At Lynn's Table we were having a party to commemorate the defeat and fall of the Armada and the Warstar.
Nico: I would like to make a toast to the defeat of the Armada!
Me: Here here!
We cheered and clinked our glasses.
Me: And also one year ago today we destroyed Thanos and the Black Order and saved the entire universe from total destruction.
May: That's right.
Ra's: I remember that.
Poromon was having Cajun Po Boys.
Horsea was having some Fruit.
Poliwag was having a bunch of burgers and Manaphy was having some hotdogs with ghost chili sauce.
Rainbow Dash: Who is Thanos?
Me: Oh that's right most of you don't know this. Thanos was known as the Mad Titan and he was going to destroy the entire universe with the power of the Infinity Stones.
I went over the entire history of Thanos and the members of the Black Order.
THANOS
Thanos is the main antagonist of the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing as the overarching antagonist of The Avengers, Guardians of the Galaxy, Avengers: Age of Ultron; and as the unseen overarching antagonist of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Ant-Man and the Wasp, and the fifth season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. He later served as the main antagonist of both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame, and as a posthumous antagonist in Spider-Man: Far From Home.
Thanos was born to A'Lars, a member of the Titans, a race of powerful, tall, god-like beings that evolved on the planet Titan. He was considered a freak by his fellow Titans due to a genetic mutation he bore. Despite this treatment, Thanos unconditionally loved his people and desperately sought to save Titan when the planet became threatened by the imminent catastrophic event of overpopulation. When society was facing collapse, Thanos suggested killing half the population of the planet to solve the problem, not in a prejudiced, but random, dispassionate, and fair to rich and poor alike. However, his idea was considered too drastic and was immediately dismissed by his people, resulting in Thanos being cast out as a madman by his people, which eventually earned him his reputation as "The Mad Titan". However, as Thanos predicted, Titan subsequently became devastated as well as nearly uninhabitable. Another result of this devastation was that the Titan species was on the verge of extinction. Thus, proving Thanos was right to an extent.
After the fall of Titan, Thanos, devastated by his inability to prevent the destruction of his people and possible resentment towards him for not listening to him, came to believe that the universe's vast population was consuming its finite resources, and if left unchecked, it eventually cause the destruction of the universe itself. Thus, to save other planets from Titan's fate, Thanos willingly became a world-conqueror, moving throughout the universe and destroying half of all life within the planets he conquered due to his ideology of balancing the universe. Thanos always made sure that the half of the population that was slaughtered was picked entirely at random so everyone would have a 50% chance of survival as even he felt that again certain groups was going too far. He earned a fearful reputation as a galactic warlord, due to his immense power and even ruling over a distinct region of space, and gaining control over the deadly armies of the Chitauri, the Outriders, and the Sakaaran Mercenaries, that he was widely considered among the most powerful, if not the most powerful, being in the universe, so greatly superior to others that even the thought of anyone defeating him in a fight was considered laughable. His cunning, ruthless nature stroked people's fear of him.
To build his strength, Thanos collected children from several races that he conquered. His oldest children were Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, and Proxima Midnight after slaughtering half of their respective races. The four warriors, completely faithful and devoted to Thanos' command, comprised the Black Order, although he felt no love for them but did appreciate their loyalty.
Among the species he culled was the Zehoberei, a species of green humanoids. During the slaughter, Thanos' attention was caught by a young Zehoberei named Gamora, who was fighting against one of his Chitauri soldiers. Thanos admired her fighting spirit and took her aside just before Chitauri army began the massacre. There, Thanos explained his beliefs using a switchblade knife by balancing it on his finger. He then gave it to Gamora and told her to do the same just as Ebony Maw ordered the Chitauri soldiers to open fire on a group of Zehobereis. Afterward, Thanos adopted Gamora as his daughter afterwards, training her to become the deadliest woman in the galaxy, and over the years he had grew to genuinely care about her as a result. With her being the only one who he truly cared for her among his children, even as she changed from being devoted to him to hating him, Thanos still believed she could become loyal to him again and inherit his throne, continuing to favor her above all others.
Also taken in was Nebula, a Luphomoid from another world he visited and had her and Gamora given cybernetic implants. Both Nebula and Gamora had a sibling rivalry but became somewhat attached, with Nebula saying "of all our siblings, I hated you the least", which could imply none of Thanos' other children showed Nebula any compassion. Despite how close they were, they were constantly driven apart by Thanos forcing them to compete against each other. Thanos once called Gamora "my favorite daughter" without considering Nebula being present at the moment. In their childhood, Thanos would force the two to battle each other, and Thanos would force a cybernetic enhancement on the loser. Each and every time, Nebula would lose and her body became less and less organic. At some point, he took command of the Chitauri species and used their leader The Other as an emissary.
During one particularly dangerous training session, Nebula and Gamora engaged each other in fierce combat in a competition to retrieve a data ingot for Ronan. The two female warriors were evenly matched and their bout leads them to a cliff side from which Gamora tossed Nebula over. Nebula was severely injured after the fall, and subsequently was forced to undergo cybernetic augmentations. As she was being repaired, Thanos approached her and openly expressed his disappointment over Nebula's actions, lecturing her on the limits of weakness, even going as far as to say "flesh itself is a weakness" and even mentions he should kill her for her failure.
Even with his best efforts, Thanos eventually realized that they are far too many lifeforms in the universe for him to balance. Deducing that the Infinity Stones, objects of immense power that held considerable dominance over the various forces that occupied the universe, could perhaps solve this issue permanently, Thanos made it his life's goal to gather them and use their combined power to erase half of all life in the universe immediately, and forged several alliances in order to locate them. He successfully located at least one of the stones; the Mind Stone, which he then hid inside a Scepter that was capable of manipulating minds.
Through many years of searching, Thanos discovered a lead on the Orb's (which contained the Power Stone) location, and sent his daughter Nebula and Gamora to the Cloud Tombs of Praxius under Korath's command. Nebula fell victim to a trap during the mission, and Thanos, not being one who tolerates failure, forbade Gamora from rescuing her. Nebula was eventually forced to amputate her own arm in order to escape. The Orb was never recovered, but Thanos decided to let the failure pass and carried on his search. Thanos also sent Gamora to find the Soul Stone, but reported back to him that her search had been unsuccessful, while in actuality Gamora had lied and she had found a map to the location of the Soul Stone and burned it to ashes. However, Thanos, being as perceptive as he is, easily saw through her lies. However, he allowed her to believe she had fooled him for the time being and decided to use this information in the future when it became useful to him. Thus, his conquest to perseve all life continued.
In the film, Thanos appears in a post-credits scene, where the Other tells Thanos that the Tesseract, the Space Stone, is on a small world, a human world. It also informs him that Loki is ready to lead the Chitauri, and so he was given the scepter with the Mind Stone to get the Tesseract. In a post-credits scene, Thanos is revealed to have been Loki's benefactor, having provided the Chitauri Army and the Mind Stone inside Loki's scepter used by Loki in his attempted invasion of Earth. When advised by the Other that opposing the Avengers would be "to court death", as the human race was not as weak as Loki claimed, Thanos glances at the camera and flashes an evil grin.
Thanos plays a more active role in the film, where he has enlisted the help of Ronan, Korath, and his daughters, Gamora and Nebula, to retrieve the Orb (Power Stone) for him. As it turns out, Gamora is not actually Thanos's daughter, since Thanos killed Gamora's family and snatched her as an infant to train her into the perfect assassin, having abused and tormented her in the process of doing so. This causes Gamora to betray Thanos, which leads to a chain of events that leads to Gamora finding her true calling as a protector of the universe and a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. It also results in other races hating her because of the actions she committed while under Thanos's rule.
When Ronan and Nebula are called to discuss Gamora's betrayal, Ronan kills The Other, who was speaking for Thanos, much to Nebula's surprise and concern. Thanos does not care about the death of the Other but is furious at Ronan for not only failing to obtain the Orb but also having alienated and cost him Gamora.
After berating Ronan and calling him "Boy", Thanos says he will destroy Xandar for Ronan if he brings him the Orb but promises to "bathe the star-ways with [his] blood" should he fail him. Nebula then easily persuaded the frightened Ronan to leave, as they knew too well he is no match for Thanos even without the Stones.
As stated before, Thanos promised Ronan that he will help Ronan destroy Xandar in exchange for Ronan's services. However, once Ronan gets a hold of the Orb, he feels he no longer needs Thanos help and also decides to betray him. Nebula also decides to betray Thanos out of jealousy over Thanos showing a preference for Gamora over her. Ronan and Nebula take Korath with them, while Thanos, unfazed by their threats of killing him, cut off contact with them in anger of their betrayal. Their actions would later finally convince him to stop relying solely on others to get the Stones.
In the end, Ronan and Korath are killed by the Guardians of the Galaxy (including Gamora), Nebula escapes and becomes a renegade villain independent of Thanos, and the Guardians give the Orb to the Nova Corps for safekeeping. Drax the Destroyer, who got revenge on Ronan for killing his family, decides to turn his attention to Thanos, as the latter was the one who sent Ronan to kill Drax's family to Gamora's dismay.
However, Thanos was still determined to find the six Infinity Stones and the Infinity Gauntlet so he can use them to conquer and rebalance the universe and this event would finally make him decide to come out to the open. He would eventfully encounter the Guardians for the first time several years later.
Thanos doesn't appear in the film, but is mentioned twice, once by Nebula (who angrily blames Gamora for the lifetime of pain and misery that she suffered at the hands of Thanos), and another by one of the Ravagers (led by Taserface) as he is aware that Nebula is Thanos' adoptive daughter. Eventually, after having a change of heart and helping the Guardians defeat Ego and the Sovereign, Nebula reconciles with Gamora but leaves her despite Gamora's pleas to become a Guardian and help them protect people from Thanos, intending to instead kill Thanos and prevent anyone else from falling under his control and experience the same suffering she had.
Thanos is indirectly mentioned numerous times in this film; the first time was when Tony said of a possibility that a powerful villain would destroy the Avengers. This was foreshadowed when Tony and Banner found Loki's sceptre and used it to bring life to a peacekeeping A.I. program, which later became known as the homicidal cyborg Ultron, much to both Tony and Banner's distraught.
Gaining sentience from the power of the Mind Stone after breaking the scepter and killing HYDRA leader Wolfgang von Strucker, Ultron decides to utilize the Mind Stone in his plot to destroy the Avengers and all of humanity with his own army of Ultron Sentinels. Tony also suffered a nightmare (thanks to the powers of Scarlet Witch) where he sees all the Avengers being murdered (presumably by Thanos) while more Leviathans are heading towards Earth, foreshadowing Thanos' plot to take over the universe with the Infinity Stones
Eventually, as Ultron and his Sentinels end up being destroyed by the Avengers at Sokovia while the Mind Stone ends up in the possession of Vision, Thor, from his vision in the River of Sights, finally realizes that someone (Thanos) is the one who has been manipulating the events throughout the years for the Infinity Stones, referring to Thanos's part in Loki's invasion and Ronan's quest to acquire the Orb, although what part Thanos played in the Dark Elves's attempt to use the Aether remains unknown but he either somehow woke them up or had no actual part in their awakening.
Thanos finally appeared in a mid-credits scene, where he is fed up with losing his resources and his henchmen failing him and betraying him in his failed attempts to acquire the Stones. Deciding to take matters into his own hand, Thanos arrived to Nidavellir and forced the Dwarf King Eitri to forge the Infinity Gauntlet in order to control the power of all the six Infinity Stones at once. After they had completed the Gauntlet, Thanos massacred them all, leaving only Eitri due to his help but he still cut off the Dwarf King's hands to prevent further weapon forging. Thanos then began to hunt for the Stones himself, believing himself to be capable of completing the task while smiling confidently to himself at the prospect of victory. He then took the Infinity Gauntlet from its hiding place, swearing to collect all of the six Infinity Stones (including the Mind Stone) by himself.
At some point off-screen, Thanos learned that the Power Stone was on Xandar and traveled to the planet promptly, effortlessly destroying and decimating the Nova Empire in process. Afterwards, Thanos retrieved the Power Stone after breaking the Orb and then inserted it into his Gauntlet before massacring half of the Xandarians as part of his quest to balance the universe.
Thanos doesn't appear nor is mentioned in the film. However, his giant ship (the Sanctuary II) is seen during a mid-credits scene as it was intercepting one of the Grandmaster's giant ships containing the Asgardians survivors following the deaths of Hela and the Berserker Army, as well as the destruction of Asgard, by the hands of Surtur. It can be implied that Thanos and his forces are going after the Space Stone (the Tesseract) that Loki saved from Ragnarok following Surtur's death.
In the film, Thanos is first seen when the Black Order massacred half of the Asgardians aboard Thor's ship. Thanos personally confronted and easily defeated and beat Thor half-to death, dragging him as he claimed to know what it was like to fail, but also stating one cannot stop destiny from arriving. Thanos then threatened to kill Thor in front of Loki if he did not hand him the Tesseract. Despite Thanos' threat, Loki seemed to be fine with Thor's death, which didn't faze Thanos, knowing fully well Loki was simply pretending to not care and quickly went through with his threat and began slowly killing Thor with the Power Stone, at which point Loki gave in and told Thanos to stop. Thor then informed Thanos that they did not have the Tesseract, claiming it was destroyed during the destruction of Asgard. However, this was disproven when Loki spawned the Tesseract in his hand, much to Thor's dismay and Thanos's glee.
