prison until the Minister of Magic Kingsley Shacklebolt began major reforms of the entire Ministry in 1998.

Since 1717, using any of the three Unforgivable Curses on another human being has carried the punishment of a life sentence in Azkaban (unless there is sufficient evidence that the caster did so under the influence of the Imperius Curse, or legal exceptions made by the Ministry of Magic as in the case of Aurors in the First Wizarding War).

It was during the First Wizarding War that Bartemius Crouch Senior, Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the time, sentenced many suspects to Azkaban without a trial. While this allowed many Death Eaters to be imprisoned without giving them a chance to escape by manipulating courts, it also resulted in wrongful imprisonment of innocents, such as Sirius Black. Many citizens of the magical community supported this move, due to the terror of Lord Voldemort gripping the nation; it was only when the war ended and peace began to sink in did people saw Crouch's actions were too harsh. It was also during the first war that Alastor Moody, famous Auror, captured many Death Eaters, which resulted in "half the cells in Azkaban are full thanks to him".

During the Second Wizarding War, in which the Death Eaters took over the Ministry, the prison also fell into their usage. They released all of their comrades and falsely cleared them, while sentencing many innocent Muggle-borns and other enemies of theirs to Azkaban under sham trials and trumped-up charges. Also, the Dementors were given more areas to reign upon than simply guarding the inmates. Some Muggle-borns did not survive the ordeal in Azkaban, a reason why Dolores Umbridge was given a life sentence after the Death Eaters were defeated.

Azkaban earned a reputation as a horrific place, mostly due to the Dementors. Because of these creatures, most prisoners eventually went insane and slowly died under the Dementors' depressive influence, having lost their will to live and even stopped eating. Even those who survived to be released would remain traumatised by their experiences within the prison: Marvolo Gaunt was left heavily weakened during his six-month sentence, which may have been a contributing factor to his early death, while Rubeus Hagrid can remember how miserable he was there even long after his release. Even Sirius Black and Bellatrix Lestrange's physical appearances are tell tale signs of their deterioration within the prison, losing most of their great aristocratic looks. The Dementors' primary concern was their supply of human emotions to feed upon and, disregarding the prisoners' release terms, seemed unhappy to let them go. However, many denizens of the wizarding community remained happy that it was the Dementors who guard the prisoners, believing that they are what keeps these dangerous people inside the remote fortress. On the other hand, there had been many who opposed the idea of keeping Lord Voldemort's most dangerous followers in the hands of such dark creatures, fearing that their loyalty could easily be swayed to Voldemort's side through bargains of which the Ministry could not compete with, perhaps one day handing the prisoners the key to their unjust freedom.

Azkaban was guarded by Dementors until most of them revolted and joined Lord Voldemort. As a result, Voldemort's Death Eaters escaped together to rejoin their master in both 1996 and 1997.

There is most likely an Anti-Apparition jinx on Azkaban; if there were not, wizards and witches could simply Apparate from the prison to the outside world. However, since it is debatable that most witches and wizards need a wand to Apparate, this may be irrelevant, as none of the prisoners maintain possession of their wands. Most of the prisoners would barely have had enough strength to Apparate anyway, as the mere presence of Dementors, particularly in large numbers, inhibits the use of magical powers.

Before the Dementors' revolt, the only people ever to escape the prison were Barty Crouch Jr and Sirius Black, in 1982 and 1993, respectively. Barty Crouch Jr was smuggled out by his father, Barty Crouch Sr., and replaced by his dying mother using Polyjuice Potion, while Sirius was able to escape by changing into his Animagus form of a dog. Another mass breakout occurred in 1997 (most likely in the summer) but was covered up by the Ministry for political reasons.

There is a graveyard on the island outside the wall of Azkaban where the Dementors buried prisoners who died. However, if the dead prisoner has a relative who is not a criminal, the relative in question has the right to pick up the corpse for a proper burial, as Barty Crouch Snr had the right to pick up the body that was disguised as his son, though he chose not to due to fear of being exposed of committing a jailbreak.

Although the prison is in the middle of the ocean with iron walls protecting it, it was unnecessary to keep prisoners inside, as Remus Lupin stated, because the prisoners were already trapped in their own heads due to the intense depression caused by the Dementors. As Sirius indicated, most prisoners went insane after a short while, and some even stopped eating, preferring death to their lives within Azkaban.

Visits to the island are heavily restricted, as only respectable Ministry officials were noted to be allowed to visit with any possible relatives. An example is when Barty Crouch Snr and his wife were allowed a deathbed visit to their imprisoned son due to the former's high status in the government; they took advantage of this privilege to smuggle Barty Jr out of prison. The Minister for Magic is also allowed to visit the prison, as to check out on certain prisoners on their conditions, as Cornelius Fudge did on Sirius Black. Arthur Weasley visited Azkaban on business once.

After the end of the Second Wizarding War and Kingsley Shacklebolt's appointment as Minister for Magic in 1998, Dementors were no longer employed as guards of Azkaban. This was likely because they had proven to be untrustworthy, and because the depression and madness their presence caused in prisoners was considered inhumane.

Ever since they were removed, Aurors have been guarding the prison, taking turns so that a certain number of Aurors are assigned to stand guard, before leaving to return to fieldwork, with other Aurors taking their place. It is unknown how many surviving Voldemort supporters and Death Eaters were imprisoned in the aftermath. Them aside, any Ministry officials who knowingly and willingly went with Voldemort's ideologies during the time when the Ministry was under his control, mainly the Muggle-Born Registration Commission, were sentenced to Azkaban, the most prominent being Dolores Umbridge, for her crimes against humanity (and, more specifically, Muggle-borns). The new security system has proven effective, as no breakouts have occurred since it was implemented, until 2020 in which Rodolphus Lestrange escaped a third time, to report to his wife's illegitimate daughter about her heritage and destiny.

Me and Nico were at the front gates of Azkaban and it was a terrifying place.

Me: Wow. So this is Azkaban and it's way out here in the middle of the North Sea.

Nico: Yeah. Hard to believe that no one know's it's out here.

Me: Yeah. And we're going to do the world a huge favor and kill all of Voldemort's followers and send all of their fucking butts off to hell.

Nico: Yep. I can't believe the Ministry Of Magic Council agreed with this.

Me: Was there ever any doubt?

FLASHBACK

45 minutes ago, me and Nico went into the chamber of the Ministry Of Magic and we were standing before the Supreme Wizard Tribunal.

Head Elder Wizard: (British Accent) Ah welcome J.D. Knudson.

Me: Greetings to you all honorable council of magic. I apologize for not coming to visit you all in a while. We've been out saving the world and the universe.

Head Elder Wizard: That is quite all right. Who is this with you?

Me: Oh I apologize. This is one of my best friends and one of my 2nd In Command.

Nico: Pleasure to meet you all. I'm Nicolas Chan, but everyone calls me Nico. I'm one of the 2nd in command of Team Loud Phoenix Storm.

Head Elder Wizard: It's an honor and pleasure to meet you Master Nico.

Nico: Same to you.

Me: We apologize for calling this meeting. But it's very important.

2nd Elder Wizard: (British Accent) What does it entail?

