The U.S.S. Valorous Phoenix was flying through space.
Me: Captain's Log, Stardate 2808.4: It's day 8 of Total Drama Galaxy and we're en route to the sight of our next challenge. Chris said that it's going to be the biggest challenge to test our skills at when we get there. We can't wait.
Poison Ivy: Mike, the final challenge is upon us. So, we might want to be planning you and Zoey's wedding now.
Me: Good idea.
We decided to work on Mike and Zoey's wedding. We agreed to put streamers of red and blue and have it be a tie-dye wedding and it was gonna be amazing. We'll have a great wedding cake and more.
Me: This is gonna be an awesome wedding.
Laney: It sure is.
Lisa Simpson then came up to me.
Lisa Simpson: J.D., I have something to show you.
Me: What is it Lisa?
She handed me a piece of old paper. I unrolled it and on it was a message.
Me: "The Secret Confessions of Jebediah Springfield.
Know ye who read this there is more to my life than history records. Firstly, I did not tame the legendary buffalo, it was already tame, I merely shot it. Secondly, I have not always been known as Jebediah Springfield. Until 1796, I was Hans Sprungfeld, murderous pirate. And the half wits of this town will never learn the truth, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha. I write this confession so that my infamy will live on long after my body has succumbed to my infectious diphtheria."
We all gasped!
Me: Holy fucking god! Springfield's founder was a total fraud and a fake!
Lisa Simpson: That's right J.D.
Lisa Simpson told me everything about Hans Sprungfeld.
Hans Sprungfeld (generally known as Jebediah Springfield) is a character in the animated series The Simpsons. He is the founder of the city of Springfield, and although widely regarded as a hero by its citizens, he was actually a vicious pirate, as revealed in the episode "Lisa the Iconoclast".
He is voiced by Harry Shearer who also voices other characters in the series, such as Mr. Burns, God, Kang and Springfield Mafia member Legs.
History
When the kids are assigned to do essays on Jebediah Springfield for the city's 200th anniversary, Lisa goes to the historical society to learn more about him. While checking out his possessions, Lisa tries to play his fife, accidentally discovering Springfield's secret confession, which exposes his true colors. It reads as follows:
" Know ye who read this there is more to my life than history records. I write this confession so that my infamy will live on long after my body has succumbed to my infectious diphtheria. „
He also tried to kill George Washington but was defeated. Lisa comments these facts with her parents, but only Homer believes her while Marge refuses to accept this. Next she explains that Sprungfeld got his tongue bit off in a fight with a turk and replaced it with a silver one. Lisa and Homer go on a mission to tell the citizens the truth, but instead of believing, the Springfieldians get upset at them. Both Simpsons are then taken to the local authorities and manage to convince them to dig up Sprungfeld's grave to find out, but once there they don't come upon any silver tongue.
Lisa seems to give up, but thanks to a dream she goes back to the historical society and finds the tongue, which Hollis Hurlbut (historian and head of the foundation) confesses having hid after opening the coffin. She also shows him that Sprungfeld's confession was actually written in a strip from the portrait of Washington that is kept at the society, which got stuck in Hans' boot as he was leaving after their fight. Hurlbut finally agrees to reveal the truth, so he goes and interrupts the parade so Lisa can speak to everyone, but she realizes that the myth of Jebediah Springfield has value since it brings out the best in the townspeople, and that they would lose hope and morale if the truth is to be revealed to the public. As such, she limits herself to saying that he was a great man, to which the crowd applauds, and the parade continues.
We were shocked.
Me: So Springfield was founded by a ruthless pirate.
Nico: Now I'm really glad that Springfield was completely destroyed.
Lincoln: Me too Nico. That town really WAS doomed from the start.
Naruto: No kidding.
Laney: Yeah.
Lisa Simpson: That's right and he even was responsible for trying to kill George Washington. He was the most evilest man in the 1780's.
Me: And that makes him a traitor to our country.
Lisa Simpson: It does. He had his tongue bitten off by a Turk in a grog-house fight.
Me: Yikes!
Nico: That must've really hurt.
Axel Adell: (Swedish Accent) But without a tongue, you can't eat, talk, laugh or anything like that.
Me: Yeah and you would bleed to death.
Lisa Simpson: He had a prosthetic tongue made for him made out of silver.
Me: A pure silver tongue. Very interesting.
Nico: That is weird.
Hunter: (German Accent) Ja.
Me: I think I know someone who needs to know the truth. He may not believe me. But every child and everyone we recruited from Springfield will listen.
We went down to the brig to talk to Mayor Quimby.
Me: Hello Mayor Quimby.
Mayor Quimby: Are you here to bust me out?
Me: No. We came here to tell you something. It's about the truth of Springfield, Oregon's founder Jebediah Springfield.
Mayor Quimby: Not this again.
I held a gun to his head.
Me: You will listen or I will put a bullet in your fucking head and send you back to hell. Lisa Simpson told us some very interesting info about Jebediah. He was a total fraud.
Everyone gasped.
Me: That's right everyone. Jebediah Springfield was really a vicious pirate named Hans Sprungfeld. He was the most evil man of the 1780's and he tried to kill George Washington. He was a monster and he was also the reason why Springfield was called the Meanest Town In America. You were following the lies and ways of a monster.
Lisa Simpson: That's right. Hans Sprungfeld was known for having a silver tongue and this is it.
Lisa pulled out the tongue made of pure silver and handed it to me.
Me: (Whistles) Pure silver. Nice. This is it.
Everyone gasped. Lisa and I had sheer proof of Jebediah Springfield's deception and fraud and that everyone in Springfield was lied too!
Edna Krabappel: We all were lied to!
Milhouse: Our home was a sham!
Nelson: How evil can someone be!?
Me: Pure evil Nelson and Mayor Diamond Joe Quimby here has been using all those lies to his advantage to ruin everyone. Mr. Burns, Skinner, Superintendent Chalmers, Fat Tony and the Springfield Mafia, Cletus and his family minus his kids, the Rich Texan, they were embezzling and ruining so many lives to keep all of Springfield's corruption a secret from the world. Principal Skinner and Superintendent Chalmers were making the children as dumb as doorknobs because of providing poor education and robbing them of their favorite classes and Jimbo, Dolph and Kearney were there to make sure that no one ever talks about it by beating the living shit out of anyone who does and Chief fatfuck Wiggum was ruining the town with unconstitutional laws and dumb rules. Also Reverend Lovejoy was not giving religion to the town. He was making things up and poisoning everyones minds with lies and the town was turning into a cult. A Cult that worships Satan. Mr. Burns kept most of Springfield's money all for himself and made everyones lives in Springfield a living nightmare. He didn't give a flying fuck about anyone but himself and it's one of the reasons we killed him. Mr. Smithers is now redeemed and now is helping us. Springfield was a town full of corrupted officials and mega douchebags.
Everyone from Springfield was shocked. The town that they lived in was nothing but a hellhole!
Bart: Ay Caramba!
Greta Wolfcastle: What a monster!
Jessica Lovejoy: Awful!
Lois Griffin: Oh my god!
Stewie: My god. No wonder Springfield was doomed from the start.
Joe Swanson: Oh my god! That town was a cesspool of evil.
Brian: A dunghole.
Mayor Quimby: That's all lies!
Me: Then how do you explain this Mayor Quimby? The tongue once used by Hans Sprungfeld. He has had this tongue for over 239 years. He has worn it ever since he tried to kill the Founder of Our Country.
Bart: Whoa!
Keith Parkinson: That's right! Springfield was a town that should've never been established to begin with. It was all a town that was doomed from the very beginning.
Olivia Parkinson: Yeah!
Raven Parkinson: That's right.
Me: Yep. Springfield deserved to be completely destroyed and I'm glad it was.
Gina Vendetti: Yeah!
Edna Krabappel: And we are forever grateful that Springfield was wiped out.
Everyone agreed.
Brian: I'm glad Springfield was completely destroyed. It really was a failure of a town.
Me: Yep.
Snake Jailbird: Dude, that is awful. I can't believe that I was stealing from a bunch of corrupted people!
Nico: We all are shocked Snake.
Snake Jailbird: Maybe I'll get comfort in breaking out of jail from Gotham Royal York.
Nico: We have just the perfect nemesis for you too.
Me: There you have it guys. The awful truth. But after we get back to Earth, I'm going to reveal everything about Springfield when I call a press conference in Washington D.C.
Nico: Everyone is not gonna like it.
Me: Yep.
We went back to the bridge.
Mayor Quimby, Mr. Burns and the Springfield Mafia, Comic Book Guy were soon gonna be made outcasts from humanity.
Back at the bridge, we were talking about more for the wedding.
Then Max, Feral Ezekiel, Anne Maria, Jacque and Josee came.
Me: Well, well if it isn't the rest of the sore losers.
Max: How dare you take Scarlett from me?!
Mako: Hey, Scarlett's not your property! She's free to make her own decisions!
Me: That's right you purple-hair freak.
Hook: (to Feral Ezekiel) I can't wait to have you thrown in the brig.
Feral Ezekiel roared in fury!
Anne Maria: Do you all mind? I'm trying to look at myself in the mirror here!
Ratchet: Yeah, enjoy looking at your beautiful self while you can.
May: Because I'll pound that pretty little face of yours into pulp.
Anne Maria: WHAT DID YOU SAY TO ME!?
May: You heard me! And I am far more prettier than you bitch!
Anne Maria: I will kill you bitch!
Nico: You stay away from her!
Maria: (to Josee) Hey, Josee. How's your stabbed shoulder?
Jacques: You're going to pay for doing that to her!
Maria: Not if I kill you first Jacques!
Me: Save your energy for the challenge.
Chris McLean then appeared.
Chris McLean: Hey guys! Gather round. It's the last challenge of the series! Your challenge is on the planet coming up.
Lisa Loud: We have arrived.
Me: On screen.
The view screen activated and it showed a storm planet that Samus Aran knows all too well. It was her home planet Zebes.
Zebes was a planet in orbit around the star FS-176 and habitat of the devious Zebesian Space Pirates and Mother Brain. Zebes was the locational setting of the original Metroid, its enhanced remake, Metroid: Zero Mission, and Super Metroid. According to Metroid Prime, Zebes had a mass of 4.8 trillion teratons and was in the FS-176 system. Samus Aran, the famed Bounty Hunter was raised on Zebes by the Chozo after her home on the Earth colony K-2L was destroyed by the Space Pirates.
Zebes had a vast network of underground caverns and labyrinths that led deep into the planet. A deep cavernous area in the planet known as Brinstar seemed to be the home of more than 60% of the planet's wildlife. Brinstar was home to a dense forest, yet the vegetation did not seem to have anything to photosynthesize. It can be said that the plants only needed water, or that the majority were carnivorous as indicated by the foliage in Kraid's Lair. It is also possible that Brinstar plants use chemosynthesis.
Another oddity lies in the existence of huge deposits of water just below the surface. Labeled Maridia, the water from this realm spiraled in all directions, eating away at the land and creating huge and sometimes dangerously vast mazes of water. The ground "liquified" in some areas and formed deadly quicksand traps leading deeper into the planet.
Crateria was the crust of Zebes. It was a bleak and rocky area that was constantly drenched by acid rain. This rain would affect bioforms not able to adapt to the harsh atmosphere (Samus Aran being an exception). There was also a Wrecked Ship that had landed in a pool on Crateria long ago, arriving with the first Chozo civilization on the planet.
While they lived on the planet, the Chozo had constructed a Planetary Protection Shield to defend themselves from attack. However, it was later disabled by the Space Pirates with a micro black hole.
Moons
Samus uses the phrase "Great Moons of Zebes!" in the early Captain N: The Game Master comics. It is shown in the Metroid Manga that Zebes had two moons, one very large in appearance from the surface and another that is smaller. Both moons also appear in Metroid Prime as holograms in the Observatory. The larger moon had a normal revolution, while the smaller moon had a retrograde orbit.
The fates of the moons after the planet's destruction are unknown. Assuming they were not also destroyed by the explosion of Zebes, it is likely that they continued to orbit their sun within the former planet's debris field.
Areas
Crateria — The surface area of Zebes that Samus' Gunship first landed on in Metroid: Zero Mission and later in Super Metroid. It is sometimes deluged by heavy acid rains. In Super Metroid, the ruins of the original Tourian are included as a part of this area.
Wrecked Ship — An ancient, flooded ship that crashed into Crateria long ago, now infested with ghosts. Segments of it are found in Chozodia in Zero Mission. The area is home to Phantoon, one of the Space Pirate leaders in Super Metroid.
Chozo Ruins — An area of desolate temple ruins built by the Chozo long ago, now containing some of their artifacts left behind. These ruins overlap Crateria and Chozodia, with segments included in both areas. Seen exclusively in Zero Mission.
Brinstar — Includes two main sections: a lush underground jungle and a network of caverns primarily composed of dry rock. Home to the Zero Mission and Super Metroid minibosses Charge Beam Beast and Spore Spawn, respectively.
Kraid's Lair — A moist subsection of Brinstar that teemed with flora and small animal life. It contains a unique zip line system in Zero Mission. As the name implies, this is the hideout of Kraid, a veteran Space Pirate leader and one of their main Enforcers.
Norfair — The fiery underground caves of Zebes. The Fire-Sea of Norfair boasts incredibly high temperatures, requiring Samus to obtain the Varia Suit before exploring portions of it. Home to the Super Metroid miniboss Crocomire and the Zero Mission miniboss Kiru Giru.
Ridley's Lair — An area of Zebes that is even deeper than Norfair. Ridley's Lair is completely artificial as it includes Chozo Ruins and possibly Space Pirate technology. This area serves as the base for Ridley, the most infamous of the Space Pirate leaders and one of the two main Enforcers. The Gold Torizo miniboss also resides in Ridley's Lair. In Super Metroid, Samus needs the Gravity Suit to explore the area safely.
Maridia — The flooded caves of Zebes, seen exclusively in Super Metroid. This area is composed of underground oceans teeming with aquatic bioforms and some Space Pirate structures and laboratories. It is in these sunken labs that Samus finds the results of failed attempts at cloning Metroids by Space Pirates. One of the Space Pirate leaders, Draygon, also lurks in this area in Super Metroid. Maridia also features Botwoon, a serpent-like miniboss.
Chozodia — A series of ancient Chozo ruins situated near Crateria, seen exclusively in Zero Mission. Though Space Pirates secured portions of these ruins due to their proximity to the Space Pirate Mother Ship, there are still parts of Chozodia that remained largely unexplored until Samus stumbles across them while fleeing from the pirates. The walls of the silent corridors are covered with Chozo hieroglyphs, and the newly installed Pirate Alarm Systems stand ready to detect any intruders. It is in this area of Zebes that Samus passes the Ruins Test, earning herself the "legendary" Power Suit as a result. Certain segments of the Wrecked Ship and Chozo Ruins are located here.
Space Pirate Mother Ship — The Space Pirates' mobile base during the events of Zero Mission. Presided over by Mecha Ridley in the absence of Ridley himself, this ship is equipped with state-of-the-art security systems and swarmed with Space Pirates, making it a dangerous place for Samus. It becomes all the more dangerous when Samus is forced to infiltrate the ship without the aid of her famous Power Suit. The ship is completely destroyed at the end of Zero Mission.