After manifesting the Tesseract, Loki assured Thor that the sun would shine on them again. Thanos mocked this claim and told Loki his optimism was misplaced. Loki then distracted Thanos by saying he was not an Asgardian, which shocked Thanos due to Loki always claiming to be one in all their interactions, allowing Hulk to attack. Despite the Hulk's raw power, Thanos proved to be a much more skilled and stronger opponent and, after quickly composing himself, beated up the Hulk and then once again easily overpowered Thor after he futility attacked him with a piece of metal which was broken off from his head, allowing Maw to bind Thor. After Heimdall gave the Hulk a chance to escape by teleporting him to Earth, Thanos calmly told him he should not have done it and then executed him with Corvus Glaive's glaive, much to Thor's dismay.
As Thanos took off his armor, Ebony Maw then handed Thanos the Tesseract, which Thanos easily crushed in his hand, revealing the Space Stone, which Thanos inserted into the Gauntlet alongside the Power Stone. The Mad Titan then ordered the Black Order to retrieve the other stones on Earth. Loki offered to help, but Thanos mocked Loki's experience on Earth as being derived from his failures and knowing fully well Loki planned to assassinate him, when Loki offered his fidelity, the Mad Titan easily caught Loki's attack with the Space Stone. Thanos then disarmed Loki while sarcastically mocking Loki for choosing the word "undying", and rebuked that he should have chosen his words more wisely.
Thanos then grabbed Loki by the throat and lifted him in the air, slowly strangling the Frost Giant to death, while giving Thor a mocking look as he watched helplessly. Struggling to speak, Loki defiantly told Thanos that he would never be a god. Thanos was unfazed by Loki's words and calmly crushed Loki's neck as punishment for an attempt to kill him before exhaling a deep breath of having killed someone he considered disgusting, having always held disdain at Loki's selfish desires. Thanos then cruelly dropped Loki's corpse in front of a distraught Thor and taunted him by the fact Loki is truly dead and thus would not be resurrected. Using the Power Stone, Thanos then destroyed the Statesman and teleported his children and himself out of the exploding ship, leaving Thor and the dead Asgardian bodies to float in space.
With two of the Infinity Stones in his possession, Thanos sends the Black Order to Earth to collect the Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto) and the Mind Stone while he travels to Knowhere, where he is interrogating the Collector to get hold of the Reality Stone (the Aether). As the interrogation was underway, the Guardians of the Galaxy (sans Groot and Rocket) arrive to stop Thanos. The plan was going smoothly until Drax, due to having lost his wife Hovat and his daughter Kamaria at the hands of Thanos's army, almost compromised the Guardians' position due to his anger, prepared to attack Thanos head-on and be the one that kills him. Star-Lord attempted to convince him to wait, noting that Thanos did not have the Stone yet, thus they could still take it from him before he even noticed. His attempt to stop Drax was unsuccessful, however, with Drax ignoring Quill, prompting Mantis to force him to sleep in order to prevent him from giving their location away.
Unfortunately, the sound of Drax collapsing on the ground drew Thanos's attention anyway, and he violently threw the Collector into a tank before advancing towards the Guardians. Before Star-Lord could give combat instructions to Gamora and Mantis, Gamora swiftly attacked Thanos without waiting, engaging in melee combat with her sword Godslayer. However, while Thanos managed to effortlessly destroy Godslayer, Gamora quickly fatally stabbed him in the neck with the remains of Godslayer and then stabbed him very switchblade Thanos had offered her as a child. Thanos appeared to quickly bleed out from his injuries, astonishing the other Guardians and the Collector, who stood in disbelief. The Titan pleaded with Gamora, heartbroken that she would murder him with his own gift to her, before succumbing anticlimactically to his injuries. After Thanos' apparent "death", Gamora down sobbing when she thinks that she has killed her father; partly out of relief, partly out of grief, since she was raised by the Titan after all.
Nevertheless, Thanos's voice was still heard in spite of the Titan's apparent death. Thanos noted that Gamora's tears indicated she still cared for him to an extent. As the dead Titan and the surrounding Knowhere began to dissolve in a red mist, revealing a burning wasteland, Thanos's trickery was finally revealed: The Titan had already laid waste to Knowhere and retrieved the Reality Stone, conjuring an elaborate illusion using the Stone in order to lure in his adopted daughter, who he knew would come for him. Thanos soon appeared himself and commented that while reality was often disappointing, with the power of the Reality Stone, this no longer held true as reality would be his to command. Indeed, Thanos needed Gamora to disclose the location of the Soul Stone, being the only one who knew its whereabouts, telling her that he counted on their arrival.
Gamora immediately attempted to attack Thanos, but was quickly restrained by the massive Titan. Enraged and recovered from Mantis' sleep inducement, Drax attempted to attack Thanos, only for Thanos to simply smirk at Drax, knowing the latter wanted to avenge his family, and immediately incapacitate him with the Reality Stone, turning him into a statue that immediately crumbled. Terrified, Mantis inadvertently revealed herself, causing Thanos to turn his attention to her and transform her with the Stone as well, cutting her into still-conscious ribbons of flesh, before being confronted by Quill.
Thanos recognized Quill as Gamora's lover, who fruitlessly demanded that Thanos release Gamora, threatening to kill him with his blaster. However, Gamora reminded him of his promise to kill her if she was captured by Thanos, which they made shortly before their arrival. Reluctantly, Quill pointed his Quad Blaster at Gamora, though Thanos was skeptical that Quill would have the courage to follow through on his promise. Thanos then dared Quill to kill her by putting her up against the blaster point-blank. As they confessed their love to each other, Quill finally pulled the trigger. However, the Blaster only fired harmless bubbles - Thanos had preemptively transmuted the blaster's ammunition using the Stone, before transmuting the blaster itself into bubbles. Impressed with Quill for having the courage to do what was necessary, Thanos admitted to having a liking to Quill before he teleported himself and Gamora away with the Reality Stone, leaving Drax and Mantis to reconstitute themselves in the absence of the Reality Stone's effects.
Back on his Sanctuary, Thanos attempted to give Gamora food, believing that she was hungry, but Gamora angrily tossed it into his throne, saying bitterly that she always hated the throne, which Thanos simply retorted by saying he always hoped that she would sit on it anyway and succeed him. Having already heard Gamora's repeated confessions of hatred for his ship and her life, Thanos remained unfazed by all of Gamora's angry statements and simply said that he saved her when Gamora reminisced on how she was a child when Thanos took her.
Thanos then revealed to Gamora on how thanks to his decision to massacre of half the population of her planet, Zen-Whoberi is now prospered and simply dismissed the massacre as a small price to pay for salvation when Gamora angrily said it. Thanos then reminded Gamora on how she once had the same will as he had and that it was due to his training that she became the fiercest woman in the Galaxy and he was so confident in her abilities that he even send her to locate the Soul Stone, which she sarcastically apologized for failing to do. However, Thanos was unfazed and said that he is disappointed not because she did not find the location but she did and lied to him.
Thanos then took Gamora to reveal that Nebula has been captured due to her attempt to assassinate him. However, Thanos did not kill her and instead imprisoned her for interrogation, proceeding to torture her in front of Gamora. Even though Gamora desperately sought to conceal the location of the stone, Thanos revealed that he was aware that Gamora had lied to him by showing a video recording inside Nebula's system. Thanos went as far as to say that while Thanos turned her into the warrior she is now, he never taught her to lie and thus she was never a good liar. Nebula, when Thanos briefly pauses her torture, desperately tries to stop Gamora from telling him where the Soul Stone is. Thanos demanded the Stone's location again, but when Gamora stayed quite, tortured Nebula even further, long enough for Gamora to feel remorse for her pain. Finally giving in, Gamora told Thanos the stone was on Vormir.
Thanos and Gamora traveled to Vormir via a portal from the Space Stone and warned her that the stone better be recovered from where she last lost it or else Nebula would be killed. Thanos and Gamora then walked on top of the cliff and met a mysterious figure. The Stonekeeper would then talk to Thanos about retrieving the Soul Stone and how it extracts a terrible price but Thanos responded to his statement, that he was ultimately prepared for it. The Stonekeeper guided them to the top of a nearby cliff, as the Guardian of the Soul Stone explained to Thanos that obtaining the Stone required the sacrifice of a loved one. Upon hearing this, Gamora laughed in relief and mocked Thanos as a heartless and uncaring monster who loves nobody and nothing. Seeing Thanos has shed tears over this revelation, Gamora further mocked him for crying over his failure to obtain the Soul Stone, until the Stonekeeper informed her that his tears were not for him, but for her. Finally realizing that Thanos had genuinely grew to love Gamora, she was genuinely surprised for a moment and quickly and desperately attempted suicide using her knife, refusing to die for the Soul Stone, but Thanos used the Reality Stone to turn her knife into bubbles. Thanos lamented on how he had once ignored his destiny and cannot do it again before apologizing to Gamora as he tearfully hurled her off the cliff to her death.
As Gamora hit the ground, Thanos winced and closes his eyes when he clearly hears the sound of her hitting the stone, and her screams stop. Thanos sternly looked over the cliff and mourns over Gamora's death. A light burst out that briefly knocked Thanos out but once he awoke in the shallow waters of a river-like environment, he found the Soul Stone in his right hand and inserted it into his Infinity Gauntlet.
With four Infinity Stones in place, Thanos travels back to his homeworld Titan, where he intends to wait for Ebony Maw to deliver the Eye of Agamotto. However, he found Doctor Strange waiting for him and instantly deduced that Maw is dead due to Tony Stark (Iron Man) killing him to save Strange (the current holder of the Eye). Unfazed, Thanos simply asked Strange where did he think Maw brought him to and corrected Strange when he calmly guessed Titan as being his home, saying it was. Thanos then told him about the history of his planet while altering the reality around it using the Reality Stone to show it's former beauty. Thanos explained how he planned to commit painless and randomly fair genocide across the entire universe with the assistance of the Infinity Stones, after which he simply intended to rest and watch the sun rise on an "grateful universe".
As his conversation with Strange ended, Iron Man dropped a massive piece of debris on him, which only served to infuriate Thanos, who simply blasted away the rubble and transmuted it into an endless swarm of bats and hurled them at Iron Man, forcing him to flee. Spider-Man then used his webbing to blind Thanos, and Drax the Destroyer quickly slashed him with his Knives while Doctor Strange conjured a sword to engage Thanos in close combat, but Thanos swiftly composed himself and quickly began to overwhelm them, overtaking Drax through several stones and blowing away Doctor Strange upon bringing down his Eldritch Magic shield with a kick.
However, Star-Lord maneuvered through Thanos' blasts with help from Doctor Strange, who conjured platforms for him to jump on and shot him before planting an explosive on Thanos' back, which briefly stunned him. The Cloak of Levitation wrapped itself around the Infinity Gauntlet, preventing Thanos from using it. Using this moment to his advantage, Spider-Man attacked Thanos with several kicks, assisted by Doctor Strange's portals, , but it only served to irritate the Mad Titan, who swiftly pinned Spider-Man down and angrily called him an insect before flinging him back at Doctor Strange, knocking him to the ground. Iron Man caused a massive explosion next to Thanos, who remained once again uninjured and simply used the Infinity Gauntlet to absorb the entire explosion and blast the flames back at him, knocking him from the air. Thanos was once again attacked by Spider-Man but he easily broke out of his web and used it to pull Spider-Man towards him, striking him in the face.
Suddenly, a ship crashed upon Thanos but he easily survived and was attacked by Nebula. Coldly greeting his former adopted daughter, she warned him that he should have killed her when he had the chance, to which Thanos hatefully spits that it would have been "a waste of parts". He then swiftly overpowered her but the group took advantage of the time Nebula bought and managed to barely restrain Thanos. Doctor Strange restricted the gauntlet while Drax, Iron Man and Spider-Man restrained Thanos' arms and legs, Strange opened a portal for Mantis above Thanos to inflict sleep upon him using her powers. Star-Lord then mocked Thanos and demanded the location of Gamora, visibly causing him to become crest-fallen. Mantis then revealed that Thanos was in mourning, which led Drax to wonder what a "monster" like Thanos had to mourn. Nebula, however, understood in horror and sadness that he had sacrificed Gamora for the Soul Stone. Star-Lord then angrily confronted Thanos to tell her that Nebula was lying and Thanos emotionally said he had to kill her.
Infuriated beyond all reasoning, Star-Lord repeatedly hit Thanos with his blaster, hitting Mantis' hands in the process which caused her to lose her grip on Thanos. Freed from his trance and now truly furious upon being reminded of how he was forced to kill Gamora, which only served to make him more determined to complete his goal so as not to let her sacrifice be in vain, Thanos angrily and brutally attacked the group, putting the Guardians of the Galaxy to sleep with a single wild shockwave and then using the Space Stone to pull an entire moon from the sky. Thanos then furiously used the Power Stone to obliterate the entire moon, which he then hurled at his opponents in a hail of meteors.