I pulled out a scroll given to me by Albus Dumbledore and what it had was interesting. It was a powerful document for a rule called Doctrine 62: "Azkaban Dark Wizard Execution" and it was to execute the following evil wizards immediately:

ANTONIN DOLOHOV
JUGSON
BELLATRIX LESTRANGE
RODOLPHUS LESTRANGE
LUCIOUS MALFOY
MULCIBER
NOTT
AUGUSTUS ROOKWOOD

Elder Head Wizard: This is a very powerful document J.D. May I ask what Albus wants with the deaths of all these evil wizards?

Me: We found out that Lord Voldemort and his Death Eaters are going to return.

Everyone gasped.

Me: I know this is a huge shock. But I have knowledge of future events that are going to take place and we have to make sure that he doesn't return.

I showed them all the events of the future and what they saw was all shocking!

Head Elder Wizard: I can't believe this. He Who Must Not Be Named is going to return and all these wizards are to blame for his return?

2nd Elder Wizard: This is a nightmare. I see why you are trying to kill all these wizards: It's to make sure that they don't resurrect him.

Me: That's correct honorable council. I know this is very shocking. But if we don't kill all of Voldemort's followers, he will return and he will plunge the whole planet into chaos by causing the genocide of all of the muggles in the name of Salazar Slytherin. 7.3 Billion of them. He calls it the noble work of Salazar Slytherin. I call it cold-blooded murder and acts of terrorism and genocide. The ultimate acts of pure evil are genocide and murder.

Head Elder Wizard: I can't argue with you there. And if all this will happen when Voldemort returns, then the world will be in terrible danger. Lets vote on this. All in favor of executing Doctrine 62: Azkaban Dark Wizard Execution, say Aye.

Council: Aye!

We saw all the hands go up.

Head Elder Wizard: Anyone oppose? Say Nay.

No one opposed.

Head Elder Wizard: It's unanimous. You have permission to execute those monsters.

Me: With pleasure honorable council.

Nico: We'll make them pay.

Head Elder Wizard: You two are dismissed. We appreciate you telling us this and thank you all for bringing back Hogwarts and all those senselessly killed by Voldemort.

Me: It was our pleasure honorable council.

We left.

FLASHBACK ENDS

Me: You ready Nico?

Nico: Always ready buddy.

Me and Nico flared up our auras and the Dementors followed us. We went into Azkaban and it was a horrifying prison. It was like stepping through the Gates Of Hell! We walked all around the prison and fired energy blasts at the prisoners we got permission to execute and we were blasting them. The Dementors were using the Dementors Kiss on some of them and they were sucking their souls out and sending them off to Hell. I killed Antonin Dolohov, Jugson and Bellatrix Lestrange. Nico killed Rodolphus Lestrange and Lucious Malfoy and the Dementors killed the rest.

Me: You fucking wizard scum have failed this world and this universe.

Nico: Hey! That was my line!

Me: Well you were gonna say it anyway buddy.

Nico: Yeah that's true.

Me: If Voldemort is watching this, he can take all his fucking followers with him to Hell. But now we have another task down the road.

Nico: What is it?

Me: We have to find and destroy the 7 Horcruxes of Lord Voldemort. They are special artifacts that have pieces of his soul inside him. When Voldemort killed all those people in cold blood, he had a piece of his soul transferred into an artifact and because of that, his spirit is forever trapped in Limbo. He can't even go into the afterlife until all 7 Horcruxes are found and destroyed.

Nico: What are the artifacts that have been turned into Horcruxes?

Me: They are Tom Riddle's Diary, Helga Hufflepuff's Cup, Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem, Salazar Slytherin's Locket, Marvolo Gaunt's Ring, and Voldemort's pet snake Nagini.

Nico: That's only 6 of them.

Me: Yes. But the 7th Horcrux is Harry Potter himself.

Nico gasped.

Nico: But how?

Me: When Voldemort killed Lily and James Potter, he made Harry Potter the 7th Horcrux by giving him the Lightning Bolt shape scar on his forehead.

Nico: That's beyond ultimate evil!

Me: It is. But I managed to get rid of the fragment of Voldemort's soul inside him. It was because of Voldemort's soul fragment that he was able to speak the language of the snakes: Parseltongue.

Nico: So that's how he was able to talk to Lana's snake like that.

Me: Yeah.

FLASHBACK 2

Lana had Harry Potter in her room.

Lana: Hey Harry I read all your books and watched all your movies and they were so awesome! I read from Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets that you were able to speak in Parseltongue.

Harry Potter: (British Accent) I sure can Lana. It was because of Voldemort that I have this power.

Lana: Can you show me by talking to El Diablo?

Harry Potter: I sure can.

Lana brought out El Diablo and Harry Potter spoke in Parseltongue. It was a strange language and it was really cool. He said "My name is Harry Potter." The snake said "It's a pleasure to meet you Harry."

Lana: That is so cool!

Harry Potter: Thank you Lana.

Me: I agree. But I found out something terrifying.

I revealed that Harry Potter was made a Horcrux when Voldemort killed his parents. The scar acts as a connection with him and Lord Voldemort. I used my magic on him to sever the connection. It destroyed the connection and the scar remained. I also destroyed the portion of the soul that was inside him.

FLASHBACK 2 ends.

Nico: My god. That is awful. But thank goodness that didn't kill him for good.

Me: Yeah. So we have 6 more Horcruxes to destroy.

Nico: Yep.

We later went back home.

Back home, Qin was cuddling Kirby.

Qin: (cuddles Kirby) You're just so cute, Kirby.

Maria: Hey! Don't hog Kirby all to yourself.

Maria was cuddling Kirby as well.

Kirby: I know I'm a cute guy.

William: Hey, Kirby. How about you tell Qin about your origin story?

Kirby: Good idea.

Kirby went over his history.

Kirby is a small, pink, spherical alien with red feet, stubby flap-like arms and pink cheek-blushes. He is referred to as male in the animated series, and described as a young boy in the instruction manual for Kirby's Dream Land. His body is soft and flexible, allowing him to stretch his mouth to inhale foes or inflate himself with air and float. According to Super Smash Bros. instruction manual, he is 8 inches tall; this is contradicted in Kirby's Dream Land 3 and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, the former of which shows Kirby to be at about knee height compared to Samus Aran and the latter of which showing him to be a few inches shorter than the human girl Adeleine.

Kirby hails from the country of Dream Land on Planet Popstar, where he lives in a domed house. His appearance has changed subtly over the years, becoming more rounded and defined, mainly in his face and larger eyes. The new design has been used in all subsequent games.

Kirby does not commonly speak, mainly limited to grunts, shouts, and monosyllables in such games as Super Smash Bros and Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards. However he does speak in the stories written in some games' instruction manuals. He rarely speaks in-game, the only exception being Kirby's Avalanche. He narrates the functions of Copy Abilities on the start menu in Kirby: Nightmare in Dream Land, Kirby & the Amazing Mirror and Kirby: Squeak Squad. Most in-game talking Kirby does is in Kirby's Star Stacker, where Kirby explains the game's rules and gameplay. Kirby has dialogue in Kirby's Epic Yarn, but it is all spoken through the game's narrator.

Qin: Wow! That's amazing!

Maria: You have an amazing history.

Lily Loud: 27 years worth of history. His first game came out in 1992.

Lana: That is awesome!

Lily Loud: Back in the old days, King Dedede used to be Kirby's arch nemesis.

Maria: I remember that.

Wildrider: Kirby, exactly how old are you right now?

Kirby: Lets see. I would say that I am 7 years old.

