1977. Luke is 21, Daisy 20, and Bo 19. istilldontownthedukesofhazzard. picking right up after the last chapter. accept it's the night now. I skipped thru the whole day.

Luke'd been looking after Bo all day, an' he was ready for a good nights sleep. He knew he wasn't going to get one though, because he was gonna have to continue taking care of him all night. He didn't mind looking after Bo, but he also needed sleep.

Anyhow, Luke'd set Bo up for the night an' turned out the lights. He burrowed deep into his beddings and let out a deep breath. Now it was time to sleep: until Bo woke him up that is.

Both of the boys slept for four hours, relatively peacefully, until Bo began thrashing about, moaning and mumbling. Since Luke was so tired, he slept right through it, until Bo thudded on to the floor that is.

"I-I'm sorry...I'm so damn sorry..." Bo muttered.

Luke turned on the lights and dropped to his knees on the floor next to Bo, who was all tangled up in his blankets, sobbing feverishly.

"Hey, you're okay..." Luke began untangling him and pulling him into his lap.

"I'm sorry, Luke... I never meant ta do it..." Bo grabbed Luke around his middle and pulled himself close to him.

"You didn't do nothin' wrong, cuz." Luke assured him.

"I-I killed ya..." Bo gave into the sobs again.

"Oh, Bo, cousin, you didn't do nothin' like that." Luke began rubbing his back.

"It was an accident, I swear..." Bo mewled. Then he turned to his side and gave into a coughing fit.

Luke didn't know why Bo could possibly think that he'd killed him, but he also knew that there wasn't anyway way of talking him out of it until his fever came down.

"I-I wanted to tell ya how sorry I am so, I j-jumped off Eagle Point..." Bo recovered from the coughs and continued on in his feverish dream.

"Aw, Bo..." Luke hugged Bo's head close to his chest and let him cry. Luke decided that he'd never tell Bo about this, there was no need to embarrass him. Bo hated crying in front of people, even Luke.

Bo cried for several minutes, until it died down to coughs and gasps. Luke picked him up and put him back in bed, propping him up with an extra pillow.

"You lay here, an' I'm gonna go get somethin' to make ya feel better." Luke patted his arm.

Bo didn't understand what was happening. Weren't they both dead? There were no tears in heaven, right? He also knew he wasn't s'posed to feel pain in heaven, and if what he felt wasn't pain he didn't know what it was, but it hurt bad. Also, heaven looked a whole lot like his an' Luke's bedroom... He decided not to think about it: he was exhausted and it hurt to even breathe so, he decided to let sleep win him over.

Luke returned with a cold bowl of water and towels to find a sleeping Bo. He set the bowl on the table and pulled all of the blankets away from Bo. Then he wet and wrung out a towel to cool Bo's face with.

Bo turned his face away from the cold water and instinctively tried to pull a blanket around himself, but there was no blanket. Luke took him by the shoulders and turned him back to face him again, resuming the wet towel treatment.

"sick again?" Bo mumbled, not even bothering to open his eyes.

"Yeah, you're sick somthin' awful." Luke kept his voice low.

"hmmm." Bo licked his dry lips.

Bo began to shiver as goosebumps covered his arms. "kinda cold..." he turned to his side slightly, still searching for his blankets.

"I know." Luke set the towel aside and picked up the thermometer. Bo's fever'd come down greatly since before they'd gone to bed, when it was 103, now it was 101.3.

"Here." Luke pulled the blankets up off the floor and covered Bo over with them. Bo curled into them and got as comfortable as he could.

Luke pulled the blankets away from Bo's face so they didn't block his airways.

"had a real bad dream..." Bo mumbled as he began falling asleep.

"What's that?" Luke asked.

"cain't member..." Bo was almost asleep now.

Luke wrapped an arm around his shoulders. "Wake me up if ya need anythin'." Luke whispered right in his ear so he could hear him.

Bo didn't know what'd happened, or what year it was for that matter, he hurt everywhere, he felt the miserable malaise of a fever, but Luke was takin' care of him so he knew he'd be jus' fine so, he let himself fall asleep.