Tourian — The main Space Pirate headquarters on Zebes. Entirely mechanical, Tourian is the location of the Metroid labs and the place from which Mother Brain, the leader of the Space Pirates on Zebes, commands her forces. Samus has twice destroyed this area. The first Tourian was built unusually close to the surface; when it was destroyed, another Tourian was rebuilt much further into the depths of the planet. The original's ruins are integrated as a part of Crateria in Super Metroid.
History
Originally a Chozo colony, Zebes (or the Chozo research/tech scattered across it) had been desired by the Space Pirates for some time. The Space Pirates tried to invade it on the founding of the Galactic Federation, but were unsuccessful. It was after this that the Chozo inhabitants took the orphaned Samus Aran under their wing; also, breakthroughs in the design of the Metroids were made by Gray Voice and the organic computer Mother Brain at this time. After Samus became a Federation Police Force officer, the Space Pirates returned with the Space Pirate Flagship, Mother Brain betrayed the Chozo, and the Chozo colony was entirely evacuated and/or wiped out. For the next few years the Space Pirates secretly used Zebes as their primary base of action, and, under the guidance of Mother Brain, became a more effective and deadly force, conducting unthinkable experiments to weaponize the Chozo-made parasitic life-form: Metroid.
The Galactic Federation sent Samus back to Zebes to destroy the threat of Metroids and Mother Brain. Samus succeeded in neutralizing both the Metroids and Mother Brain, and she destroyed the Space Pirate Mother Ship, seemingly ending the Space Pirate presence on Zebes. For the next few years the planet's only inhabitants were the roughly 200 archaeologists and researchers sent there to study the many Chozo ruins on the planet's surface and in the subterranean tunnels. Eventually the Space Pirates returned to Zebes, regained their previous strength, and rebuilt Mother Brain.
Destruction
After Samus defeated Mother Brain for the second time on Zebes in Super Metroid, yet another self-destruct sequence was activated. However, unlike the first, which destroyed the first Tourian, the second engulfed the entire planet: As Samus escaped in her ship, the planet ignited with a blinding flash and a tremendous explosion. Zebes, the former home of the Chozo and Samus herself, was lost forever.
The flourish that plays during the planet's destruction is titled "Planet Zebes Explodes" on the Super Metroid: Sound in Action CD.
Samus: Zebes. My old home.
Nico: Wow.
Chris McLean: But the first part of the challenge is gonna take place on a space colony. It's gonna take place on the Ceres Colony.
Me: I have a feeling I know how this is gonna turn out. Okay then.
Chris McLean: The entire challenge is going to be to take out the Mother Brain.
Me: Awesome.
Nico: This is gonna be awesome!
Janeen Aran: Yeah!
Me: Lets do it.
We went to an asteroid belt and we found the Ceres Space Colony.
Ceres Space Colony (スペースコロニー Supēsu Koronī), also known as Ceres Station, is the first area in Super Metroid, and the site of the Metroid Theft Incident. After taking the baby aboard her gunship, Samus Aran brings it to the Space Science Academy Lab on Ceres for research. Shortly after she leaves, Ceres' distress signal activates and she returns to the colony to find it dark and all of the colony members dead. She progresses through the colony and meets Ridley, holding the baby in his talons. Samus and Ridley battle, but the Pirate flees and activates a Self-Destruct System. Samus escapes and Ceres explodes shortly afterwards. She then follows Ridley to Zebes, which she tears apart in search of the Baby.
We went into the colony and we saw that it was deserted.
Me: It's quiet.
Varie: Yeah. Too quiet.
Laney: Where is everyone?
Lincoln: No idea. It's like they abandoned the place.
Lily: Yeah.
We went deep into the colony and in a research part of the colony we found a laboratory we saw the scientists dead and the containment tank was broken.
Me: These scientists have been butchered.
Sasuke: Yeah. These wounds are not like anything we've ever seen.
Me: Yeah. Lets see what the logs say about it.
We went onto the computers and we scrolled through the data and it was amazing what we found out about the Baby Metroid. It was an amazing amount of data and the findings on it were amazing.
The baby, also known as the last Metroid, Metroid Hatchling, Metroid larva, Hatchling, Baby Metroid, or infant Metroid, was the last surviving member of its species in their natural habitat of SR388. It is best remembered in its infant stage seen in Metroid II: Return of Samus/Metroid: Samus Returns and the beginning of Super Metroid, although it did not keep that form for long in the latter game.
During the SR-388 incident, Samus Aran is ordered by the Galactic Federation to exterminate the remaining Metroids on SR388, so they could no longer be used as weapons by the Space Pirates. She encounters several stages of the creatures on her mission, eventually defeating the Queen Metroid in Area 8. In the chamber behind the Queen, Samus comes across a single Metroid Egg, the last remaining of the species. It hatches as she approaches, and as she was the first thing that it saw, the Metroid imprints on Samus as its unwitting adoptive mother. Taken by surprise at its docile nature, Samus finds herself unable to destroy the hatchling. Disobeying her orders, she spares its life, taking it with her back to her Gunship. Along the way, the infant helps Samus by carving out otherwise indestructible crystals as it orbits around its adopted parent.
In the remake Samus Returns, Samus cautiously charges her Ice Beam as soon as the baby hatches, but to her surprise, the newborn Metroid does not attack her. The camera briefly shifts to Samus's point of view where she sees the baby through her Combat Visor. Seeing that the baby is docile and now an orphan, not unlike Samus herself, she deactivates the Ice Beam's charge and holds out her hand to the baby, which accepts Samus as its mother. Samus decides to spare the baby and take it with her despite it being against protocol. The baby has a slightly larger role in the remake, where it can travel with Samus throughout SR388 to eat the various crystals that she previously could not get through, to obtain expansions and go through other previously inaccessible routes, most importantly the one leading from Area 8 to the Surface. When Samus stands still, the baby makes its iconic screeching sounds.
As it is about to depart from SR388 with Samus, it ends up being threatened by Proteus Ridley, sporting cybernetics from earlier events. Having apparently come to the planet to stop Samus from exterminating the entire Metroid population, Ridley arrives too late to prevent the destruction of the Queen and the rest of the Metroid population, though by sparing the last Metroid, it becomes a prime target for Proteus Ridley who aims to claim the infant for the Space Pirates and their restored leader Mother Brain in order to clone it and continue their use of Metroids as bioweapons. Ridley attempts to abduct the baby before Samus attacks him. The Pirate then manages to grab the baby with his mechanical claw, prompting Samus to fight him. After suffering enough damage, Ridley decides to flee with the baby instead of fighting Samus further, but Samus blasts into him with her thrusters and attacks his vulnerable chest, which causes him to release the baby. The baby flies off and floats near the Gunship in the second phase of the battle. Eventually, after Ridley pins Samus down, the baby defends its adoptive mother by proceeding to sap energy from Ridley to distract him and get him off of her, which allows Samus to avoid getting killed. Additionally, the baby also gifts the energy it saps from Ridley to Samus, bolstering her stamina enough to keep fighting. The baby continues to aid Samus in this manner for the rest of the fight allowing the pair to defeat Ridley and leaves SR388 on Samus' Gunship.
Unfortunately, Ridley survives the encounter, discards his cybernetic arm and escapes SR388 before it is overrun by the resurgent X Parasites.
Super Metroid
Samus drops the larva off at Ceres Space Colony, where it is to be examined by Federation scientists. They discover that the Metroid's powers could be harnessed for the good of mankind: as Samus discovered in the battle with Proteus Ridley, a Metroid can not only siphon energy, but transfer it into other organisms. Shortly after she departs, the colony falls victim to a Space Pirate raid, led by Ridley. Samus receives its distress signal, and arrives in time to see Ridley depart, holding the baby in its capsule. Though she tries to kill him, she fails and Ridley flees the station after programming it to explode. Both Samus and Ridley escape in time to avoid the destruction of the station.
Samus pursues her enemy to the rebuilt base on Zebes, where she destroys everything in her path in search of the hatchling. Some time after, she finds Ridley and kills him, however, the capsule that had encased the infant is found broken, with the baby nowhere to be found. During her struggles on Zebes, the Pirates in Tourian use beta-radiation to make it multiply, much like their original operations in Metroid. They also use an unknown technology that creates unsuccessful clones from it, known as Mochtroids, which are placed in Maridia.
In Tourian, Samus finds dried husks of a Torizo and some Zoomers, Rippers, and Skrees in two of the later rooms. She then watches as a Blue Sidehopper meets the same fate at the hands of a Big Metroid. It then turns on Samus, siphoning her health to within an inch of her life before finally recognizing its victim as its "mother" when her suit's low-energy alarm sounded. After a few shrieks reminiscent of its squeaks while it was still an infant, the baby flees the room in shame, leaving Samus behind, who realizes that it was the baby. Samus continues on through the base for the final battle with Mother Brain. After apparently being defeated, Mother Brain transforms into an enormous cyborg monster, weakening Samus with the Laser Brain Attack until she can no longer stand. As the biomechanical menace prepares the final blast, the baby darts in and latches onto Samus's attacker, siphoning her energy to the point where Mother Brain is a brittle husk. Leaving her behind, the enormous Metroid heals Samus, transferring the energy it stole from Mother Brain into her.
However, Mother Brain was still alive. Somehow recovering quickly, she rises in a vengeful fury, firing upon the baby as it gives its life-energy to save Samus. After fully healing Samus, the baby turns its attention back to Mother Brain; however, it had been badly injured by the pounding it had taken earlier, noticeable in the decrease in the vibrancy of its colouring. The baby rushes at Mother Brain to attack once again, only for Mother Brain to shoot it down, finishing it off. As Samus stands to re-enter the battle, she witnesses the baby, the last natural Metroid from SR388, let out one final shriek and explode into many particles over her, falling over her like snow. As she mourns the baby, she discovers it had left her with one final gift - Mother Brain's ultimate weapon, the Hyper Beam. Enraged, and holding nothing back, Samus unleashes the Hyper Beam on Mother Brain, laying waste to the Space Pirate operations once and for all and avenging her fallen "child". She then escapes from Planet Zebes after Mother Brain's final destruction triggers a planet-wide self-destruct sequence. Samus escapes, falling into depression over the baby's demise.
Its role in the Super Metroid comic was more or less the same, though Mother Brain was shown to have tried and failed to convince it that she was its true mother, not Samus. Also, instead of depicting the ingame death, Chief Hardy shot the baby, mistaking it for another Metroid clone, although an oblivious Samus still blames Mother Brain for the baby's death. Armstrong Houston theorizes in the final issue that that the reason for the Metroid's size was due to it being "exposed to massive levels of beta rays" by the Mother Brain.
Metroid: Other M
A 3-D version of the baby was featured in the Metroid: Other M intro. It is seen giving energy to Samus before it was destroyed by the Laser Beam Attack fired by Mother Brain, recreating its final moments in Super Metroid. Throughout the scene, it is shown carrying Samus in the air while restoring her energy as if it were carrying a corpse. It can be heard screaming as it dies. When it dies, it destabilizes into many particles over Samus, that rain over her like snow and somehow gift her with the Hyper Beam. How it does so is unknown, as Samus does not flash as she did in Super Metroid when she gets the Hyper Beam. It is possible that the Hyper Beam's energy was gifted to Samus when she caught one of the particles in her palm, or was given to her while the baby was restoring her energy. Her visor flashes bright green, turning opaque, before she lets loose the Hyper Beam on Mother Brain. During cutscenes at the beginning of the game, Samus remembers the baby and makes references to it, feeling guilt over how she did not protect it as it protected her.
During the training given in the beginning, Samus feels that the baby did not just give her the Hyper Beam after death, but perhaps enhanced her abilities.
The Baby's Cry distress signal that Samus picks up from the BOTTLE SHIP reminds her of the baby and causes her to believe that it was crying for her.
When the 07th Platoon and Samus reach the Exam Center, she reflects on Adam and his strong hatred toward bioweapons, and states that bringing the baby back was something that she knew would have gone against Adam's convictions, and "though [she] might have been left alone, it was a clear and blatant violation of protocol." This is the only time in the game where she refers to it as the "Infant Metroid".
Later in the game, MB reveals to Samus that fragments of the baby were taken off of Samus and used to create a Queen Metroid that she later fights and kills, and the Metroids hatched by it were genetically engineered into unfreezable Metroids and stored in Sector Zero, a recreation of Tourian. She enters the sector and sees another infant Metroid. This gives her a flashback of the baby's hatching, though she realizes she must kill this Metroid due to her earlier thoughts about Adam. Just before she can, Adam shoots her to weaken her (and thus keep her from entering Sector Zero), but he then kills the Metroid before it can drain Samus' energy.
Near the end of the game, The Colonel asks Samus to restrict herself because of her "predilection for transporting illegal cargo, like infant Metroids", referring to Samus' beliefs that bringing the baby back would be considered a use of bioweapons. She can be seen looking at him with an angry expression, indicating either shame or anger towards him.
The game's commercial recreates the baby's birth and death, which Samus looks at as she is walking through moments of her past.
Metroid Fusion
Some time afterwards, Samus is asked to escort Biologic's research team on SR388. They planned to study the changes in the ecosystem since the Metroid extinction. During this expedition, Samus is attacked by an X Parasite that had been mimicking a Hornoad. The creature causes her to lose consciousness, and she crashes her Gunship into the nearby asteroid belt. The ship jettisoned the infected hunter in an Emergency Evacuation Pod moments before the crash and she was found by the team aboard Biologic Space Laboratories research station and brought there to be treated.
Her Varia Suit could not be removed normally while she was unconscious due to its integration with her nervous system, so parts of it had to be surgically removed. Her chances of survival were very low, until one scientist proposed creating the Metroid vaccine, from surviving DNA of the baby. The vaccine was a success, removing all traces of the X from her system. It also helped to create the Fusion Suit, which made Samus more Metroid-like, now weak to cold temperatures and attacks but able to absorb the previously deadly X Parasites to restore energy and ammunition. The Federation eventually came to realize that the Metroids were the main predators of the X and their eradication and Baby's removal from the planet had led to the X becoming the dominant life form on SR388, infecting various animals. Samus remarked that this was not the first time the baby had saved her life; the deceased baby now being within her forever.
The baby's DNA was also used again in another secret breeding program by the Galactic Federation, cloning new Metroids and producing the later stages of the natural life cycle up to the Omega Metroid level; this was achieved by reproducing said planet's environment in Sector 1 (SRX). Samus had this section of the ship detached, destroying the cloned Metroids and the SA-X that had followed Samus into the lab. Samus later killed the remaining Omega Metroid that bred outside of it before she rammed the entire complex into the Metroid and X Parasite homeworld. A new "ultimate warrior", Samus carries the last of the Metroid DNA from the baby, acting as a single fusion of the two greatest products of the Chozo civilization. However is unclear if the destruction of the Restricted Lab and Omega Metroid was truly the end of the Federation's Metroid breeding program or if others exist, thus more clones of Baby may exist.
