Test 674-3(Extended Part 2)

Subject Matter: Dragon Ball(Original Anime)

Target: Pilaf(A.K.A. The Great King Pilaf or Emperor Pilaf)

Results:

Note: Due to the nature of this franchise, the D-Class was to be exposed to the movies in their supposed chronological order, necessitating the 'Dead Zone' movie come between Dragon Ball and its sequel series. However, tests with it, as well as several other movies have resulted in a similar 'erasure' as with Persona 5 in a preceding test. These have therefore been omitted, and only the series proper will be covered.

The series opens on a dark room, covered in shadows and machinery. There is a spark in the darkness, lighting it up briefly, showing what, at first, appear to be weapons lining the walls, along with robotic arms and legs, and even heads of androids, in various states of disrepair, as a voice mumbles in the darkness, and the camera slowly zooms in to show a figure crouched over a table.

This figure, lost in shadows, holds up a hand, and snaps their fingers, a small spark appearing at the end of the pointer finger, which is then touched onto a circuit board, slowly moving along the surface, laying down a path. When it's finished, the figure, removing a welder's face mask, throws back their head and lets out a shrill, almost banshee like laugh that echoes into the darkness.

Then the light comes on, and the figure, revealed to be a young girl, of about four years of age. She has light blue hair, tied behind her head to keep out of her eyes, and is wearing a blue jumpsuit with the Capsule Corps. Logo on the back. More importantly, as she blinks against the light, she rubs her eyes with a tail, colored the same as her hair, before looking up to a woman that appears to be a slightly older Bulma.

Bulma chides the girl, Bulla, about the time, saying they agreed to meet up with someone, and when the girl says she's almost done, Bulma threatens to leave her behind when they go to meet Uncle Krillin and Grampa Roshi, which causes Bulla to leap up in excitement, and quickly store the circuit board in a static sleeve, which she further protects in a plastic drawer and follows her mother out.

We are then given a sweeping shot of West City, and a small narration that, over the past five years, the world has been at peace. With Piccolo and other dark forces retreating, as Goku and his friends protect the Earth. In that time, he has had one child, the spunky girl, Bulla, who floats behind her mother, showing she can fly, as Bulma quickly gathers a few supplies into a picnic basket...then reveals six identical ones next to it, all turned into a single capsule that she pockets.

The mother/daughter duo then leave, to find Goku, in a similar blue jumpsuit, though sleeveless, waiting on the lawn, in a meditative stance. Bulla wanders up to him, and he pretends to still be meditating as she climbs atop his head, and he then tosses her upwards, before she flies down, and with a quick bit of punches and kicks, shows she's not only got her mother's brains, but her father's fighting spirit.

Bulma then gets the two to her hover car, Goku asking why they're bothering with it, considering they can fly, but Bulma pointing out that Goku is forbidden from flying in city limits after the Sake incident last month. We are not given more details, other than a single shot of a building, with a hole in the middle still being repaired, as Goku slouches into the backseat of the car, and Bulma drives them off.

It doesn't take them long to arrive at a familiar looking landscape, the farmland, currently still covered in small craters, that they'd been training in all those years ago with the others. For a brief moment, ghostly visions of Yamcha, Krillin, and an older Roshi, fill the sky, and Goku smiles, even mimicking his own vision's motions for a moment, before leading his wife and daughter to a nice spot to wait.

They don't have to wait long, as a portal of blue light suddenly appears in the air, opening to reveal an orange ring on the other side, with Krillin, still in the purple gi with the Omni symbol on it. He tells them, as he steps forward, it's a nice technique he'd picked up from a guy named Johnson in a cave somewhere. Before he can explain more, he's tackle hugged by Bulla, declaring him 'Uncle Krill-Dawg'(Subtitles used for spelling accuracy).

Bulma rolls her eyes at the lame nickname, and then motions for him to sit with her, looking over the Limiter bands on his limbs, saying he hadn't grown much since they'd seen him last, and he reminds her it was less than two months ago, while she informs him that in that same time, Bulla's had to be adjusted twice...well really once, Bulla had 'adjusted' hers on her own forcing Bulma to fix them back, but still.

She then offers him a picnic basket, and when he makes a crack about having enough food, she just tells him she's got plenty more where that came from, knowing she'd need them with her husband and daughter, who were black holes when it came to food. The pair both laugh as Krillin takes a moment to dig in, and then rises, stretching out his limbs, and offering to warm up with Goku.

As the pair spar, with Bulla cheering them on, Roshi, now simply in the garb of Earth's Guardian, without the Trainee/Apprentice word on his robes, appears, and gets between them, smirking as he goes into a routine, using his staff to keep the two off balance for a few moments, before finally calling a halt to the spar, as he descends down, and hugs Bulla himself, 'Grandpa' Roshi getting a kiss on his cheek too.

Putting Bulla back down, after ruffling her hair a bit, that she straights out with a huff, Roshi turns to the others, and then asks Bulma if her gizmos are still tracking the thing he senses approaching Earth, and she nods, pulling out a small handheld computer, and quickly typing on it, to bring up a holographic display of the Earth, as well as a small object on approach, coming toward this location.

They comment, briefly, on how odd it was that it was coming down on their old training ground, but Roshi is glad for it, as he remembers this place used to be farmland, and imagining the darkness he senses approaching normal people sends a chill down his spine, even as he joins Krillin and the others for a bit of the picnic, the group trading small stories of their adventures, which causes the remainder of the first episode to be a quick recap/clip episode of the previous series.

The second episode opens with the object, a space pod, coming down to Earth, and landing with a huge impact, smashing into the ground with enough force to make a crater. Yet, oddly, when the smoke clears, the craft seems hardly damaged, and Bulma remarks on wanting a good scan of the material it's made out of, as well as the thing's engines, even before the pod opens, and everyone drops into a fighting stance.

Each one imagines something different coming out of it, from Bulma's imagining of a high tech robot, to Krillin imagining another Piccolo, to Goku just some shape covered in evil spikes, and Roshi simply a dark form with red eyes. As the figure emerges, bathed in light from behind, it pulls itself up, and reveals a very human looking figure, in black and brown armor, with a tail just like Goku's.

The defining feature of the character is his hair though, which is almost as much mass as his body. Still, he climbs up out of the pod, and is then surprised when he looks around and sees everyone, before spotting Goku's own tail, and declaring he was happy to see his brother was waiting for him, saying he figured this was some kind of welcoming committee to show his conquest.

The 'brother' part is the thing that catches everyone off guard, and Roshi, after some thought, reveals that he actually kind of thought Goku might be from space. He tells a story Gohan had told him once, of a star bringing him a child. He'd figured it was just that, a story, but if he was telling the truth, well, it would explain a lot of Goku's eccentricities. Though this makes Bulma kind of furious, as it implies he knew where to find a spaceship for more than twenty years and never told her. So much research time, wasted!

Raditz, as he identifies himself, then brings the conversation back to himself, and info dumps about Goku's(He names him Kakarot, but is told his name is Goku here, and just shrugs it off) and his people, the Saiyans, a name that sparks something in Bulma, though she doesn't know what. Still, learning his people are conquerors, working for some planet pirates is not fun for Goku, who declares he'd never do something like that...well, not for conquest purposes, flying the stars to find strong people to fight sounds fun.