Everyone gasped in shock.

Laney: Wow! 7-Years Old!

Tiff: That is amazing!

Me and Nico came back.

Me: We're back.

Lana: Hey guys.

Nico: All of Voldemort's followers are dead.

Me: And burning in hell.

Lana: Good riddance.

Me: Yep.

Later we were watching an old show from my past: Challenge of the Super Friends. The Super Friends were what the Justice League was called before they were called that. They consisted of Superman, Batman, Robin, Green Lantern, Hawkman, Wonder Woman, The Flash, Aquaman, and three heroes we haven't met yet: Apache Chief, Black Vulcan and Samurai.

As originally aired, this season an adventure with Superman, Batman and Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and the Wonder Twins, similar to those that had aired the previous season in The All-New Super Friends Hour. Thanks to these episodes being shown using the opening credits of the All-New Super Friends Hour in syndication.

Second segment

The second segment of this season featured Challenge of the Super Friends, a 16 episode series that came the closest to the comic books. Not only did Challenge have the Justice League of America, it was the first official Super Friends series to feature DC Super Villains from the comics. And this series had 13 of them together as an alliance called the Legion of Doom. Superman foes like Lex Luthor, Brainiac, Toyman, and Bizarro, and Batman foes like the Riddler and Scarecrow. The Legion of Doom dwelled in a murky swamp and launched their attacks for global conquest from a sinister looking, swamp-based, mechanical, flying headquarters, called the Hall of Doom (which resembled Darth Vader's helmet) as a suitable contrast with the Super Friends' gleaming Hall of Justice. Every week, the Legion schemed to either get rid of or destroy the Super Friends so they can conquer the world. The Super Friends themselves consisted of 11 Justice League heroes. The first segment alone being used with the Challenge of Super Friends opening, and confused references to the show it is often mistakenly believed that the first and second segments were two separate shows.

And together they face a Legion Of Doom that is considered really incompetent. They faced Lex Luthor,

Lex Luthor is the founder and CEO of LexCorp. He grew to resent Superman when he stole his spotlight as Metropolis' savior, and usually invested heavily in some of the Man of Steel's greatest foes, such as Metallo and Livewire. He sought to kill Superman for shutting down his major operations and costing him a lot of money. Although Superman already put away many of Luthor's co-conspirators, he could never convict Luthor himself due to lack of evidence. He was also known for his betrayals on many associates, causing many to leave LexCorp; the only one left was Mercy Graves. Lex also is shown to hate Batman as well, as he is an intellectual rival who teamed up with Superman to fight him when he and Joker teamed up, preventing Superman from being killed by Joker's kryptonite in the process. In Legacy, he was thrilled, the whole world turned against Superman when Darkseid brainwashed him and let him loose to take over and invade Earth. But Superman snapped out of it and earned the world's trust back and dismissed the charges against him.

Justice League

Luthor later fought the Justice League, but was subsequently defeated, exposed as a crook, and sentenced to prison. He also learned that he had a terminal form of radiation poisoning as a result of carrying around a chunk of Kryptonite for years, leaving him with only a few more months to live. He then joined up with Cheetah, Star Sapphire, Shade, Copperhead (who would be in jail and replaced by theJoker), Solomon Grundy and Ultra-Humanite, forming the Injustice Gang, in an attempt take down the Justice League, but failed. Luthor later "redeemed" himself by aiding the Justice League in defeating the Justice Lords and was given a full pardon.

Justice League Unlimited

After being freed from prison and cleared of all charges, Luthor reestablished his company and later entered politics and ran in the U.S. Presidential Elections. However, still bent on destroying Superman, he created Project Cadmus and succeeded in ruining the Justice League's reputation twice: once by causing Superman and Captain Marvel to fight each other, causing great destruction in the city, and again by taking control of the Watchtower's orbital cannon and causing it to fire on a Cadmus-related building in New Mexico.

Luthor's malevolent plans were later exposed by Batman and the Justice League, only for Brainiac to reveal that he had been dormant inside Lex ever since the episode Ghost in the Shell. Luthor later convinced Brainiac to fuse with him because they both could reach their ultimate goals. He then battled the Justice League, proving to be one of the group's most difficult foes. However, the Flash was able to separate the two after tapping into the Speed Force.

Luthor went back to jail with a damaged psyche. After Luthor escaped prison again thanks to The Key, Gorilla Grodd offered him membership in the newly formed Legion of Doom. Joining only to revive and refuse with Brainiac, Luthor eventually overthrew Grodd and took over the Legion (who did not oppose him after they learned Grodd's ultimate plan was to turn humanity into apes). Eventually, Lex's quest to revive Braniac lead the Legion into space, where he found a version of Brainiac that had been destroyed years earlier. However, Tala freed Grodd and he and a faction of the Legion fought Luthor and his supporters (which included the likes of Giganta, Bizarro, Toyman, Sinestro, Cheetah, Star Sapphire, Evil Star, etc.) After killing Grodd and trapping and absorbing Tala's magic to resurrect Brainiac, Lex discovers that he had accidentally resurrected Darkseid instead.

Luthor and the rest of the surviving Legion members barely escaped from Darkseid and made their way to Earth, where Luthor warned the Justice League, and he and his allies reluctantly team-up with them to fight against Darkseid and his army. Before the battle against Darkseid, Luthor points out to the Justice League that he doesn't want to help them save the world, but get revenge on Darkseid for destroying Brainiac and ruining his plans, before he and the Justice League go back in being enemies again as usual. He later left the battle with Metron and discovered the Anti-Life Equation. Returning to Earth with the Equation, he offered to share the knowledge with Darkseid, and they both disappeared in a spark of light. While they are presumed dead by the public, members of the Justice League have theorized they will eventually return yet again. However, both Luthor and Darkseid are now part of the Source Wall, that is the fate that occurs to all creature that solved the Anti-Life Equation, where they will remain likely for all eternity.

Vril Dox of the planet Colu A.K.A. Brainiac,

Brainiac becomes aware of Krypton's impending destruction, but finds the planet's destruction of little importance in contrast to the importance of all of Krypton's data. He thus abandons Krypton when the planet is about to be destroyed, and creates a new goal for himself: to collect all the data of a planet and then destroy the planet. He views this as forever preserving the completeness and uniqueness of this information. He also believes that the fewer beings who have the information, the more precious it becomes.

Years after Krypton's destruction, Brainiac kills a group of aliens and pilots their ship to Earth. Intrigued that Kal-El (otherwise known as Superman) exists, he seeks to bond his DNA with that of Kal-El's to continue his quest for data. Superman destroys the Brainiac drone, but Brainiac continues to be a threat as he downloads his program into LexCorp's computers.

Brainiac orders Lex Luthor to rebuild his body at one point, and then injures Luthor with a laser beam. Superman defeats Brainiac again, however.

Eventually, Brainiac seemingly attacks Apokolips, but Darkseid secretly makes a deal with Brainiac to lure in Superman. Darkseid hacks into Brainiac's system and forces Brainiac to self-destruct, seemingly destroying Brainiac for good.

It is later revealed that Brainiac had spared Luthor only to ensure his survival inside of Luthor. Brainiac planned to implant his mind into that of an Amazo droid, but was stopped by the Justice League. Brainiac flees from the Justice League using Luthor's body. Luthor questions Brainiac's motivations enough to interest Brainiac, and the two merge together with Dark Heart nanotechnology to become an ultimate being. Brainiac desires Luthor's creativity and Luthor desires the power and knowledge that Brainiac has but otherwise has no idea what to do with.

