Many years had passed since the incident with Quartzmon, the twisted Digimon who sought to bend the Digi-Quartz, the Digital World and the Real World into a single and nightmarish domain which reflected the wickedness in his being, where the various Digi-heroes and heroines from multiple worlds and timelines were brought together so they could put a stop to Quartzmon's madness.
Although the battle was a success, the evil of Quartzmon vanquished and his data reconstructed into a harmless Digi-Egg, the various groups of humans and Digimon were sent back to their own realities and respective timelines to avoid any unforeseen time paradoxes or issues.
To ensure the safety of the universes, all but those who held a close bond with the Fusion Digimon Hunters had their memories erased of the events, with Tagiru, Gumdramon and the others amongst their circle of friends to remember their united adventure.
Since then, the Old Clock Shop Man, along with those who governed or watched over the other four Digital Worlds, realized the positive and growing benefits of having the Digidestined, the Digimon Tamers, Legendary Warriors, DATS and the Fusion Fighters working side by side, and the benefits that could occur if their worlds grew united and all worked as one.
Thus, working together and using their great powers, those who governed the five Digital Worlds merged the separate Digital Worlds into one massive Digital World, the fusion not only bringing the Digimon of their realities together, but this also reunited the heroes and heroines once again.
With the Digital Worlds merged and various Digi-heroes and heroines reunited and brought together as a single team, those who underwent the original memory erasing process had the procedure reversed and allowed a great bond to form amongst the Digidestined, the Digimon Tamers, Legendary Warriors, DATS and the Fusion Fighters.
However, with a new and larger Digital World, problems were bound to emerge, this ranged from wild and feral Digimon causing trouble to egomaniacal Digimon such the Demon Lords causing their own problems in their own attempts to conquer the new world themselves, this causing the five groups of Digi-heroes and heroines to band together and to become a unified force against those who would threaten the new Digital World and their own realities.
Likewise, the number of newer Digidestined and Tamers began to grow, dividing the team's attention between helping the newcomers and battling the unyielding forces which threatened the Digital World.
Thankfully, the heroes and heroines had help, and between the resources and technology provided through Hypnos and DATS, who contacted various agencies within the other realities and the Digital World, a new force was born in the new world, the Digital Defense Force, or DDF for short.
Sponsored by various world governments, the DDF existed as a unified front for the Digi-heroes and any newcomers to the Digital World, giving them the resources and base of operation to protect the Digital World from any threat, working together to bring a bright future to both Digimon and humans alike.
Currently, the majority of the Digidestined were within the confines of the Odaiba Airport, the group holding a variety of mixed emotions for their presence.
Thanks to his greatly improved grades, his determination and his desire to follow his dreams through, the Digidestined of Miracles, Davis Motomiya, had been accepted to one of the world's top culinary schools, a step in the right direction so the maroon haired Digidestined could open his world famous noodle cart business within his future.
However, the school was located in the United States, which meant that to attend classes, Davis would have to leave Odaiba and move overseas, a somewhat bittersweet thought to the Digidestined of Miracles and his friends.
"You better call and write and text us all the time, you dummy!" Yolei declared with a fair seriousness in her voice, which didn't reflect her actions as she wrapped her arms around Davis and gave him a sincere hug.
Embracing Davis, Yolei tried her hardest so her emotions wouldn't get the better of her as the Digidestined of Love and Sincerity continued to tear up, the friendship they had developed left a small smile upon Davis' face.
"It's alright, Yolei, we will still see each other in the Digital World." Davis said assuredly in reply as he lightly rubbed the purple haired girl's back.
Continuing to say his goodbyes, Davis made a mental note for himself, to contact Veemon once he got settled in his new place so his partner could come over via a gate through the Digital World.
"Still… it won't be the same without you with us every day." Cody then said with a hint of sadness in his tone, the youngest amongst the Digidestined sharing in the solemn atmosphere and how a friend he had grown to cherish and respect so much was now leaving them, even if they would see him again whenever they went to the Digital World.