Me: Whoa!
Nico: Wow! The Baby Metroid's biological makeup and scientific information has been put to really good use.
Me: It sure has. It has been proven to be very beneficial. This could be used in the way we cure disease. But what they are doing with the other uses is really playing with fire.
Lisa Loud: Indeed.
Zarya: But we have to be careful.
Me: Yep.
I downloaded the data to the ship for storage.
We then heard something coming from another room.
Me: Lets go.
We arrived in the core room of the colony and we saw the Baby Metroid.
Zarya: There's the Baby Metroid.
Lincoln: This is easy.
Me: Wait Lincoln. Too easy.
Glowing yellow eyes appeared and we saw that the Baby Metroid was in the claws of the ruthless Space Pirate leader and Samus Aran's ultimate arch nemesis, RIDLEY!
Ridley (リドリー Ridorī?) is a high-ranking Space Pirate, the archenemy of Samus Aran, and one of the most common recurring characters in the Metroid series, appearing in most of the games. Sadistic and bloodthirsty, Ridley delights in death and destruction, and was responsible for the massacre of the colony K-2L. Since then, he and Samus have clashed several times, with Samus usually emerging the victor. But Ridley's brutality is matched only by his resilience, and he regularly returns from apparent death to do battle with Samus once more. As such, the Space Pirate leader is fittingly referred to as the Cunning God of Death (狡猾の死神?) in his Zero Mission official art on the Japanese website.
Resembling a skeletal dragon with glowing eyes, the true name of Ridley's species is unknown. Despite his bestial appearance, Ridley is known to be highly intelligent and even shown to be capable of speech in the Magazine Z manga. He was also apparently capable of building a robot in his own likeness. Though Ridley often appears in different forms, it is clarified through scans found in the Metroid Prime series, as well as events portrayed in Metroid: Other M, that every one of his incarnations chronologically seen prior to Other M and Metroid Fusion are indeed the same individual (the exception being the Ridley Robot), despite his numerous defeats. Strangely, some of his prior battles ended with his body seemingly exploding, but in-game lore states he survived these violent defeats until Super Metroid. In most games he appears in, he has been the penultimate or ante-penultimate boss.
The manga also revealed that Ridley is extremely adept at survival. Ridley was apparently capable of healing his wounds by eating human flesh, as illustrated in the manga in a part where he claimed that he survived the destruction of his flagship by consuming the bodies and cells of the dead humans in K-2L.
Next to nothing is known of Ridley's pre-military background (if in fact he even had any), but it is safe to say that he made his way up the ranks until finally he was designated military leader of the Space Pirates (or took the role by force). He also appears to have been held in considerable favor among members of High Command.
Gray Voice said that he corrected Ridley's "genetic flaws" with Chozo technology, though the extent of this modification is unknown. Ridley is also outfitted with at least one cybernetic implant prior to becoming Meta Ridley, as he has a transmitter located at the base of his skull that allows his minions to communicate with him.[1]
Meeting Samus Aran
Ridley's introduction took place on the Star Colony K-2L, on which he conducted a massive raid with the main goal being to steal the planet's Afloraltite, but he also allowed his soldiers to destroy whatever they wanted.
During the raid, he met a three-year old girl holding her pet Rabbilis Pyonchi. This little girl was named Samus Aran, and she and Ridley would have a long history together. Amid all the destruction, little naive Samus went up to and asked to befriend Ridley.
Initially feeling pity towards her, Ridley promptly decided to kill her, despite thinking that she was "so cute". Before he could strike, however, Samus' mother pushed her out of the way at the cost of her own life. Ridley was largely unphased by this action, however, as he simply intended to torch everything due to no longer needing to hold back upon gaining access to the Afloraltite. Meanwhile, Samus's father destroyed the supplies the pirates were after, but was himself killed in the blast. Ridley noticed the ship bursting into flame and pondered why it was on fire before the wreckage started heading towards him, to his disbelief.
Ridley also appeared to be injured by the wreckage, but he survived, later claiming to have survived by consuming the flesh of the deceased humans and regrowing his own cells. Little did Ridley know that by orphaning the young Samus, he unknowingly created his own worst enemy (and the enemy of all the Space Pirates) - a mistake that would eventually cost him his life.
Reunion at Zebes
Years later, Ridley arrived at Zebes to establish a Central Command Center beneath the planet's surface. The Pirates would designate Mother Brain as the supreme leader after Ridley's forces annihilated most of the native Chozo civilization established on its surface. Ridley once again met Samus, who suffered from posttraumatic stress disorder upon the sight of him. Ridley traumatized her even further by making sadistic remarks about how he survived the destruction of K-2L by devouring the corpses of dead humans and implying that he may have eaten her mother, stating "At least pay your respects!" However, she escaped and recuperated with the help of her comrades and foiled the Pirates, who were creating genetically engineered troops. Ridley killed Gray Voice when the latter tried to shut down Mother Brain, the rogue Chozo computer (he pretended to join the Space Pirates until he could get close enough to Mother Brain to bring her down, having realized her treachery), first by mortally wounding Gray Voice via impaling him with his tail, then by using his plasma breath on him after the latter interfered with the Space Pirates' attempts to prevent Samus and the others from leaving Zebes.
Later in the manga, Ridley confronted Samus during her Zero Mission, although she was able to triumph over her PTSD and defeat Ridley, even growing bold enough to mock him.
Zero Mission
Up until this time, the Galactic Federation had disregarded Zebes as a low priority, class XIII Wanderer Planet. The Space Research Vessel Marina had begun returning from SR388 to Galactic Federation Headquarters with a newly discovered specimen, dubbed the Metroid. The Pirates swiftly attacked the vessel, destroying it and seizing the specimen, bringing it to Zebes. The Pirates discovered the Metroid's dangerous ability to drain life energy from organisms, its invulnerability to conventional weapons as well as being able to multiply within 24 hours by exposure to beta rays.
Ridley's personal flagship, the Space Pirate Mother Ship fought the fleet under the command of Adam Malkovich, but he later returned to Zebes after receiving a distress signal following the defeat of his comrade Kraid. He reached his lair just in time to come face to face with the brave challenger who would dare invade Zebes, and was surprised to find the challenger was Samus Aran, now a young woman, a Bounty Hunter employed by the Federation to destroy the Metroids and Mother Brain.
Samus was also surprised and enraged to find Ridley, but was able to fight and defeat her nemesis, allowing her to leave with the Unknown Item she had just obtained.
At the end of Samus' Zero Mission, after crash-landing near the Mother Ship, she encountered an incomplete cybernetic construct built by Ridley himself, Robot Ridley. Built in his image, it was designed to be used as a powerful weapon. She managed to destroy it, but in doing so she triggered a self-destruct sequence that was set to obliterate the ship in five minutes. Samus escaped via a hijacked Escape Ship.
Cybernetic Enhancements and Revival
Ridley, though wounded beyond fighting capability, was still alive, even after Samus had supposedly killed him. After the destruction of Tourian, several Pirate ships that were in Zebes' orbit had managed to escape to regroup their strength elsewhere; the crippled Ridley was brought onto one of them, the Frigate Orpheon.
The Space Pirates, by order of High Command, reconstructed his body and infused it with machinery, turning him into "Meta Ridley". His transformation would reach its final stages when the Orpheon arrived on planet Tallon IV's orbit. The crew intended for him to become a mainstay of the Tallon IV group's security force, with their guessing that it would be a job the draconian leader would "certainly relish." When the Parasite Queens broke out on the Frigate Orpheon, Ridley's mechanization wasn't quite fully complete. He re-encountered Samus while she was escaping the exploding frigate, then decided to escape himself. While she stood in shock witnessing her reborn nemesis, Meta Ridley broke free of his restraints and escaped the frigate, flying down to Tallon IV. Samus raced back to the Exterior Docking Hangar and tracked him to the planet below.
As she pursued Ridley, she lost tracking of him, and was required to search for him via ground-based recon. She saw him flying over the Phendrana Shorelines when she arrived at the Phendrana Drifts, and watched him fly away, presumably to the Glacier One facility or even the Phazon Mines to alert the Pirates occupying these bases that the Hunter was here. After Samus destroyed both laboratory operations, she had collected the twelve Chozo Artifacts needed to access the Impact Crater. While preparing to open the Artifact Temple, Meta Ridley flew in and destroyed the Chozo Totems, preventing Samus from accessing the crater. In retaliation, she battled him once again, ultimately doing enough damage to him that the Space Pirate enforcer's plasma wings shorted out and forced him to continue the battle on the ground. At the battle's conclusion, the temple's Chozo Statues, implied to be out of retribution to Meta Ridley destroying the Chozo Totems, blasted Meta Ridley and sent him hurtling into the Impact Crater, where an explosion was seen.
Phazon Crisis
Despite his fall, Meta Ridley somehow survived and returned to the Space Pirates yet again. Sometime before the events of Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, Dark Samus used the power of Phazon to make not only the Pirate ship Colossus's crew, but also all the inhabitants of Urtraghus (a Pirate homeworld) bow to her will, with Meta Ridley included. Now loyal to her, he played a role in the Norion invasion, where Samus fought him once again.
He was first seen by Samus from afar when he easily decimated a squad of Federation Marines. He later tried to attack Samus while she was crossing through a Morph Ball tunnel (where she was quite vulnerable), but she managed to use her Bombs to escape his grip. He then ambushed her in Generator C after she had begun activating it, with the intention of crushing Samus, but instead broke through the glass floor, sending both of them hurtling down the Generator Shaft. Samus had no time to react to his sudden appearance and was forced to battle him again. Ridley was not fully healed from his fight on Tallon IV and still quite weak, allowing Samus to easily defeat him. At the battle's conclusion, she delivered several shots directly into his throat, leaving him to fall the rest of the way down the Generator Shaft as she was rescued by Rundas.
Despite this long fall, Ridley still managed to survive the duel: however, he was so badly wounded this time that he needed pure Phazon to recover. Travelling to the Pirate Homeworld, he eventually became the Pirate Seed's guardian; the massive quantities of raw Phazon given to him directly by the Phazon Core healed his injuries and turned him into "Omega Ridley". Whether or not he willingly approached the Leviathan for healing or was forced (by Dark Samus, his fellow Space Pirates, or even the Leviathan itself) is unknown. Nevertheless, Samus encountered him in the Leviathan and defeated him. However, Ridley's disintegration (unlike other Leviathan guardians) was never actually seen. He may have potentially fled the seed before Samus could notice, due to the massive corruption she herself was receiving.
Metroid Purge
As suspected, Ridley had indeed fled the Leviathan, having survived his crushing defeat as Omega Ridley. He had presumably also managed to regenerate to the extent of shedding roughly half of his cybernetic implants, now taking the name of "Proteus Ridley". With Phazon now lost to them, the Space Pirates turned their attention to the Metroid species once again.
Ridley himself traveled to SR388, presumably to retrieve any Metroids, but by the time he arrived, Samus had already killed all but one of the Metroids on the planet. As Samus was attempting to leave the planet with the infant Metroid in tow, Ridley revealed himself and attempted to abduct the specimen. Although Samus immediately noticed him and attempted to intercept the hatchling, Ridley managed to grab the Metroid and proceeded to do battle with his hated nemesis. After taking some damage, he attempted to escape with his prize, but Samus gave chase, managing after a brief scuffle to grab onto his chest and fire repeatedly at point-blank range until Ridley was forced to let go of the Metroid. Samus promptly grabbed the hatchling, broke away from Ridley, and spun mid-air to fire a blast at his wing before he could close the distance, causing him to slam into the nearby cliffside and pinning him beneath the resulting rubble.
Just when the battle seemed won, however, Ridley broke free of the rocks and immediately redoubled his offensive. Samus held him off, but using his mechanical arm to block her blasts, he managed to buy himself enough of an opening that he was able to fling her against the wall and pin her down before she could recover. As Ridley prepared a direct blast to finish off Samus once and for all, he failed to take notice of the Baby, who latched onto his head and began draining him of energy. Ridley was able to break free of the creature, but at the cost of releasing his grip on Samus and giving the Baby the opportunity it needed to rejuvenate Samus with his energy. In this fashion, Samus and the last surviving Metroid proceeded to fight off Ridley together until he could finally take no more, and he collapsed.
However, shortly after Samus and the Baby's departure, a post-credits scene reveals that Ridley discarded some or all of his mechanical parts afterwards, implying that he had at last fully regenerated the organic components of his body. His discarded robotic claw was nearly eaten by a Hornoad before it was suddenly consumed by a mysterious shapeshifting entity.
Final Battle and Death
After escaping SR388 completely unnoticed and shedding all of his remaining cybernetics, the now fully organic Ridley presumably followed Samus to the Ceres Space Colony, where she had delivered the Baby to the station's scientific staff. Samus had already departed the station when Ridley arrived there, and mercilessly killed the scientists.
Fortunately, a distress call sent out by the scientists was intercepted by Samus, who quickly returned to the station. Ridley remained hidden in the shadows until Samus came upon the baby's containment capsule, ambushing her just before she was able to take the capsule. Samus returned fire, eventually forcing Ridley to activate Ceres' self-destruction sequence and flee with the Metroid hatchling. Samus escaped and pursued Ridley.
He led her back to Zebes, where, as she discovered, some Pirates had stayed behind to rebuild the fortress and return to their old method of raising Metroids. Samus began a rampage through Zebes, killing the reborn Kraid and the newly recruited Phantoon and Draygon before she descended for Ridley's Lair. She dropped down into a chamber and Ridley appeared, preparing to fight her. With the loss of the armor plating from his previous form, he was now much more vulnerable to attack, and Samus was able to defeat him once more. Unfortunately, she found in the connecting chamber the baby's broken capsule, with the baby itself nowhere to be found.
Samus then figured that the Metroid must be in Tourian, and because she defeated all four Pirate leaders, she now had access to the rebuilt Tourian. She proved correct, encountering the baby, now a Big Metroid, and killed Mother Brain for the final time, but not before she witnessed the baby's brutal murder. Samus escaped the self-destruction protocol, destined to obliterate all of Zebes, and it exploded, eradicating from the galaxy Mother Brain, the Space Pirates, the Metroids, and Ridley. This event marks the first true death of Samus' nemesis; currently, all of his future chronological appearances are either clones or imitations of the original individual.
It is unknown how or why Ridley went from his Omega form from Metroid Prime 3 to his purely organic body seen in Super Metroid. It is known, however, that Phazon contains healing properties and also worth noting is that Samus was fully cleansed of all traces of Phazon in her body following the destruction of both Dark Samus and Phaaze; these two factors may have significance on Ridley's curious return. However as shown in Samus Returns, Ridley had apparently slowly begun regenerating his organic body discarding some of his the mechanical parts of his Meta and Omega Ridley forms. By the time he faced Samus on SR388, Proteus Ridley retained only some of his cybernetics. Following his battle with Samus and the Baby, Ridley managed to completely restore his organic body, completely discarding his cybernetic components. This explains why he appears completely organic by the time he confronts Samus on the Ceres Space Colony which occurs shortly after their fight on SR388.