While Iron Man dodged the meteors and Spider-Man went to save the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thanos ferociously dueled Doctor Strange upon cornering him, with Strange launching the first strike with fiery beams. Thanos leaped into the air to avoid them and retaliated with a blast of energy from the gauntlet. Strange summoned the Mirror Dimension to absorb it and then hurled it back at Thanos. Thanos responded by crushing it with the Power Stone, unable to be trapped inside thanks to the Reality Stone, and then threw the remnants back at Strange in the form of a destructive black hole with the Space Stone, which Strange swiftly transmuted into blue butterflies, which momentarily confused Thanos.
Doctor Strange than proceeded to make almost countless copies of himself and attempted to restrain Thanos with Eldritch Whips. However, Thanos dispelled the many replicas of Doctor Strange using the Soul and Power Stones in unison and sundered his Astral Form out of his body until he regained control. Thanos was able to pull him to his hand before he could react. Thanos admitted he was impressed by Strange's mastery over Magic but criticized him for not using his "greatest weapon". Thanos then grabbed and crushed the Eye of Agamotto and tossed him aside.
Before he could look for the Time Stone, Iron Man, being the final Avenger standing, used a trap to restrain Thanos' gauntlet hand, making him unable to use it's power. After a brief conversation in which Thanos revealed that he knew who Iron Man was and what drove him, which Stark expressed his profound grudge towards him, Thanos was attacked relentlessly by all of Iron Man's advanced technology but remained uninjured throughout the onslaught. Iron Man dashed forward and immediately struck Thanos again with two repulsor-powered battering rams, beating him back into a wall with enough force to break it. Recovering quickly, Thanos tore off Iron Man's helmet with his bare hand and punched him to the ground, although Stark reformed his helmet just in time to prevent his head from being knocked off. With Iron Man dazed from the devastating blow, Thanos quickly ripped the clamp from the Gauntlet, and blasted the downed Avenger with a concentrated beam from the Power Stone. Barely recovering, Iron Man managed to block and sidestep the blast by forming a shield.
Boosting towards Thanos in a renewed assault, Iron Man swiftly pinned the Gauntlet to the ground using a foot clamp before twisting around and pummeling the Titan's face with a repulsor-boosted hammer, with enough force to make him bleed. Unfazed, Thanos wiped the small amount of purple blood from his face and simply taunted the Avenger for giving so much labor and struggle only to shed a single drop of blood. Thanos then grinned and effortlessly ripped the Gauntlet free from Iron Man's hold, flipping the battered Avenger onto his back. Thanos began to brutally beat the downed Avenger with his fists, breaking off more and more of his armor with each strike. With Iron Man helpless to resist, Thanos lifted Iron Man up and followed with a point-blank blast with the Power Stone to the Avenger's chest, sending him flying and heavily damaging his armor.
Despite missing much of the upper half of his armor, Iron Man desperately persisted and attempted to hold off the advancing Thanos with his repulsors. Thanos merely blocked the blasts with the Infinity Gauntlet and began beating the Avenger once again, completely destroying his helmet. Stark attempted to defend himself with his bare hands, only for the massive Titan's overwhelmingly superior strength to force him to use both hands to barely block a blow from Thanos's single hand. As Thanos effortlessly blocked and firmly trapped his left hand, Stark then shifted the nanites from his left arm to his right arm to form a sword, and wildly stabbed at the Titan but Thanos easily caught the sword and ripped it from Stark's hand and ruthlessly stabbed him in the abdomen with it, quickly ending the fight in a no-contest victory.
Cradling the injured Stark's head in his hand, Thanos revealed his respect for the Avenger, genuinely impressed by his fearlessness and determination. Thanos took the time to tell the injured Stark that once his goals are complete half of humanity will still exist and he hopes they will remember him. Thanos rised the Gauntlet to finish off Stark only for Doctor Strange to intervene, offering the Time Stone in exchange for Stark's life, much to Stark's surprise and dismay. Thanos agreed but warned Doctor Strange to not double-cross him. Despite Stark's pleas to not give in, Doctor Strange revealed the Time Stone, having disguised it as a star in Titan's sky, and reluctantly surrendered it to Thanos. After taking the Stone, Thanos inserted it into the thumb slot of the Gauntlet, allowing him to control time itself now, leaving him with only one more to collect: the Mind Stone. Suddenly, Thanos was attacked by an awakened and enraged Star-Lord, who began to wildly fire at him, but Thanos remained unfazed and activated the Space Stone and vanished through a portal to Earth to retrieve the final stone.
Meanwhile, Corvus Glaive, Proxima Midnight and Cull Obsidian assemble a massive army of Outriders to attack Wakanda, being aware that the hero Vision has the Mind Stone lodged in his forehead and is currently located in Wakanda. This forces several Avengers and the Wakandan warriors to fight back against Thanos's army. At first, the heroes are being overwhelmed, but Thor, Rocket Raccoon and Groot arrived at the rescue with a new powerful weapon called Stormbreaker, allowing the Avengers and Wakandan warriors to finish off Glaive, Proxima, Obsidian and the Outriders to their defeat and deaths.
As unnatural winds began to blow, signalling Thanos' arrival, Captain America sensed the incoming threat, and ordered the other Avengers to converge on his position to assist. Suddenly, a portal opened, and Thanos himself stepped through it, finally arriving on Wakanda and Earth. With the Power, Space, Reality, Soul and Time Stones mounted on the Infinity Gauntlet and only the Mind Stone, his final objective, not installed inside it, Thanos calmly and confidently glared at the heroes that stood between him and his goal. As Banner recognized Thanos and confirmed his identity, Thanos began slowly advancing towards Vision to get the final Stone.
Steve Rogers rallied the Avengers to hold Thanos off for as long as they could while Scarlet Witch, was forced to mercy-kill Vision to prevent Thanos from obtaining the stone. Bruce Banner, in the Hulkbuster armor, made the first strike, leaping furiously at Thanos, only for the Titan to calmly use the Space Stone to phase through Banner. Banner tumbled helplessly through Thanos into a solid rock cliff, where he released Banner from the phase, imprisoning him in the rock. As Captain America dashed at Thanos, Thanos casually blasted Rogers aside with a shockwave from the Power Stone. Black Panther then leaped at Thanos, but the Titan merely grabbed him in mid-air by the throat before he brutally punched him into the ground. Falcon then attempted to provide air support, only for Thanos to block all of his attacks effortlessly and incapacitate him by disabling his wings with the Space Stone.
Using the Space Stone to deflect War Machine's shots, Thanos simply and effortlessly compacted the Avenger's armor telekinetically before flinging him aside. Bucky Barnes then arrived to reinforce but was simply blasted aside with the Power Stone. Black Widow and Okoye moved to replace Barnes, with the latter throwing her spear at Thanos' head. Thanos simply stopped the spear and blasted Okoye aside with the Power Stone and then used the Reality Stone to trap Black Widow in a cage of rock before she could react. Groot then attempted to restrain Thanos using his vines, but Thanos effortlessly snapped them apart with pure strength and continued advancing toward Vision and the Mind Stone.
As Maximoff continued to pool energy into the Stone, Thanos was engaged once again by Steve Rogers, who managed to dodge Thanos attacks and land multiple hits upon the Titan. Despite managing to briefly hold back the Infinity Gauntlet, Rogers was finally downed with a direct punch to the head, leaving only Scarlet Witch to defend Vision. Desperately, Maximoff held Thanos back with a beam of energy to stall him further, who continued to slowly advance while blocking the beam with the Space Stone. Despite continuing to advance forward, Thanos was too late - with a final confession of love to Maximoff, Vision peacefully shut his eyes as the Stone's structure began to destabilize, and finally shatter in a violent explosion, disintegrating itself and Vision completely, destroying the Mind Stone.
As Maximoff lay on the ground, heartbroken, Thanos only stared at the barren crater where Vision had once remained. However, despite seemingly failing his goals, Thanos not only remained calm, but comforted Maximoff, sympathizing with her pain at having to sacrifice what she loved most, having previously sacrificed his dearest daughter, Gamora, for the Soul Stone. Maximoff bitterly retorted, claiming he knew nothing of her pain, but Thanos replied that he had lost more than she could ever know just before noting that there was no time to mourn, Thanos activated the Time Stone, using its powers to reverse Vision's destruction, restoring the Mind Stone and rendering Maximoff's actions moot. Before she could stop him, Thanos easily knocked her aside, taking Vision by the throat and ripping the Mind Stone right from his forehead, killing him a second time. Flinging his lifeless corpse aside, Thanos inserted the Stone into the Gauntlet. As the Stones' combined energies flowed through his body, even causing a bit of pain to the Titan, Thanos admired the Gauntlet, having finally completed his quest.
In a last-minute attempt to finish off Thanos and avenge all those who Thanos had killed, Thor blasted Thanos into the ground with a powerful lightning blast from his new weapon, Stormbreaker. Regaining his footing but unaware of the true properties inside the axe, Thanos unleashed an energy blast on Thor from the Infinity Gauntlet, who then hurled it with all his electrical power and great strength at Thanos' torso. The power of the fully enchanted axe, having been created to counter the Gauntlet, quickly overwhelmed the beam, and Thanos could do nothing to stop Stormbreaker from burying itself deep in his chest. Landing in front of the severely injured Thanos, Thor proceeded to vengefully remind Thanos of his promise to kill him. Thor than forced Stormbreaker deeper into his chest, causing him further pain and injury to make sure Thanos suffered before his death. However, despite being grievously wounded and in severe pain, the wound was not enough to kill him and the Mad Titan, although struggling to speak at first, victoriously taunted Thor for not aiming for the head for an instantaneous kill. Thor, realizing his mistake too late, could do nothing but yell in horror as Thanos mustered the strength to simply snap his fingers anyway and activate the death wave. The Gauntlet was activated in a blinding flash of energy, altering the Universe on an unprecedented scale.
Nearly overwhelmed by the sheer amount of power required to use the Gauntlet's full power in his weakened state, Thanos briefly passed out, and to his great surprise, reawakened in a vast orange void, a world within the Soul Stone, without the Gauntlet or his fatal injury. Turning to find a lone Zen-Whoberi archway, Thanos found a reflection of a young Gamora's spirit standing alone underneath. Initially expecting Gamora to lash out at him, Thanos was surprised when Gamora calmly asked if he accomplished his mission and Thanos, preparing himself for the inevitable argument, resignedly acknowledged he had. Although horrified by the severe consequences of his victory, Thanos found that Gamora no longer had the drive to do so, having been resigned to being defeated and gently asked what his actions had cost. Thanos sadly replied that his actions cost him everything, as he had lost the only thing that mattered most to him, Gamora herself, to which Gamora sadly concurred by nodding at this answer.
Regaining consciousness, Thanos returned to his body in Wakanda, the Infinity Gauntlet and his left arm scorched and burned by the immense release of energy. Seeing no apparent change, Thor furiously questioned Thanos about what he had done, but Thanos, knowing that his goal was finally completed, merely smirked at Thor mockingly for how his selfish desire for revenge had cost him victory before teleporting away, leaving only a confused Thor and Stormbreaker falling to the ground, covered in Thanos' blood.
Quickly after Thanos vanished, half of all life in the universe slowly disintegrated into ashes: As Rogers questioned Thor as to Thanos' whereabouts, Bucky Barnes suddenly crumbled into dust in front of Rogers. M'Baku could only watch with horror as the Wakandan soldiers around him began to fade. Hidden on the ground in long grass, Falcon disintegrated as Rhodes called out to him, not realizing yet that his companion and friend was already gone. T'Challa, attempting to help Okoye up and encourage her to fight, fell into ashes before her eyes just as he attempted to help her up. Afterward, Rocket tearfully watched Groot fade away as he weakly called for his "father" to help him. Kneeling over Vision's lifeless body, Wanda Maximoff vanished into dust with a face of relief and peace on her face.
On Titan, in the aftermath of their defeat, the effects of the Gauntlet began to claim the lives of the battered Mantis, Drax, Star-Lord, Doctor Strange and Spider-Man, leaving Iron Man and Nebula as the only survivors on Titan. As the effects of Thanos' mass genocide took hold across the Universe, the remaining survivors could do nothing but stand in utter shock and defeat, unable to do anything but accept the reality of Thanos' victory.
Far away on an unknown distant planet, Thanos limped out of a farm with his wounds mostly healed, and his armor hung up on a nearby scarecrow. Finally at peace, he sat down and smiled to himself in relief, satisfied that he finally defeated the heroes and achieved his goal. As a call-back to what he said to Doctor Strange on Titan, Thanos calmly watched the sun rise upon what he saw as a grateful universe.
Thanos does not appear in the series, but he was mentioned in the Season 5 episode "The One Who Will Save Us All", where Graviton learned from the Kree about Thanos' plot to wipe out half of the universe. As such, Graviton suggests that they ally with the Avengers to fight against Thanos, but the Kree convinced him to obtain more Gravitonium in order to absorb it and increase his own powers.
Thanos does not appear nor he is mentioned in the film. However, during a mid-credits scene following the arrest of Sonny Burch and the curing of Ghost, it is revealed that Thanos' death wave has killed Hank Pym, along with his wife Janet van Dyne, and their daughter Hope (known as The Wasp), leaving them to be wiped away from existence. The Pym family's demise also caused Hope's partner Scott Lang (known as Ant-Man) to be left trapped in a Quantum Realm, much to his complete distraught.