Brainiac/Luthor decide to create a machine that will absorb data of planets in a single stroke, but they are stopped by the Flash.

Brainiac is seemingly gone from existence, but still exists within the mind of Luthor. Luthor discovers that Gorilla Grodd has the last existing piece of Brainiac. Luthor desperately tries multiple manners of activating the one scrap left of Brainiac but it does not work.

Eventually, Luthor goes to the location of Brainiac where he was destroyed and attempts to resurrect Brainiac using magic, but surprisingly resurrects Darkseid instead. The psychic link is shattered from Luthor, thus ending Brainiac forever. Luthor swears revenge on Darkseid, who now seems to have some of Brainiac's power as well.

Some fragment or contingency aspect of Brainiac makes an attempt through time travel to kill young Clark Kent in Smallville, but is opposed by the Legion of Super-Heroes, who are still hard-pressed to protect Clark and his human parents from the AI's rampage. Enraged by his family being endangered, young Clark exceeds his current potential and pummels the attacker. Brainiac's retreat is an erratic one, and he ends up flying into the sun, where he is clearly shown to be destroyed.

In a later Justice League Unlimited episode, Supergirl moves to the 30th Century for various reasons, one of which is to be with a hero called Brainiac 5, an organic whose connections to the AI are not made clear in this version.

A variant on this Brainiac, also voiced by Corey Burton, and having an aspect and motivations nearly identical to the DCAU version, appears on the Legion Of Super Heroes animated series. At first, he is merely a relic, a prior incarnation of the heroic Brainiac 5.0 (the original is called 1.0 in this) that 5.0 calls upon to solve a problem his current program cannot handle. He ultimately becomes the final Big Bad of Season 2, corrupting his 'descendant' Brainy into deep villainy, till Superman prevails upon his old friend to abandon that path. Seemingly destroyed, the remnants of 1.0 are shown at the tail-end of the final episode once more rebuilding themselves. While many things are the same between the two original Brainiacs, The Legion Of Super Heroes animated series is in a different continuity from the DCAU.

David Hyde A.K.A. Black Manta,

In the Flashpoint timeline, Black Manta was an enforcer in Aquaman's Atlantean army alongside Ocean Master during his war against Wonder Woman and the Amazons, as well as the United States of America. His notable moment was showcasing his fighting skills as he faced off against Deathsroke were in Black Manta presumably killed him with his optic blasts. He is later killed by the combined efforts of Grifter and Batman shooting him to death in the face.

Justice League: Throne of Atlantis

Out of costume, Black Manta first appears observing Arthur Curry with Dr. Shin, a scientist with theories that Atlantis exists. While the doctor tries to approach Curry immediately after witnessing his strength, Black Manta advises him to talk to Arthur in the morning. Black Manta then has Dr. Shin assassinated during an attempt on Curry's life. Later, in Atlantis, he and Orm meet with Queen Atlanna, Orm's mother, to persuade her into starting a war with the surface world. After she rejects their idea to attack the humans, Black Manta uses missiles loaded into his submarine to attack Atlantis, framing the surface world. Orm and Black Manta then demand that the Queen starts a war for the alleged act of terrorism from the surface. However, Queen Atlanta still refuses to strike and tells Manta to arrange a meeting with the Justice League to discuss a peace treaty.

After his men fail to kill Orm's half brother, Arthur Curry, Orm kills Queen Atlanta, and usurps the throne of Atlantis, once again framing the humans for killing his mother. After Orm becomes the "Ocean Master" and Arthur becomes "Aquaman", the Atlantean army wages war with the surface and the Justice League. Black Manta later faces off against Aquaman and has the upper hand until the end of their fight. Black Manta reveals to have manipulated Orm into starting a war with the surface and plans to kill Orm and claim the treasures of Atlantis for himself when the time is right. Just as he is revealing his scheme, Aquaman summons a great white shark from the harbor to attack Black Manta, biting the villain and bringing him into the ocean.

Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay

Black Manta resurfaces as a mercenary working for Amanda Waller. He briefly appears when he escorts the Suicide Squad to their mission through a custom submarine.

Sinestro,

In the episode Brightest Day, after Superman discovers Abin Sir, who tells him to protect the Green Lantern before succumbing to his injuries, Sinestro pops onto the scene. After using his ring to search the the pod for traces of the Green ring, Sinestro assumes Superman took it and begins attacking and overpowering him. However, Sinestro soon realizes that Superman truly doesn't have the ring and crushes him with a giant hammer before flying off, unknown to him, Superman survives the attack and ends up finding Abin Sur's Lantern and teleports himself to Oa.

Meanwhile Sinestro finally locates Kyle Rayner, the new owner of Abin Sur's ring, and starts attacking him, demanding him to hand over the ring. However, Kyle states that he and the ring "have become attached" and then confuses him by entrapping him inside a construct of bubblegum like matter. Sinestro and Kyle continue fighting through Metropolis until Sinestro manages to grab Kyle using a giant hand construct and begins to crush him. Kyle then creates a boot construct and kicks Sinestro in the face before getting hit back and discovering that he can use the ring to pass through walls before continuing to battle him.

On Oa, the Guardian of the Universe explain to Superman that Sinestro was once one of the Green Lanterns until he stopped using his ring responsibly and they deemed him unfit to wield it. Sinestro would then discover a new kind of Ring and started killing other Green Lanterns, gaining more power from every ring he destroyed. Back on Earth, Sinestro prepares to kill Kyle Rayner after his ring runs out of power, however, Superman returns just in time and saves Rayner from Sinestro's attack.

Later on, Sinestro manages to catch up to Superman and Kyle Rayner and Superman goes off and fights Sinestro so Kyle can charge his Ring, however, he ends up trapped in a large drill construct and ends up burrowing into the ground. Kyle, after fully charging the Ring, then throws a mountaintop at Sinestro, crushing him, although he survives and continues to fight Rayner. Sinestro then throws Kyle into a plane in a Ferris Aircrafts field and finally surrenders his ring to Sinestro, however, just as he puts it on, the ring explodes, revealing that the ring had just been a construct. As he is off his footing, Kyle begins to beat down on Sinestro, finally defeating him by throwing him into a giant Lantern construct, electrocuting him unconscious. With Sinestro defeated, Superman manages to break free from his construct and crushes his Ring. Sinestro is then presumably arrested by the Corps for his crimes against the Universe.

Justice League

Years later, Sinestro somehow escaped from the Green Lantern Corps' custody and created a new Yellow Ring. Sometime before the episode, Sinestro was contacted by Gorilla Grodd and his henchwoman Giganta and joined his Secret Society in hopes of killing the Justice League's resident Green Lantern: John Stewart.

In Secret Society, starting off the first phase of Grodd's plan, Sinestro and the rest of the Society attack Morgan Edge's mansion, kill him and free Clayface from his imprisonment there and Grodd getting him to join his side by tempting him with the possibility of becoming human again. Later, Sinestro and the Society accompany Clayface to a chemical factory to help him fight off Batman, knowing he would try to apprehend him, with Sinestro blasting and destroying the electrified Batarang Batman used against Clayface. However, Batman had also brought the Justice League with him and the two teams begin to fight each other, with Sinestro taking on John Stewart. Unfortunately, due to the League's growing teamwork issues amplified by Grodd's psychic suggestions, they are easily beaten by the Society, although Grodd chooses to retreat instead of finishing them off and the League ends up disbanding.