In the Super Metroid comic, Ridley stole the baby and programmed the Main Computer to self-destruct, as in the game. Later, when Mother Brain failed to convince the baby that she was its mother, Ridley captured Chief Hardy and Chairman Keaton, then planned to use them as bait on Samus so she could be destroyed in front of the baby. However, when Samus triumphed Tourian, Ridley decided to leave as "tactical retreat". Keaton then insulted him by calling him a coward for fleeing.
Rebirth
At the beginning of Metroid: Other M, Samus recounted the events of Super Metroid, stating that Zebes' destruction took Mother Brain, the Space Pirates, the baby, and Ridley. However, this is later proved to be only a half-truth.
Unbeknownst to Samus, she had come back with remnants of the Metroids and Ridley stuck to her Power Suit. These were extracted from her and brought to a supposedly derelict facility called the BOTTLE SHIP. Here, a group, dubbed "the ringleaders", used the particles to clone Metroids after abandoning a special-forces unit project using captured bioforms. Ridley was unintentionally cloned by the Lab Workers of the ship.
Initially, he appeared as a small creature the researchers did not recognize. Seeing no potential for use as a bioweapon, the creature was instead raised as a pet nicknamed "Little Birdie." They were oblivious to the fact that this small animal was actually Ridley's juvenile form. At some point, "little birdie" pretended to be dead to lure an unfortunate Lab Worker into its cage; when the worker opened the cage, the creature killed him and escaped.
Samus, after following a distress call to the BOTTLE SHIP, found the remains of the scientist in the Breeding Room. As she examined the scientist, she stated that she felt a chill in the air, the presence of a "dark intelligence", since the carcass was violently ripped apart.
Shortly after this, Samus meets "little birdie" as the creature tries and fails to climb atop a piece of fruit. Samus did not see the creature as a threat, so she left it alone and continued on into the Biosphere. However, little birdie stalked her to the Exam Center unseen, and provoked many wildlife into battling her through its piercing screeches (sending nearby creatures in a panic), including Zeros. After destroying the King Kihunter and its hive, she saw little birdie eating the Kihunter colony's honey, and it roared at her. Samus found the creature to be a "disgusting beast" because it used her to destroy the Kihunter nest so it could feed on its nectar, and by how greedily it ate the nectar.
At the Exam Center, Samus saw the 07th Platoon being confronted by a Mystery Creature. The creature also noticed Samus, and roared at her. Rushing to their aid, she saw the troops firing above the door she came from, and turned around just in time to see the lizard jump from the wall above and pin her down. The creature, at this point, seemed uninterested in the troopers, and focused its attack efforts on Samus. While holding her down, the lizard called forth various bioforms to attack the troops. Samus fended off the creature's attacks, and before it was able to kill her, Anthony Higgs managed to fend off the beast with his Plasma Gun. The creature convulsed after being shot and fled, barely escaping another shot and crashing into a wall hidden by holographic scenery.
After investigating the scene and discovering the mutilated body of Lyle Smithsonian, Samus followed a trail of green blood to find the empty shell of "little birdie" with its back ripped open, implying the small creature was a juvenile form of the lizard. Adam ordered her to follow the creature to the Pyrosphere, but shortly afterward, told Samus to head to the Cryosphere instead to search for survivors. After finding one and losing her, Adam noticed that the wavelength frequencies of the lizard were growing more aggressive, and told Samus to go back to the Pyrosphere yet again, with the order to activate her Plasma Beam if she encountered it. Samus eventually found the lizard-creature's husk bound to a wall, again with its back torn open from within.
Samus carried on until she reached the Geothermal Power Plant, after hearing from Adam that the creature appeared to be moving towards there. She was suddenly targeted by a red-laser sight, and believing it to be an attacker, pointed her Arm Cannon at the person. It turned out to be Anthony, who was already in the room to restore power while targeting an unseen monster in the room when Samus got in the way.
Rushing behind the wall with Anthony, both tried to hide from the creature, who was taking cover in the shadows and launching fire attacks at them. The creature destroyed the bridge to the exit, preventing Samus and Anthony from leaving. Samus told Anthony she would deal with the monster, and used a Super Missile to complete his mission and destroy the magma-eruption port, raising the lava level and flooding the chamber with light. Samus then turned to see a dark, winged figure rising over the platform. Samus was incredibly shocked to find that the monster she had been tracking was her nemesis, somehow reborn even after his death on Zebes: Ridley.
Samus reacted to Ridley's appearance with a mental lapse for the first time since before becoming a bounty hunter. She was too overcome with shock and horror to concentrate properly, allowing Ridley to grab her, her Power Suit deteriorating from lack of concentration. This forced Anthony to use his Plasma Gun to save her again. He then goaded the beast into attacking him in hopes of giving Samus time to recover, though Ridley knocked him off the platform, apparently into the lava, and then prevented Samus from rescuing him. Seeing what appeared to be the death of her close friend, Samus was able to compose herself, equip the Plasma Beam, and do battle with Ridley once again.
After Ridley's body was sufficiently ravaged by Samus in her rage, he fell to the platform, seemingly dead yet again. Samus, after looking over the edge to see if Anthony indeed survived, was suddenly attacked again by a revived Ridley. The two fought again until Ridley escaped by breathing fire to create a hole in the wall and rammed through it.
Later on, immediately before Adam detaches Sector Zero, he gives Samus several final orders, one of which is for her to destroy Ridley, because he is as "much of a threat as the Metroids".
A weakened, heavily wounded Ridley was later seen at the mercy of a large creature (which turned out to be a Queen Metroid). Though Ridley made a vain attempt to escape, he is quickly killed. Samus arrived shortly to find his body as a gray and lifeless husk, making her wonder what could have happened. After the post-credits, Ridley's corpse is no longer there. It is assumed that the Galactic Federation took the body of Ridley's clone and transferred it to the Biologic Space Laboratories research station, where it was frozen to be preserved and seen in Metroid Fusion.
It is currently impossible to determine whether or not Ridley's clone retained the memories of his original form's past life. It is interesting to note that the clone's adolescent form focused its attacks on Samus; this suggests that either he remembered his past encounters with her, or this was a result based on instinct in which he simply perceived her as the greater threat. However, the second theory would not explain why the clone's adult form toyed solely with Samus in a sadistic manner during their reunion in the Pyrosphere and not with his other victim (Anthony).
X infection
The Ridley clone's corpse was collected from the BOTTLE SHIP and stored at the Biologic Space Laboratories research station, in a Sub-Zero Containment. Samus eventually stumbled inside the containment chamber during her mission on the BSL. She approached the frozen corpse and witnessed not only its eyes glow, but also an X Parasite leaving the body, resulting in its collapse. This X Parasite traveled to another location and, using the DNA it took from the clone, perfectly imitated the immobile, dried husk seen near the end of Other M. When Samus encounters the imitation, the parasite proceeded to heavily mutate it, resulting in a far more menacing creature called Neo Ridley. This duplicate had a much smaller wingspan and a more green tint to its skin, and it even possessed the frozen pose of the clone's corpse. Like always, Samus was able to best this Ridley, his body fading away completely into the X Parasite. Samus absorbs this parasite, obtaining the Screw Attack ability, Ridley presumed to have died for the final time.
Me: Ridley!
Samus: My old nemesis!
Janeen Aran: Our nemesis!
Gandrayda: Oh man!
Me: And he's got the Metroid Baby!
Laney: I'll face him!
Laney fired blasts of fire and Lincoln fired blasts of lightning at him and they burned and electrocuted him all over and he dropped the Metroid Baby and Lana grabbed it. Ridley then flew away. Then the alarm sounded!
Me: Uh oh!
Computer: SELF DESTRUCT SEQUENCE HAS BEEN ACTIVATED. EVACUATE COLONY IMMEDIATELY.
Me: Lets get out of here!
We got out of there fast and we got on board the ship and flew out of there as the Colony exploded.
KRABBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
We were following Ridley to the planet Zebes and we landed on the rain soaked mountains of the Crateria area.
Crateria (クレテリア Kureteria?) is the surface area of planet Zebes. Samus Aran lands her Gunship in this area in Metroid: Zero Mission and Super Metroid. It connects multiple areas, such as Maridia, the Wrecked Ship, Brinstar, Norfair, Chozodia and Tourian.
Crateria is mountainous and rocky and contained many caves for Samus Aran to explore. It has little vegetation, except for grass and other small plants. Starting after Tourian's destruction in Metroid: Zero Mission, the landing site is constantly drenched by Acid Rain; the Metroid manga suggests that Acid Rain has always been a part of Zebes. This rain cannot harm Samus due to the physical adaptations she had gone through while on Zebes. The surface temperature of Crateria is noted to be very cold, but Samus is protected by the insulation provided in the basic Power Suit.
Directly west of the landing site is a rocky cave. Further down is the site of the original Tourian from Metroid and Zero Mission; its remains can be found on the way to Brinstar's rocky zone in Super Metroid. The rocky cave also connects to tunnels with large mushrooms, leading to Brinstar's underground jungle area. There is also a room with Golden Statues that serves as the gateway to the new rebuilt Tourian.
In Zero Mission, Chozo Ruins can be found east of the landing site on the way to Chozodia, as well as items left behind for Samus by the Chozo including the Power Grip upgrade and Unknown Item 1. In the flooded cavern, there are large pools of water on the way to Maridia, housing the Wrecked Ship.
Several pools of scalding-hot lava can be found in upper Crateria, as well as lots of water; this intense lava is identical to that seen in Ridley's Hideout, presumably having reached the planet's surface through a volcano created by diverging or converging of tectonic plates. Crateria is the area with the most water on Zebes besides Maridia. This superheated lava rises and falls with Lava Tides.
Along with Brinstar, Crateria is the only place on Zebes where humans can survive naturally unaided by technology or biological augmentation, indicating that its environment is habitable and has a breathable atmosphere. In the manga, Mother Brain states that the young Samus would only be able to survive in Brinstar and Crateria. As a result, the Chozo decide to infuse Samus's body with Chozo DNA provided by Gray Voice, which allows her to survive in other areas of Zebes outside of Brinstar and Crateria.
We got out.
Me: Wow. So this is the planet Zebes.
Laney: It's sure gloomy and mountainous.
Lucy Loud: I could get used to a planet like this.
Nico: It sure is creepy as well.
William: Samus, since you know this planet, you take the lead.
Samus: Okay.
We followed Samus and we saw that Zebes was a strange world. It was a creepy world.
Me: Wow. This is a really creepy world.
Sora: And it's crawling with all kinds of alien creatures.
Kairi: Yeah.
We entered the caves of Crateria and we saw that it was a strange place. It was dark and foreboding.
Nico: It sure is gloomy.
Me: Yeah.
We explored and discovered all kinds of things.
Samus: Let me show you something.
Samus took us into a room and we saw a mysterious golden statue. It looked like it was 4 creatures stuck together and their eyes were glowing in 4 colors. They were the Golden Statues.
The Golden Statues appear in Super Metroid and are the successors to the Stone Statues encountered in Metroid and Metroid: Zero Mission. They have the same role of guarding the entrance to Tourian, the Space Pirate headquarters on Zebes. An ominous theme plays whenever Samus is inside the room holding the statues.
Each statue represents the four major bosses in the game before Mother Brain. These bosses include Kraid, Phantoon, Draygon, and Ridley. Ridley rests atop the head of Phantoon, while Kraid and Draygon are to Phantoon's sides. Each statue's eyes are made up of glowing orbs and are colored differently for each boss: green (Kraid), yellow (Phantoon), blue (Draygon) and red (Ridley). Because of the importance connected to them, the statues imply that Draygon and Phantoon are affiliated with the Space Pirates, as the other two are already known to be high-ranking members of the marauding organization.
Function
As Samus defeats the bosses depicted, their corresponding statues' eyes will glow intensely before shattering and will each one-by-one release a ghost-like entity out of their hollowed eyes and lose their golden glow, turn into a shade of gray, and seemingly "die". Strangely, all the eyes except Ridley's statue will flash brightly in their respective color; Ridley's will flash purple, despite the eye being initially red.
Once all four are defeated, the entire structure will sink to the bottom of the chamber, caving in the floor and revealing the underwater entrance to Tourian. Some points of the statue will also be covered in a moss-like substance once submerged in water.
Me: Wow. This statue is strange.
Samus: Yes. It's the statues of the 4 guardians we have to defeat before we go to Tourian to defeat Mother Brain.
Me: I see.
Nico: Looks like we have our work cut out for us.
Me: Yep.
Samus: I'll lead you all to the first guardian.
Me: Okay.
Samus lead us to the jungle area of the planet, Brinstar. It was a beautiful and immensely beautiful area full of life and plants and creatures.
Brinstar (ブリンスタ Burinsuta?) is an underground complex of caverns and jungles on Zebes. Home to many creatures, Brinstar is used as a Space Pirate base, and is relatively easy to navigate. The area appears in Metroid, Zero Mission, and Super Metroid. It is well-known as the area containing the Starting Point, the very first room of the entire Metroid game series.
The original Brinstar was the first area Samus Aran explored during her first mission on Zebes. Its many tunnels and caverns were chiefly comprised of blue, orange and occasionally green rock, with pools of acid here and there. It was relatively easy to navigate, but was teeming with life. In the original Metroid manual, the horizontal corridors are named Corridor No. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5.
After Mother Brain's first defeat, this area fell into ruin, and it was almost completely desolate by the time Samus returned here years later. However, "Eye" security systems had since been set up here, and as Samus searched Old Brinstar they alerted the Space Pirates to her presence. By this point, all that remained of Old Brinstar were three of the blue-rock areas: The Starting Point where Samus acquired the Morph Ball (curiously, it is present there once more); the room leading down to the elevator to Kraid's Lair (the door to the elevator has been blocked off, though a new door leading to Missiles is on the opposite side); and a corridor containing a large block with a small crevice that the Morph Ball can fit through (the door previously present behind the block is gone as well; a Missile Tank is in its place). The Energy Tank hidden within one of the ceiling's rocks in the first Metroid is there once again. Aside from these three areas, nothing remained of the original Brinstar after Tourian's destruction, making it one of the smallest areas in Super Metroid. However, the Brinstar region also expanded into two additional, larger areas.
Upper Brinstar
Unlike the lifeless original Brinstar, the underground jungle of Upper Brinstar was teeming with life: Overgrown with vegetation, it was home to many species of flora and fauna. There were many flowers in the background that may be related to the Cyrlic Tree. This area is also the most maze-like. Spore Spawn inhabited this area, before it was defeated by Samus. Notable locations in this area are the "n00b bridge" and "Hell".
Lower Brinstar
The "Red Soil Swampy Area" is more straightforward. As its moniker suggests, the soil in this sub-area is red. The main shaft of this area faintly pulsates a violet color; the source of this light is unknown, but presumably mechanical in nature. There are also numerous pools of water here, as well as many Samus Eaters. This area also became the new site of Kraid's Lair, and the new residence of Kraid himself (while Kraid's Lair lacks any of the red soil, the music from the area still plays up until a corridor two rooms before Kraid).