That is when Raditz pulls out his scouter, and scans the group, only to be shocked by what he sees. The group's power levels are all over the place. The woman is at thirty-two, the old man returns NULL, which is not a reading he'd seen before, his brother and the short one are in the mid fifties, and the child...wait child? Anyway, the child is over two-thous...WHAT?!

The sight of Bulla finally registers with Raditz, as does her Power Level(A relative measure of strength using a device called a Scouter that is worn on one eye). She is obviously of Saiyan blood, mixed with human, given her hair color, both on her head, and almost as importantly, her tail, which is not the normal earthy brown that it should be, which takes him aback, and even has him ask if she can transform into an Oozaru.

This leads to a need to explain what that is, and the fact that under a full moon, a Saiyan transforms into a great ape, something he chides Goku for never seeing, especially given there's one every 20 or so days on this planet, though Bulma points out that if he's not active at night, why would he? All it would take is a few cloudy days, and a couple of early turn ins which they do pretty much every day, and he'd never see it.

That is when he finally remembers to talk about the power level of the child, and Bulla reveals she turned off her Limiters when they were coming here, since her mother told her to, just in case it was dangerous and she'd need to run. The word Limiters means nothing to him, but he scans her again, and claims the Scouter has to be busted, given not one of them is putting out anything beyond double digits.

Bulma, curious, asks him about the scanner, and he talks about the Scouter a bit, revealing how Power Levels work, how each point means you have enough energy to move a unit of mass a set distance, giving alien measurements that turn out to coincide with metric units almost perfectly. It takes him to the end to realize he should really be fighting these people, but Bulma, smirking, asks him what his Power Level is.

Fifteen-hundred is the number given, which he compares to a sun to her paltry thirty-two candle, but she tells him to keep that thing on her, as she releases her Limiters one level at a time. Going from thirty-two to fifty-seven to one-hundred-twelve to two-hundred-thirty-five to four-hundred-six and then to seven-ninety-three, before finally ending with her turning them off completely, winding up at eight-hundred-fifty-two at her maximum, her release limit being Level Five

That surprises Raditz, who then turns to the others. Roshi points out he probably returns NULL because he's not using Mortal Ki right now, but Divine, as he is Earth's Guardian, though Goku and Krillin, with smiles, ask him to look at them, and Raditz does, watching as they start at Level Five Release, going into the two-thousand range themselves, and then going up from there, winding up with Goku at over nine-thousand, and Krillin at almost eleven-thousand.

That last causes the little guy to celebrate, though Goku chides he has to hold back a bit to train with Bulla, and has had to take care of her, but a few weeks should bring him up to Krillin's level. Meanwhile Raditz just stands there, trembling, as Bulma walks up, and asks if she can see his Scouter, the Saiyan easily handing it over, only for the thing to suddenly blare out with an enraged voice.

Vegeta, as he is identified by Raditz, claims the Scouter must be malfunctioning, and orders his subordinate to strike down these fools. Raditz, of course, refuses, pointing out that even if it is malfunctioning, he can see how powerful they are, and there's no way he'd win. Vegeta, declaring Raditz a coward, severes the connection, after claiming he and Nappa, another Saiyan, will be there in one year's time, to end Raditz, and his idiot brother, and most of all that mud ball called Earth.

Raditz is left stunned, as he says, even with their power, there's no way to win. Vegeta, even though he's only about ten times as strong as Raditz, has the ability to turn into an Oozaru at will, with a technique developed by Goku's own father. With that in hand, he can grow into a monster, and within moments, simply blow the planet away, which causes him to rush to his pod...only to realize he has nowhere to go.

Luckily for him, the others are, after asking if he's willing to help them, already planning out a year of training. After all, if it will take Vegeta and this Nappa person a year to arrive, then they have time to prepare. Raditz is shocked, simply saying a year won't see gains like what they need, but Bulma assures him, she knows just the way to get them stronger in a flash, while also asking Roshi if he has some ideas.

The gang, including Raditz, then meets at the Lookout, where they find Mr. Popo and Kami tending the gardens, Kami wearing a bright yellow t-shirt, backwards baseball cap, and jeans with a hole in one knee. Popo says it's 'what all the youth are wearing these days', explaining the absurd look the green man is sporting, but then Roshi just shrugs, saying you get used to it, as Kami himself smirks, obviously in on the joke, and enjoying it.

Still, after that gag, the group settles in with Roshi, and they start planning. They need a lot of power, fast, that means intense training, with Limiters, but also new techniques couldn't hurt. As such he's been in contact with someone in Other World(The world of the dead), named King Kai, who is the next step up from Roshi's own position, being the guardian of the entire galaxy.

He supposedly knows everything there is to know about techniques, and has offered one slot for a student, which they soon decide should go to Krillin, as he already knows dozens of techniques, and knowing even more could only help him. Meanwhile, Raditz, Goku, and even Bulla, will train at the Lookout, with Roshi and Bulma helping to increase their gains, while making some themselves.

That decided, Krillin is set off on Snake Way, a million mile long path of stone, floating in yellow clouds of an endless sky, carved to look like a snake. Krillin, knowing time is of the essence, readies himself for the journey, leaving his Limiters behind, and bringing a small bag of Senzu Beans, to make the journey as quick as he can, starting off with enough speed that he creates a backdraft over the entire area, parting the clouds for a moment, revealing the Home for Infinite Losers(Hell) beneath the path.

Back on Earth, Goku and his family start their training, Raditz wondering why they bother with the Limiters, only to see their benefit in a few hours, thanks in part to what he calls Zenkai, a boost of Saiyan strength they get on recovering from a near fatal wound or exhaustion. This leads into questions from Bulma as to why they don't just smash each other to get stronger, but Raditz explains it thus.

The Zenkai is considered a 'cheat' by most Saiyans, but he'd also learned, via trying to do what Bulma suggests in the past, that it has limits. Not only will it not come from self inflicted wounds, for reasons he doesn't understand, as how does a wound know it was from you? But also because it only stretches things so far, after a while it stops working for you, and you have to wait between uses.

That leads Bulma to investigate, using Raditz and Goku as her subjects, and by the time Krillin reaches King Kai's planet, revealing that the higher gravity there is really helping him, she has already come up with some ideas on how to exploit Zenkai, after studying it. This in turn ends with her unveiling her new Limiters, 2.0 if you will, which use the Power Level scale for Release Levels, rather than the original, which was set by the person, and required a lot more tweaking.

She gives a set to Raditz, along with forcing Bulla to promise that she won't tinker with these, as they're new tech, and she doesn't want her daughter to get hurt. Raditz also wonders, as he places his on, why she allows her daughter to participate in training, as she seems to fuss over her a lot more than a Saiyan mother would. Bulla, huffing her cheeks out, reveals that she's her father's daughter as much as her mother's, and she doesn't want to get left behind.