Although not appearing in the movie, Thanos is mentioned scarcely. Following the defeat of the Supreme Intelligence and Starforce of the Kree Empire, Captain Marvel gave Nick Fury a modified pager in case he would have to send out distress calls to her as she would be busy helping Talos and his fellow Skrulls find a new home planet to live in. The pager would be activated 23 years later during the events of Infinity War, prompting Captain Marvel to head over to the New Avengers Facility, where she saw that the surviving Avengers, moping over their failure to defeat Thanos and deeming Thanos's actions as being a nightmare, had retrieved Fury's pager before demanding to know where Fury is. She later found out in horror that Fury activated his pager before he was dissolved to his death along with half of the universe's populace thanks to Thanos' death wave.
Three weeks after the cataclysmic events of Thanos's victory, a weakened and horribly scarred Thanos is first seen cooking up a stew in his hut before Captain Marvel, who had been recruited by the Avengers, smashed through the roof of his hut and restrained him, alongside the Hulkbuster and War Machine. As the weakened Thanos struggled against them, Thor quickly smashed through the hut and sliced Thanos' left arm off with Stormbreaker in order to free the Gauntlet. As Captain America and the rest of the Avengers came in, Rocket Raccoon goes to get the Infinity Stones from the Gauntlet, only to discover they are gone. Captain America interrogated the Mad Titan on the location of the stones, and Thanos reveals that once he fulfilled his goal to eradicate half of the universe, the Stones served no purpose beyond temptation. An angry Bruce Banner proceeded to assault Thanos out of rage for his murder of trillions.
Thanos taunted the Avengers by revealing that he had actually destroyed the Stones in case he would be tracked down so that his work wouldn't be reversed, which may explain the scars he received. He also reveals that he did it , so he wouldn't feel tempeted to use them again. Knowing that his work for the universe is done, Thanos proclaims that he is inevitable. The Avengers refused to believe this and War Machine suggests tearing down Thanos' hut to find the Stones, but Nebula (in spite of her hatred towards Thanos) stated that Thanos is never a liar of any sort despite his atrocities, implying that his statement of destroying the Stones has to be true. With his last words while knowing that he will die, Thanos confirmed this by thanking Nebula for pointing that out and admitting that he was wrong to treat her too harshly. With this horrible revelation revealed, a furious Thor decapitates Thanos with Stormbreaker, and a grieving Nebula took solace in Thanos' last words by closing his eyelids out of respect. The surviving Avengers then return back to Earth in shame, knowing now that even after killing Thanos, they have lost to him again as that they cannot reverse the death wave to bring back their loved ones.
For the next five years, the surviving populace is forced to live with the damage that Thanos caused, but are unable to move on due to being traumatized by the deaths of their loved ones. However, Ant-Man escapes from the Quantum Realm and meets up with the Avengers, stating that he got stuck there when the death wave happened and that it took five hours for him to escape instead of five years. The Avengers soon learned that they can use the energy from the Quantum Realm to create a time machine so that they can go back and get the Infinity Stones to reverse the massacre. To that end, the Avengers split away into traveling into different timelines: Hulk and Captain America managed to retrieve the Time and Mind Stones during the Chituari invasion of New York from 2012, Iron Man and Captain America retrieved the Space Stone and several Pym Particles from 1970 S.H.I.E.L.D HQ, Rocket and Thor retrieved Mjølnir and the Reality Stone from 2013 Asgard, and Romanoff sacrificed herself in 2014 Vormir to allow Barton to obtain the Soul Stone.
In the meantime, Nebula and War Machine managed to steal the Power Orb from 2014 Morag. However, while War Machine was able to return to the present, Nebula was unable to do so due to her cybernetic implants interfacing with those of her 2014 self, causing Nebula to be captured by the 2014 Thanos. Through this connection between Nebula and her 2014 self, the 2014 Thanos learns of his future self's success and death, as well as the Avengers' plot to reverse the death wave because of the surviving populace being unable to move on without their loved ones. Realizing now that no one will accept his ideals and philosophy of maintaining balance even if he would succeed on it, the 2014 Thanos decides to compensate this by changing his goal into destroying the entire universe and recreating it under his own image.
As such, the 2014 Thanos (who decided to treat Nebula better after hearing his Future's Self's confession), sends the 2014 Nebula in the original Nebula's place so that she can use the time machine to send him and his army to the present. Even when the Avengers finally utilized the Stones (combined with a new Infinity Gauntlet) to reverse Thanos' massacre while the original Nebula kills her 2014 self after being freed by the 2014 Gamora, the 2014 Thanos arrives with his army to attack the Avengers' headquarters.
Fully aware of the transgressions of what has happened and is about to happen, Thanos calmly awaits the arrival of the Avengers. As Iron Man, Captain America, and Thor approached the Mad Titan, the latter confronted them for being unable to move on without their loved ones and making his deeds so ungrateful to the universe. Declaring this as the last straw as he was already annoyed with them for stopping his invasion of Earth, Thanos announces his next plot of destroying the universe and rebuilding it with vast resources and life that will be forced to be grateful to him. When Captain America noted how the new universe would be built from blood, Thanos said it wouldn't matter because the Avengers won't live to tell them about, before engaging the three Avengers in a brutal battle.
During the ensuing fight, Thanos overwhelmed the three Avengers with his superior speed and power, and his immense skills with his massive double-ended sword. At one point, Thanos managed to knock Iron Man out of the fight by using his body to block an attack from Thor's hammer, Mjølnir, before facing Thor himself. Due to the God of Lightning being weakened from years of inactivity, Thanos easily overpowered Thor and brutally beat him down. Thor attempted to summon Stormbreaker to kill Thanos, but Thanos caught it before Thor could and attempted to cut Thor in half with the axe in revenge for his future self's death. Before Thanos could do so, Mjølnir is thrown at his back and knocks him down. The hammer flies back to its wielder, who is revealed to be Steve Rogers - who has proven himself worthy to wield the mystical hammer, much to Thor's delight.
Thanos kicked Thor to the ground and proceeded to battle Captain America, who was now armed with both Mjølnir and his shield. At first, Steve Rogers proves to be a match to Thanos (possibly because of his already superhuman strength being empowered), even being able to cast lightning at the Titan, but Thanos manages to dodge an attack from Captain America proceeds to slam the Avenger to the ground. Thanos then removes his helmet and attacks Rogers with his sword, managing to cut him across the leg. Gaining control, Thanos knocks Mjølnir out of his hands and then proceeds to break Rogers' shield with his double sword before pummeling the hero into the ground.
With the three Avengers defeated, Thanos expressed in his seething rage that he will personally enjoy razing Earth and wiping out all of its populace in a way that he had never done in his previous conquests. Thanos then summons his entire army, which emerges from his warship behind him. Despite being outnumbered and injured, Rogers rises from the ground and stood ready to face Thanos and his entire army alone until he suddenly receives a faint radio communication from Falcon, who tells him to look behind him.
Just then, a portal opened behind Rogers as Black Panther, Okoye, Shuri, and the Wakandan Army slowly arrived to the battlefield. Another portal from Titan opens to reveal Doctor Strange along with the Guardians of the Galaxy and Spider-Man. More portals began opening as the Asgardians, the Ravagers (including Howard the Duck) and the Masters of the Mystic Arts joined the Avengers' side. Pepper Potts, now donning a blue-and-silver armor, also appeared. After everyone forms up to face Thanos and his forces once and for all, all the allied teams charged at Thanos' forces as Thanos himself motioned his army to attack before joining the fight shortly after.
During the large battle, Thanos, during an attempt to retake the Iron Gauntlet from Black Panther, was confronted by the Scarlet Witch. The enraged woman, who remembered how Thanos murdered Vision, hatefully told him that he took everything from her. Thanos furiously responded by saying he didn't know who Scarlet Witch was, but she told him that he would and engaged him in battle. Despite initially gaining the upper hand on her, Wanda managed to overcome him, depriving of his double-edged sword and lifting him and using telekinesis to almost tear him apart. During the assault, Thanos furiously ordered a missile strike (though at the cost of losing much of his forces in the process). Though the airstrike was successful in keeping Scarlet Witch and the Avengers at bay, Captain Marvel arrived from space and destroyed the Sanctuary II as Thanos watched in surprise.
Shortly after, Ant-Man and Wasp attempted to return the Infinity Stones to the past using the Quantum Realm, but Thanos himself managed to halt their efforts and attempted to retake the Gauntlet in the ensuing chaos, before being attacked again by Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man. Despite their efforts, Thanos overpowered the three before successfully taking the Iron Gauntlet, but before he could wield it, Captain Marvel stopped him and engaged the Titan in a vicious fight. Thanos managed to toss her away before finally donning the Gauntlet, causing energy to surge throughout his body. Despite the pain, Thanos attempted to snap his fingers and destroy the universe, but Captain Marvel seized and forced open his hand, stopping him from doing so. Thanos attempted to headbutt Captain Marvel, but she didn't react at all to the attack. Slowly being overpowered, Thanos pulled the Power Stone from the Gauntlet and used it to violently blast Captain Marvel away with a punch, knocking her out of the fight.
Placing the Power Stone back in the Iron Gauntlet, Thanos was briefly halted by Iron Man, who tried to prevent him from using the Gauntlet, but Thanos violently knocks Iron Man aside and donned the Gauntlet back into his hand. Having defeated all the Avengers once again, Thanos (with an evil smile) taunted them of their failure by repeating his future self's words that he is inevitable before snapping his fingers with the Gauntlet, expecting for the entire universe to be destroyed and all of its populace to be extinguished by his own will.
However, this time, to Thanos' surprise, his snap has no effect at all as the Gauntlet is missing the Stones. He shortly discovers that Iron Man actually managed to remove the Stones from the Gauntlet and transfer them to his armor in case Thanos would get his hands on the Gauntlet. Iron Man taunted back at a shocked Thanos before sacrificing himself by snapping his fingers with the Stones, causing all the Black Order and their alien armies (except for Gamora from 2014 and Nebula) to disintegrate into dust at the cost of Iron Man's life with his human body being unable to sustain the power. Watching all of his massive armies fade away into dust, Thanos is left horrified that his goals for the universe have been undone and possibly losing his children. Realizing that there is nothing he can do to prevent his impending death, Thanos solemnly sits down among the devastated battlefield, gazing at the darkended sky, and accepting his fate in despair as he is wiped away from existence.
With Thanos and his forces finally dead at last, the Avengers are satisfied that they have finally defeated them for good. Following Iron Man's funeral, the Avengers return the Stones (and Mjølnir) back to their original places and timelines before going their separate ways, safe in the knowledge that the universe is now at peace.
Thanos' actions leave an enormous impact in the aftermath of his final defeat. As Earth begins to recover, Iron Man is revered for his sacrfice, and there is much speculation as to who will replace him as the world's next hero. The return of the Thanos' victims results in problems with identity documentation, as they returned five years after their deaths without having physically aged. Any high school student that was a victim of the Snap is subsequently forced to retake the entire school year, even if they had already completed midterms, including Peter Parker's class.
Thanos was an extremely powerful alien warlord who commanded three massive armies called the Chitauri, the Sakaarans and the Outriders, as well as a small group of fanatical followers known as the Black Order.
Thanos formed an alliance with Loki to invade Earth, and later forged a partnership with Ronan the Accuser to destroy Xandar - both in exchange for the deliverance of two powerful Infinity Stones, only for the pair to end up failing their tasks before they betrayed Thanos afterwards. Thanos was also indirectly responsible for the creation of Ultron as his supplying of the Mind Stone to Loki was what gave Ultron free will to rebel against humanity in the first place.
He later obtained all six Infinity stones, fought with the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy, and successfully wiped out half the life in the universe. His actions would ultimately be undone, however, after the Avengers successfully retrieved the Infinity Stones through time travel. Soon after, an alternate version of Thanos from the past, time traveled to the present in an effort to destroy the Avengers and erase the whole universe in order to create a new one, but was defeated and erased from existence once and for all before he could carry out that plan. However, even after his demise, Thanos' actions still haunted the Avengers.
Powers
Titan Physiology: As a mutated Titan, Thanos possess immeasurable levels of strength, reflexes, durability, regenerative healing, and endurance as well as near-immortality. He is frighteningly powerful, able to effortlessly intimidate, overpower, severely harm, and even potentially kill beings as powerful as Loki, who is almost on par with Thor, and Ronan The Accuser, who was among the strongest Kree, Thor at full power, and Hulk. He rules the Chitauri and Outrider army unchallenged. Korath has fearfully said he is the most powerful being in the universe, although Ronan was confident that he could kill Thanos with the power of the Orb. Nevertheless, Thanos displayed no sign of concern after Ronan threatened him. Gamora also blatantly told Nebula she doesn't know if killing Thanos is possible. Thanos was also shown to be fully confident in being capable of collectively harnessing the full power of all six Infinity Stones with the use of an Infinity Gauntlet, a feat that no other being has ever survived. This was proven correct when he was able to handle the use of all six after finally completing the Infinity Gauntlet.
Superhuman Longevity: Like all Titans, Thanos himself was also nearly immortal and had existed for a very long time. It had been confirmed that Thanes was roughly over one thousand years of age by the time Tony Stark decimated him with the power of the Infinity Stones during the Battle of Earth.
