Despite his reputation for being a bit of an airhead, Ryo is always organised, efficient, tidy, and alert. He arrives at work either right on time, or more often early, ready for the day ahead. Anyone who's ever met him knows him to be reliable, dependable, observant, authoritative, disciplined, all the things a detective working serious crimes needs to be. Dee can't help but admire his partner. When it's time to work, he's ready to give his all.
First thing in the morning though, it's a whole other story. Befuddled, bleary-eyed, his hair adorably mussed and sticking out in all directions, he fumbles for the alarm clock on the nightstand, trying to turn it off, but only succeeds in knocking it over.
"Why's it morning?" he grumbles as he all but falls off the bed, taking half the covers with him, and stands the alarm clock back up again. It's still ringing, and he throws a half-hearted glare at it. "Shut up." Naturally it doesn't so he pokes at it until he finds the right button, then collapses on the edge of the bed, yawning, and listing to one side as he tries to keep his eyes open. "I hate mornings. It's still night out."
On the other side of the bed, Dee grins to himself. He'd always thought he was bad at mornings, but Ryo is worse. A shower and coffee will fix him right up, but first he has to actually summon the energy to make the long walk to the bathroom, and it's clear he wishes the bedroom door was a lot closer than it is.
Finally, since the bathroom isn't conveniently coming to him, Ryo stumbles to his feet, the covers following him. He frowns at them, bends to pick them up, almost falling over, throws them back on the bed and starts rummaging through them, looking for his bathrobe, which in hanging on the back of the bedroom door, where he always leaves it.
Taking pity on his lover, Dee slides off the bed, fetches it, and holds it out.
"Here ya go."
"Thanks." Ryo puts his right arm through the left armhole, looks at it, confused, then pulls it out and tries again. He squints at Dee. "Where'd you come from?"
"The bed. I stayed over, remember?"
"Oh. Right. I'm going to shower."
Dee watches him bumble towards the door.
Morning Ryo is adorable.