In Part 2, after Flash heads to the North Hill Subway Station in hopes of finding Shade, he ends up in a trap laid by the Society and ends up fighting Sinestro, however, Flash ends up defeating Sinestro due to the fact that, while Sinestro's constructs can move at light-speed, he can't think that fast. Later, after Flash had been defeated by the other Society members and impersonated by Clayface, Sinestro tries to defeat Batman after he easily recognizes Clayface's disguise, but is instead taken out by a Batarang before he could attack.

Later, after the Society had captured all of the ex Justice League members and hijacked a football game to announce their victory to the world, Sinestro and the other Society members were shocked after realizing that Martian Manhunter had actually disguised himself as Clayface and that the real Clayface had been accidentally frozen by Killer Frost. After Martian Manhunter freed the Justice League, the Society and League began to fight each other again, with Sinestro yet again taking on John Stewart. However, the League, being far more organized that before, managed to defeat the villains and imprison them.

Static Shock

Prior to appearing in the series, Sinestro, after stealing his Lantern, changed his appearance to that of John Stewart in an effort to ruin his reputation. Sinestro, as Stewart, then went on a crime spree across the world, putting both the Justice League and the Green Lantern Core against the real Stewart and forcing him to go into hiding while Sinestro continued to ruin his life.

In the episode Fallen Hero, Sinestro, as Stewart, barrels through the security force of a bank and steals millions of dollars in gold bars. The next day, Virgil Hawkins (Static's civilian identity) reads about Green Lantern's attack on the vault in the paper and immediately dismisses it as false, but he is soon proved wrong when he and his friend/partner Gear later encounter Green Lantern robbing a truck full of microchips. Static tries to talk his hero out of committing crimes, but Stewart tells Static that he became tired with having power and nothing to show for it and starts attacking him with the microchips by giving them a charge opposite to his. Gear tries to help Static, but is overpowered by a blast from Green Lantern and Static retaliates by blasting at Stewart with electrical energy, but his blast fails to penetrate Green Lantern's shield and he is soundly defeated.

As Green Lantern flies off and gloats about his victory, the real John Stewart hits him and knocks him down into a junkyard. The two begin to fight and Green Lantern taunts Stewart by telling him that he doesn't want to use up the energy his Ring has and invites an attempt to blast him with energy. Stewart misses the shot and Green Lantern begins to laugh at him, only for the energy to come back around and strike him in the back. Stewart then pins Green Lantern down and he reverts back into Sinestro, however, before John can defeat him, his ring runs out of power and Sinestro pins him under a steel gate. Sinestro then explains that he doesn't want to kill Stewart but instead wants him to be arrested by the Core for all the crimes that "he" committed before re-disguising himself as Stewart and flying off.

Green Lantern then encounters Static and Gear again and tries to destroy them, however, using their teamwork, they manage to keep him at bay. John Stewart, having managed to free himself, looks to join the fight to prove his innocence, and harnesses all the power left in his Ring and dons his costume. Upon seeing him, Sinestro slams Gear and Static into a building and makes Stewart follow him into an alley and then disappears, tricking Static and Gear into fighting Stewart. After his Ring runs out of power, Static electrocutes Stewart and he is arrested while Sinestro gleefully watches.

During John Stewart's prison transport, Sinestro arrives to taunt him and collect his Power Ring, however, he quickly realizes that he doesn't have it and instead opts to look for it himself. When asked by Stewart why he wants the ring, Sinestro states that the ring will make a nice keepsake, revealing a necklace of Power Rings he had stole from other Lanterns, presumably after killing them.

After discovering Stewart's Ring in his coat pocket, Static goes to Stewart's cell and learns the truth; A few days ago, Stewart, with all the other Justice League members occupied, investigated a distress call sent to him by the pilot of a rocket that crashed on an asteroid. Recognizing the pilot as the only survivor of the crash and the distance from the asteroid to Earth, he took out his Lantern to charge his Ring, but it turned out that Sinestro actually disguised himself as the pilot and the whole crash was just a set-up so Sinestro could steal his Lantern. It is also established by Stewart that he had helped defeat Sinestro when he became power-hungry, which is why he hates him so much.

Static then tries to tell Gear the truth about Green Lantern, but when he arrives at his house, he discovers that he has been captured by Sinestro. Sinestro tells Static to give him the Ring, however, Static dupes him by giving him a plastic ring and the two begin to fight, although Sinestro easily wins. However, John Stewart arrives, due to Static having cleared his name, and he begins to fight Sinestro, revealing that Static had given his ring a new type of charge. After a short fight, John Stewart manages to beat Sinestro after his ring starts to lose power and Static uses his powers to charge John's Ring even more, allowing him to expose Sinestro to the public and reclaim his Lantern. Jon Stewart then takes off with Sinestro and presumably takes him to be arrested on Oa for his crimes.

Justice League Unlimited

Yet again, Sinestro manages to escape custody and is contacted by Gorilla Grodd and joins his new expanded Secret Society.

In the episode The Great Brain Robbery, Sinestro assists Tala, Doctor Polaris and Lex Luthor in robbing a train and, along with the others, turns on Lex when they realize that he had accidentally switched minds with The Flash.

In the season finale, when Grodd escaped his imprisonment and tried to take his position as leader back from Luthor, Sinestro, along with Giganta, Bizarro, Volcana, Star Sapphire, Toyman, Atomic Skull, Heat Wave, Cheetah, Killer Frost, Evil Star and Doctor Destiny took Luthor's side and fought Grodd and his faction. After Luthor killed Grodd and Killer Frost switched sides and froze her teammates, Sinestro and the rest of the survivors watched as Luthor used Tala as a conduit in hopes of reviving Brainiac, but he and the others were shocked to see Luthor accidentally revive Darkseid instead. As Darkseid destroyed the Hall of Doom, Star Sapphire and Sinestro cast a force-field around their teammates (save Doctor Destiny, Major Disaster and KGBeast who didn't make it in time) to protect their teammates from his blast and, after Evil Star stole the New God Lightray's Mother Box, they Boomtubed themselves to Earth and call a temporary truce with the Justice League in order to stop Darkseid's Invasion. Sinestro then heads to Tokyo and fights off hoards of Parademons. Sinestro is last seen participating in the five minute head-start the League gives them in exchange for helping them save the planet.

Priscilla Rich A.K.A. Cheetah,

Priscilla Rich

The Golden Age Cheetah was socialite Priscilla Rich. Jealous of Wonder Woman (the Golden Age version, later retconned to be Wonder Woman's mother, Hippolyta)'s fame, Priscilla was driven to villainy by her second personality, the Cheetah. Donning a cheetah costume, Priscilla became Wonder Woman's archnemesis, until her retirement, and eventual death.

Deborah Domaine

The niece of the Golden Age Cheetah, Deborah was a friend of Wonder Woman, until the villainous Kobra brainwashed her into picking up her aunt's evil legacy. This version no longer exists due to the Crisis on Infinite Earths.