Superhuman Strength: Thanos holds incalculably extraordinary, godly levels of superhuman strength, to the point that he is capable of easily wielding all six Infinity Stones with the Infinity Gauntlet, a feat that no other being has survived, making him one of the strongest beings in existence, if not the strongest. Thanos could effortlessly break the highly durable containers of the Infinity Stones, as he casually crushed the Tesseract and later the Eye of Agamotto in a single hand, which was protected by an extremely powerful spell. He was also capable of effortlessly breaking out of Groot's vines and it took the combined efforts of Doctor Strange, Drax, Iron Man, Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Mantis to keep him restrained, and even then, he still showed great resistance. Upon waking up, Thanos was quickly able to break out of the restraints and regain control of the Infinity Gauntlet. He also was still casually able to clench the Infinity Gauntlet when restrained by countless Eldritch Whips by Doctor Strange's replicas. Thanos is so strong that beings of lesser but still higher superhuman strength and resilience pose no threat or challenge to him, such as Black Panther, Spider-Man, and Gamora, as Thanos proves by effortlessly stopping Black Panther's full charge with a single-handed choke hold and knock him out with a punch, overpowering Spider-Man with one hand casually and being able to effortlessly break out of his web and use it to pull him to Thanos, effortlessly restraining Gamora with a single hand and later throwing her off a cliff in Vormir with little effort. He also could overpower Iron Man in his nanotech Mark L Armor with little effort, with his strength being more than sufficient to easily tear apart the armor with his bare hands, and he was able to effortlessly break Iron Man's sword in half and then stab him with it. Even when Captain America used all his strength, which was vastly augmented by his determination, he was only just barely able to hold back Thanos' gauntlet hand and the Mad Titan proceeded to effortlessly knock the Super Soldier out with a single punch. Even beings of the highest levels of strength and resilience such as Hulk, Vision, and Thor do not pose much threat to Thanos, as Thanos effortlessly beat Hulk to a bloody pulp and Thor, with Thanos going as far as to threaten that he can easily crush Thor's head and kill him anytime he wants, and lifted Vision off the ground with one hand, who was powerless to break free, and quickly ripped the Mind Stone from Vision's extremely durable Vibranium forehead. Lacking the Infinity Gauntlet did not prevent the 2014 Thanos from being capable of overpowering Thor and Captain America in raw strength without much effort, as he was easily able to pummel Thor enough to cause him to severely bleed and bruised and steadily overwhelm him when he tried to use Stormbreaker to gut open his chest, with only Captain America's sudden mastery of Mjolnir preventing him from doing so and was firmly holding back Thor's attempts to stab him with Stormbreaker despite being electrocuted by the electricity surrounding the mighty axe and even with Mjolnir further enhancing Thor's strength and Captain America restraining him, he was still able to overpower their combined might eventually. He even broke Captain America's shield with mere brute strikes from his sword and could easily knock Mjolnir from Rogers's grasp with a single blow and lift and send him flying and before Captain America was able to use Mjolnir, Thanos rendered him near entirely powerless, easily badly incapacitating him with a single punch. Even Captain Marvel using all her cosmic power to augment her strength had to put it all to ensure Thanos could not close his fist and showed trouble overcoming him. The only time he was significantly injured was against the fully-empowered Thor wielding Stormbreaker, a weapon reputed to be the strongest of all of Asgard's weaponry, and this was while he was distracted, and even still, Thanos quickly regained control over the Infinity Gauntlet afterwards and was still strong enough to survive using it at the scale needed to wipe out half of the universe, although he did enter a catatonic state for a while due to performing such a feat while considerably injured. His strength also extends to his legs, as he was able to jump a tremendous distance to avoid Doctor Strange's rays with a single leap.
Superhuman Speed, Agility, and Reflexes: Thanos possesses incredulously swiftness and incredibly superhuman levels of speed, agility, and reflexes, making him fully capable of easily fighting and outpacing even the swiftest of enemies, including others of far smaller size and superhuman conditioning. He was able to easily dodge a few blows from Hulk, and then instantly struck him multiple times before Hulk had a chance to respond. Thanos also easily reacted to Loki's swift attempt to kill him, effortlessly choking Loki to death before the latter could react. While Thor managed to land a blow on Thanos after Thanos had just beaten Hulk, Thanos easily kicked the God of Thunder away before he could attack again. With just a single hand, Thanos was able to easily grab Gamora before she could strike him with Godslayer (which Thanos broke in the process), and was even able to react to the extremely agile Spider-Man's attacks, eventually getting a grip on him and pinning Spider-Man down. He was also able to effortlessly pummel Iron Man in hand-to-hand combat within seconds and break his sword and stab him before he could react and casually catch Black Panther mid-charge with a single hand and could react to the extreme speed of the bullets fired by Winter Soldier and War Machine and Okoye's thrown spear to easily blast it away. The 2014 Thanos was able to easily keep pace with and even beat Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man, with him being able to move faster than Iron Man's strongest armor could react while blocking his repulsors and casually toss aside Rogers as well as swiftly pummel and disarm Thor before he could react. He also could catch Stormbreaker faster than Thor could catch it to use against him.
Regenerative Healing Factor: Thanos has displayed an extremely strong regenerative healing factor, capable of quickly recovering from even the most severe of wounds as long as his head is not cut off. Mere moments after being damaged by Iron Man slightly, he was completely healed upon arriving on Wakanda. Even when Thor dealt a severe wound to his chest with the devastatingly powerful Stormbreaker, by the time he was "admiring the sunset" at an unknown place, he had completely regenerated, although the wounds of using the Infinity Stones would take a long period of time to heal and he did not manage to heal it at all until he was killed.
Superhuman Durability: Thanos has incalculably extraordinary, godly levels of supernatural resilience and durability, to the point many believed he cannot be killed and with not even the best efforts of those of great power and tenacity seen capable of inflicting lasting harm on him. rendering him capable of easily handling the Infinity Stones with the Infinity Gauntlet without any strain or harm done to himself, even surviving the power of all six without harm, something that none who have attempted have ever survived. Regula gunshots understandably does absolutely no harm to him, as shown when he remained completely unfazed by shots from the Winter Soldier, with even firearms and melee weapons of among the highest caliber doing very little harm to him, with him only barely flinching after being shot by Star-Lord and slashed by Drax's knives and managing to parry Drax's knives and Doctor Strange's Eldritch Sword with his bare hands without suffering any damage. In addition, his skin and skeleton is also nearly impenetrable to both outside and inside interference, as Doctor Strange decided against trying to use a Sling Ring to kill him as it wouldn't work fast enough to prevent Thanos's snap and if Ant-Man had tried to shrink himself, enter into his anus and then expand himself to kill the Mad Titan, the tough walls of Thanos' rectum would simply crush him to death. He is also able to effortlessly endure and shrug off attacks from beings of among the highest levels of superhuman strength as if it was nothing, as he was completely uninjured by punches from Spider-Man, which barely staggered him, remained completely uninjured by full-powered blows from Iron Man's Mark L armor, with even the sharp blades of the armor only inflicting a slight cut on Thanos' face, with him going as far as to mock Iron Man for only being able to draw a little drop of blood, and he was even barely fazed and completely uninjured by blows from Hulk or a fully-empowered Thor. Indeed, Thanos' durability is great enough that it took an attack from a fully-empowered Thor wielding Stormbreaker, a weapon so powerful that it was considered the most powerful in Asgard's history, to finally wound and harm him when the blade got lodged directly in his chest and even though Thor caused Thanos visible pain by twisting the ax deeper, Thanos retained enough strength to activate and use the Infinity Gauntlet at the scale needed to wipe out half of the universe, surviving such vast display of power despite the severe injury, although it did cause him to briefly entered a catatonic state but he quickly recovered, even going as far as to mock Thor for not aiming at his head. Even after being in a weakened state, Thanos was once again able to survive using the Infinity Gauntlet to destroy all the Stones, although it worsened his injuries. The 2014 Thanos was able to take blows from Captain America using Mjolnir, including lightning attacks, with no injuries despite being knocked around and staggered by them. In addition, he once again shrugged off Scarlet Witch's energy attacks despite her having grown even more powerful than last time and was even able to last long enough when Scarlet Witch used her full power to try to crush him for him to order his army to fire on her. After which, he was still able to take a beating from Captain Marvel without any significant damage.
Superhuman Stamina: Thanos has displayed vast levels of superhuman stamina, as he proved capable of exerting himself at full capacity for tremendous periods of time even while pressured, as shown when he endured fighting repeatedly in Titan and Wakanda against the likes of the Avengers, Guardians, Black Panther, and Okoye without once showing any signs of fatigue and even after being severely injured by Thor stabbing and then twisting Stormbreaker into his chest as deep as he could, Thanos retained enough stamina to activate the Infinity Gauntlet at the scale needed to wipe out half of the universe and although he was exhausted enough to enter a catatonic state briefly, Thanos quickly recovered and was still able to warp away and only moments later had fully recovered from any exhaustion he underwent. The 2014 Thanos was able to engage in a prolonged battle for the Infinity Stones, overpowering the efforts of any hero he had faced, and in the end only being stopped by Iron Man causing his death with the Infinity Stones.
Supernatural Powers: After equipping the Infinity Gauntlet into his left arm, combined with his already extraordinary physical constitution and raw power, Thanos gained the potential to safely harness the supernatural powers and dominion over all aspects of existence possessed by all six Infinity Stones should he add them to the Gauntlet, with the more stones Thanos inserts into the Gauntlet, the more power he gains. Upon acquiring all six stones, Thanos becomes nearly omnipotent and even gained the power to force living beings to just die without hesitation or resistance no matter if they were powerful or not. This was seen when even with a severe injury, he killed off half of life within the universe with just a snap of his fingers, making him the most powerful entity in the universe. It is notable that Thanos seems to completely master all the powers of the stones just after only shortly acquiring them, apparently showing he had full understanding and knowledge of the powers of the Infinity Stones, making him nearly invincible as he can easily and seamlessly switch between the powers of the stones and can even combine them.
Energy Absorption and Warping: Combining the Power and Space Stones, Thanos is able to absorb energies he was exposed to and transform them into something else, as he could absorb the explosive energy of Iron Man's missiles, and redirect it at the Avenger as a single concentrated beam of fiery energy.
Terrain Manipulation: Combining the Reality and Space Stones, Thanos can manipulate the terrain at a great enough scale to be able to pull the surface of Titan in order to force Doctor Strange closer to him.
Space Manipulation: After inserting the Space Stone into the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires the stone's complete control over space. His mastery and understanding of its powers allows him to achieve a wide plethora of liberal but potent capabilities and is not limited to simply opening portals, although it remains the most useful ability that he acquired as he can now effortlessly travel to anywhere he desires without needing to use any other transportation, even able to achieve interdimensional travel without aid now, as he easily warped to Knowhere, Titan, and later Wakanda by casually opening a portal and he can also take others with him, as he warped not only himself but also the entire Black Order after having the Power Stone slowly blow away the Statesman and can also forcibly warp others along with him with ease, as he effortlessly took both him and Gamora despite her resistance to his ship and later Vormir, as well as being able to use the portals to influence other locations without directly being there, doing so to send the Power Stone's energies to the moon and then send the pieces through the portal, with his precise control over the portals even allowing him to remove an object attached to him if he so desires, as he removed Stormbreaker from his chest upon warping away from Wakanda. He could create compression forces strong enough to create singularities that sucks up anything within close proximity, as shown when he summoned a devastating vortex that gathered up all in it's path and sent it at Doctor Strange, which Strange could not block and was forced to transmute it into a multitude of blue butterflies to repel it, funnel the kinetic force of oncoming projectile attacks to make them harmless and then gather them and redirect them, as he harmlessly funnel the kinetic energy of Iron Man's projectiles before sending it back at the hero, create force fields that can easily disintegrate bullets, as he easily destroyed multiple shots from War Machine, and even has the sufficient skill to alter the space between molecules, allowing him to make others intangible and just as easily make them solid again, as he easily phased Hulkbuster through him and stone before making him solid again to trap him. Thanos was also able to skillfully use the Stone as a powerful form of telekinesis, warping the fabric of space around objects in order to manipulate and move them with a single gesture. He was able to instantly freeze Loki mid-stab with ease, effortlessly crush the guns on War Machine's armor, knock down Falcon, and produce force fields powerful enough to repel the energy of Scarlet Witch as a means of defense. His Space Stone induced telekinesis was so strong that he was able to telekinetically pull the shattered fragments of Titan's moon across space to rain down on the attacking Avengers during the Battle of Titan.