Me: Whoa!
Laney: Wow! Look at all the plants and life.
Nico: It's breathtaking.
Lana: It sure is.
We went into the jungles of Brinstar and we saw all kinds of creatures and more. We saw all sorts of amazing plants and animals. We got to one room and we saw the SPORE SPAWN!
Spore Spawn (スポア・スポーン supoa supōn) is a miniboss in Super Metroid. Reached from the top of the large pink room in upper Brinstar, it guards the game's first set of Super Missiles.
Spore Spawn is a gigantic plant that was genetically engineered by the Space Pirates. When Samus enters the room, spores released by indestructible, flower-like bioforms located on the ceiling begin to fill the air and the creature's main body descends from the ceiling to swing back and forth in perpetual figure eights. Its shell is impenetrable to all of Samus' weapons: Spore Spawn can only be damaged when it stops to open its mouth to reveal its glowing core. This opportunity initially appears once every three cycles. When dealt some damage, Spore Spawn turns darker, moves twice as fast, and reveals its core once every six cycles.
It takes five Charge Beam shots to reach Spore Spawn's second stage, and an additional three to kill it. With Missiles, the respective numbers are six and four. Neither the Charge Beam nor a large supply of Missiles is needed, as Missiles can be refilled by shooting the falling spores. The spores themselves do little damage individually, and compared to later enemies, even contact with the Spore Spawn itself doesn't do much damage. However, at this point, Samus will usually have very few energy tanks, so even that small amount of damage can be trouble. Damage to Samus from direct contact can be avoided by staying in a corner in Morph Ball mode, though the floating spores can still be troublesome. However, when Samus stays in Morph Ball mode on top of the the left ledge and stays in the corner, Spore Spawn won't hit her, and the falling spores won't come in contact with her, because that part of the room is not in their flight pattern. This strategy, however, can backfire. Should Spore Spawn reveals his core around the corner Samus is in it will inflict massive damage and possibly prevent Samus from attacking it this cycle.
When the Spore Spawn is defeated, the ceiling will collapse, simultaneously killing the four flower-like bioforms on it. The entire room (along with the background) and the Spore Spawn will dry up, leaving behind a dried husk. The dead Spore Spawn head is one of the few objects in the game that will shake when Wall Jumped onto.
Me: Whoa! The Spore Spawn!
Samus: That's right.
Janeen: I got this.
Janeen fired a powerful blast of lightning and electrocuted it all over.
Ratchet: Lets do it! CYBER KEY POWER!
The Autobot Cyber Planet Key went into his back and enhanced his Arc-Welder 100-fold.
Mako: Time for some action! AVATAR CYBER KEY POWER!
The Avatar Cyber Planet Key went into his right arm device and enhanced his Firebending 100-fold.
Ratchet and Mako: FIRE SWORD SUPER BURNSLASH!
Mako formed a powerful sword of fire and Ratchet formed his Arc-Welder into a sword and they slashed the Spore Spawn and burned it. Reducing it to a dead dry husk.
Stella (Loud House): Awesome!
Hunter: (German Accent) Vunderbar.
Nemo: That was really well done.
Lincoln: It sure was.
Me: Yep.
We later encountered the two creatures that Samus knew. It was an ostrich-like creature called a Dachora and we ran into monkey-like creatures called Etecoons.
Dachora
The Dachora (Dachola in Super Metroid Nintendo Player's Guide) are a species of ostrich-like animals found on planet Zebes.
An adult Dachora appears in Super Metroid, in which it teaches Samus Aran how to perform a Shinespark, a technique used with the Speed Booster. The Dachora continuously runs back and forth through a long corridor, building up speed before crouching and jumping extremely high; by imitating its motions, Samus can execute the Shinespark. A nest with an egg can be seen in the background.
Later, in the escape sequence in the end of the game, the Dachora and Etecoons are trapped in the Torizo's room in Crateria, which is being flooded with scalding-hot lava. Samus can rescue the trapped animals before the planet explodes; if she does so, a tiny white spaceship will be visible leaving the planet along with Samus's Gunship during the ending sequence. Although their rescue is optional in Super Metroid, the action is considered canon due to the fact that the same Dachora and Etecoons make a reappearance in Metroid Fusion.
The appearance in Fusion shows that the egg from Super Metroid had hatched, with a small Dachora chick as the result. The Dachoras and Etecoons are seen as the sole survivors of the X Parasite infestation aboard the Biologic Space Laboratories research station. They are found on the Habitation Deck, confined in a sealed, tropical themed area with hanging tires for the Etecoons to play on. It is unknown why these creatures were on board, or why the X did not target them as potential hosts, though Adam suggests the creatures had no useful capabilities for the X. After Samus releases them, the Dachoras and Etecoons go to Samus' Gunship, and they later save Samus from the space station's explosion after the defeat of the Omega Metroid by piloting her gunship into the Docking Bays to rescue her.
Etecoons
Etecoons (Etekon in the Metroid Fusion debug data) are blue, monkey-like creatures that inhabited the planet Zebes, and one of the few non-violent species Samus encountered there.
In Super Metroid, these rather intelligent mammals taught Samus how to Wall Jump to reach greater heights. When Samus enters their room, they sing the Item Acquisition Fanfare, before teaching Samus the Wall Jump.
Later in the game, they are trapped along with the Dachora in the room where Samus fought the Torizo, which is now being flooded with scalding-hot lava. Samus is able to save them by shooting out the wall so they can escape, and they flee Zebes using a spacecraft.
The Etecoons and Dachoras appear again in Metroid Fusion, on board the Biologic Space Laboratories research station as the sole survivors of the X Parasite infestation. They are found on the Habitation Deck, confined in a sealed, tropical themed area with hanging tires for the Etecoons to play on. It is unknown why these creatures were on board, or why the X did not target them as potential hosts, though Adam suggests the creatures had no useful capabilities for the X. After Samus releases them, the Etecoons and Dachoras went to Samus's Gunship, and they later save Samus from the space station's explosion after the defeat of the Omega Metroid by piloting her gunship into the room to rescue her.
Me: Wow. So these are the Dachora and Etecoons.
Samus: That's right. They are my friends. I've encountered them on my adventures. they know me.
Lola: (Squeals) They are so adorable!
Maria: They sure are.
Laney: Wow!
Me: It's really amazing that they know you Samus.
Janeen: I thought so too.
We beamed them onto the ship and we went further into Brinstar and we found the entrance into the domain of the first guardian. We entered it and we felt the ground shake and out of the ground arose KRAID!
Kraid (クレイド Kureido?) is a corpulent, three-eyed green reptilian extraterrestrial from the Metroid series. He is one of the largest enemies Samus ever encounters in her missions, taking up multiple screens at a time. He is featured in Metroid, its remake Metroid: Zero Mission and Super Metroid.
Kraid is a Space Pirate, and though his rank within the marauding race has never been officially stated, he is likely a high-ranked member and may even be a leader, as he is a prominent boss in his canon appearances. Notably, he is part of the original game's boss duo, the other being his comrade Ridley.
Additionally, Kraid is described in the Metroid Prime manual alongside Ridley as the Space Pirate armies' "mainstays"; one could easily imagine this colossus as the muscle and backbone behind Pirate attacks and raids. As is the case with the Pirates stationed on Zebes, Kraid is not a native of the planet and his origins, along with his homeworld, remain unknown. Both of Samus Aran's missions on Zebes require Kraid to be killed, among others, as a means to infiltrate the Pirate HQ, Tourian.
A press kit profile for Super Metroid has Samus refer to Kraid as the "brutal ruler of Brinstar". In official Zero Mission art on the Japanese website, Kraid is titled the Awakened Behemoth (目覚めた巨獣生物).
Lana: Whoa!
Me: Kraid!
Samus: That's right.
Sophie Casterwill: (British accent) Me and Juleka will handle this.
Juleka: Lets do it! SWANNO! Spread my wings!
Juleka became Maestra.
Juleka fired a blast of white energy and Sophie fired a powerful Boltflare Blast.
Sophie Casterwill and Juleka as Maestra: SWAN LIGHTNING BURSTFIRE!
The blasts combined and turned into a swan and it slammed into Kraid and blew him apart in a massive explosion.
Me: Whoa! That was awesome!
Nico: It sure was.
Samus: Yeah. Well done guys.
We then headed back to Crateria and we went to the next area. We went into the Wrecked Ship.
The Wrecked Ship was a spacecraft that crashed long ago on planet Zebes, specifically in the area where Chozodia would be established. In Super Metroid, it is where one of the main bosses, Phantoon, resides. This area was also glimpsed briefly in Metroid: Zero Mission.
In Super Metroid, the vessel is found partially sunk in a large lake in Crateria. The ship can be accessed by Samus in a variety of ways, but all initial explorations inside reveal it to be haunted by ghost-like entities called Covern who, along with Phantoon, were initially believed to be the spirits of the deceased crew and the crashed vessel itself, respectively. When Samus Aran first enters the area, the Save Stations and Map Station are without power and most of the ship's interior is blocked off by Metal Doors. Sbugs can be seen throughout the unlit sections of the vessel along with non-functioning Work Robots and encased Atomics.
After the boss is defeated, all supernatural activity ceases as the energy that was being absorbed by Phantoon returns to the ship, activating mechanisms such as conveyors and allowing Samus to completely explore the area. However, this triggers the appearance of living creatures on board (presumably entering from the outside through the now-active Doors) and creates hazards in the form of short-circuiting machinery and Kzans. Additionally, the Atomics and Work Robots begin roaming the interior and are both aggressive. Finally, several rooms become flooded with water after the ship gets re-energized, likely a result from doors near Crateria's lakes being re-activated.
Me: Whoa. This place gives me the creeps.
Laney: What is this place.
Samus: It's a ship that crashed here long ago. It's said to be that of a Space Pirate ship that was destroyed ages ago.
Me: Wow.
Lily: It sure is scary.
Nico: No kidding.
Me: Lets see what's here.
Courtney: Okay.
We went into the ship and in a room we encountered the ghost boss PHANTOON!
Phantoon (ファントゥーン Fantūn) is a spectral entity that is mostly intangible and thus invulnerable to any form of attack, except for its single eye. It is this eye that, when open, serves as its connection to the mortal world and can be damaged. Ranging in size from four meters tall to ten times as large as Samus' ship, Phantoon resembles a giant cephalopod with a single eye inside a large mouthlike eyelid.
It feeds off raw energy without directly interfacing with wires or equipment and has only been seen drawn to sources of energy from abandoned ships, such as the Wrecked Ship and BOTTLE SHIP. The specter also taps into Mother Brain's "vicious brainwaves," meaning that Mother Brain may have some control over it, or that Phantoon simply feeds off of her energy. Nevertheless, based on its portrayal among the bosses in the Golden Statues, Phantoon appears to be allied with the Space Pirates in some capacity.
Background
Phantoon's origin has received alterations from several sources over the years. The English and Japanese manuals for Super Metroid both gave a different background of Phantoon, describing it as either being the ghost of the Wrecked Ship itself that taps into Mother Brain's thought-waves or as being the physical manifestation of Mother Brain's malevolent consciousness, respectively.
Another version of Phantoon's background is given in its concept art for Other M, which describes it as an entity who was hidden within a vessel used by the Chozo long ago - it apparently traveled with the ancient race through space for an unknown amount of time until they reached planet Zebes, where the vessel would eventually become the Wrecked Ship. The same concept art further describes Phantoon as a multidimensional creature whose entire body cannot exist in a single dimension, thus giving it its ghost-like characteristics. This signifies that the body that Samus sees as Phantoon in both games is but a portion of its overall structure, in which its full size, mass and appearance remain unknown.
Interesting to note is Super Metroid's manual describing the Wrecked Ship as having crashed on Zebes. Given Phantoon's malevolent nature and its tendency to absorb the energy of starships, it may very well have been responsible for the Chozo ship's arrival on the planet.
Me: Phantoon!
Lola: He is ugly!
Laney: Lets get him Lok!
Lok: Right!
Laney: WOOLL! WARM UP!
Laney turned into Celtic Sheep!
Lok fired an Augerfrost blast and Laney fired a Celtic Triquetra blast.
Lok and Laney as Celtic Sheep: CELTIC LIGHTNING BURST!
The blasts combined and they slammed into Phantoon and blew him apart into nothing.
Me: Nice work!
Samus: Well done.
Nico: Yeah!
We then proceeded to the next area and we arrived in the murky swampy area Maridia.
Maridia (マリーディア Marīdia) is an aquatic area of Zebes. It was once a part of Brinstar (namely, Corridor No. 3 and Corridor No. 4), but it appears that some incident submerged this area completely in water. It is teeming with marine life, and is a thriving underwater ecosystem. It is very difficult for Samus to fully explore this area without acquisition of the Gravity Suit upgrade. It only appears in Super Metroid and is home to Botwoon and Draygon.
Base Maridia
The base subsection of Maridia is connected directly to the most remote sections of Brinstar by a transparent glass tunnel, which can be shattered with a Power Bomb. There is a similar tube in Metroid: Zero Mission which requires the exact same method to destroy, required to get all items. This subsection is composed of the green-tinted stone characteristic of Brinstar, and various species of aquatic flora and fauna which also inhabit the surface of Crateria, near the entrance to the Wrecked Ship. The main atmospheric quality of this subsection is that the environment is very dark and very quiet. A small number of Space Pirates wearing special aquatic gear can be found here. Only a small amount of technology has been integrated into this environment, Space Pirate or otherwise, mainly consisting of a number of Powered Doors and a moderately high number of Grapple Points. This subsection connects directly to both of the other subsections of Maridia, and contains no major boss.
Sandy Maridia
This subsection of Maridia has been heavily integrated with Space Pirate technology and artificial structures. It is a noticeable departure from the quiet and placid Base Maridia, and contains several species of highly dangerous organisms, some of which are artificial. The entire subsection is riddled with pits of quicksand, possibly created by an erosive effect brought on by the addition of a great deal of unnatural installation. Evidently, by the extensive integration of technology, the Space Pirates use this area as a base, most likely with Draygon as commander of the sector. The majority of the landscape is characterized by sand pits, artificial stonework, and rusting metal structures. Environmental hazards presented in this subsection of Maridia make the area highly difficult to navigate safely. Along with Draygon, Botwoon is also a boss present in this area. The Space Jump and Spring Ball are acquired in this subsection.
Upper Maridia
The environmental features of Upper Maridia are characterized by a landscape composed mainly of a Sandstone-like material, which is completely overgrown with hanging green foliage. This subsection of Maridia is distinguished by the fact that a great deal of it is located over water. Local wildlife inhabiting this area is also highly similar to that of the surface of Crateria, which evidently links directly to this area, (through a passage only accessible by traveling through the Wrecked Ship). Two sub-areas of this section are divided between "Base Maridia" and "Sandy Maridia", but this is only distinguishable by change in music. The sub-area connected to Base Maridia has several hidden expansions and pickups, but does not contain any major bosses or upgrades. The sub-area connected to Sandy Maridia also contains several expansions and pickups, along with the Plasma Beam upgrade and a small number of Space Pirates, but also no major bosses. This subsection of Maridia is the smallest of the three areas.