Barbara Ann Minerva

Much like her Golden Age predecessor, Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva was driven by envy to become a villain. A selfish, spoiled heiress, Minerva received her Cheetah powers and form from the sacrifice of her partner to an African plant god. However, because the ceremony is meant for virgins (hint-hint), her powers are half curse, half blessing. Minerva decided to challenge Wonder Woman's powers upon hearing of her arrival to Man's World in order to steal her magic lasso. Since then, the Cheetah has proven to be one of Wonder Woman's greatest enemies, as well as her arch nemesis and has shown that women can be just as bad as men.

In the Justice League, she is one of the recurring enemies in both the original series and its sequel series. Press materials names her "A feline femme fatale who is scratching for a fight."

Sebastian Ballesteros

A native to Argentina, corrupt businessman Sebastian Ballesteros was briefly the fourth Cheetah after stealing Minerva's powers, but was killed by her out of revenge.

Gorilla Grodd,

Grodd was a scientist in Gorilla City. He developed a helmet that allowed him to control the minds of others. The Gorilla City security force stopped him from using it in the city, but he escaped capture and eventually wound up in Central City, where he obtained aid from Dr. Sarah Corwin via E-mail and Internet communications before meeting her in person. At some point in time, the two grew close and formed a romantic relationship.

Sometime later, Grodd ran afoul of the Flash and Green Lantern during an attempt to take over the minds of every human in Central City. He succeeds at this, and then, with every person under his control, he and Dr. Corwin invade a military base and commandeer missiles that they launch in the hopes of obliterating Gorilla City. Green Lantern destroyed two of the four missiles launched, while Martian Manhunter, Wonder Woman, and Hawkgirl destroy the other two, foiling his plans. He was then seemingly rendered harmless after Flash "crossed a few wires" in his mind control helmet and tricked him into using it. This fried his brain, and everyone assumed that he was brain-dead. This freed every person under his control but Dr. Corwin, whom Flash had assumed was also a slave to him, but then found out, to his surprise, that she had been a willing follower to him and was in love with him. Her fate beyond that point is still unknown, even now, although it can be assumed that she was arrested and sent to prison for her complicity in Grodd's crimes.

Grodd not only recovered from the frying of his brain, but he no longer needed the helmet to control minds. At some point, according to a story he would later tell Clayface, Grodd met a female gorilla named Giganta, whom he transformed into a human, who could grow to many times her normal size. It is unknown if she always had this ability or if it was as a result of Grodd's work, or even if the story was true or not. Grodd and Giganta would later recruit Killer Frost, Sinestro, Parasite, Shade, and Clayface into the Secret Society, a group to oppose the Justice League. Grodd started playing mind games with the league, which left their integrity as a team fragile and the individual members vulnerable to capture. With the Justice League incapacitated, Grodd brought his Society to a stadium in Gotham to announce to the world about a new order. When the League escaped captivity and rebuilt its bonds, both sides faced off, but the Secret Society was defeated in the end.

Grodd would later revive the Secret Society, but on a much grander scale; nearly every supervillain on Earth was inducted into one group, creating the Legion of Doom. To this end, Grodd helped Lex Luthor escape from prison, and secured Luthor's services in Grodd's employ by promising Luthor the last piece of Brainiac, a cube which contained Brainiac's entire computer code, from which Luthor could reconstitute his "partner". Grodd also installed psychic feguards in each of his allies' minds; if they were ever in a situation where his plans could be revealed, their brains would automatically "short circuit" and shut down, wiping their memories and leaving them comatose. Grodd also freed Tala from the mirror Felix Faust tricked her into, winning her loyalty and affection in the process. Their relationship turns romantic, and in a later episode, it is even hinted that their relationship is sexual, marking the second human woman with whom Grodd had had such a relationship.

After the Legion recovered various artifacts and devices (including the Heart of Nanda Parbat), Grodd had his Society invade Gorilla City. Taking control of its advanced shield generator, Grodd finally revealed his grand scheme: With the Heart boosting its power and a DNA sequencer installed in its circuitry, the generator would broadcast a signal to turn all of humanity into apes. Grodd succeeded in his plan, but his smug assurance of victory would be his undoing. Moments after Tala teleported Grodd, Luthor, and herself away, the Justice League arrived and destroyed the device, reverting everyone on Earth back to normal.

Back at Grodd's headquarters, Luthor was so disgusted with Grodd's plan that he incapacitated Grodd by shooting him with a non-lethal weapon and took over the Legion (which Luthor was planning to do eventually, but the sheer ridiculousness of Grodd's plan prompted him to bump up his schedule). To add insult to injury, Grodd was thrown into his own prison and left to watch Tala transfer her fickle affections towards Luthor within moments of his takeover.

Luthor kept Grodd alive for information on the Brainiac piece, even attempting to use his own mental technology to tear the information from the ape's head. However, due to the League's attempts to track Grodd and the Legion down (and some bad timing), Grodd became a circuit that caused Luthor and the Flash to switch minds. Grodd was immediately aware of the switch, but chose to keep quiet for his own amusement, having decided to see how long the Flash could keep up the ruse before being discovered and torn apart by the Legion.

After many fruitless attempts to get Luthor's attention away from Brainiac and possibly seduce him, Tala decided to go back to Grodd, who, although initially skeptical to help her due to her treachery, ended up deciding to help her when he realized that she really intended to turn on Luthor. She freed him from his cell, and the two led a mutiny against Luthor. The Society was effectively split into two factions: Grodd's loyalists and Luthor's loyalists. While the two sides fought a full-blown civil war, Grodd and Lex had a one-on-one fight that Grodd clearly dominated. Unfortunately, the gorilla's arrogance worked against him.

Despite having Luthor at his mercy, the latter's taunts goaded Grodd into using his mental powers, hoping to dominate Luthor's mind. The moment Grodd activated his telepathy, Luthor used a failsafe device to turn Grodd's own powers back against him. Under Luthor's control, Grodd bowed before his rival and walked forward into an airlock. For the final insult, Luthor released his reflected control on Grodd. Outraged at being outsmarted (least of all, by a human), the gorilla expressed his regret of recruiting Luthor. Luthor gave his farewells to Grodd just before opening the airlock. Glaring impotently at the treacherous human, Grodd swore revenge before being sucked out into space, never to be seen again. It's completely unknown what happened to him after this, as the series ended soon after, but it's likely that he died, as, like humans, gorillas cannot breathe in space.

Leonard Snart A.K.A. Captain Cold,

Raised by an abusive father, Leonard Snart sought to start a criminal career following the death of his grandfather. At first, he attempted simple thievery with a band of thugs. After this failed to produce satisfactory results, he went solo. During a botched robbery of a cyclotron, Snart's gun was altered by the cyclotron's radiation, allowing it fire beams of pure cold, and from time to time, cast illusions. Putting together a blue and white parka, Len became Captain Cold, one of the Flash's deadliest enemies. He is currently the leader of the Rogue's Gallery. But in the New 52, after the Crime Syndicate was defeated, Cold stopped his life of crime and became a member of the Justice League along with Lex Luthor.

In DC Rebirth, he went back into being a criminal and leading the rogues again.