The family time proceeds at a pace for several episodes, including a few where Raditz talks about his life under 'Frieza', the commander of the self-titled Frieza Force, of which the Saiyans are only a part. It is during these discussions that he realizes he never had a home since Planet Vegeta's destruction, or even time off, going from one mission to the next, with Bulla eventually asking if he'd ever gone to an amusement park, and when he answers in the negative, she forces them to take a day off to go to Destiny Land(Seen previously in Dragon Ball during Goku and Bulma's first date arc).

Here, the family, Goku, Bulma, Bulla, and Raditz enjoy a day as normal people, just riding rides and playing games, Raditz, for the first time, really enjoying himself. Eventually leading to him entering a fight with a red haired woman, who identifies herself as Diego, a typically male name in Spanish. Regardless, she is taking on all comers, and after tossing out two larger guys at once, Raditz goes against her.

She wins, though not quite as easily, as Raditz, without Ki, has a base power in the thirties as it turns out, and hers is only in the mid-forties. Still, she does win, Raditz being impressed enough to eventually set up a date with her, especially since she was likewise impressed with him. The result of this is left unseen, though Raditz is obviously smoking a cigarette(Edited out very poorly so it looks like he just has smoke coming from between his fingers), implying the two had an intimate moment.

When training resumes, Raditz is now more focused than ever, and for the next few months, until the halfway point of the Saiyans' arrival, they train hard on the Lookout, with a single episode showing Goku and Bulma meeting with others to ask for aid, only for everyone to turn them down. They want to help, mind, but as Tien points out, Goku is already so far ahead that they'd only get in his way, all done in the form of a clip show, showing Goku winning against each of them.

Luckily, the next episode sees the return of Krillin, in a way familiar to those who know the show, as he literally appears on the Lookout with a whoosh sound effect, his fingers against his forehead. He identifies the technique as Instant Transmission, one he spent the last few months perfecting on King Kai's world, and something he hopes to pass on to everyone else later, though he has a specific technique he wants to train them in.

We get a few flashbacks to his training during the next few episodes, mostly showing him interacting with Bubbles, a monkey that lives with King Kai, as well as the big blue bug man himself, wearing black robes with his symbol(Kanji meaning World King) on the front. He trained under what he says was ten times Earth's normal gravity, some Raditz claims is common, as Earth's gravity is actually pretty light.

Still, he learned a hundred or more techniques in his time...well only about a dozen to any great degree, but he still has the basics down for the others, and will only need time to refine them. For the most part, however, he has one in mind for everyone, King Kai's own technique. The Kaio-Ken, a power amplifying technique that he claims is dangerous, but once they learn it, they can boost to insane levels.

The group dive into training with this new technique, which takes months of concentrated effort, leaving them to fall behind power-wise, but slowly pick up as Krillin learns himself how to 'teach' what he picks up, as well as to perfect it within. The final 'test' comes with them entering a chamber with a swinging pendulum that Roshi uses to 'simulate' a scene from the past where the Saiyans conquered a world.

In a devastated city scape, the four warriors, Bulla included, walk down some rather bleak ruins, Bulla even mentioning the stuff her mother would be interested in when she finds armor and vehicles, only to be blown backwards as two Saiyans emerge, the same two that was fought in the original narrative of Z using the same chamber, and they lord their power over the 'Dragon Team'.

Then they get beat like drums. The two, identified as Po and Tato, prove to be no trouble at all for Goku to fight even on his own, while Krillin and Raditz make short work of them individually, and even Bulla, who is five it should be noted, is able to fight them to a stand still, the pair stated by Roshi to be half as strong as the two incoming, showing that the group is ready for what is coming.

When they are twenty four hours out from Vegeta and Nappa's arrival, Bulma uses a complex rig, more of a control panel, to plot their course, and then hands Goku a device that Raditz identifies as a Landing Zone Signal, which he did not have on his ship when he arrived. Bulma reveals she built it after studying his ship...and dismantling it, something that catches the large haired Saiyan off guard...before he shrugs it off, admitting that the loss of the ship is no big deal.

Bulma, putting her control panel rig into a capsule, then proceeds with the others to a nearby wasteland, perfect for a fight, amid small standing pillars of stone, and large mesa. Here, she places down the signal device, and the group backs away, waiting as it pings, and the clouds lazily roll by. Their eyes scan the heavens, and for just a moment, one might ask, 'are they here yet?' before two spheres come to ground in a huge impact.

Out of two craters climbs a large bald man, and a much shorter, spiky haired one. Nappa and Vegeta had arrived. Bulma, standing behind her console, gives their power levels as five-thousand-twenty-two and fifteen-thousand-eight-hundred-sixty-one respectively, saying that the others have got this...especially since, as she notes, she could technically take Nappa...though only technically.

The bald man seems to take offense at that statement, as he reaches to his hip, placing his scouter on his face, and then reading out their power levels, at first groaning in disappointment, as not one breaks three digits, save the young girl's and her mother's, which he does admit, are impressive at eight and six thousand respectively, more than a match for him, sure, but nothing to Vegeta.

That said, Vegeta remembers that they're using something called Limiters to suppress their power, obviously Raditz is as well, and he demands they turn them off, show the Saiyan Prince their supposed strength, with Raditz, cracking his neck, walking forward, and asking if Nappa has any Saibamen left. These prove to be a sort of 'grown' life form, with green skin, and large claws on hands and feet.

After growing all six of his remaining stock, Nappa backs up, pointing out that six together would be a challenge even for him, let alone for Raditz, who could barely take one a year ago. This time, however, Raditz seems to 'flicker' for a moment, as he stands against all six. Then, one by one, the Saibamen fall over, exploding as they touch the ground, revealing just how powerful Raditz is.

This leaves Nappa trembling, as the others all turn off their Limiters, revealing power levels in the one-hundred-thousand range, at least. Goku actually manages to break two, though only barely, and according to Raditz, this still isn't even the limit of how far they'd come. He offers the pair a chance though, the same chance he'd grabbed with both hands, to join them, and leave the Frieza Force behind, for something better.

Nappa seems about to give in, but Vegeta firmly declares that, as a Saiyan Prince, he wouldn't allow this to stand. They are the last of their race, the four of them, and they should be destroying worlds, conquering people, not...playing native on some backwater! He suddenly blasts at them, only to have Goku and Raditz knock each shot away, surprising him, and angering him even more as he increases the speed of his attacks.

Finally, Nappa grabs him from behind, hooking his arms under Vegeta's shoulders and holding him in a full nelson, telling him it's enough, they aren't winning this fight. Vegeta declares Nappa a fool, and tries to kill him, elbowing him in the gut, and then spinning around, aiming a blast right at him, only for Krillin to 'Instant Transmission' into the way of the blast, and send it skyward, causing Vegeta to scream in frustration.

Nappa seems genuinely shocked at being saved, but Krillin assures him, they don't want to hurt him, if he doesn't want to hurt them, something that causes Vegeta to declare the whole planet needs to die, as he creates a bright flash, blinding everyone. By the time it clears, Vegeta is already in the sky, having created an artificial moon, which causes Raditz to order Goku, Bulla, and even Nappa to leave, before they transform.