Me: Whoa. Look at this place.
Samus: This is the aquatic section of the planet. It's called Maridia.
Janeen: It sure is creepy and swampy.
Nico: It sure is.
Lola: Yeah.
Laney: I would not like this part of the planet. It sure looks treacherous.
Lisa Loud: My thoughts exactly.
Lucy Loud: As long as there's darkness I wouldn't mind.
Brittney: It would be perfect though.
Me: Lets go.
Samus: Right.
Samus lead us around and we encountered the serpentine creature BOTWOON!
Botwoon (ボツーン Botsūn) is an aquatic serpent that resides in Maridia. It is fought as a Mini-Boss encountered in Super Metroid.
When Samus Aran encounters it, it will swim around the room, entering and exiting four holes in the wall. It will sometimes poke its head out of a hole and spit green spores in a buckshot-like spray; these spores can be destroyed for pickups. Apart from this, its only means of attack is colliding with Samus as it passes between holes.
To defeat Botwoon, Samus must fire Missiles, Super Missiles, or Charge Beam shots at its head; the rest of its body is invulnerable. As it incurs damage, its red color scheme will become more intense, and it will speed up, making it harder to hit and avoid. Once Botwoon has been defeated, it will stop slithering around, and chunks of its body will rapidly fall to the floor and explode. Botwoon's death opens up the right wall so that Samus can continue exploring Maridia.
Laney: Whoa!
Me: Botwoon!
Samus: Very dangerous creature.
Leni: We totes got this.
Emerald: Lets do it!
Emerald fired a blast of pink energy and Leni fired a blast of gravity lightning.
Emerald and Leni: UNICORN GRAVITY BURST!
The blasts combined and they turned into a deadly unicorn and they slammed into Botwoon and blew it apart.
Me: Nice job girls!
Ed: Way to go!
Luan: You sure brought the Law of Gravity to it. (Laughs) Get it?
Most of us laughed while everyone else sighed.
Me: (Laughs) That was a good one Luan!
Eddy: (Laughs) Good one!
Nico: (Laughs) That was a good one.
We continued on and we went into a chamber and we encountered DRAYGON!
The Draygon (ドレイゴン Doreigon) is a major boss from Super Metroid. It is a sort of waterborn crustacean, with a hard outer shell and soft underbelly. It seems to be a fully developed Evir and even has a few hatchlings, which are present in the chamber that it dwells in. It is found in its own chamber, one of the last accessible rooms of Maridia.
Its defeat allows access to the room which holds the Space Jump ability, and is one of the four bosses necessary to defeat in order to enter Tourian as it is depicted on the Golden Statues. This heavily implies that the Draygon and Phantoon are high-ranking Space Pirates in the same way Kraid and Ridley are, indicating that the former two are not mindless creatures, but intelligent beings despite their monstrous appearances.
Me: Draygon!
Laney: He's ugly!
Zarya: Me and Becky will handle him.
Becky: This is gonna be awesome!
Zarya fired a barrage of energy arrows and Becky fired a tornado of leaves.
Zarya and Becky: WOLF LEAF STORM CUT!
The blasts combined and cut Draygon all over the place and killed him.
Me: Yeah! Way to go girls!
Zarya: Thanks J.D.
Me: We have one more guardian to take down and that's Ridley.
Samus: And the only place he's located in is Norfair.
Me: Here we go.
We exited Maridia and we entered the Volcanic land of Norfair.
Norfair (ノルフェア Norufea) is an underground volcanic area on planet Zebes.
Also known as the fire zone, Norfair is comprised of lava-filled caverns and tunnels, and the large amount of molten rock throughout the region is collectively known as the fire-sea. Its extreme heat is so intense in many areas that Samus Aran is unable to access most of Norfair's key points without protection from the Varia Suit upgrade. Even then, the pools of magma scattered throughout this region can still harm her until she acquires the Gravity Suit. This region is home to many heat-thriving creatures naturally adapted to survive in these high temperatures.
Much of Norfair's natural environment consists of volcanic caverns. Some of these caves are comprised of glass bubbles and blue/purple or green bubble-bricks among the natural green rock, giving the area an alien and organic aesthetic; some of these bubbles are even melting and dripping from the ceiling, similar to stalactites. The environment permeates even the rooms containing silver metallic architecture and Chozo artifacts, which are often filled with pools of lava beneath.
In Metroid and Zero Mission, the blue-bubble shaft on the far right side of Norfair scales the entire height of the area, connecting to all major points of interest.
Located directly beneath Brinstar, Norfair is the deepest area of the Space Pirate fortress on Zebes. Besides Tourian, the lower part of Norfair is probably the most dangerous place on Zebes, as it is home to the lair of the Space Pirate commander Ridley.
Me: Wow. So this is Norfair.
Lola: Man it's really hot down here.
Laney: It's like we've entered the interior of the planet.
Lana: No kidding.
Samus: That's right. It's the Fire Zone of Zebes. Stay close.
Me: Okay.
We walked around the fiery rooms of Norfair and it was a terrifying and amazing place as we saw all kinds of strange things. The heat from the area was incredible and it was making us stronger and more powerful. We then arrived in a strange room full of glass bubbles.
Me: Wow. This is amazing!
Laney: I've never seen a room full of glass bubbles.
Nico: This is really amazing. It's like we've stepped into a huge glass workshop in the planet.
Samus: That is really cool huh?
Lana: It sure is something.
Me: This is really something.
Lana and Lola decided to pick up some samples and take them with them.
We later arrived in another room and we encountered CROCOMIRE!
The Crocomire (クロコマイヤー Kurokomaiyā) is a miniboss in Super Metroid. It is found in Croc's pit in Norfair on the way to finding the Grapple Beam.
Unlike nearly all other enemies in Super Metroid, the Crocomire cannot be killed by conventional means. Samus Aran's weapons (such as Missiles, Super Missiles, and the Charge Beam) shot into the mouth only succeed in making the beast take several steps backward, depending on the power of the weapon. No matter what attack is used, the first hit against Crocomire will only push him back a very small distance.
Crocomire does not attack Samus until she attacks it first. When not being attacked, it sluggishly lumbers forward. Curiously, if a Power Bomb is used against it, the Crocomire will become enraged and charge forward much further compared to when it is not under attack.
Behind the Crocomire lies a thin bridge covering a pool of scalding-hot lava. Behind Samus lies a wall of spikes. Thus, the battle is sort of a shoving match between Samus and the Crocomire: the former's goal is to push the large creature onto the bridge while the latter attempts to push Samus onto the wall of Spikes with its body. The beast periodically shoots plasma balls from its mouth and will try to rake her with its claws; its projectiles can be destroyed for health and missiles. If Samus is repeatedly unsuccessful at preventing the creature from advancing, it will eventually and suddenly sprint to tackle Samus against the hazardous wall with its body, causing considerable damage. It will then take a few steps back before sprinting again.
When Samus manages to push the Crocomire onto the thin bridge, it will collapse under its weight, thus making the beast fall into the superheated lava. The creature will rise and sink in the substance erratically, roaring in pain as its flesh melts off its bones. Eventually, it sinks out of sight, giving a false sense that the battle is over - yet the room's doors remain locked and Samus can observe a trail of bubbles from the lava below traveling away to the other side of the chamber.
When she reaches the wall of spikes, the screen rumbles for a brief moment, and the Crocomire's skeleton rips through the wall. However, due to the fact that it is now only a pile of bones, it quickly falls apart in front of Samus. Its skull will remain on the floor for the rest of her mission on Zebes until the planet is destroyed.
Me: Crocomire!
Nico: Whoa! He's ugly!
Lola: And too hot to handle!
Whitney: Me and Piper got this!
Piper: Yeah!
Piper fired a huge blast of fire and Whitney fired a massive blast of flowers.
Piper and Whitney: PHOENIX FLOWER MEGABURST!
The blasts combined and turned into a Phoenix made of pure flowers and it slammed into Crocomire and sent him into the lava! He was being burned alive! What a horrible and painful death. He got to a wall on the other side and we saw him as a skeleton smashing through the wall and he fell to the ground and fell apart. All that was left of him was his skeleton.
Nico: Whoa!
Me: That was wicked.
Lucy Loud: It sure was. He'll make a perfect trophy for me and my collection.
Vince: Go for it.
Lucy sealed the skull of Crocomire into a scroll.
We then continued on and we were down in the ruins of Chozo Ancestors. We saw that it was a huge temple and it was immense and huge.
Me: Wow. So this is where Ridley likes to hide out.
Samus: Yep.
Lana: It sure looks old.
Laney: What are these bird statues.
Nico: I think these are the statues of the Chozo.
Samus: That's right. The Chozo are the people that raised me and taught me their skills and moves.
Me: Wow.
We arrived in the lair of Ridley and we saw glowing eyes and it was RIDLEY!
Me: Time for round 2!
Acid Man: We got this.
Reflector: Lets do it!
Acid Man fired globs of acid and Reflector fired his shutter gun.
Acid Man and Reflector: ACIDIC SHUTTER BURST!
The blasts hit Ridley and he exploded all over!
KRABBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!
Ridley exploded and he was destroyed.
Me: Yeah! That did it!
Samus: Way to go guys!
Me: Now we can go after Mother Brain.
We went back to the room of the Golden Statues and we saw the statues eyes fade and they turned grey which indicated that the creatures are dead. Then we saw the statue sink and go underwater and we went down to the machine part of the planet. We were in Tourian.
Tourian (ツーリアン Tsūrian) was the main headquarters and research facility of the Space Pirate fortress on planet Zebes, and was home to the Zebesian Command Center, which housed the heart of the Pirates' Zebes operations and boss in all three Zebes-based Metroid games: Mother Brain. Tourian was composed almost entirely of metal materials and hardware, with corridors formed through alloy pipework. Pools of lava filled certain rooms of the area. Artificial lifeforms and constructs, such as Rinkas, Zebetites, along with Cannons, provided defense and security for both Mother Brain and presumably her Pirate forces. Hordes of Metroids were also present; it is here where they are researched, grown and multiplied through exposure to beta radiation.
The first Tourian was originally built by the Chozo, with modifications and additions being made to it by the Space Pirates after the former abandoned Zebes and/or were exterminated by the latter. Surprisingly, while this was indeed the main HQ of the Pirates, there were none of the marauding race to be seen in the original Metroid. This is later explained by Metroid: Zero Mission; when Samus first enters Tourian, a cutscene shows a Metroid outbreak has occurred, killing all Pirate personnel; in-game, many corpses of Zebesians can be seen throughout Tourian.
After the defeat of Mother Brain, a Time Bomb incinerates the facility and reduces it to ruins, causing an acid waste to leak afterwards, which can be witnessed in Zero Mission if Samus returns after obtaining the Fully Powered Suit. It is unknown what the substance is or how it appeared, but it is harmful even with the protection of the Gravity Suit. It is most likely some sort of waste from the now inactive power systems in the destroyed area. This same substance is present onboard Sector 1 (SRX) of the BSL station, in the Tourian-like area before fighting Neo-Ridley. The green liquid is nowhere to be seen in Super Metroid. However, the rebuilt Tourian has two magma-like substances that also ignore the Gravity Suit's protection.
Most of the facility is curiously in perfect condition: only the room just before the Zebesian Command Center, the chamber itself, and the escape shaft are damaged. This is odd considering that the explosion of the base was large enough to be witnessed from space. The Craterian rocky cave right outside of Tourian, despite emitting smoke during the countdown, hardly shows any sign of damage by the explosion. Even the elevator connecting Crateria and Tourian seems to be fully operational, despite being at the epicenter of the explosion.
Second Tourian
Early on during her second mission to Zebes in Super Metroid, Samus travelled through the ruins of the original Tourian from her Zero Mission, which became integrated into the Crateria region. However only the Zebesian Command Center and the escape shaft are present; all other rooms are missing, possibly due to Pirate reconstruction. The mission ultimately leads to a second, newly constructed Tourian found in a different location. Unlike the original, this headquarters was completely built by Space Pirates and Kihunters during the events of the Prime series. In the rebuilt base, Metroids are once again the main threat leading up the path to the resurrected Mother Brain, but whether they broke loose again or were intentionally released this time is unknown. Space Pirates populate the sections found behind Mother Brain's command post.
The reconstructed Tourian has several rooms filled with two different substances resembling lava/magma. The first substance, located in the rooms prior to Mother Brain, is concentrated and thick while the liquid found in the pirate leader's chamber is clear and fluid; the latter seems to be the same scalding-hot lava found in Ridley's Hideout. Both of these substances are functionally identical, and they are more harmful than the basic lava that used to fill the original Tourian, since they harm Samus even while wearing the Gravity Suit. The clear, fluid lava is seen flooding the Pirate HQ during the escape sequence.
While the first Tourian was devoid of any natural soil, plant-life or native animals, the second Tourian featured a nature zone (seemingly a simulation) where several wildlife of Zebes resided, along with the baby that Samus spared during her mission on SR388; however, more than half of these natives were devoured by the baby, leaving nothing but their dried husks. These rooms are also encrusted with a barnacle-like material, blocking Samus's path. Exposed scaffolding and circuit boards are prominent features in this location, indicating that construction is an ongoing process. With the defeat of the reborn Mother Brain, a self-destruct sequence is initiated again, only this time it is not solely for the main headquarters, but for the entirety of Zebes as well. Near the final moments of Super Metroid, Samus ascends the old Tourian's escape shaft once again. Ultimately, the rebuilt Tourian was eradicated, along with the entire planet by the end of the game.
Access
Tourian was the final area in both of Samus's missions to Zebes. Since it contained Mother Brain and served as the heart of the Pirate operations, it could never be accessed on a whim. The entrance to the two Tourians, located in Brinstar (in Metroid and Zero Mission) and Crateria (Super Metroid), were guarded by statuary connected to the life signs of the Space Pirate commanders Kraid and Ridley. In her second mission, Phantoon and Draygon were included with Kraid and Ridley in a set of Golden Statues that turned dull in color and sank into the ground after Samus killed each commander. In Metroid, Tourian could be accessed early through Sequence Breaking, by luring a Reo into the room from Corridor No. 2 and freezing it, then jumping off of it over the acid. In Super Metroid, a variation of the Door Jump can also allow her to enter Tourian without killing any Pirate commanders.
Me: Whoa. So this is Tourian.
Samus: This is it. It's the headquarters of Mother Brain.
Lincoln: Then we're going to destroy her.
Me: Yep.
We proceeded down and we arrived arrived in the room where Mother Brain is. We got passed her security and we saw MOTHER BRAIN!
Mother Brain (マザーブレイン Mazā Burein) (Referred to simply as Mother in the opening of Metroid: Other M) is a recurring antagonist and boss in the Metroid series. She is a cold and ill-tempered AI created by the Chozo, but turned against them when the Space Pirates invaded Zebes. After showing her intellectual might, Mother Brain became leader of the Pirates and greatly increased the efficiency of their attacks against the Galactic Federation over the years.