Jonathan Crane A.K.A. Scarecrow,

Post-Crisis

In his youth, Jonathan Crane grew up with his abusive grandmother, a religious fanatic who tortured Jonathan so badly that he developed a crippling fear of her. His life at school didn't fare much better either, because of bullies who constantly teased him for his lean appearance. Jonathan eventually had enough of his tormentors and used elements from Kung Fu to developed his own fighting style called "Violent Dancing" which takes advantage of his thin frame. He also managed to create a fear-inducing chemical compound which his grandmother used to frighten crows. One night, Jonathan dressed up as a scarecrow and frightened some of the bullies from his school. However, his new fear tactics worked too well and resulted in those people's deaths. Crane became intrigued by the power of fear and dedicated himself to learn more about it. He then returned home to murder his grandmother using the Fear Toxin he had previously made.

Years later, Jonathan Crane became a university professor who used unethical methods to teach his students. Crane was soon fired because of this and searched for work elsewhere after killing those responsible for costing him his teaching job. He then became the head psychiatrist at Arkham Asylum and began using the alias Scarecrow while experimenting on his patients. Although Batman eventually discovered Jonathan's crimes and had him incarcerated, he would continue to pose a threat to the Dark Knight as one of his most psychologically dangerous adversaries.

New 52

The Scarecrow's origins were altered for the New 52. In this continuity, Johnathan Crane was raised by his scientific father who was studying the emotion of fear. He would use his Johnathan as a guinea pig for his research by locking him in a pitch-black test chamber to see the young man's terrified reactions. But one day, the tormenting father suddenly died as a result of a heart attack while Johnathan was still locked inside the chamber, and remained there days until police finally found him starved and traumatized. Eventually Johnathan decided that he needed to learn how to control his fears so he would never have to experience such terror again and soon developed an obsession with this goal. After getting a degree in psychology, Johnathan began using his patients as test subjects to create a hallucinatory, fear-inducing gas called Fear Toxin before beginning his criminal career as the Scarecrow.

Winslow Schott A.K.A. Toyman,

Winslow Percival Schott, alias Toyman was born in Britain. The child genius invented his first toy at a young age, a toy airplane painted red and blue. Another boy, out of jealousy of Winslow's fantastic home-made toys, stole his airplane. This act had a profound affect on Schott. When he grew up, Winslow created some of the most amazing toys ever conceived, which earned him world acclaim. However, LexCorp's acquisition of Schotts toy company left him jobless, and he was embittered by the company's use of his toys for military purposes. He became the supervillain Toyman, seeking revenge on Lex Luthor. After several attempts to assassinate Luthor and fights with Superman, he was arrested. Toyman was later sprung from prison and used by Intergang to help them build some deadly traps at their lair.

Later versions of him imply that he has some degree of schizophrenia. Another voice is constantly in his head urging him on in his schemes which he refers to as his 'Mother'.

Cyrus Gold A.K.A. Solomon Grundy,

Cyrus Gold lived on the outskirts of Gotham during the middle of the nineteenth century. There, he was robbed and mortally injured, then his body was tossed in Slaughter Swamp (accounts vary on whether Gold had committed crimes himself and been killed by his cohorts or an angry mob). Before he died, he swore vengeance. For over 50 years his body remained in the swamp.

Years later, Gold rose again as a zombie. With little memory of who he was or how he died, Gold wandered throughout the swamp.

He eventually encountered two escaped criminals, murdered them, and took their clothes. Shortly thereafter, he met a group of men in a hobo camp. When he was asked his name, he simply muttered that he had been born on Monday. This reminded him of the English nursery rhyme about a man who was born on Monday, so he decided to call himself "Solomon Grundy", and became a criminal of Gotham City. His main enemy for many decades was the first Earth hero to call himself Green Lantern, Alan Scott. By extension, Grundy also became a regular foe of Earth's first team of superheroes, The Justice Society Of America, to which Scott belonged. His ability to endlessly regenerate has meant a long and varied career, facing many foes in the DC Universe, including Superman, the later Oan-powered Green Lanterns of Earth, and Swamp Thing, an Earth elemental of the type Grundy could have been, but his origin lacked a few of the needed conditions to achieve this. Needless to say, having his origin in Gotham City, it was all but inevitable that he would one day clash with Gotham's Dark Knight Avenger, The Batman. Some accounts of Batman's career have him facing Grundy almost from the beginning.

Edward Nygma A.K.A. The Riddler,

Edward Nygma was originally a simple software engineer with a love of puzzles, games, and riddles. He worked initially for Competitron, and created the game "Riddle of the Minotaur". Although the game was hugely successful, and many of Competitron's people became wealthy as a result, the Corporate Chair Daniel Mockridge responded with ingratitude, firing Nygma and casually dismissing his efforts as "insignificant", instead arguing that the company's success was owing to its skill with business negotiations and obtaining favorable contracts (i.e., to himself). To rub salt in the wound, he also revealed that Nygma's contract stated that he was not entitled to any royalties or copyrights of the game.

As the Riddler

In "If You're So Smart, Why Aren't You Rich?", outraged by his unfair treatment, Edward Nygma returns to Gotham City after two years as "The Riddler". He kidnaps Mockridge and planned to kill him, but also offers Batman the chance to save Mockridge provided he solved all of the challenges Riddler had laid out for him. The final challenge would be a run through the maze at the Riddle of the Minotaur amusement park, which was an actual simulation of the game Riddler had designed. Confident in his genius and assured of his victory, the Riddler was surprised when Batman successfully solved all of his riddles and outsmarted him. However, Riddler managed to escape Gotham City, also achieving his revenge on Mockridge in a manner more subtle than he had originally intended: Mockridge was traumatized by the whole near-death experience, seemingly scared of the Riddler's return for the rest of his life, yet it seems that the Riddler never returned to make him pay for his actions.

In "What Is Reality?", with Batman having figured out his identity, the Riddler takes extreme measures to protect himself; he goes on a campaign to eliminate all traces of his former self by breaking into banks and government buildings to destroy records bearing his name. He also sends a computer to the Gotham City Police Department with a virtual reality simulation that ends up trapping Commissioner Gordon. Batman enters the virtual reality world to rescue Gordon, and Riddler ends up destroying his dream world by focusing too hard on trying to kill Batman. Not only that, but the electronic backlash leaves his brain suspended, with Batman, Robin and Gordon finding his inert body at his hideout later in the abandoned Gotham's World Fair, helplessly leaving the Riddler behind with no way to know if he would ever recover.

In "Trial", having somehow recovered from his previous condition offscreen, the Riddler partakes in the trial of Batman held by various members of his Rogues Gallery, led by the Joker. He was not present for all of it though, meaning he might have taken the opportunity to escape in the chaos. In any case, he was most likely jailed again like all the other rogues after Batman and Janet Van Dorn manage to defeat the Joker and escape.

In "Riddler's Reform", the Riddler is revealed to have been released on the grounds that he'd been "reformed". Joining with Charles Baxter, one of Gotham's well-known toymakers, the Riddler invents several puzzles that quickly become popular with children, with Baxter having hired him in the first place because he wanted to use Nygma's Riddler persona to boost the company's profile. However, the Riddler secretly continues to commit daring robberies, leaving clues through his company advertisements. For his part, Batman is confident that Riddler will never be able to stay reformed and that he will inevitably return to crime. With this in mind, he confronts Riddler, and Riddler decides afterwards that, in order to truly have a fresh start, he needs to kill Batman. So to this end, he lures him into a booby-trapped warehouse and rigs the place to blow. However, Batman survives by simply concealing himself in a nearby safe, unknown to the Riddler, who was then arrested by the police after his crimes were exposed and returned to Arkham, ending his partnership with Baxter. With Batman refusing to tell Riddler how he survived, Riddler snaps completely and goes mad trying to fathom how Batman could have possibly outwitted him yet again, leaving his mental state worse than before.