It is only now, we see an Oozaru, the Great Ape transformation of the Saiyans, with Nappa revealing that only Royals like Vegeta retain control of themselves in the form, that being 'why' they're the royals in the first place, as that ten times multiplier is pretty hard to beat. Despite that, Krillin seems to be his equal...at least for some of the fight, though every try he makes to cut off Vegeta's tail, the last thing Raditz had told him to do as they left, the larger warrior dodges.

Still, after Krillin is able to not only dodge his counters, but injure him, using Kaio-Ken to constantly boost his own power to above the Saiyans for brief bursts. Vegeta, frustrated, soars into the sky, and charges a mouth blast he claims will blow away the whole planet, Krillin, with a smirk, telling him to bring it on, as he charges up his own technique, hurling it as Vegeta's mouth beam flies, the Destructo Disk sailing up, and then slamming into the beam with a sound like a crack of thunder.

The disk then starts cutting through the attack, small shafts of light falling to the Earth and exploding, but doing only some damage, as the disk works its way back, and then, with a final noise, slashes through Vegeta's body, severing his upper jaw from the rest of his head, and causing him to fall in two pieces towards the Earth below, landing with a crash, very much dead on impact.

A quick blast from Krillin destroys the artificial moon...something he realizes with irritation he probably should have done earlier, weakening Vegeta. Still, the others return, and he gets a nice hug from Bulla, calling him the big hero, as Nappa compliments the little guy, saying he'd always figured Vegeta would come to a bad end, though never quite like this...then his scouter speaks with a voice not his own.

The voice is identified by Raditz as belonging to Zarbon, Frieza's right hand man, who declares that he too knew Vegeta would come to a bad end...but to have deserters on some primitive planet like Ee-arth, as he pronounces it, simply won't do. He informs the two that he's going to see to it Lord Frieza himself is told of their defection, and when he learns of it, oh they'll pay, mmm.

Nappa and Raditz are instantly on edge, even as Goku asks why. They were strong enough to beat Vegeta after all, and Raditz admits, that's a feat, but Frieza? That's a mountain compared to the anthill that was Vegeta. His power level, and worse, the sheer numbers of his army make him impossible to defeat. And yet, as he thinks about it, about the gains he's made, he suddenly starts laughing.

Raditz, walking up to Nappa, declares that three and a half Saiyans, together, could probably do what the whole race together couldn't. Nappa is confused for a moment about this, but when Raditz points out Bulla and her tail, he suddenly looks to Raditz, then at Goku, and then at Bulma, and finally to Bulla again, and suddenly, he's laughing too, finally declaring, well, just a year ago, he was alright with his species fading away to nothing, but if one of them can have a kid here and now, why not see what else they can get away with?

This leads into asking Roshi again with help training, as they have no idea when Frieza and his forces will arrive. Roshi, even with his enhanced 'divine' senses, couldn't say directly, but he does think they have time. A few weeks, maybe months before any forces arrive directly. Still, that isn't much time, and he senses something, a great darkness that cannot be faced by any here, not yet.

Luckily, Roshi does have an idea, and they go to Mr. Popo, asking about the Hyperbolic Time Chamber. Bulma is actually the most intrigued when she learns of what the chamber is, a place where time passes faster. One year within, for one day outside, and she has all kinds of questions for the genie, that he has to admit, he only knows the spells work, not the how of their mechanics.

They can only send two in at a time, revealed to be a limitation not of the chamber itself, but of its storage capacity. Many, many people could shelter within, but there's only a limited space to store food and the like, something Bulma nods at, but says she can think of a way around that problem. Of course, the other thing is healing, as the chamber would prevent them from having more than basic medical supplies inside.

Still, she quickly comes up with a use for the chamber before they even use it themselves, with Roshi revealing that it can only be used for two days in a lifetime, though Mr. Popo corrects him, saying he can alter that, as it was a limitation he put in to prevent overuse of it, given mortals have such short lives, and he hated to see them wasted. He could, in fact, give them all the time they needed, though he admits that would take some time to alter the chamber in that way.

Bulma asks about robots though, and after some discussion on automation and the like, she is given permission to try something. She still has to convince Korin, the cat man/sage living in the tower atop which the Lookout stands to help, but it only takes Bulla using her big eyes routine to get the cat to agree, giving them step by step instructions on raising a crop of Senzu Beans.

A quick setup and test, and Bulma spends three days, with the first crop failing, but the second and third succeeding beyond expectations, leaving them with a bumper crop, which she calculates down to the last bean how long they can spend in the chamber. Not just one or two of them, but all of them. Bulma, Bulla, Goku, Krillin, Raditz, and Nappa. If that place, as suggested, can increase the efficacy of training, combined with her Limiters, and some ideas on gravity training she has, well, Frieza wasn't going to be a problem.

The group enters, the young Bulla excited to spend so much time with her parents, and newest Uncle, as she taken to calling Nappa over the last few days, and within the chamber, we're given a few training sequences, as Krillin teaches Nappa the Kiao-Ken technique, as well as demonstrating some others, including Instant Transmission, which he details how to use as well as possible, though the technique's complexity means none of the Saiyans learn it well.

Several episodes are also dedicated to Bulla and Bulma getting to know Nappa, while the others train together, showing the power difference. Oddly, while they would be frustrated not to be included, he seems okay, and after a while, discussion between the three turns to the history of his race, which Bulma insists her daughter needs to know...especially since she's curious herself, giving Bulla's ability to train with her father and such at her age.

Nappa laughs at that, reminding the pair that Saiyans, even before Frieza, loved to send their babies to smaller, less powerful worlds, and then come back in twenty years to find them either conquered, or completely destroyed, either way being a win for the kid. He himself did it, some lizard race of people he barely remembered. They were barely sapient, discovering, at best, clubs in ten-thousand-years of their history.

Oh they had been decent in a fight, but no ki meant Nappa, even as a child, had been the equal of their best, and he'd been their king of a while...then his people arrived, and they just destroyed them, as they had little use beyond labor, and the Saiyans didn't build things. Heck, their homeworld was one of the most primitive places in the galaxy, most structures built by Frieza, and all their tech was stolen besides.

Bulma asks the obvious question then, how they invaded other worlds, if the tech was stolen, and Nappa reveals the history of the Tuffles. Saiyans were from planet Sadala, a planet in the same system as then planet Plant, where the Tuffles lived. They sent ships to Sadala, and the ancient Saiyans used those to launch an invasion of their world, conquering it, and seizing the much nicer, though still awful, planet.

From there, they conquered many of the surrounding systems, King Vegeta the First, Prince Vegeta's distant ancestor, declaring the planet under his own name, because Ego. Heck, the whole royal line, reaching back generations, took that name, to honor their first, and to basically create the impression to the common folk that those of higher class were damn near immortal.

Bulma, remembering something said, asks about Oozaru transformations, how Vegeta was the only one able to control it. Nappa reveals that it's true, though most Oozaru's still recognize their own. You're still in there, after all, just buried under a whole lotta monkey. But Royal's like Vegeta? They were always in control, and so knew how to fight smart, even in the big monkey form. It's why they were in charge, because something with that much power AND brains? Yeah, pretty much not gonna beat that.