She was seen as the main antagonist in Metroid, Super Metroid, and Metroid: Zero Mission. She is also seen in a flashback during Metroid: Other M, and a copy of her consciousness was responsible for the events of that game as well.
Mother Brain's first body shares features of an exposed human brain but is red in color, gargantuan in size and with various mechanical components implanted onto her. These implants consist of metal barbs and conical spikes that protrude outward from the surface of the pulsing cerebrum, thick tubes or pipes situated near the cerebellum and on her underside is a mass of machinery with cables and wires, some of which connect directly into the structure below Mother Brain's body. It can be assumed that part of this wiring is connected to a form of life-support system, as it has been stated that the Pirate leader requires constant supply of Zebetites to remain alive.
Mother Brain's most distinguishing trait is the single large eye found below the cerebral hemispheres, though it is usually hidden beneath folds of flesh. Her eye's pupil can change to a round or vertical shape at will, similar to that of a Cat's. She is found within a sealed glass tank known as a Control Capsule that protects her from external attacks and other outside elements; this, coupled with the machinery underneath her, leaves her completely immobile.
This body is seen in Metroid: Zero Mission and is the one most often shown in recent media both within and outside the Metroid series.
Reconstructed body
Her body in Super Metroid remains mostly the same as her depiction in Zero Mission, with the first notable difference being the presence of an organic mouth beneath her single eye, complete with sharp teeth, tongue and spittle. Some changes are subtle: a slight reduction in body mass, the presence of an eyelid allowing her to blink and a new wrinkly, almost elderly orangeish-tan pigmentation. Furthermore, there are now wires that extend from the cerebrum to the topside of her capsule.
However, the most drastic addition is the giant body designed for mobile combat which connects to Mother Brain from underneath after a forced separation from her life-support system. It is broadly humanoid in shape, featuring a pair of arms and legs, as well as a sagging pot-belly and a skintight exoskeleton on her upper torso; when connected, Mother Brain's former body is found at the top of the new body's spiked neck where it behaves as the "head" and gains control of the metallic limbs. When standing in a bipedal posture, she becomes the second tallest creature on Zebes, surpassed only by Kraid. Overall, the combat form appears to be comprised of both machine and organic tissue, with vague similarities to a Torizo. When in use, Mother Brain begins to emit purple smoke from her jaws and/or from the circuitry underneath her.
Metroid: Other M features a flashback cutscene showing Mother Brain atop her mobile form. The combat body is slightly altered, with a slimmer, skeletal design and longer arms while Mother Brain herself appears smaller in comparison to it.
Mother Brain's very first appearance in the NES/Famicom Metroid game featured a "face" instead of the single eyeball that would be established in later games and its remake. Her visage had a pair of eyes, a nose-like protuberance and underneath were two tusks with a metal cable in-between that extended to the base below her, giving her a vague resemblance to an elephant. This version of Mother Brain became non-canon as early as Super Metroid in which the intro sequence featured a flashback of the final battle from the NES/Famicom game, with the tusks clearly absent.
Background and personality
Very little was known of Mother Brain, although it was believed that her origins were deeply connected with the Space Pirates: in-game texts, instruction manuals and players' guides described her as their leader, being the perpetrator of their malicious plans and controlling all operations on Zebes. In particular, she is stated to have come up with the idea of using the highly dangerous Metroids as bioweapons against galactic society. Her location in Tourian and the surrounding security emphasized her role of not only being the top ranking member of the marauding race but also as a vital piece of equipment due to her defeats triggering the destruction of the Pirate HQ.
Her personality was an even greater mystery, with only her immobile and mostly expressionless form giving, intentionally or not, the impression of a very cold disposition. Her behavior in Super Metroid indicated she was highly cunning; anticipating a repeat of her previous encounter with Samus, she lured her into a false sense of victory before emerging with the new mobile body, cornering and overwhelming her foe with massive firepower. Despite these calculated moves however, there was evidence of Mother Brain losing control during spontaneous bursts of emotions when, in a fit of rage, she foiled her own plans by destroying the last living Metroid after the creature saved Samus's life, as well as panic when Samus attacks her in retaliation by trying to use every attack in her disposal in an erratic manner.
In the Metroid manga
It was not until the release of the prequel manga that she would be revealed as a highly advanced, artificial intelligence created long ago by the benevolent Chozo, the same race that eventually raised the orphaned Samus Aran as their own. In fact, Samus spent most of her childhood under the watchful eye of Mother Brain when the latter was still an ally of her creators. Their relationship was filled with tension however: when the A.I met Samus, she used a flying monitor to observe her with such scrutiny that it frightened the young child and the former quickly disregarded her as a weak creature that would die from the harsh environment of Zebes. In Samus's adolescent years, Mother Brain occasionally provided assistance and advice during her physical training, albeit condescendingly and with arrogance. A particular event showed Mother Brain deliberately provoking Samus when the super-computer used Work Robots to incinerate several Iono Feria tamed by the orphan under the pretense that they were still dangerous. The A.I displayed concern as she watched Samus grow both in confidence and power, a sign that the former had an unknown agenda planned ahead.
Years after Samus left Zebes, Mother Brain betrayed the Chozo when the Space Pirates invaded the planet and helped them conquer it. Demonstrating her superiority complex, she spoke of her frustrations with her creators and claimed she had long surpassed them. She also calculated that taking control over the Pirates would allow her to bring order to the universe through violence and war, thus she designated herself as master and subsequently gave the role of Space Pirate commanders to Gray Voice, the only Chozo who shared her vision, and Ridley. Mother Brain tried to persuade Samus into becoming a commander through psychological manipulation, stating to have created her Power Suit and that the Chozo's true intention for raising the orphan was to turn her into a bioweapon. She went as far as claiming to be a "parent" to Samus.
was eventually attacked by Gray Voice when he revealed he was only cooperating to win her trust. During the battle, he called her a "defective" product and speculated that she developed fear, hatred and jealousy of other sentient life, in particular of Samus due to the orphan showing far more promise at successfully protecting the cosmos than the rogue A.I ever would. These statements left Mother Brain shaken to the point of affecting her otherwise calm demeanor; she had trouble making proper sentences and she desperately pleaded for Ridley's help when he arrived to rescue her. As Ridley gained the upper hand and mortally wounded Gray Voice however, Mother Brain was quick to sadistically mock her attacker and quipped that he was "just a bird who can't even fly". Samus escaped Mother Brain's clutches during these events and they would not confront each other again until the former's "Zero Mission" years later.
Mother Brain claims that she was following her directive per what the Chozo intended, it is heavily implied that she truly desired to have full control of the universe for its own sake. Furthermore, it comes to light that Mother Brain is in fact using the Space Pirates to further her own goals, referring to them and all other beings in existence as simple beasts. She intends on having her forces fight the Galactic Federation until both organizations become sufficiently crippled, at which point she will "cradle" the survivors to "sleep" and, after resetting the universe to zero, help them reach an intellectual level that she deems worthy of life. Thus, achieving her goal of bringing true order. She also plans on using an "evolved" form of the Metroid species to secure her dominion over all life.
Abilities
As a sapient, organic super-computer built by the advanced Chozo, Mother Brain is capable of performing an extremely wide range of complex operations and algorithms of unimaginable magnitude. Connected directly to Tourian, she oversees the planet's many technological functions and security systems, along with archiving vast amounts of information and historical data, making her an invaluable intellectual support to whomever she allies herself with. Due to her inability to move under normal circumstances, she resorts to using a small, floating spherical monitor in the manga to observe, accompany and converse with individuals outside of her physical body's location. This monitor is not her only means to observe the outside world however, and she likely can see through any type of surveillance tech connected to the vast system on Zebes. This amount of control, coupled with her self-awareness and high intelligence, is potentially what led to Mother Brain going rogue.
Several sources in past media imply that Mother Brain can influence/control her Pirate forces and wildlife with telepathy. This would explain why a large portion of the native flora and fauna on Zebes are highly aggressive toward Samus in the games, as the Pirate leader is directing them against her. Indeed, the manga has Samus directly accuse the A.I of this act. A cutscene in Zero Mission shows Mother Brain observing Samus in a moving elevator seemingly with no surveillance camera inside, potentially hinting at the former using her telepathy to see across vast distances.
The Metroid species are seemingly one of the few organisms that are immune to Mother Brain's telepathy. Events in Zero Mission and Super Metroid show the titular creatures attacking Space Pirates, including Mother Brain herself. The Metroid Prime series provide further proof with logbook entries stating that the Pirates have yet to develop any method of making their Metroid specimens obey orders. Curiously, Samus claims in Other M that the Pirate leader is the only thing that can control them; despite her statement, the same game shows all Metroids within the BOTTLE SHIP are still being kept in containment (with the exception of a single infant) despite a copy of Mother Brain being present onboard, which implies they are still an uncontrollable threat.
The first mention of Mother Brain's psionic abilities in media appeared in the non-canon Nintendo Comic System story: The Coming of a Hero, in which she is shown to display mental control over the Metroids. In the Super Metroid comic, the last Metroid rejected Mother Brain as it believed Samus was its mother, an act that shows her inability to control the deadly species.
Aside from her telepathy and the skills relating to her status as a super-computer, she can control weapon systems linked to her network (wired or wirelessly) such as the Cannons and the manga's Work Robots equipped with flamethrowers. Mother Brain gains additional weapons once she connects to her mobile body via the machinery on her underside: massive physical strength, blue ringed beams and bombs which are both expelled through her mouth, as well as an explosive barrage unleashed from her hands. Finally, the Pirate leader displays the ability to shoot a variety of beam projectiles out of her single eye, the most notable being the Brain blast and the devastating Laser Brain Attack, though only the former seems to be an innate weapon due to all others being exclusively used after the appearance of her mobile body.
Leadership
Mother Brain's role has been mostly vague in the Metroid series. There is debate as to whether she or Ridley is the supreme leader of the Space Pirates, with this question growing more confusing with the addition of High Command from the Metroid Prime games.
According to Super Metroid's manual, Metroid: Zero Mission's manual, and the official manga, Ridley is the general of the Space Pirates while Mother Brain is the biological computer which controls Zebes' defenses. However, Metroid's manual, Metroid Fusion's manual, Metroid: Zero Mission's game box, the Super Metroid Nintendo Power comic, and Super Metroid's in-game introduction refer to Mother Brain as the leader of the Space Pirates, with Metroid's manual saying that Ridley is controlled by Mother Brain. The manga later retcons this to rectify any confusion by stating that Mother Brain took over as one of the pirates' leaders, while keeping Ridley in his former position. Additionally, her referring to Ridley and the other Space Pirates as "simple beasts" might help explain the previous statement of Mother Brain controlling Ridley.
The Space Pirate Data in Metroid Prime refers to a High Command that commands the Space Pirates, which included ordering Ridley to be reconstructed. Whether or not Ridley is part of High Command is unclear; he may be the Pirate general, answering to High Command and/or Mother Brain. The group's presence has only been mentioned during the time of Mother Brain's inactivity and as such, High Command itself may or may not be subservient to her.
Media outside of the Metroid series often describe Ridley as the highest ranking member of the Space Pirates. Some of the latest Metroid games, such as Metroid: Other M (its instruction manual, official website and in-game) along with the prologue cutscene in Metroid: Samus Returns, state that Mother Brain is the true leader.
Me: Whoa!
Nico: That ugly brain is Mother Brain!?
Me: It's really ugly.
?: And that is just the beginning!
We saw a figure come out and it was TANGLEWEB from episode 5 of Ninja Steel!
Tangleweb was first seen about to "throw up" on Cosmo Royale, but he spits out a Kudabot tangled up in web, after being sent to earth, he goes to the high school to look for the Rangers, but to no avail, so he transform into a spider and goes inside the school, he gets encounterd by Monty and Victor Vincent, with Victor presiding to crush him on his foot, but even small Tangleweb was able to push back Victor's foot with ease, he grow in normal size, and Victor presseds to "fight" the monster by doing a laughable montage of Karate moves, but Tangleweb simply used his Webbing Breath to tie up both Victor and Monty, causing them to move aside to find the Rangers, in the park he find the Red, Blue, Pink and White Rangers, with a Buzzcam watching on, the four Rangers morph and were about to take on Tangleweb, but the spider monster then used his Vortex Mode to suck up the Rangers, he successfully manage to suck up the Blue, Pink and White Rangers into his mouth, he comes down and the Red Ranger was left to take on this monster alone, he had the upper hand at first and manage to land clean hits on the monster, but Tangleweb transform into his Vortex Mode again and is far stronger for the Red Ranger to hold on, meanwhile the Yellow Ranger (who was out changeling his cloths after the Rideing accident) comes in to witness the Red Ranger getting sucked into Tangleweb's mouth, before the Yellow Ranger can help out Tangleweb escapes to take a little "Cat Nap", he latter returns and encounters the Yellow Ranger, the Yellow Ranger went head first before Tanglewep transform into his Vortex Mode, he successfully manage to suck him up too, but the Yellow Ranger manages to overcome his fear of diving by using his new Mega Morph Cycle to drive out of Tangleweb's stomach backpack, and also manages to cause the monster to burp out the Red, Blue, Pink and White Rangers as well, this cause Tangleweb to get angry, but the Pink Ranger used the Ninja Water Attack to cause a fog to appear around the spider monster, the Red Ranger tryed to use the Arrow Blast, but that missed and causes Tangleweb to relized the Rangers' position, but it was actually a trick for the Yellow Ranger to do a sneak attack on the monster's back, when he turns around, he gets hit in the back again by the Blue and White Rangers' Blade Slash, with Tangleweb weakened, the Rangers transform their weapons for Hyper Mode and combined the Pink and White Rangers' Hyper Arrow Blast, the Yellow and Blue Rangers' Hyper Blade Slash and the Red Ranger's Hyper Claw Shred to form the Final Attack and destroy Tangleweb, he was later Gigantify and the Rangers summon the Ninja Steel Zords to take on Tangleweb, they had the upper hand at first, but things were heating up when Tangleweb used his Supporting Legs to push back Robo Red Zord and used his Webbing Breath on all of the Rangers' Zords, however, Mick gave the Red Ranger a new Zord, the Green Rumble Tusk Zord, with the new Zord, the Red Ranger was able to break free and ride on the Ruble Tusk Zord, Tangleweb attempted to use his Webbing Breath on the Zord, but the Ruble Tusk Zord easily sucked it up into it's trunk using Sucktion Mode (much to Tanglewebs shock) and blows it back at the monster, and allowing the Red Ranger to also free the other Rangers and their zord, but Tangleweb wasn't finish yet, so the Red Ranger transformed the Ruble Tusk Zord into it's Ninja Zord Mode, the Rumble Tusk Ninja Zord ModeZord had the upper hand thanks to it;s Ninja Cannon Blast and blasted Tangleweb's back legs, and then it combined with the Ninja Steel Megazord to form a new Megazord combination, the Rumble Tusk Ninja Steel Megazord, this Megazord makes a beat down on this Spider Monster and with the Rumble Tusk Ninja Steel Megazord Double Axe Final Attack, Tangleweb is destroyed for good.