Superman: The Animated Series

In "Knight Time", the Riddler makes a guest appearance alongside other members of Batman's rogues gallery. After Batman disappears thanks to Brainiac's machinations, the Riddler makes an alliance with the Mad Hatter and Bane to take over Gotham City. However, Robin and Superman disguised as Batman appear on the scene and Superman quickly defeats Bane while Robin handcuffs the Riddler on a cage and lifts him up, leaving the Riddler and Bane for pickup by the GCPD and taking the Mad Hatter with them so he can help them to find Bruce Wayne.

The New Batman Adventures

In "Over the Edge", following Batgirl's death at the hands of the Scarecrow and James Gordon's manhunt for Batman and his Bat-family, the Riddler along with the Ventriloquist and Scarface, Harley Quinn and the Mad Hatter fill a lawsuit against Bruce Wayne for his previous actions against them as the Dark Knight. However, as it turns out that most of the episode's events were only Barbara Gordon's fear gas-induced nightmares, nothing comes up.

In "Judgement Day", after The Judge stops The Penguin and Killer Croc, he goes to stop the Riddler from committing crime in Gotham City ever again. When the Riddler conducts a random heist in a restaurant, the Judge restrains him before doing the same to his henchmen. With no one to help him, the Riddler is left able to do nothing but look on in horror as the Judge drops an oversized book on him. It's presumed that the Riddler was either seriously crippled or killed as a result, as this is the last time we see him in the DCAU, so it's likely he never returned to crime afterwards.

Doris Zeul A.K.A. Giganta,

Originally little more than an ape she was artificially evolved by Gorilla Grodd into a human female (both in appearance and mannerism): she in turn became very devoted to him and also gained the ability to grow to gigantic heights at will.

This served to make Giganta a formidable opponent to any hero in the DC universe and although she began her career as somewhat of a savage complete with leopard-skin clothing she would evolve into a much more refined woman, albeit still a dangerous criminal, as the series and comics went on.

It is worth noting that their are many variations of Giganta depending on the era or writer and her origin varied greatly as do her powers depending on who writes her - though modern writers tend to stick with the size-shifting hyper-evolved ape (this is also the version that was made popular in the cartoon series Justice League).

Another popular version of Giganta was in Superfriends, where she was shown as the rival to Apache Chief, and was present as his super heroic debut. She had been an ordinary woman horseback riding when she saw the effect of the magic powder, and desired to use it to become famous.

She stole the bag of powder from Apache Chief when he was busy. Although warned by Apache Chief's sachem to leave it alone as the effects multiply emotions, she ignored the warning. True to form, her selfishness was multiplied along with her size, and she became an evil giantess.

and Superman's dumb clone Bizarro.

Lex Luthor came up with the idea of creating his own Superman through cloning. He hired Dr. Teng, an expert in cloning, but because Superman was an alien and the process was designed for cloning humans, the clone morphed into a monstrous brute. Luthor's bodyguard Mercy Graves jokingly called it Bizarro and the unintelligent creature quickly went on a rampage throughout Metropolis and kidnapped Lois Lane. Superman managed to defeat him relatively quickly as he disintegrated from weak cellular structure. Luthor attempted to make a superman clone again, but once again it morphed into Bizarro. Retaining some of Superman's memories, Bizarro constructed his own "Bizarro Metropolis" out of trash and kidnapped Lois Lane.

The original Bizarro was created when Superman was exposed to a "duplicate ray". In accordance with the science fiction concepts of Superman stories of the era, Bizarro relocated to "the Bizarro world," a cubical planet called Htrae which operated under "Bizarro logic" (it was a crime to do anything good or right) and which Bizarro populated with inverted versions of Superman's supporting cast and other DC heroes.

The 1986 event Crisis on Infinite Earths rewrote DC's continuity, eliminating Htrae. Since then, two Bizarro characters have appeared, one of them a flawed clone created by Lex Luthor. The second, longer lasting Bizarro, was an idea of the Batman villain the Joker, brought to life by the cosmic trickster Mister Mxyzptlk.

Bizarro has been a consistent enemy of Superman since his first appearance. Faithful adaptations of Bizarro appeared in the animated series Super Friends and series in the subsequent DC Universe. Also, doppelgängers of Superman with some attributes of Bizarro appeared in live action adaptations.

Bizarro and the Bizarro World have become somewhat well-known in popular culture, and the term Bizarro is used as to describe anything that utilizes twisted logic or that is the opposite of something else.

We were watching the episodes and they brought back a lot of memories.

Me: Boy this takes me back. This was the very show that got me into the superhero business.

Lincoln: It sure was awesome!

Lana: I remember this show. It was awesome! It's a darn shame they don't air it anymore.

Me: Yeah. But we can still watch it on the internet. But this version of the Legion of Doom is not like the one that we normally face on a daily basis.

Volcana: I know. This version is really incompetent.

Me: Yeah.

Blossom (Adult): I remember this. Believe it or not we beat all of this version of the Legion Of Doom single-handedly.

We gasped in shock.

Me: You guys defeated the entire Legion Of Doom all by yourselves!?

Nico: Whoa! That is awesome!

Laney: Wow! That is so cool!

Lily Loud: That is amazing!

Bubbles (Adult): Yeah, they captured Aquaman and Wonder Woman and we beat them all.

Me: Wow. That is awesome! Lets see if we can help out the Superfriends defeat the Legion Of Doom there like the Powerpuff Girls did. Lets head to the simulator.

We cheered.

We got ready and we were going to face the most incompetent version of the Legion Of Doom ever.

Me: This is gonna be a very interesting fight.

Marinette: It sure is. I don't think we've ever faced the entirety of the Legion Of Doom like this.

Me: Well the Legion Of Doom that we face on a daily basis has many more villains than this one. There were lots of them. Some of them are now members of Team Loud Phoenix Storm.

Silver Banshee: (Scottish Accent) Aye. I was once a member of the Legion Of Doom.

Volcana: Same with me.

Sinestro: That's right my friends.

Giganta: Yep.

Livewire: This is gonna be awesome!

Killer Frost: It's gonna be interesting fighting some of our old comrades.

Me: It is.

Star Sapphire: This is gonna be something.

Me: Yeah. Also we're gonna be broadcasting this to our Legion Of Doom and to Lila. This will let the entirety of our Legion Of Doom know that the ceasefire is over and to Lila that the Legion Of Doom is no more.

We went into the Simulator and it activated. We were all in Slaughter Swamp.

Me: Here we are guys. Slaughter Swamp, New Jersey. Ground Zero for the headquarters of the Legion Of Doom.

THE END

Another Fanfiction Complete and another awesome villain team destroyed.

Superfriends has been a very awesome DC Comics Superhero show that I've known since I was a little kid. It aired 40 years ago and it was so awesome! I got the idea for this chapter from an advertisement that I remember from when the Powerpuff Girls were about to become an official cartoon and they busted into the Legion Of Doom base and defeated them all single-handedly. It was awesome and funny! NicoChan11 gave me the ideas for this. Thanks man. Let me know what you all think. I'm going to take a break tomorrow to spend time with my family. The next chapter is gonna be for battling the evil Boogie Gus. We're going to make him dance to death.

See you all on Monday