But Frieza's grandfather did. That freak found them some generations ago, as Frieza's race lived a long time, and threatened the whole planet. Then he offered them a job. Enforces his 'Empire's' will. King Vegeta of the time leapt at the chance, especially with the promise of riches and battle. It was all a Saiyan could ask for, wasn't it? And so they became nothing but lapdogs to the tyrant and his line.

And they loved it. There was no denying that. Conquering worlds was what a Saiyan was born to do. They trained their babies in it, and they reveled in their power. Perhaps that was what scared Frieza, how much they enjoyed their work. It was probably why he decided to get rid of them. That information shocks the pair, who remember Raditz saying on coming to Earth that Planet Vegeta had been wiped out by an asteroid.

Nappa laughs, and wonders if he heard that from Vegeta or one of the Frieza Force. He wonders if either believed it...Raditz probably. The guy trusted his comrades. But Nappa figured Vegeta was only telling himself that lie to feel better about working for Frieza, the murderer of his world. After all, why else would all the Saiyan's be on their homeworld, save the Prince, his attendant, a small child assigned to learn from him, and that child's infant brother.

Frieza feared them, feared they were growing stronger, that someday, they'd unlock a legendary power said to sleep within their race, the power of the Super Saiyan. A warrior with unlimited power, unlimited rage, who could crack worlds just by touching down on them, and entire galaxies would vanish when they grew angry. That was the power sleeping within the Saiyan people, or so Frieza must have thought, as each generation grew stronger than the last.

Bulma and Bulla wonder then if they should be sad the Saiyans are gone, or happy. After all, they sound like bad people. Nappa assures them they were. After all, he was one, one of their best, and he doesn't regret his actions at all. He doesn't feel sorry for the countless people he killed. Or betraying that stupid lizard woman who...he actually seems to tear up, just a moment, before slapping himself in the face.

Bulma, however, doesn't allow that to stand unchallenged, and, before he can join the others training, to distract himself, she looks the large bald man directly in the eyes, and tells him that regretting what you did, feeling sorry for one life lost because of your actions, that's the first step on the path of redemption. If he can take that one, there's a long way to go, but it is a path he could walk down.

Nothing more is said beyond that, and the group returns to their training, Nappa throwing himself into it with a vigor he hadn't before, eventually catching up to the others, something he attributes to being a Saiyan, though Goku says is just because he's that motivated, and he should give himself some credit. And so the year inside the chamber passes, and they emerge back out, looking hale and hardy in body...even if their clothing is torn all to heck.

Goku's family quickly gets some things from storage, a few spare jumpsuits, while Krillin brings the two Saiyans to Kami, who Nappa identifies as another alien, a Namekian. Kami, still wearing his 'casual' outfit, brushes it off. He knows nothing of his origins, merely that he awoke in a place on this world, and whatever world he came from, this place was his home.

A moment later, he restores the outfits of the two Saiyans, their armor repairing itself, and when he's done, Krillin nods, before pointing his finger at the ground, and with a single shout, suddenly seven identical copies of each armor are laying on the ground before the two. Krillin sighs, wishing he still had a Senzu, but that giving them more than one copy of the armor would ensure the two stop smelling so bad, which Raditz seems to be offended by, claiming it was his natural musk...but Nappa sniffs himself and makes a face, before going off to clean.

When everyone is back together, Bulma pulls out her control panel, and asks them to wait as she scans them, giving them all their base power levels, meaning at Level Zero release. Goku and Krillin are now in the mid-sixties, with Raditz finally breaking forty himself. Nappa, surprisingly, is almost eighty at base, and he notes he was training long before these whelps were even born, being in his mid-fifties age wise by now, with a few good decades ahead of him yet.

Their power levels, once they go full release prove...unreadable at first, with Bulma's control panel sparking and then smoking, with the two Saiyans from space admitting that that sometimes happens with Scouters when they read something too strong for them. She gets onto them for not warning her, as she quickly repairs the device, installing a 'crap ton' of resistors.

That sorted, and while the control panel does still spark a bit, it gives readings in the millions for everyone...well Bulma's is actually still only at twenty-five-thousand range, and Bulla's is eight-hundred-thousand, but the three Saiyan's and Krillin are all multiples of million, with Krillin being the weakest at one and a half million, while Nappa is closer to two, and the brothers are a little over three.

Krillin assures them that's Saiyan biology at work, and he's still got them beat where it counts...mostly in Kaio-Ken levels, as the best any of them can still do is three, at least sustained. Meanwhile he's up to twenty, though when he starts to power up, Bulma slaps him with an energy blast to the face, telling him to let her power her equipment down before he goes trying to blow it up again.

They then discuss with Mr. Popo about using the chamber for another day, but Bulma says their gains are about as good as they'll get, for now. She needs time to devise a new bit of training. Another year in there would not see them go up by as much, so they allow the genie to start his alterations to allow them to use it as many times as they want, though he warns that this will take the chamber out of play for months.

Bulma feels they're ready though, and Raditz agrees. Nappa is somewhat unsure, but the others convince him that Frieza was strong, sure, but the four warriors...five Bulla insists, will be more than enough to handle anything that that tyrant can bring to bear. For now, they should take a few days and rest up after their year of training, the older Saiyan finally agreeing, especially since he does want to see what this world has to offer.

After this, a few filler episodes show Raditz on a date with Diego, the two even sparring, this time being an even match that ends with the two falling, sweat drenched, onto the mat, and fading out on some...adult fun implying noises. Meanwhile Nappa, with encouragement from Bulla, tries to find a hobby, which leads into showing an interest in gardening, something they help him set up inside a sub building of Capsule Corps. HQ with some trees and flowers.

A month apparently passes, before Roshi summons the group to the Lookout, revealing that five dark forces are approaching the world. Raditz seems confused, but Nappa knows who it is. The Ginyu Force, the most Elite of the Elite. They are special operations types, sent in when Frieza is too busy, or if the mission requires some kind of deniability for whatever reason, and they have never failed.

He notes that Vegeta hated the five, mostly because, thanks to his Oozaru transformation, he was technically stronger than all of them, but they looked down on him regardless. Nappa, having listened to the Prince's rants about them, knows that they're Elite for a reason, each one is from a species with a special trait, one that allows them to convert their ki in a unique way.

Guldo has telekinesis, and supposedly can stop time, though Nappa wonders about that one. Recoome can boost his endurance to positively insane levels, even using that as a power in and of itself. Burter can convert his ki into speed, pure speed, and he claims to be the fastest in the universe. Jeice can more easily create solid ki constructs, including bombs and blades, which allows him to be sub-captain of the team.

Captain Ginyu himself...is unknown. Nappa knows he has tricks, and the guy's power level was supposed to be enough that Vegeta could take him in Oozaru, but not easily. That said, he figures they should take him out the moment he does something weird, because he only knows that the guy has killed people even stronger than himself on more than one occasion, somehow taking out opponents on Frieza's level.

That last makes them nervous, but they go to meet the five head on, going to the spot Roshi says they'll land, a small island in the middle of the ocean, not all that far from Roshi's old home of Kame house actually. Still, it's large enough that, when the five pods land, there's still an island there, with craters to be fair, that the five warriors step out of, and face down their opponents.

