Usually Dee and Ryo worked the same shift, but not always. Work was shorthanded at present with several of the precinct's detectives trying to use up vacation time, so today had been Ryo's turn for a day off while Dee worked.

Since days off were less fun on his own, Ryo he'd given their apartment a thorough clean, done the laundry and ironing, and cooked a delicious meal to make up for Dee having to work. He came out of the kitchen when he heard the door open.

"Hi, babe!" Dee grinned, shrugging out of his jacket, but then his smile faded into a look of annoyance. "Idiot!"

Ryo frowned. "Excuse me?"

"Not you, babe; me. I meant to pick up the dry cleanin' on my way home, had to pass right by the cleaners, and I totally spaced. Sorry."

Breaking into a smile, Ryo leaned in for a kiss. "It's fine. You'd have been wasting your time anyway, because I already collected our suits when I went to pick up something for dinner."

"You did?" Dee's grin returned full force. "Hey, maybe I'm telepathic or somethin' and that's why I didn't stop!"

"No," Ryo teased. "You're just an idiot."