Reality Manipulation: Upon acquiring the Reality Stone and inserting it into the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over reality, allowing him to warp the very fabric of reality itself to be whatever he desires, as he himself boasted to Gamora. He has shown to have a full understanding and mastery over the Reality Stone's powers, surpassing even Malekith, capable of using it to warp reality to such a degree as to create highly elaborate physical simulations and illusions of false realities over a wide range of influence, as evidenced when Thanos was able to create a false illusion of himself interrogating the Collector in a completely deserted Knowhere, in order to fool the approaching Guardians of the Galaxy and mask the colony's true status as burning down and utterly ruined, which was so convincing that the illusionary self of Thanos can be physically interacted with, with Gamora being able to fight and even kill the false Thanos. He later conjured another illusion to Doctor Strange, showing the planet Titan in its peaceful prime, in a time before it became an uninhabited wasteland. He can make himself invisible using the Reality Stone, as he first spoke to Gamora unseen before revealing himself shortly after undoing the illusion. Thanos can also use the Reality Stone to warp and transmute matter and object into anything he desires, even being able to do this to living organisms, as he effortlessly incapacitated Guardians Drax and Mantis by temporarily warping their physical bodies, splitting Drax's body into pieces and turning Mantis into still-conscious strips of flesh. While he did this by sending a beam from the Reality Stone, he can also silently do this and without needing to fire a beam, as when Star-Lord reluctantly attempted to execute his teammate and lover, Gamora, to prevent her capture by Thanos, the Titan silently transmuted his Quad Blasters to harmlessly fire bubbles, before transforming the weapon itself into bubbles, and would later do the same to Gamora's dagger on Vormir to prevent her committing suicide. Thanos can use this very effectively in combat, as evidenced when he fought in Titan and Wakanda, transmuting a field of ship wreckage into a swarm of bats to attack Iron Man. He can also manipulate the earth with the stone, spawning a cage of stone pillars to trap Black Widow and pulling the surface of Titan itself to pull Doctor Strange into his hand. Upon completing the Infinity Gauntlet, thus reaching the highest level of power the Reality Stone can exert, he became able to warp reality to such an extent that he was even able to cause the bodies of others to turn to dust at a global scale, even while severely injured, causing the victims of his genocide to disintegrate to ashes, with just a snap of his fingers.
Energy Manipulation: After inserting the Power Stone into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over the destructive force of the universe, giving him vast energy-manipulating powers. Due to his strong understanding of the Power Stone's capabilities, Thanos was able to use it for more diverse and versatile capabilities, with the Stone becoming one of his most versatile and often-used in combat for its destructive potential. Thanos' control over the energy of the Power Stone can allow him to infuse it into the Gauntlet, with it being strong enough to shatter a gateway to the Mirror Dimension sent to him by Doctor Strange. With a single gesture from the Gauntlet, Thanos is able to manipulate and specifically unleash the Stone's power to charge objects with unstable energy, causing them to overload and violently detonate. Thanos makes common use of this ability due to its versatility and combat potential, as he is able to control the time and size of the detonation, whether instantly or slowly as Thanos used the Stone to slowly overload and detonate the damaged Statesman after retrieving the Space Stone, giving himself time to teleport him and his Children out and later used the Stone's energy and versatile destructive powers to devastating effect, violently and instantly detonating a ruined spaceship fragment that was dropped on him by Iron Man. He can even exert such powerful energy that it was even powerful enough to rip apart the surface of Titan's moon with its sheer power. Thanos can also unleash tremendously powerful blasts or waves of the Stone's explosive energy, applying powerful concussive force or outright destroying objects with its volatile power. A wild shockwave of energy was able to knock out Star-Lord, Drax and Nebula instantaneously, with all three individuals having great superhuman resilience, while a few concussive waves were enough to effortlessly repel attacks and blast away the majority of the opposing Avengers during the Battle of Wakanda. The Stone's energy could also be concentrated into direct beams of power with enough power to be capable of cleaving through structures with ease, forcing back a shielded Iron Man, and heavily damaging the Avenger's armor with a single point-blank blast. Thanos could also use the stone for more subtle applications, such as exerting the energy upon others to torture them. During the Attack on the Statesman, Thanos utilized the Stone to torture an injured Thor, pushing the Stone into his head and causing the Asgardian excruciating pain using its energy. Used together with the Space Stone, Thanos also brutally tortured Nebula with its power, by telekinetically pulling her mechanical components apart while exposing her to the energy of the Power Stone. With the Power Stone, Thanos can also negate and redirect oncoming energy attacks, as he easily prevented Black Panther from using his kinetic energy pulse and redirected it to the earth when he struck the latter to the ground.
Time Manipulation: After inserting the Time Stone into his Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over time. Quickly completely mastering the Time Stone's powers, while using it similarly to Doctor Strange's method, although he does not need Eldritch Magic and simply needs to clench the Gauntlet to activate the Time Manipulation Magic, causing the same symbol of the Eye of Agamotto to appear in the palm of his Gauntlet's hand and similarly conjuring said symbol as he uses it. His skill is shown to be far more refined than Doctor Strange's, as Thanos has the skill needed to rewind time with the level of finesse needed to truly recreate an object, even one as powerful as an Infinity Stone, while simultaneously resurrecting a being and keeping some from being affected by it, as he was able to recreate the events where Vision died, so as to resurrect Vision and recreate the Mind Stone, even after Wanda Maximoff had destroyed both of them, while also keeping the Avengers from being affected to prevent them from trying to stop him, whereas Doctor Strange could not truly recreate the stolen pages of the Book of Cagliostro with the Time Stone, although this may have been aided by the fact that the Time Stone was amplified by the Gauntlet already having 4 other Stones. At the height of the Time Stone's powers, with the Infinity Gauntlet having been completed, Thanos gains the ability to accelerate the time of living creatures at a global scale, even able to do this while badly wounded, with the victims of his genocide quickly aging and becoming decomposable brown corpses.
Soul Manipulation: After inserting the Soul Stone into the Infinity Gauntlet, Thanos acquires complete control over souls as well as life and death, giving him divine authority over souls and the right to decide who lives and who dies. With the Soul Stone, Thanos can detect and attack the souls of others, allowing him to identify the real one among mystical replicas of others and attack them, as evidenced when he was able to tell which one is the real Doctor Strange and disperse his duplicates with a single burst of energy, also pushing the sorcerer's astral form out of his body for a while. Upon completing the Infinity Gauntlet and greatly enhancing the Soul Stone's powers as a result, Thanos gained the ability to induce death by wiping the very souls of his targets at a global scale to the point that, even with a severe injury, he still was able to use the Soul Stone in conjunction with the other Stones to successfully wipe out half of the universe, erasing the victim's souls from existence. This catastrophic event even claimed the lives of most of the Avengers and all of the Guardians of the Galaxy, with the exception of Rocket Raccoon and Nebula. The Soul Stone also can conjure dreams for Thanos to recover from exhaustion and speak with someone he cherishes, as after wiping out half of all life in the Universe, the sheer energy required to achieve such a feat nearly overwhelmed Thanos, and briefly sent him into a dream state caused by the Soul Stone itself, transporting his mind to a world consisting of a barren, infinite expanse of feet-high water under an orange sky. Within the dream world, Thanos saw himself as without the Gauntlet or his injuries sustained from Stormbreaker. Before returning to his senses, he was briefly able to communicate with a reflection of his deceased daughter, Gamora, standing under a Zen-Whoberi gateway - in the form of the young child she was when Thanos first met and adopted her - telling her of his final fulfillment of his lifelong goal and admitting to her the great cost and sacrifices made to achieve it.
Death Inducement: This ability is Thanos' most terrifying and yet the mightiest demonstration of his true power. After completing the Gauntlet, Thanos becomes able to use the powers of the Reality, Time, and Soul Stones at such a vast scale as to wipe out half of the universe with just the snap of his fingers, successfully achieving this even after being severely wounded by Thor using Stormbreaker. The victims of the universal genocide quickly aged before turning into a brown decomposing corpse, disintegrating them and erasing them from their physical existence.
Abilities
Genius-Level Intellect: Even in his youth, Thanos was deemed a genius among his kind, despite his deformation. His long life allowed Thanos to refine his intellectual aptitude to the highest degree, making him exceptionally intelligent. Hence, due to Thanos' intellectual genius, he is among the most intelligent (if not the most intelligent) individuals in the universe. His intellect makes him incredibly lethal even without using his powers or fighting skills, as displayed by his ability to conquer many worlds. By simply using his manipulative and strategic skills, he indirectly causes the Battle of Xandar and Chitauri Invasion, both of which caused the formations of the Guardians of the Galaxy and the Avengers to fight their respective battles. All the while, Thanos remained effectively anonymous, so much so that even the extremely intelligent Iron Man was completely fooled into believing that Loki had no aid during his invasion, and with Doctor Strange initially not having Thanos on his list of otherworldly threats. It was only after Thor received a vision on the Infinity Stones that he was able to figure out Thanos' involvement, with Thor admitting that Thanos had been using his intellect to play a very intricate game and has effectively used the Avengers as pawns without them even realizing it until Thor saw the vision. Thanos was even clever enough to be considerably superior to Loki himself, as he easily outsmarted him on more than one occasion - he not only successfully used Loki as a pawn without the latter realizing it for a long time, but he was later also able to successfully finish off the God of Mischief by easily predicting that he would attempt an assassination and countering it casually. Thanos also easily deceived the Guardians of the Galaxy into letting their guard down, thus allowing Thanos to incapacitate them and capture Gamora. Thanos is also highly perceptive, as he is not fooled at all by Loki and easily saw through Gamora's lies that she never found the Soul Stone. That said, Thanos' high view of his intellect is also the reason he failed as shown when his 2014 self got killed by letting his anger at the 2018 Avengers get the best of him after they proved him wrong.
Master of Manipulation: Thanos is an exceptionally skillful and experienced master of manipulation, quite possibly the best manipulator in the universe, as without leaving his throne, with superb manipulations of powerful beings alone, Thanos was able to cause the Battle of Xandar and Chitauri Invasion, which were among the most devastating battles ever known. He even managed to manipulate someone as intelligent as Loki, who was famous for his manipulation skills, with ease by using his distaste for Thor and Odin. Thor has said that Thanos has been playing a very intricate game for years with such efficiency that he has effectively manipulated the Avengers as pawns for his plans.
Master Tactician and Strategist: Thanos is an exceptionally accomplished strategist and tactician, with centuries of experience in using strategies, quite possibly the best master of tactical warfare currently in the universe. Thanos' mastery and experience in using strategy and tactics allows him to create extremely complex and well-coordinated plans and execute them effectively, with the strategies he created and employed being so effective that he gave the Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy great trouble all the while remaining anonymous. Thanos is even a far more skilled tactician than Loki, who was famous for being a crafty genius in orchestrating cunning schemes, as he easily deceived the God of Mischief into becoming his minion and later easily predicted and outsmarted Loki's attempt to assassinate him and successfully finished him off. Thanos' strategical aptitude also allows him to accurately predict incoming events and effectively manipulate said events to his advantage, as he was able to anticipate the Guardians going to Knowhere to retrieve the Reality Stone and arrived there before they could prevent him from taking it. Thanos even went as far as to set up a brilliant trap for the Guardians by casting an illusion to fool them into believing that he is still torturing the Collector for the Reality Stone while in actuality he had acquired the Reality Stone long before they arrived, all the while easily manipulating Gamora using illusions specifically seen in her mind to lure her into emotionally charging at Thanos, which worked to a great effect, catching Gamora and the Guardians completely off-guard and allowing Thanos to successfully capture Gamora and escape from the Guardians uninjured.
Master Leader: Thanos is an extremely skilled leader, with a large amount of charisma despite his intimidating persona, inspiring absolute loyalty to the violent and powerful armies of Chitauri and Outriders and members of the Black Order. He is known for having easily decimated dozens of species with his powerful army, killing the Zenohebrei and Luphomoid species.
Polymath: Thanos is also shown to be quite learned and accomplished in many subjects, such as math and science, with him thus being able to accurately predict that his people and planet was about to be devastated due to overpopulation, which he claims to be a simple calculus to him.
Master Martial Artist: Thanos wielded supreme fighting prowess and millennia worth of fighting experience, easily the deadliest fighter in the universe. His style is shown to be fluid, as he first defends against his enemy before unleashing a devastating barrage of attacks. He was able to easily fight off and quickly force back both Doctor Strange using a sword made of Eldritch Magic, and Drax with his knives while his right eye was blinded by a web cotton, easily fight off and swiftly pummel Spider-Man with only one hand while his other hand was restricted by the Cloak of Levitation) and easily defeat and grievously wound Iron Man (despite Iron Man's nanotech Mark L armor and sword, which he easily disarmed and used to land the severe wound), with only Doctor Strange's intervention saving Iron Man from death. Additionally, Thanos easily countered Black Panther's charge by choking him with a single hand and then pummeled him to the ground with a single punch, as well as effortlessly defeated and knocked out Captain America with a single blow. Most impressively, Thanos was even able to defeat and beat Hulk (the former undefeatable champion of the Grandmaster's Contest of Champions) to a bloody pulp with ease with well-coordinated attacks, something Iron Man could only do after a long battle and a moment of distraction, as well as defeat a fully-empowered Thor without much effort. It was only with a sneak attack that Thor, armed with Stormbreaker, was able to land a severe wound on Thanos, but even then the Mad Titan was able to quickly recover. The 2014 Thanos was able to easily repeatedly knock around Thor, Captain America, and Iron Man while also using his sword, with him not only easily downing Rogers and Stark unarmed but even overpowering Thor upon being disarmed of his sword when he was armed with Stormbreaker and soundly pummeling him. He was also able to surpass and ultimately defeat Captain Marvel and could overpower both Thor using both Mjolnir and his axe and Rogers ultimately. One should note, however, that he only beat Carol because he outsmarted her; not because he was the more skilled/powerful fighter.
Master Swordsman: Thanos was an extremely skilled swordsman, using a double-edged sword as his main weapon, with which he was able to easily fight off the combined assault of Captain America, Thor, and Iron Man, including the latter's lasers, even when powered by Thor's lightning, before being disarmed by Thor and near-entirely pressure Captain America into the defensive and soon gain the upper hand and break his shield. He was also able to use it skillfully to deflect energy projections from Scarlet Witch and nearly managed to defeat her, pushing the sword dangerously close to her neck, forcing her to use her powers to disarm him. He can throw it with dangerous accuracy, even able to achieve a boomerang-like effect, as he accurately threw it at Thor and it quickly returned to him after he missed, hit the superhumanly fast Black Panther in mid-air and even outpaced Captain Marvel to Luis's Van.