The Dragon Team, with Krillin in the lead, asks them what they're doing here, though he can guess. Ginyu, actually being rather polite, bows to the smaller bald man, the purple alien telling him they're here to deal with traitors to their master, and, if time allows, to conquer this world. Krillin tells the five they're not welcome here, and they should really leave, now, if they don't want to get hurt.

The Ginyu Force gets a good laugh at that, but then when Jeice pulls up his scouter, the red skinned, white haired alien is shocked at the device explodes on his face, leaving him with a burn mark that he rubs, declaring to his horror that the one before them is over one-million. That seems to take the group more than a bit aback, but Ginyu declares that he's faced stronger, and he'll win this easily.

Krillin reiterates, he'll let them leave, now. Or, if they want, they can join the team. He knows Frieza is a tyrant, and a horrid person, a world conqueror. He bets Frieza even conquered their worlds too, something Jeice confirms, sounding a bit angry, but then straightening up when Ginyu glares at him, who does indeed state that all of them are from world Frieza has in his empire, conquered by the father of the tyrant, one King Cold.

They couldn't be happier to be members of this elite force, however, and they will be doing their duty today. He orders Burter to take out the woman first, pegging her as the weakest, and Burter, with a smile on his blue reptilian face, says with pleasure, suddenly vanishing, moving, as Raditz had suggested, far faster than his power level should allow, and getting right into Bulma's face, his hand glowing with power. This attack would be enough to blow her head off he claims.

Before he can fire, however, Bulla headbutts him, hard enough that the armor he's wearing cracks, and the lizard alien is tossed to the side, slamming into some rocks and twitching a bit. When he pulls himself up, bleeding from the wound in his side, he declares hatred for the little girl, and powers towards her, only to get a punch to the jaw, jerking his head back with a snap.

He is then left on the ground, this time, not even twitching. Though still breathing. Ginyu, looking down at him, asks if he's dead, but Jeice runs up to him, and quickly places a hand on him, running it over his body, and claims his spine is broken, in several places. They need to get him into a healing pod, otherwise he'll never walk again, but Ginyu just scoffs, and aims a hand at him.

Jeice, looking quite put out, jumps away in time to avoid being blasted by the Captains' attack, saying that someone so easily slain doesn't deserve to be in his Force, though he does say they'll make a memorial for him when they get back to Frieza Planet 79. It still leaves Jeice shaking, only to notice that Guldo isn't in the line-up, and he's spotted re-entering his pod, Ginyu asking him what he thinks he's doing.

The green, four-eyed alien claims he's going to rush back to base to bring some reinforcements, which prompts Recoome to ask, 'we have reinforcements?' Ginyu, staring at him, sighes and rubs the bridge of his nose, before making a shooing gesture, allowing the tiny one to climb back into his pod, which starts to fly off, only for Ginyu to shoot eye beams at it, blasting the thing into nothing but a smoking wreck in the sky.

So hard to find good help these days, eh? He asks with a jovial tone, as he orders Jeice and Recoome to get into position, as he'll be ending this himself, but before he can, Jeice asks if that, 'joining the Saiyans' option is still on the table. Krillin responds in the affirmative, and Jeice quickly opts out of the Force, considering his best friend just died, and hell, he never liked being under Frieza's thumb anyway.

Ginyu, annoyed with this defection, right in front of him no less, declares that he'll end Jeice now, as he claims the power of his enemy for himself. He doesn't get the chance, however, as he injures himself, slamming a hand into his torso, only to be surprised as Nappa and Raditz surge forward, the two Saiyans giving him no chance at all to use whatever trick he was going to try(A body swapping technique, actually).

Instead, he is blasted off his feet by Raditz...who's shot vaporizes his legs, before Nappa smashes him into the air, and then fires a mouth blast into him, killing the leader of the Ginyu force at a stroke, and leaving Jeice just staring in awe at their power, proclaiming they never stood a chance, while Recoome just stares at the falling bits of his Captain, then at the rest of his squad around him...and then starts laughing.

Jeice, concerned, asks if he's going to give up too, but Recoome declares very much the opposite. While he doesn't begrudge Jeice his life, he does have his reputation as a fighter to think about. But still, if he's going to go down today, he might as well go down with all the power he's got. He then bites the end of his thumb, hard enough to draw blood from it, the red liquid then used to smear along his orange hair.

Recoome, looking almost human actually, slowly changes as the smear of red in his hair seems to spread, the hair itself going from a light orange color, to one that seemed to mix the red with it, growing a shade darker, as he closes his eyes, and then opens them, revealing they'd gone completely yellow. At the same time, his skin begins to change, starting from his eyes and spreading rapidly, the white pigment turning into a deep, deep blue color.

When the transformation is complete, Recoome just stands there, and smiles at the group, saying nothing, before finally getting into a runner's stance, both arms touching the ground. They seem curious, and allow him to then shoot towards them, the speed he displays actually rather slow in comparison to what we're used to, but when he punches the ground where they'd been, the impact is significant.

A crater, Bulma claims to be half a kilometer wide, is created, and the group is actually thrown backwards by the concussive force, tossing Bulla and Bulma into the distance, even as Recoome climbs into the sky, now laughing, his jaw seemingly set into a rictus grin. Raditz, the first to try and fight him, finds the impact of his fist, even as he's surrounded by the Kaio-Ken's telltale magenta aura, does absolutely nothing.

Well, nothing to Recoome. The impact parts the clouds around them, and is a visible wave of force, showing just how strong the final Ginyu Force member is, Jeice commenting as he watches that he'd never seen Recoome do this before. He'd always mentioned he had 'something special' for his final fight, but this? This was insane to watch, as Raditz kept trying to hit him, and gained not a sound from the other warrior.

Finally, Recoome elbows him in the head, dodging one of the punches and allowing him to sail in front of him, before smashing into Raditz with enough force that the Saiyan is sent to the ground, landing in a heap of limbs and hair, as he slowly picks himself up, and just stares, commenting on how much that hurt, and why it really shouldn't have, only to watch as the human, Krillin, tries his hand.

Krillin's attack is two Destructo Disks, aimed so they'll strike him down the middle, vertically and horizontally, quartering the big man, who just lets the attacks come, even seeming to open his arms as if to embrace them. They do hit, right on, but everyone is shocked as Recoome seems to enjoy the attacks, which finally shatter against his skin, doing little more than shaving a few hairs off his head.

Then he moves, faster than before, getting right behind Krillin, and smashing into him as well. The smaller warrior dodges a few hits, even getting a couple in of his own, but soon Recoome's larger arms swing wide, and smash into Krillin's side, sending him spinning away, stopped from hitting the Earth like Raditz had only because Nappa catches him, leaving everyone staring at the still smiling Recoome.

It's then that Bulma cries out, shouting that he's a K-Sink. His whole body absorbs kinetic energy. It's why he suddenly moves so fast when they hit him. But he can't store it for long, otherwise he'd keep some, and fight more actively. That does, however, leave them in a bind, as they can't hit him without adding to his power, but he still has more than enough to devastate the area.