Still smiling, Davis reached over and placed a hand on Cody's shoulder, comforting the youngest of the Digidestined, the time spent as Ken tried to pry Yolei away from the maroon haired Digidestined.
Finally separating the emotional Yolei away from Davis, this allowed one of the other girls, Mimi Tachikawa, to approach Davis with her own smile and to show her own warmth.
"Now, as someone who has done this kind of flight plenty of times, I can tell you it can get long and boring. So, I put together a mixed CD for you to listen to and pass the time!" The pink haired Digidestined said with a fair enthusiasm in her voice as she handed Davis the CD case.
Despite the kindness Mimi had expressed, Davis sweatdropped a little as he realized he had no way of listening to the CD, but kept a smile toward the pink haired girl's sweet gesture.
"Thanks Mimi." Davis said in reply, before Matt, Joe, Izzy and TK all moved to talk to Davis.
Chatting amongst the boys, the Digidestined of Love, Sora Takenouchi seemed preoccupied as she continued to look over and to check her cell phone as if expecting a text or a call.
Looking around briefly at the group of friends he had made over his years as a Digidestined, minus the Digimon themselves, Davis lost some of his cheer, not only to see his mentor and idol, Tai Kamiya wasn't present to see him off, but to also see the absence of the most important person in his life, the Digidestined of Light, Kari Kamiya.
While his friends believed the maroon haired Digidestined's feelings for their brunette friend was merely a crush, unbeknownst to them, Davis' feelings for Kari ran much, much deeper.
When he was only six, Davis' family moved to Odaiba, uprooting the young maroon haired boy from the world he knew and placing him in one unfamiliar to him.
His parents weren't home too often as their new jobs continued to block their schedules with their children, and Davis' older sister, Jun had quickly made friends, which left Davis alone a lot of the time, leaving him feeling alone and out of place in the world.
However, that all changed one fateful day when the young maroon haired boy went to the nearby park, sitting under a tree and lost in thought, before a soccer ball came rolling up to him, where he then heard an angelic voice ask for the ball and to see a face he would never forget.
It was at that moment that the young Davis Motomiya met Kari Kamiya, whose gentle smile was more than enough to lift him from his depression and into the light.
Even though he didn't understand the meaning of the word back then, Davis knew he had fallen in love with Kari, and the pair quickly became good friends, with the young Kamiya introducing him to her older brother, Tai, and to Sora.
And seeing the way Kari idolized her brother, Davis took after Tai, mimicking him in the hopes that he would always remain close to his shining light.
In the years that followed, Davis and Kari were nearly inseparable, the pair spending almost every day they could together, with Davis even coming over to visit Kari and take care of her when Tai went to the summer camp, always feeling whole when she smiled at him.
However, after that fateful day, after Myotismon's invasion of Odaiba, things changed for Davis, with Kari speaking less and less to him, while Tai and Sora too seemed to distance themselves from him.
For a time, Davis wondered if he had done something wrong, if he had somehow upset the one close to his heart and those close to her, before feeling shocked and somewhat disturbed when he met TK and saw how close he and Kari were.
Upon entering the Digital World for the first time and becoming a Digidestined, however, Davis realized that Kari, Tai and Sora were keeping their distance from him in order to not reveal the secret of the Digimon to him, relieving Davis to know that Kari wasn't mad at him and wanted him out of her life.
However, as time went on, Davis continued to see how close Kari and TK were becoming, which slowly tore at his heart to see the girl he loved so close to another, and in response, Davis acted in the way he figured Tai would respond, hoping to get Kari's attention back.
That backfired spectacularly on him, however, with even Kari seemingly seeing him as an immature brat, while many within the Digidestined circle began to praise and comment on how perfect a couple she and TK were, forcing Davis to eventually give up in trying to win Kari back, despite how much it hurt.
It was one of the reasons he decided to leave, not only to further his culinary skills, but to also give him some time away from Kari, to let himself move on and to accept that while she would always have that same smile, it would never be for him ever again.
