Stakeouts with JJ weren't fun at the best of times, but this one just got a helluva lot worse. Sipping his coffee, Dee recoiled; it was way too sweet. "How much sugar did ya put in this?"
"Only what I put in mine, four spoons."
"Four?!"
"That's how I always take my coffee. Drake likes it."
"In case ya haven't noticed, I'm not Drake. I only have a half spoonful; this is undrinkable! I can feel my teeth rottin' just lookin' at it."
"Half a spoonful?" JJ stared at Dee, aghast. "Although I suppose that does explain a few things."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
"Maybe if you used more sugar, you'd be sweeter to the people around you."
"I'm already sweet enough!" Dee scowled at JJ.
"You could stand to be sweeter."
"Says you."
"You're such a grouchy pants." JJ pouted.
"Only around you." Dee tried another sip, pulled a disgusted face, and tipped his coffee out the car window. "If we haveta do this again tomorrow night, I'm bringin' my own coffee, and you're not havin' any."
"You should've brought your own this time if you're going to be like that about it."
"Won't make that mistake again."