Goku tells the others to back up, that he has an idea, and getting Recoome to turn to him, he starts charging an attack, his fist starting to glow, then growing brighter, and brighter, until it literally makes the sun get dim in comparison, before he cries out, Kiao-Ken times Twenty, the magenta aura exploding all around him as he surges forward, with a shout of Dragon Fist, his whole arm turns golden as he dashes right into Recoome.

A flash, and suddenly Goku is floating behind Recoome, who is just sort of frozen still, until there's a noise like breaking bones, his head starting to twist, until the grin finally breaks a little, the jaw moving down, but the smile never leaving his lips as he tells the Saiyan, 'nice move'. An instant later, a crack forms in his side, one that soon spreads through his body, and then he explodes like a bomb in the air.

As pieces of Recoome fall from the sky, Goku, his arm hanging limp and very much broken, falls with them, caught not by the rest of the team, but instead by Jeice, who as gently as he can, lowers him to the ground. He notices his injuries, and suggests getting him to a healing pod, but Bulma pulls out a Senzu Bean instead, and Jeice gets to watch as the arm knits itself back together.

That leaves them with what to do with the red, aussie accented, alien, but Bulla insists, 'he surrendered', so they have to give him a chance. Nappa, unlike Raditz, actually sees the point, and welcomes him to the family, and the Ginyu arc closes on an ominous shot of Frieza's silhouette over the planet Earth, holding it between his hands, like he plans on crushing it to rubble.

Luckily, they do have a few episodes to settle in, saying that almost five months pass between the Ginyu's arrival, and the next arc, as Jeice is helped to settle in, forming a friendship with not only Nappa, but Krillin interestingly enough, the three men quickly trading stories of their various training methods, even as Jeice gains his own set of Limiters, which Bulma is reluctant to give, but Bulla insists.

Once he's equipped like the rest, the gang proceeds to train a bit, Jeice showing off just how strong a skill ki shaping is, as he can make not only weapons, but armor, all of it nearly indestructible if he puts his all into it. Even Goku has a hard time breaking anything he makes, without going Kaio-Ken into the double digits. That said he's still only at two-hundred-thousand, with the others only improving a little, when a vision hits Roshi hard.

They identify it quickly as Frieza, and at first Jeice wants to run, but the others are quite sure they can take Frieza. He's only about five times Ginyu's strength, right? Jeice, who had never been asked, reveals that Frieza can transform, a fact that they realize themselves, as he comes down from space, and his power suddenly surges, a wave of force from his ship literally seeming to create a hole in the sky, through which a clear blue day becomes a starry night.

As his ship finally touches down, the defectors are surprised that it appears to be a one seater, with Frieza himself mentioning that he felt it best to deal with their little insurrection in private, as he finally emerges and...neither Nappa nor Raditz recognizes him. That is, of course, because he's already in his final form, having used his on board sensor to read their power levels from orbit, and determining that it would be appropriate.

The alien tyrant, landing in West City, calls the surrounding buildings a 'hive' and a most distasteful one at that, but he knows a way to deal with it, and is ready to destroy it, only for the group to offer to fight him, outside the city. He chuckles at this, reminding them that, once he's dealt with them, this whole world will need to die, as he can't have it corrupting anyone else in his forces, as it seems to have done for them.

Still, he allows it, letting them lead him into the ocean, and then north, until they come to a few ice flows. Bulma, who had come along, complains about the cold, but Frieza merely comments it's still above the temperature of his homeworld, which is a breezy -291C at most times. Bulma points out that that's below absolute zero, and Frieza agrees, but elaborates no farther as they land on one of the larger icebergs.

Frieza, 'generously' allows the monkeys(and Jeice) to hit him first, as he's not quite sure how strong they are, and needs to gauge them. Goku, deciding to end this quickly, is the one to go up to him, and with a surge of Kaio-Ken times ten, he strikes at the tyrant, with enough power that it parts the seas, and sends Frieza flying, slamming him hard into one of the other icebergs and cracking it down the middle.

It, however, doesn't seem to have done a lot of damage. Oh, it injured him, you can even see the imprint of Goku's fist on his cheek before he rubs it and it fades. But Frieza himself appears to have little in the way of injury as he flies back up to Goku, and compliments him. If he weren't about to kill the monkey, to be rid of the Saiyans, he'd most certainly offer him a place at his side, before he smashes him with his tail, sending Goku flying this time.

However, he doesn't hit an iceberg, instead Frieza seems to teleport, moving so fast he vanishes, before appearing behind Goku, and then sending him skyward with a kick, before blasting him in the back a few times with a finger beam, causing the jumpsuit he's wearing to be torn down to nothing but tatters on his chest, leaving him with just pants.

Krillin leaps in to save Goku, using his higher level of Kaio-Ken to match his friend's power, only for Frieza to handle him just as easily, at least until the others get involved, even Jeice. Their numbers, mixed with only being slightly weaker than Frieza at their best boosts, allows them to actually start gaining on the tyrant, who even begins to become annoyed with them, before finally getting some room with a massive swing of his tail.

The moment he's got them back, and they surge forward again, he smirks, and suddenly holds out his hand, as if to attack. Instead, however, little needles of ki fly from his palm, burying themselves in the skins of his opponents, and suddenly they itch. Not a lot, but the tiny pinpricks are distracting enough that even Krillin can't seem to maintain Kaio-Ken for more than an instant, which Frieza points out to them.

He's faced this sort of technique more than once in the past. Someone boosting their power? Of course fools have tried that before. But unlike his transformation, which is a controlled thing, such techniques require concentration. A simple application of a distraction and, poof, no more power boost. He then proceeds to beat all of them, laying them out one by one and slamming them into the ground.

Frieza then goes to each one of them, listing off the reasons they'd failed him. Goku had been meant to take this little world, at the edge of his empire, and show just how pathetic it was that his grandfather had told them not to come here for some reason. His minions Raditz and Nappa? Why, he'd expected the Prince to rebel, and maybe even drag them along with him, but to have them do it all on their own, it was just disappointing. Hadn't he been a good master to them, all these years?

And Jeice. His father's elite minion, one of the few such forces he'd allowed to continue when he'd taken the reins. It was such a pathetic sight to see him rebelling, but Jeice lays out, pretty hard, that father's, King Cold, and he, were nothing but tyrants, and he never should have agreed to this. He'd probably have wound up joining the Galactic Patrol, if it had existed when he was younger, and he rejects the things he'd done under their orders.

Jeice, forming a sword in one hand, and a shield in the other, tries to fight Frieza on the ground, the blade proving capable of cutting him, and the shield able to block a blow from him. But only one, as Frieza's speed sees him able to just move to the side, and smash Jeice with his tail, sending him flying into a mountain of ice, before he aims a shot directly at the former minion, to 'put him out of my misery' as he says.

Bulla, who had not been involved in the earlier fight, suddenly blocks the shot, knocking it aside, and proving she still had Kaio-Ken, as Frieza hadn't 'needled' her, as she surges forward, and tries to fight him. Strangely, she seems able to match the alien, if only for a moment, even slapping him with her own tail, and then knocking Frieza to the ground with a blast from above, keeping him down with a continuous stream of shots.