After Izzy, Joe and Matt moved aside, TK took his turn to speak.
Taking Davis' hand in a firm handshake, both Digidestined smiled respectively toward one another, with no words needed to express the friendship and the respect they had developed between one another.
Despite their arguments in the past, Davis never truly hated the Digidestined of Hope and held a great respect for him, and knew, despite the heartache, that Kari would be in safe hands with the blond Digidestined.
"TK, promise me you'll take care of her." Davis said to TK, who smiled lightly and nodded his head in reply, though even the Digidestined of Hope didn't exactly know what his relationship with Kari really was himself.
"I promise." TK said in reply, this causing Davis to smile, before the airport intercoms called out that his flight was now boarding and that he had to leave behind his old life.
Unbeknownst to Davis, however, Sora silently cursed to herself when she heard the announcement.
Putting on a fake smile as she went to see Davis off, Sora gave the maroon haired Digidestined an endearing hug as Davis said his goodbyes and left his friends for his flight.
Taking one last look back before entering the terminal, Davis held a soft smile as he thought solemnly. 'Goodbye, Kari...'
.
.
.
"He better text us all when he gets there." Yolei said with a huff as the group of Digidestined walked towards the exit of the terminal and toward the parking lot.
Remaining supportive, Ken rubbed Yolei's back and told his girlfriend reassuringly. "He will, just let him get settled first before we start planning vacations."
As the rest of the group were about to chime in, the Digidestined then noticed a figure rushing towards them, a certain brown haired Digidestined of Light, who quickly came to a halt before them.
Placing her hands on her knees as she panted heavily, seemingly out of breath, it was evident that the brown haired girl had gone through a fair amount of trouble to get to the airport.
"Kari, where were you?!" Sora asked with a mix of concern and frustration as she moved to the brunette's side.
Remaining with her confusion, Sora had sent multiple texts to Kari and to Tai multiple times, to find out where they were and hoped they would arrive in time.
"Stupid... traffic... accident..." Kari said through laboured pants, sweat dripping down her forehead, before the Digidestined of Light looked toward her friends and asked with a fair panic in her voice. "Davis... where is he...?!"
"Kari... the flight already took off..." Mimi said sadly, the pink haired Digidestined, along with the rest of the Digidestined present, concerned by the panic and distress Kari was expressing.
Hearing the bad news, Kari's eyes widened, before she all but collapsed to her knees, the distorted Digidestined of Light bringing her hands to her face as she began to lightly cry, which bewildered and confused the rest of her friends.
Sora, meanwhile, tried to comfort the younger Kamiya, who felt her world falling apart around her.
For Kari, the day she met Davis was possibly the best day of her life, coming close to becoming a Digidestined and gaining Gatomon as her partner.
Back then, Tai and Sora had taken the young Kari to the park, both desiring to have some fun and to include Kari in their games.
As they played a small game of soccer amongst one another, and after the ball went past Kari, who chased after it, the young girl saw the ball stop before a boy her age, who sat underneath a tree and looked a little lonely.
Being the kind hearted person she was to include others and make new friends, Kari then approached the boy and asked him to please hand her back the ball and to see if he wanted to play with them.
And upon Davis lifting his head, his warm eyes meeting her own, Kari knew she had fallen in love, the young Kamiya instantly drawn to Davis, to his smile, and was quick to befriend the young Motomiya.
As the years went on, Kari did whatever she could to spend time with Davis.
Kari felt happy and content in his presence and too found herself falling for her maroon haired friend further and further.
Despite acting like her brother, Kari always knew that it was just an act, the brunette always able to see the real Davis Motomiya behind the goofy persona and to see him as the kind, selfless, caring and determined boy who always brightened her day and made her feel special.
Toward Davis' friendliness, this always left Kari smiling and looking forward to the day she could truly be with the boy of her dreams.