Calvin Maxwell: Tangleweb!
Tangleweb: Long time no see rangers!
Me: I remember you! You were tangling everyone up in webbing.
Tangleweb: You watched us on TV huh?
Me: Never missed an episode.
Leni: (Freaks out!) SPIDER!
Leni went at Tangleweb and he fired webbing at her and tangled her up.
Leni: (tied up in Tangleweb's webbing) SPIDER!
Tangleweb: (webs her mouth shut) Oh, c'mon! I'm not that scary!
We also saw the Masters of Evil come out as well!
Me: I figured you all would be here Vypra.
Dark Spicer: (to Samus) Here's your warning: your ass is about to be kicked!
Samus: Not if I kick your fucking ass first.
Vypra: I figured that for this last challenge, we'd give you all an epic fight.
Me: Nice of you to help out.
Dark Spicer: I also have new aliens to show you.
Dark Spicer then turned into a new alien mutant. It was a Cerebrocrustacean mutant. It looked a lot like Ultimate Brainstorm. He was purple and he had a huge brain and a huge abnormally large right arm claw and he had spikes all over.
Geniusclaw: Allow me to introduce... Geniusclaw!
Shanan: A Mutant Cerebrocrustacean. Really impressive.
Stewie: And I thought Brainstorm's brain was big.
Geniusclaw: Tremble before my electrolocutive power, you inferior ignoramuses! (fires an energy bolt from his brain at Stewie)
Lincoln sent the blast back at him and it knocked him down.
Me: Nice one.
Dark Spicer: There's more.
Leni broke out of the webbing and Dark Spicer then turned into a Mutant Arachnichimp. He was a purple and blue creature and he had 8 arms and he had spines on his tail.
Widowchimp: Meet Widowchimp! (webs my mouth shut)
Shanan: A mutant Arachnichimp!
Leni: You monster! Spidermonkey was so cute!
Widowchimp: Well, this form isn't Spidermonkey, is it? (fires web at Kitten)
Kitten formed a shield and sent the web back. I pulled the web off of my mouth.
Me: You are gross. Now it's time to make you pay. By the way Dark Spicer, you got a call from Anita Bath.
Dark Spicer: Anita bath?
We laughed at what he said.
Bart: (Laughs)
Me: Better go take one then!
Nico: (Laughs) Good one!
Laney: And Vanitas, you have a friend calling. It's Mya Buttreeks.
Vanitas: Mya Buttreeks?
We laughed some more!
Lana: Better wash yourself off then!
Troy: Time to make this final challenge the epic one yet!
Megaforce Rangers: Legendary Ranger Mode: Operation Overdrive!
The Megaforce Rangers turned into the Operation Overdrive Rangers.
We went at them.
The Megaforce Rangers went at Tangleweb and blasted him all over with powerful blasts and their weapons and Tangleweb fell over and exploded.
KRABBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!
Tangleweb was dead.
Luan fired light blasts at Vypra and they hit her all over and burned her in fiery explosions and Spiderman tied up Vanitas and Edzilla punched Number 7 all over the place and Iron Boy blasted Zs'Skayr all over the place with Repulsor blasts and Eddy blasted Dark Spicer all over with his blaster and Tara sent earth blasts at Waffle Woman and smashed her all over. We knocked them all over the place. We then set our sights on Mother Brain!
Me: Time to pull your plug Mother Brain!
Hook: With pleasure! CYBER KEY POWER!
The Earth Cyber Planet Key went into his back and enhanced his rocket launcher 100-fold.
Poison Ivy: Time for some flower power! EARTH CYBER KEY POWER!
The Earth Cyber Planet Key went into her right arm device and enhanced her plant powers 100-fold.
Hook and Poison Ivy: LEAF MISSILE FIRESTORM!
Poison Ivy and Hook fired missiles and Leaves and they smashed the glass case of Mother Brain and destroyed its machines. Leaving it on the ground.
But then Mother Brain rose up in a whole new body and it was terrifying!
Me: Whoa! How scary!
Samus: Really scary!
Me: Lets get her!
I punched Mother Brain in the face and kicked her in the mouth and knocked out some of her ugly teeth and Nico fired energy blasts and they hit her all over and exploded with incredible power. Carol fired blasts of atomic energy and the blasts hit her all over and exploded with incredible power!
Arkayna: Feel the Dragon!
Dana: And the ice!
Arkayna fired a powerful energy blast and Dana fired a massive ice blast.
Arkayna and Dana: SUBZERO DRAGON FREEZE!
The blasts combined and turned into an ice dragon and it slammed into Mother Brain and froze its legs.
Luna: Feel this song you ugly dude! METAL STYLE NINJA ART: FIELDS OF VERDUN!
Luna floated into the air and a steel mill formed behind her and she sang the song Fields of Verdun by Sabaton.
As the drum roll started on that day
Heard a hundred miles away
A million shells were fired
And the green fields turned to grey
The bombardment lasted all day long
Yet the forts were standing strong
Heavily defended
Now the trap's been sprung and the battle has begun
Descend into darkness
303 days below the sun
Fields of Verdun, and the battle has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one under the gun
Thy will be done (thy will be done), and the judgement has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one, fields of Verdun
Though a million shells have scarred the land
No one has the upper hand
From the ground above to trenches
Where the soldiers make their stand
As the trenches slowly turn to mud
And then quickly start to flood
Death awaits in every corner
As they die in the mud, fill the trenches with blood
Descend into darkness
303 days below the sun
Fields of Verdun, and the battle has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one under the gun
Thy will be done (thy will be done), and the judgement has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one, fields of Verdun
Fields of execution turned to wasteland from the grass
Thou shalt go no further it was said, "They shall not pass!"
The spirit of resistance and the madness of the war
So go ahead, face the lead, join the dead
Though you die where you lie, never asking why
Descend into darkness
303 days below the sun
Fields of Verdun, and the battle has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one under the gun
Thy will be done (thy will be done), and the judgement has begun
Nowhere to run, father and son
Fall one by one, fields of Verdun
Waves of molten steel fired and they turned into the army of the Battle of Verdun from World War I in 1916 and the soldiers blasted, slashed and burned Mother Brain all over the place.
Me: Whoa! That was awesome!
Jessie K.: Wow! That was the army from the Battle of Verdun in 1916 during World War I.
Lincoln: Wow! Really awesome!
Nico: I didn't know that happened.
Hunter: (German Accent) Ja. Really amazing battle in our history. Very dangerous too.
Nemo: That is so cool!
Axel Adell: It sure is.
Clyde: Lets see how she likes this one! DECAY STYLE NINJA ART: ATTACK OF THE DEAD MEN!
Clyde rose into the air and a graveyard appeared behind him as he sang Attack of The Dead Men by Sabaton.
Turmoil at the front
Wilhelms forces on the hunt
There's a thunder in the east
It's an attack of the deceased
They've been facing poison gas
7,000 charge en masse
Turn the tide of the attack
And force the enemy to turn back
And that's when the dead men are marching again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
Two combatants spar
Hindenburg against the Tsar
Move in 12 battalions large
Into a Russian counter-charge
They'll be fighting for their lives
As their enemy revives
Russians won't surrender, no
Striking fear into their foe
And that's when the dead men are marching again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
And that's when the dead men are marching again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again
Die again
Osowiec then and again
Attack of the dead, hundred men
Facing the lead once again
Hundred men
Charge again

That's when the dead men are marching again and again
That's when the dead march again
Waves of energy fired and they turned into the soldiers from the Battle of The Osowiec Fortress in 1915 during World War I. They slashed, blasted and destroyed Mother Brain's legs.
Me: Whoa! Way to go Clyde!
Jessie K.: Wow! That was the army from the Battle of The Osowiec Fortress in 1915.
Hunter: Ja. Very big battle back then.
Laney: I didn't know that happened back then.
Lana: Really cool!
Axel Adell: Really amazing parts of history.
Ben: Lets see how Mother Brain likes this predator!
Ben turned into a new predator. It was BUGLIZARD! Buglizards have a white, black, and red color scheme. They have a black head, which dons a white patch on each side. Located on these, they have four red eyes, two on each side. They have sharp teeth and the gums protrude in their lower jaw and they have a row of red spikes running down their back, which also has a black stripe. They have four legs and black feet, each ending in 3 red claws and a red marked tail tip.
Ben: BUGLIZARD!
Me: Whoa! That is a scary one.
Shanan: Whoa! That is a Lepidopterran Arthromodo Dragon! They are Stinkfly's natural predator.
Nico: Whoa! That is a scary predator.
Riley: But really cool!
Buglizard: Check this out.
He created a huge cloud of fog and smashed Mother Brain's head in with his tail.
Edzilla: ED SMASH UGLY BRAIN!
Ed punched Mother Brain with devastating force and it knocked her down.
Ben then turned into a new Ultimate Alien and it was ULTIMATE SHOCK ROCK! Ultimate Shock Rock is taller and much spikier than his non-evolved counterpart. His head and crest are more ornate now, and there are more, bigger, spikes across his body. His energy is now bright pink and his rock is brown, with the green moss-like pattern now being a rust orange. The Ultimatrix symbol is in the middle of his chest. His arms have grid-like patterns in the rock with symbols engraved into them, which are explained further below.
Ben: ULTIMATE SHOCK ROCK!
Me: Whoa! An Evolved Fulmini!
Shanan: Whoa! This is amazing! I've never seen this alien before. Really awesome!
Nico: Awesome!
Ultimate Shock Rock: Watch this.
He fired a massive blast of lightning and electrocuted Mother Brain all over with incredible power and it was so strong and powerful!
Me: Time for some Final Smash power!
Samus: You got it! Mother Brain, Time for you to go. ZERO LASER!
Samus fired a massive blue laser blast from her arm cannon and it slammed into Mother Brain and exploded with incredible power!
KRABBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Nico: Whoa! That was awesome!
Lincoln: Just like in the game! Awesome!
Lily: Yeah!
Qin: So awesome!
Me: Yeah!
Janeen: I have 5 Final Smashes.
Me: Wow! This is gonna be awesome!
Janeen: Yep. Here's the first one. Starting with Mom's Power Beam. POWER MISSILE POWERBLAST!
Janeen glowed yellow and fired a powerful blast of energy and it slammed into Mother Brain and exploded with incredible power!
KRABBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMM!
Nico: Wow!
Lincoln: That was awesome!
Janeen: That was number 1. Here's Final Smash number 2. ICESPREADER MISSILE MEGA FREEZE!
Janeen glowed aqua blue and she fired a powerful barrage of ice blast and they slammed into Mother Brain and Froze her solid.
Luan: That is what I call Getting Cold Feet! (Laughs) Get it?
We all laughed at Luan's joke.
Me: Good one Luan!
Eddy: (Laughs) Good one!
Janeen: Here's number 3. PLASMA FIRESTORM FLAMETHROWER!
Janeen glowed red and fired a powerful blast of fire plasma and fire and it slammed into Mother Brain and exploded with incredible power!
KRABBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Me: Whoa! That was hot!
Nico: Wow! What power!
Lola: Really awesome!
Janeen: Here's final smash number 4. LIGHTNING WAVE ELECTROCUTIONER!
Janeen fired a massive purple lightning blast and it slammed into Mother Brain and electrocuted her all over!
Me: Wow! What power!
Lincoln: That was incredible Janeen!
Earth: I'll say.
Janeen: Now for the grand finale. When I destroyed Dark Samus, I acquired her Final Smash and made it my own.
Samus: This is gonna be interesting.
Janeen: Yeah. My greatest enemies powers are now part of my own. This is the end of Mother Brain. PHAZON LASER!
Janeen fired a massive dark blue energy laser of incredible power and it slammed into Mother Brain and exploded with incredible power!
KRABBBBBBBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
When the explosion cleared, all that was left of Mother Brain was its head and it disintegrated into ashes.
Me: We did it!
But then suddenly we felt an earthquake and the alarms went off!
Me: Uh oh!
Samus: Guys, we need to get off this planet before it blows!
Me: The whole planet's going to explode!?
Nico: We have to get out of here!
Vypra: You're not leaving us here!
Me: No way are we forgetting you guys.
We ran fast and got back to the ship and left the planet and we watched as the entire planet of Zebes explode!
KRABBBBBBBBOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!
We got out of there just in time. We saw that there was nothing left of the planet Zebes but a massive cloud of space dust.
Me: Whoa! That was a close one.
Lily: That was a REAL close one.
Samus: It sure was.
Chris McLean: Team Interstellar Retribution wins the money!
We cheered wildly!
Crystal McLean: Way to go guys!
Nico: We won!
Lincoln: This was so awesome!
We then saw a figure come out and it was Principal Skinner!
Me: Principal Skinner!
Skinner: I'm just as shocked as...
Bart pulled down his pants and pantsed him!
We laughed at him!
Edna Krabappel punched him in the face and knocked him out.
Me: Nice shot Edna.
Edna Krabappel: Thanks J.D. He deserved it. Ha!
Josee: No! IT'S NOT FAIR! WE DESERVE THAT MONEY!
Jacque: WE WERE SUPPOSE TO WIN IT!
Me: Shut your traps!
William punched Jacques in the face and Maria punched Josee in the face. Zoey punched Anne Maria in the face, Mike punched Freak Ezekiel and Sammy punched Max and they knocked them out.
We put them in the brig.
Janeen: Vypra, how about you and your group stay with us until we take Billy McLean down?
Vypra: (smiles) I like that idea. (to her group) What about you guys?
They all agreed.
Me: This is gonna be awesome! Now the series is almost done. But we have one more loose end to tie up: Bringing Justice to Billy McLean. Get ready Billy, Team Loud Phoenix Storm is coming for you.
My eyes glowed red with righteous justice.
Me: Set course for home.
We went back to Earth.
We arrived back on Earth and the Aftermath Special wasn't until next week. I called a press conference in Washington D.C. and revealed everything about what happened in Springfield and the fact that Jebediah Springfield was a fraud and a sham and more. I also revealed the full extent of Springfield's corruption to the entire country and everyone was absolutely horrified! Within minutes, the town of Springfield, Oregon was called the most hated town ever and everyone was glad that it was destroyed. Mayor Quimby, Snake Jailbird, Mr. Burns, The Springfield Mafia, Jimbo, Dolph, Kearney, Rich Texan, Seymour Skinner and Comic Book Guy were now the countries most wanted fugitives and a massive bounty was put on their heads. Fiona got Snake Jailbird as her arch nemesis and Dana now has Principal Skinner as her Arch Nemesis.
Samus: (To the viewers) This was an awesome adventure into the Great Unknown. Get ready to see us put the kibosh on Billy McLean.
It was gonna be an awesome finale.
Part 8 complete.
Super Metroid and the entire Metroid series of Nintendo has always been one of my favorite game series ever since I was a little kid. I wouldn't stop playing them and never will. It's so awesome! NicoChan11 gave me the ideas for this. Thanks man. Next up is the grand finale of the Total Drama Galaxy Saga. We're going to expose Billy McLean's evil crimes to the entire world and make him pay for every one of his crimes. Get ready for justice to be brought to Billy McLean.
See you all tomorrow.