The moment lasts just that, a moment, as Bulla eventually exhausts herself, breathing hard as she finally lowers to the ground, and Frieza, buried in chunks of ice, pulls himself up, looking quite angry as he gets to his feet, and dusts off, pointing a finger at Bulla, who glares at him as he tells the girl not to get involved in fights that are beyond her, even as he moves to end her.

Bulma is the savior this time, getting between the two, and then firing...everything. She blasts out with not just ki, but electricity, fire, water, and even some chunks of ice that form from her shots, the sheer variety of attacks forcing Frieza back, before she runs up to him, and as she had with King Piccolo, releases everything she has, right into his face, his head vanishing for a moment in the attack.

When the light clears, Frieza is very much not amused now, one of his eyes shut against the damage it had sustained, and his mouth pulled back into a grimace, as he places a hand right on Bulma's chest, seeming to catch her as she falls forward due to exhaustion...then blowing a hole right through her with a single shot, which flies into the sky, as Bulma screams out, only to gargle as blood begins coming from her mouth.

Frieza drops her to the ice, letting a small flow of blood come onto it, coloring it beneath her, but the hole in her chest is censored, looking like just a red spot in her middle, as Frieza stands over her body, and places his foot on her head, as the last of her breath comes out in two words. 'Bulla' and 'Goku', are the last thing she says before her eyes glaze over, and Bulma goes still.

The gang goes dead silent, as they stare, and Frieza gloats a bit, pointing out that if he had known they'd shut up if he killed the woman, he'd have done it sooner. But then he feels something, a static to the air that causes him to turn, and then go wide eyed, as golden flecks of light start coming off the girl he'd been fighting a moment before, her body shivering with power as she stands up, and then opens her eyes, revealing they've gone blue.

Frieza, of course, tries to shoot her then and there, but his blast is deflected by the sheer power coming off Bulla's aura, the beam going off course, and detonating, giving Bulla a nice background of a mushroom cloud behind her, as she lifts her head to the heavens, and lets out a primal scream of absolute rage, while golden light surges over her entire body, consuming her, and turning her hair, on her head and tail, the same color. Nappa, Raditz, and Frieza himself whisper the words 'Super Saiyan' while staring at her.

When she's finished, she stands there, and the others...except Jeice who still hadn't learned how, start trembling, feeling the weight of her power as it slams into their senses. Frieza, who also can't sense that, merely feels it by proximity, calls her cute for thinking she can challenge him, and then raises his hand, and fires again, this blast far more powerful, and it actually seems to wash over Bulla.

She then moves through the energy of the attack, actually emerging from it like it was water, and punching Frieza so hard that he's sent flying. Only for Bulla to get behind him, and then the same way he'd done to Goku during their match, he was smashed into the air, and shot, several times by blasts, leaving him to land, his body smoking, but still very much alive as he pulled himself, painfully, into a standing position.

Bulla, her eyes still cold, orders Frieza to leave, that the tyrant can't win, won't ever win, not while she's here to protect everyone she loves, and she's giving him one chance to live through this. To run away, and never return. Frieza, seemingly confused, then grits his teeth in anger, declaring a child, no matter if they're a saiyan or human or whatever, will not be giving him orders!

With a cry of his own, Frieza's power swells, and suddenly he bulks up, his power increasing substantially. Bulla is able to dodge the first downward punch, which lands right in front of her, but the shockwave from it, as it cracks the glacier she was on, is enough to send her flying, and before she can recover, Frieza is suddenly on her, grabbing her by her head, and starting to crush it in his grip as she struggles and screams.

Then Goku is there. In the background of a few shots, you could see him go through the same Super Saiyan transformation as his daughter, but he'd allowed her to get some hits in for her mother. However, it's daddy's turn now, and he begins by literally grabbing the arm holding her, and then tears it off, without so much as a struggle, literally ripping the arm from its socket, and leaving Frieza crying out in agony.

Pulling his daughter free as the tyrant squirms in the air, she smiles at her father, telling him to go get this guy, even as she passes out from exhaustion, and he floats back down, handing her off to Raditz, and instructing everyone to head to the Lookout, with Bulma's body. He'll be done here shortly. The one armed Frieza seems to think it's done as well, as he charges a blast, and aims it right at the planet.

A blast Goku catches, and then dispels with a simply motion of his hand, the tyrant now quaking, as the Saiyan rises, and then, without another word, even as Frieza begs, he beats on him, landing blow after blow on the alien, until finally, with a cry, he spins him around his head by his tail, and flings him into the air, his body flipping end over end, as Goku charges a Kamehameha, and fires it at him.

Frieza dies with one last agonizing scream, as the blast vaporizes his body, and leaves nothing but a few bits of ash to fall from the sky from where he'd been. Goku, staring at that, nods, and says to himself that the offer had been made to just let him leave, and Frieza had refused. He then slowly rises into the air, and then powers down from his Super Saiyan state, and flies off after the others.

When he finally arrives on the Lookout, a Senzu Bean, courtesy of Korin himself, was waiting for him, and Bulla was already on her feet after having one herself. Unfortunately, the beans couldn't heal her mother, but she is only somewhat crying, as Mr. Popo was already getting the Dragon Balls from where he'd hidden the things, the orbs shimmering as they summon Shenron to bring her back.

Of course, Bulla, just before they make the wish, asks to be allowed to make it herself, and the others allow it, as she wishes, not just for Bulma, but for all the peoples, places, and planets destroyed by Frieza and his minions to be restored. Shenron admits this is beyond his power, as he can only bring back those who died a year ago, and so much had been lost that it will be a strain...but he agrees to try, and lets out a roar.

Bolts of light fly into the sky, a rain of them coming from Shenron's body, that then filters into the sky, and as the viewer watches, each one seems to find a spot in the heavens without a star, and bring them back, blooming the worlds to life again. For some, it's entire peoples rising up, looking around shocked, for others, it is just the plants and animals restored, to grow again into new people perhaps, but at least allowed that chance.

Finally, one last star comes down, and it falls onto Bulma's body, which glows golden for just a moment, before she's sitting up, and looking quite tired, only for a teary eyed Bulla to tackle her, and then Goku to hug both to him, the girl looking up to the dragon and thanking him for everything, and the dragon giving an honest chuckle, saying she had a good heart, and to keep it so long as she could, before he vanishes, the balls scattering once more.

From there, the gang, now convinced that the threat is over, celebrates, Jeice offering to take them to a bar he found in a nearby town when exploring, being informed Bulla is far too young for that sort of place, though Nappa and Raditz are both interested...as is Roshi until Kami reminds him he's not allowed to do those sorts of things as Guardian of Earth, which leaves him groaning.

Krillin offers to stay with the old master for a while, as the Brief's family heads back home, telling Bulma's parents all about what happened, and then whiling away the evening in laughter. While at the same time, a dark shadow seems to come over the Earth, two figures in silhouette, looking menacing, as the narrator promises that the adventure is only over for now, and to tune into the next arc of Dragon Ball Z, To There and Back Again.