Even when she was sick and Tai was away at summer camp, Davis made sure to come over and to check up on her, to keep her company and take care of her, leaving only a few moments before her brother's brief return, moments she cherished deeply.
And after what they thought was Myotismon's death, when the Digidestined went to check on the rest of Odaiba's residence that the vampiric Digimon had put to sleep, Kari frantically searched for Davis, eventually finding him unconscious along with the rest of the held children, where relief filled the young Kamiya to know he was safe at that time.
However, upon Apocalymon's defeat and their return home, the original Digidestined decided that it was for the best to not speak about the Digital World with anyone that didn't already know about it, a decision that weighed heavily on Kari's mind, knowing that she could not tell her best friend and her love about all she had experienced in the Digital World.
In the years that passed, Kari soon found a large gap formed in her relationship with Davis, finding that in her attempt to not tell him about the Digimon or the Digital World, the brunette saw less and less of the boy she loved and too found she was unable to spend time with him in the event she let her secret slip.
When TK started to attend the same classes as her, Kari found some relief in the idea she could speak about the Digital World to someone else, but found herself with a mix of concern and joy to the jealousy Davis showed, a part of her happy to know that despite her absences, Davis still cared for her.
But when Davis became a Digidestined himself, Kari could barely contain her joy, joy to know she didn't have to keep any secrets from her dream man any longer, to know that Davis would show the world just how amazing he was, especially after he saved her and Tai passed the role of leadership onto him.
The Digidestined of Light even found herself loving Davis' reactions whenever she would tease him with TK, finding it endearing that his feelings for her had not changed.
This, however, backfired in Kari's mind, where the brunette found herself in a relationship with TK she had not wanted, while her friends and even her own brother saw Davis as nothing more than a delinquent, while pushing her to get closer and closer to TK.
Not wanting to disappoint her big brother or her friends, Kari found herself spending more time with TK, while unfortunately and unintentionally pushing Davis away from her, an action that slowly tore at Kari's heart as she tried to find a way to be with the man she loved while not hurting or upsetting those closest to her.
But when Davis announced that he was leaving Odaiba and Japan entirely, Kari began to crack, eventually leading to her finally letting out her pent up anger and frustration, with Tai and Sora present as she lashed out at the pair, angry at the duo for not seeing where her heart truly belonged.
Realizing their own mistakes and contributions to not only Kari's anguish, but Davis' as well, Tai and Sora first talked Kari out of trying to convince Davis to stay, knowing that these culinary courses were key to his future, and suggested that Kari tell him how she truly felt and what he means to her before his flight, regardless of what the rest of their friends thought, an idea Kari agreed to.
But as Kari received a ride from Tai and the Kamiyas began to make their way to the airport, a major accident caused traffic to be at a standstill for hours, this adding to Kari's growing desperation and too caused Tai to do whatever he could to keep Kari from leaping out of the car and running to the airport.
But to her agony, Kari found that she had arrived too late, that Davis had left without her able to speak to him, the maroon haired Digidestined possibly thinking she didn't care enough to even say goodbye, all of which caused the Digidestined of Light to break down emotionally, not caring as her friends watched her with worry and concern.
"Kari...!" Another frantic voice then called out as TK and the others looked to see an equally winded Tai rush up to the group.
Taking a second to catch his own breath, before looking to see his sister crying, the original Digidestined of Courage looked to Sora, who nodded silently in response to the unanswered question, that they were too late.
Giving a defeated sigh, Tai stood up straight and ran his hands through his hair in frustration, hating himself for letting all of this happen to Kari, while the Digidestined of Love did her best to comfort the younger Kamiya.
"It's alright, Kari. Just call and leave him a message so you can have a proper talk with him." Sora said as she soothingly rubbed Kari's back, telling the brunette with a sincere smile. "Then we can set things up so you can visit him at his place or in the Digital World. Everything's going to be alright."
Calming down slightly, but remaining a little depressed, Kari nodded her head in reply as Sora helped the brunette to her feet, where TK, still unsure on what was going on exactly, moved over to help the Digidestined of Light, holding out his hand as to offer his assistance and to help up his friend.