Torturer: Thanos is shown to be highly accomplished in many fields of torture, with his skills in torture being quite famous, as the Other implied Thanos can cause so much suffering to Loki that he would beg for pain itself. His mastery of torturing techniques allows him to inflict the maximum amount of damage without killing the subject, as when he tortured Nebula to make Gamora give up the location of the Soul Stone, Thanos used the Infinity Gauntlet to painfully pull apart Nebula's cybernetic implants, but he was casually able to avoid truly ripping the necessary implants apart in order to cause her severe pain without killing her. The torture was effective enough that Gamora fairly quickly gave in and told Thanos the location of the Soul Stone to spare Nebula from further torture.
EBONY MAW
Ebony Maw is a major antagonist in the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as one of the secondary antagonists of Avengers: Infinity War and as a minor antagonist in its sequel Avengers: Endgame.
He is the herald of the Black Order who (alongside Corvus Glaive, Cull Obsidian, and Proxima Midnight) assists Thanos in his quest to collect the Infinity Stones.
Maw was first seen raiding the Asgardians' ship following the destruction of Asgard by the deceased Surtur. Along with his father and siblings, he slaughtered the Asgardians and tells them to rejoice in becoming children of Thanos, before Thanos is attacked by the Hulk. Although Obsidian intends to help Thanos, Maw tells him to stand down, knowing that Thanos is too strong for the Hulk to defeat. When the defeated Hulk is sent back to Earth by Hemidall (who ends up being killed by Thanos), Maw uses his powers to restrain Thor, making him watch Thanos forcing Loki to surrender the Space Stone (the Tesseract). It is also revealed that Maw was involved in his father's attack on the planet Zen-Whoberi along with the Chitauri, massacred half the Zehoberei population (including Gamora's family) and took in Gamora. After Thanos kills Loki, Maw escaped with his family as Thanos uses the Orb to destroy the Asgardians' ship, leaving a helpless Thor to drift in space.
With two of the Infinity Stones in place, Thanos sends the Black Order to Earth to collect the Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto) and the Mind Stone while he personally travels to Knowhere to collect the Reality Stone (the Aether) from the Collector and Vormir to collect the Soul Stone from the Red Skull. Assigned to collect the Eye of Agamotto, Maw and Obsidian tracked down its current location in New York City, where they laid down an attack in to draw out Doctor Strange (the current holder of the Eye), also attracting Tony Stark, Wong, Bruce Banner (who had warned the group about Thanos) and Spider-Man. Despite the heroes' efforts, Maw managed to capture Strange and flies away on his ship, intending to deliver the Eye to Thanos at the planet Titan while Obsidian meets up with Proxima and Glaive to later attack Wakanda to get the Mind Stone.
Unknown to Maw, Tony and Spider-Man had snuck on-board to stop him and save Strange. Maw begins torturing Strange to force him to release the Time Stone, while Tony and Spider-Man come up with a plan, leading to Spider-Man asking Tony if he has ever seen the film Aliens. Tony soon confronts Maw, who arrogantly remarks that his abilities are superior to Tony's and he will kill him easily, although the latter states "yeah, but the kid has seen more movies" before blasting a hole in the ship. Maw is then sucked out into space, where he freezes to death while his ship crashes on Titan. His siblings would later meet the same fate along with their army of Outriders during the battle in Wakanda.
Despite the losses, Thanos shows no regard for Ebony's death when he arrived on Titan and deduced it after seeing Doctor Strange free and waiting for him as he managed to collect the Time Stone after defeating the heroes in Titan; though he did say that Ebony carried his mission anyway by dragging Strange to Titan, implying that he appreciated his adopted son's efforts. Thanos then heads over to Earth to successfully collect the Mind Stone, allowing himself to use the Stones to wipe out half of the universe's populace (including several Avengers and Guardians), much to the surviving heroes' distraught.
Avengers: Endgame
Five years after Thanos' destruction of half of all life, the remaining Avengers and Guardians use the properties of the Quantum Realm to travel back to different points in time to collect the Infinity Stones and use them to undo Thanos' actions; however, due to the sensors of the past and future Nebula interfering, the past Nebula inadvertently reveals to Thanos that the future Nebula and War Machine are on Morag preparing to take the Power Stone. Thanos takes Nebula to Maw to be inspected, and by searching through her memories they learn that Thanos will ultimately succeed in his goal, much to his joy. However, Maw goes further into Nebula's memories, also revealing to them that Thanos will be killed and that the Avengers will still try to reverse his actions.
With this knowledge in mind, Thanos has the future Nebula abducted before she can return to the present and swaps the past Nebula (who is still loyal to him) in her place, allowing her to transport Thanos and his forces, Maw included, into the future; right after Hulk construct and use the Avenger's own Infinity Gauntlet to revive everyone who had been killed. Thanos proceeds to bomb the Avengers' headquarters and, after revealing his new plan to decimate the entire universe and the create a new universe in his image to Thor, Iron Man and Captain America before defeating them, unleashes his forces (including Maw and the rest of the Black Order, the Chitauri, the Outriders, and the Sakaaran Mercenaries) to destroy the remaining Avengers and ravage the earth. However, they are opposed by an army of the Avengers' revived allies, who battle Maw and the others as they try to get their hands on the Infinity Gauntlet. Following a massive battle, Iron Man ultimately sacrifices himself by attaching the Infinity Stones to his armor and using their power to decimate Thanos and his armies. This resulted resulting in a distraught Thanos watching Maw, as Maw bowed to his master for the final time as a gesture of loyalty to his dying master before dying himself.

PROXIMA MIDNIGHT
Proxima Midnight is a major antagonist in the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as one of the secondary antagonists of the 2018 Marvel blockbuster film Avengers: Infinity War, and as a minor antagonist in its 2019 sequel Avengers: Endgame.
She is a high-ranking member of the Black Order who (alongside Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Cull Obsidian) assists Thanos in his quest to collect the Infinity Stones.
Proxima was first seen raiding the Asgardians' ship following the destruction of Asgard by the deceased Surtur. Along with her father and siblings, she slaughtered the Asgardians to their deaths just as Thanos fights against the raging Hulk. When the defeated Hulk is sent back to Earth by Hemidall (who ends up being killed by Thanos), Proxima helps her siblings in forcing Loki to surrender the Space Stone (the Tesseract) to Thanos. It is also revealed that Proxima was involved of her father's attack on the planet Xandar to gain possession of the Power Stone (the Orb), which he used to destroy Xandar. After Thanos kills Loki, Proxima escaped with her family as Thanos uses the Orb to destroy the Asgardians' ship, leaving a helpless Thor to drift in space.
Assigned to collect the Mind Stone, Proxima and Glaive tracked down its location in Scotland, where they spot Vision (the current holder of the Mind Stone) and Scarlet Witch. Both Proxima and Glaive attempt to ambush the two, but the arrival of Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon forced the two to escape back into space. The Avengers then send Vision out to Wakanda, in hopes that they could use its technology to safely remove the Mind Stone and destroy it with Scarlet Witch's powers.
After collecting the Aether and the Soul Stone, Thanos heads over to Titan, where he defeated several Avengers and Guardians to get the Time Stone (the Eye of Agamotto). Around the same time, he sends Proxima, Corvus and Obsidian to Wakanda, ordering them to lead a massive army of Outriders to attack the country and obtain the Mind Stone at all costs. This forces several Avengers and Wakandan warriors to fight back against the massive army. During the battle, Proxima eventually meets her end when Scarlet Witch uses her magic to blast her into the spinning blades of one of her own war machines, but not before Proxima tells her that Vision will die alone and that Scarlet Witch will suffer the same fate. The rest of Proxima's siblings and the Outriders ends up being killed as well, thanks to the arrival of a returning Thor, Rocket Racoon, and Groot with a new powerful weapon called Stormbreaker.
Despite the massive losses, an arriving Thanos didn't care about Proxima's death as he managed to obtain the Mind Stone while killing Vision at the same time. Even when Thor used Stormbreaker to strike Thanos in the chest, Thanos used all of the Infinity Stones to wipe out half of the universe's populace in retaliation, taunting Thor that he should aimed for the head instead. Proxima's prediction even became true when Scarlet Witch starts to disintegrate to her death along with several Avengers and Guardians while a triumphant Thanos escapes and oversees a sunrise from another planet.
Avengers: Endgame
She can be seen during the final battle along with the rest of the Black Order. They began to fight until they ended up dead along with the rest of Thanos' forces after Iron Man's snap. Before being disintegrated herself alongside Corvus, Proxima can be seen in the background cradling Corvus himself, who had been wounded early on by Okoye.
CORVUS GLAIVE
Corvus Glaive is a major antagonist in the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, serving as one of the secondary antagonists of the 2018 Marvel blockbuster film Avengers: Infinity War, and as a minor antagonist in its 2019 sequel Avengers: Endgame.
He is a high-ranking member of the Black Order who (alongside Ebony Maw, Cull Obsidian, and Proxima Midnight) assists Thanos in his quest to collect the Infinity Stones.
Glaive was first seen raiding the Asgardians' ship following the destruction of Asgard by Surtur. When the defeated Hulk is sent back to Earth by Heimdall (who ends up being killed by Thanos), Glaive helps his siblings in forcing Loki to surrender the Space Stone (the Tesseract) to Thanos. It is also revealed that Glaive was involved of his father's attack on the planet Xandar to gain possession of the Power Stone (the Orb), which he used to destroy Xandar. After Thanos kills Loki, Glaive escaped with his family as Thanos uses the Orb to destroy the Asgardians' ship, leaving a helpless Thor to drift in space.

Assigned to collect the Mind Stone, Glaive and Proxima tracked down its location in Scotland, where they spot Vision (the current holder of the Mind Stone) and Scarlet Witch. Both Glaive and Proxima attempt to ambush the two, but the arrival of Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon forced the two to escape back into space. The Avengers then send Vision out to Wakanda, in hopes that they could use its technology to safely remove the Mind Stone and destroy it with Scarlet Witch's powers.

Around the same time, he sends Proxima, Corvus, and Obsidian to Wakanda, ordering them to lead a massive army of Outriders to attack the country and obtain the Mind Stone at all costs. This forces several Avengers and Wakandan warriors to fight back against the massive army. During the battle, Glaive infiltrated into the Wakandan palace after defeating Shuri and Ayo before engaging into a fight against Vision and then Captain America, assuring to Vision that he will die an ordinary man. However, after taking his weapon, Vision kills Glaive by stabbing him from behind, just as soon as the rest of his siblings and the Outriders end up being killed as well (thanks to the arrival of a returning Thor, Rocket Racoon, and Groot with a new powerful weapon called Stormbreaker).
Despite the massive losses, Glaive's prediction became true when an arriving Thanos managed to obtain the Mind Stone while killing Vision at the same time. Even when Thor used Stormbreaker to violently strike Thanos in the chest, Thanos used all of the Infinity Stones to wipe out half of the universe's populace (including several Avengers and Guardians) before escaping away, taunting Thor that he should've aimed for the head instead.
Avengers: Endgame
Five years after Thanos' destruction of half of all life, the remaining Avengers and Guardians use the properties of the Quantum Realm to travel back to different points in time to collect the Infinity Stones and use them to undo Thanos' actions; however, due to the sensors of Nebula's past and future selves interfering, the Thanos of 2014 ends up learning of the Avenger's plans and that they had killed him in their time. Knowing this, Thanos decides to use the Stones to wipe out all life and create a new universe, and has 2014 Nebula impersonate her future counterpart and bring his ship and all of his forces, Glaive included, to the future.
After bombing the Avenger's headquarters and defeating Thor, Iron Man and Captain America, Thanos unleashes all of his minions upon the earth to overrun his enemies and destroy the planet, Glaive and the other Children of Thanos, along with the Chitauri and Outriders, among them. However, they are opposed by an army of the Avengers' revived allies, who battle Glaive and the others as they try to get their hands on the Infinity Gauntlet. During the battle, Thanos is overcome by Scarlet Witch and orders Glaive to have their ship bomb the battlefield, which he does; though this attempt to destroy the heroes fails when Captain Marvel arrives and destroys the ship. Glaive is then wounded by Okoye shortly afterwards, and is later killed along with the rest of Thanos' forces when Iron Man sacrifices himself in using the Gauntlet to destroy them and Thanos.
CULL OBSIDIAN
Cull Obsidian is a major antagonist in the Infinity Saga of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He serves as one of the secondary antagonists of the 2018 Marvel blockbuster film Avengers: Infinity War, and as a minor antagonist in its 2019 sequel Avengers: Endgame.
He is a high-ranking member of the Black Order and, physically, the strongest one of them all. He (alongside Ebony Maw, Corvus Glaive and Proxima Midnight) assists Thanos in his quest to collect the Infinity Stones.
Obsidian was first seen raiding the Asgardians' ship following the destruction of Asgard by the deceased Surtur. Along with his father and siblings, he slaughtered the Asgardians to their deaths just as Thanos fights against the raging Hulk. Although Obsidian intends to help Thanos, Maw tells him to stand down, knowing that Thanos is too strong for the Hulk to defeat. When the defeated Hulk is sent back to Earth by Hemidall (who ends up being killed by Thanos), Obsidian helps his siblings in forcing Loki in surrendering the Space Stone (the Tesseract) to Thanos. It is also revealed that Obsidian was involved of his father's attack on the planet Xandar to gain possession of the Power Stone (the Orb), which he used to destroy Xandar. After Thanos kills Loki, Obsidian escaped with his family as Thanos uses the Orb to destroy the Asgardians' ship, leaving a helpless Thor to drift in space.
Assigned to collect the Eye of Agamotto, Maw and Obsidian tracked down its current location in New York City, where they laid down an attack in to draw Iron Man, Spider-Man and Doctor Strange (the current holder of the Eye) into the scene. Despite the heroes' efforts, Maw managed to capture Strange and flies away on his ship, intending to deliver the Eye to Thanos at the planet Titan while Obsidian meets up with Proxima and Glaive after their failed attempt to collect the Mind Stone.
After collecting the Aether, the Soul Stone and the Eye of Agamotto, Thanos sends Proxima, Glaive and Obsidian to Wakanda, ordering them to lead a massive army of Outriders to attack the country and obtain the Mind Stone at all costs. This forces several Avengers and Wakandan warriors to fight back against the massive army. During the battle, Obsidian engaged into a fight against Bruce Banner wearing a Hulkbuster suit. Though he managed to tear off one of Banner's arms, Banner set the arm flying by activating its thrusters, sending Obsidian into the forcefield protecting Wakanda until he exploded to his death. His siblings and the Outriders would later meet the same fate after being killed by the Avengers and Guardians.
Despite the losses, an arriving Thanos didn't care about Obsidian's death and managed to collect the Mind Stone after killing Vision. Thanos then used all of the Infinity Stones to wipe out half of the universe's populace (including several Avengers and Guardians), much to the heroes' distraught.
Avengers: Endgame
He can be seen during the final battle, along with the rest of the Black Order. Cull began to fight Korg before being stepped on and subsequently killed by Giant Ant-Man.
The new recruits all gasped in shock, amazement and horror.
Twilight Sparkle: Wow! Thanos was that dangerous?
Me: He sure was. And it was one of the most devastating battles in the entirety of our history. It was also the first time I unleashed my ultimate power.
Nico: I remember that. That was incredible.
Applejack: You got to be kidding! I felt that enormous power 1 year ago! That was you?
Me: Yep. That was me. But I wasn't as powerful back then as I am now.
Vince: It's true.
Lincoln: Yeah it was intense. You should've seen what he was like back then.
Lola: Yeah.
Me: That was one of the most devastating battles in the entirety of our history. We really went at Thanos and his followers and made sure that they all paid for their crimes.
Nico: Yep. And we really made sure that did.
Poliwag: I just love eating burgers!
Poliwag was eating piles of burgers.
Nico: Slow down Poliwag.
Poliwag: (With his mouth full) Sorry.
Vypra: I remember the aftermath of the Battle with Thanos. That was rough and awful.
Bowser: I know. That was intense that all that happened.
Maria: I know.
Manaphy: Mama, I honestly prefer your brown hair. But I do like that it's in a ponytail now!
May: Thanks Manaphy.
Me: But you look awesome with a blue and aqua blue Ponytail. It also got you an amazing and very rare kind of Pokemon.
Nico: Yeah a Blue Flame Rapidash.
Lincoln: Which is so cool.
May: That's true. But thanks guys.
Maria: May is it possible then you can switch between hair colors?
May: I never thought of that. But let me see.
May flared up her aura and her blue ponytail reverted back to brown.
May: How does it look?
I held up a mirror and showed her.
May: Wow! I CAN do that.
Me: Yep.
Horsea: Can I ask a question?
Me: What's up?
Horsea: What do you think would happen if me, Poliwag, Manaphy, and Poromon ate bananaquats?
Me: You would go ballistic and crazy. But maybe we can use this on villains that we face.
Nico: Good idea.
Poromon: You know, I did plan for that cocaine brick Steve got to be the source of us going crazy on some villains.
Me: I know. But that stuff is illegal as all get out.
Nico: Yeah.
We later had a great meal and we were stuffed.
May: So... what now?
Me: Lets head out to the Asteroid Belt where the Battle of Thanos took place. I want the Masters of Evil and everyone that joined us over the last year to see it.
Nico: Good idea.
Rainbow Dash: Can we even breathe in space?
Me: We all sure can.
Dark Spicer: I'll use Staromorphidon to explore the Asteroid Belt.
Me: Good idea. Lets fly into Space.
Dark Spicer turned into Staromorphidon and we flew into the sky and into Space.
We were flying through the endless vacuum of space.
Applejack: (Echoing) Wow! We're all in space!
Rainbow Dash: (Echoing) This is awesome!
Nico: (Echoing) Yep. Welcome to space.
Vypra: (Echoing) This is amazing! It's like we all can now be one with the stars.
Luan: (Echoing) It's a Starry Starry Night! (Laughs) Get it?
We laughed at Luan's Joke.
Pinkie Pie: (Echoing) Ooh! Good one!
Princess Luna: This is so amazing. I've always imagined what it would be like to travel in the endless voids of space.
Nicole: It's what every scientist and astronomer dreams of. Seeing the endless beauty of Space with stars, planets, galaxies, nebulae, solar systems and moons all showing its secrets for all of us to share with everyone. An endless mystery for all of us.
Me: That's right.
Twilight Sparkle: Wow. This is so cool!
Linka: It sure is.
Me: Yep. We had to journey through half of the solar system to find Thanos's ship. But as a result of that whole battle, we suffered a heavy loss. We suffered 2 heavy casualties: Ra's Al Ghul and Bowser.
Nico: Yep.
Me: Supergiant killed Ra's.
Twilight Sparkle: I remember you telling us that.
Robo-Blaze: So Supergiant killed Ra's before the battle?
Rojo: Yep. I killed Supergiant for that. And for not paying me after Argit was taken down.
Nico: Yep.
Me: And Bowser made the ultimate sacrifice to save me from making a stupid mistake.
FLASHBACK
Thanos was weakened and down for the count.
Me: (Divine Voice) It's over Thanos.
I took Thanos's Infinity Guantlet, put it on and put all the Infinity Stones in it.
Me: You will pay for all of your crimes against the universe. I'm going to snap you and all of your followers out of existence forever!
Thanos: You fool! By using the Infinity Gauntlet and the Stones, you'll kill yourself!
Me: Nothing else matters as long as everyone else is safe!
But just as I about to snap my fingers, Bowser pushes me out of the way.
Me: Bowser! What are you doing!?
Bowser: Sorry, J.D. but I can't let you do this.
Thanos: I do not need your assistance, Bowser. You had your chances to defeat Team Loud Phoenix Storm, and you have been nothing but a failure.
Bowser: I've failed at many things, Thanos, but I won't fail at this!
Bowser Jr.: (realizes what's about to happen) Dad, no! (Bowser snaps his fingers)
Bowser turns Thanos and his goons to dust at the cost of his own life. We saw Thanos and all of his men and followers and even his own ship disintegrate in an instant! They were completely erased from existence forever! Like Hakai on steroids. We were on an asteroid holding on to Bowser.
Bowser Jr.: (cries) Dad, hang in there. We'll get you healed up!
Bowser: (Weakly) Junior, no. Consider this redemption for my crimes. But I'll always love you no matter what. Remember that.
Bowser Jr.: I will.
Mario: (cries) Bowser, why did you do this?
Bowser: Isn't this what you guys were taught to do? Isn't this what a hero would do? Isn't this what a best friend would do?
Mario: (smiles) Yes. It is what a best friend would do. My best friend.
Bowser: (smiles weakly) You and Team Loud Phoenix Storm have great power, Mario. And the world needs you guys more than it needs me.
And with that, Bowser dies in Mario's arms.
Bowser was gone. But the good news is that Thanos and the entire Black Order had been silenced forever. The Universe was free of their terror.
We went back to Earth.
FLASHBACK ENDS
Everyone gasped in shock.
Tyler Bowman: WHOA! Bowser you are a true hero.
Amy Anderson: Yeah! You saved J.D.
Bowser: I know.
Rarity: But you deserve a great medal for your heroic deed.
Me: We already did that Rarity. We gave him and Ra's a statue in our garden in honor of their heroism.
Ra's: It's true Rarity. And I am most honored that you did that for us.
Me: Think nothing of it Ra's.
Laney: Look at that!
We saw that we were flying by the planet Mars and we were 300,000 miles above the planet. It was more beautiful than what we thought and it was like another Earth.
Nico: Whoa! Is that Mars?
Me: It sure is. Wow! It's more beautiful as another Earth than as a red dust wasteland that makes it look like a rusty nail. No offense Mars.
Sailor Mars: None taken.
Vypra: I didn't know Mars got completely terraformed now.
Nicole: We all were shocked ourselves. Terraforming technology is still in the theoretical stages and won't be available for at least 100 to 500 more years.
Staromorphidon: It's amazing that it's now like Earth.
Nico: Yep.
Lana: Wow. It's so amazing.
Naruto: We all were amazed that it's like Earth now.
Fu: We sure were.
Me: We're almost there guys.
We arrived at the Asteroid Belt.
Me: Here we are guys. The Asteroid Belt.
Nico: Wow.
We saw the pieces of Thanos's ship the Sanctuary II.
Firefly: So there was a spaceship here before?
Me: Yep. The Sanctuary II and these are the very pieces of that ship.
Fluttershy: Goodness.
Rarity: So what was the goal of Thanos?
Me: Destroy all life in the entire universe and remake it in his own image.
Nico: Yeah.
They all gasped in shock.
Rarity: That's terrible!
Sunset Shimmer: Yeah it is. I've read so much about Thanos but I didn't know he was that dangerous.
Shiv: From what I heard, Thanos was planning to wipe out half of all life in the universe.
Me: That's right Shiv. But luckily we were one step ahead of Thanos. We got all the Infinity Stones before he could.
Vypra: Wow. Who had all the Infinity Stones?
Me: That's an easy one. The Red Stone for Reality was in the staff of Danny's insane enemy Freakshow.
Brittney: Freakshow was the Ringmaster of Circus Gothica.
Vypra: I've heard of him.
Me: The Purple Stone of Power was in the hammer of Ronan the Accuser.
Nico: I remember that.
Me: Yep. The Blue Stone of Space was in The Cosmic Cube.
Lincoln: Yep.
Me: The Orange Stone of Soul was on the planet Vormir and I sacrificed Peter Griffin and Bad Lois to get it.
Joe Swanson: I remember that and that was because we ran out of ideas for humiliating them.
Me: Yep. The Green Stone of Time was in the necklace that Dr. Strange wore.
Dr. Strange: That's right.
Me: And lastly the Yellow Stone of Mind was in the Staff of Loki, the God of Mischief.
Vypra: Wow. And Loki doesn't have his powers anymore.
Me: No he doesn't. And now he lives with Mr. Grouse.
Nico: But he is a good friend now and is learning so much from him and us.
Me: Yep. But thanks to us and the Legion Of Doom working together, the universe can breathe a huge sigh of relief knowing that Thanos will never hurt anyone in the entire universe ever again.
Lincoln: Yep. Good riddance.
Vexen: And how long did it take for all of you to defeat Thanos?
Me: I would say about a year.
Electro: So it took you guys a year to eventually defeat Thanos?
Me: Well I lost track of how long it took to defeat him. But I would say that long.
Nico: Yeah.
Star Lord: I take full responsibility for this. If me and my team had just ended Thanos sooner, that battle wouldn't have had to happen at all.
Me: It's not your fault Peter. The Battle with Thanos was inevitable. It was gonna happen one way or another.
Nico: Yeah man it was totally unavoidable.
Lincoln: Yep.
Me: That's right. But after the battle, the Legion Of Doom disbanded and the Masters of Evil took their place. And over the course of 1 year we have accomplished so much already for both sides.
Vypra: We sure have.
Snake: Dudes, if it weren't for the Battle against Thanos, the Masters of Evil probably wouldn't have been formed at all.
Me: That's right Snake and we have gotten so close over the course of one year.
Carly: We sure did.
Jack Atlas: Indeed we did.
Eli: But at least you all made it back safe and no one else got killed.
Me: Yeah. That's true little bro.
Nunnally: But thank goodness Thanos will never be welcome back in the universe again.
Akira Akatsuki: Yep.
We later went back to Earth and I showed the Masters of Evil the graves of Ra's and Bowser and where we had them buried 1 year ago today. But that battle still haunts us even after 1 year has passed. Even though the wounds from that battle are healed the scars still remain.
THE END
Another awesome fanfic done.
1 Year Ago today on December 26th, 2019 we had the most devastating battle in the entirety of the series and it was a battle that shook the very fabric of the universe to the core. That was incredible. NicoChan11, JediAvatarOfShinobi, Omegahatchiyak12, XP4Universe and ninjakingofhearts all gave me the ideas for this. Thanks guys. Poor Lincoln is gonna come down with the flu in a funny but silly land version of the SpongeBob episode Suds. Lincoln is gonna need a lot of TLC and a trip to the doctors office after what happens in this one.
See you all tomorrow