However, much to the surprise of the Digidestined of Hope and all but Tai and Sora, Kari merely swatted TK's hand away, as though she wanted nothing to do with him, confusing the blond and their friends even more, before Tai wrapped his arms around Kari and began to lead her back to his car, leaving a solemn look upon Sora's face, while the rest of the Digidestined present were left bewildered.
"Um... what just happened there?" Yolei found herself asking for the group, her question causing Sora to sigh as she knew that she would have to explain everything to their friends.
.
.
.
About an hour later, after leaving the airport, the Digidestined, minus the Kamiya siblings and Davis, were all seated at one of the restaurants they usually met at, the majority of the group listening to Sora as she explained Kari and Davis' past prior to their adventures in the Digital World and to the overall feelings that the Digidestined of Light held for Davis, as well as the events that led to the breakdown they had just witnessed, the revelations leaving the group shocked and surprised.
"Wow... I never knew Kari felt that way about Davis, or that they were so close." Joe said in surprise, his sentiment shared by the others residing within the group.
Matt, meanwhile, looked to the first person he was the most concerned about and to see the look of shock on his brother's face.
Expressing his confusion, TK questioned. "Why... why didn't she ever tell me?"
Despite his own feelings for Kari, TK found that he wasn't upset to learn that she was in love with Davis, merely hurt that she never said a word about it.
Giving an understanding smile to the Digidestined of Hope, Sora replied to his question and told him. "She never said anything because she didn't want to hurt you. Kari has always put her friends and Tai before herself, even at the expense of her own happiness. She never wanted us to be disappointed in her."
"Understandable, given how her best friend used to argue with Davis nonstop." Ken then said with a sigh, this causing Yolei to look at her boyfriend with a defensive glare.
"Hey, he used to act like a jerk back then!" The Digidestined of Love and Sincerity said with a pout.
Hating to be reminded of how she used to treat Davis despite their stronger friendship they had gained over the years always left Yolei in a sour mood.
"You know that was all an act, right?" Sora then asked, getting confused looks from Yolei and the others, before the Digidestined of Love explained to her friends. "Davis has always wanted Kari's attention, and who does she idolize the most, her brother, so Davis has always done his best over the years to act as Tai would in the hopes that Kari would feel the same about him, but in reality Davis is a kind, caring and selfless individual."
"I've seen that a few times." Cody then informed, getting everyone's attention as the youngest in the group continued his explanation. "A few times before we would meet up to go to the Digital World, I've seen Davis helping out other classmates, even tutoring a few and acting a little more mature than I'm used to seeing him, before he would continue to act like he always did. I never understood why he did that until now."
Smiling to see that Cody understood, Sora then withdrew her cellphone, scrolled through her photos until she found an old one.
Taken a few months before the camping trip and their first adventure into the Digital World, the photo showed her, Tai, Kari and Davis together, with the maroon haired Digidestined and Kari holding hands and having bright smiles on their faces.
Passing her phone around, Sora's smile grew to see the looks on her friends' faces, before becoming concerned once the phone was handed to Joe, who gained a shocked expression as he then asked. "Wait, this is what Davis looked like back then?"
"Yes, why?" The orange haired Digidestined questioned in reply, seeing Joe fixing his glasses to make sure he was seeing the image correctly.
"Well, remember back when we first thought Myotismon was defeated and we went to check on everyone he put to sleep?" Joe then asked, his question earning confirming nods from the original Digidestined, before the Digidestined of Reliability then said. "When we went to check on the kids Myotismon held captive, I remember Kari rushing and finding this kid and frantically trying to wake him up. I had to reassure her that he was alright and just knocked out."
"Davis did mention he was held by the Bakemon during that incident." Cody said as he remembered when their group was at Digitamamon's and informing each other of the events that eventually led to them all being Digidestined.
"Oh, I feel terrible now, getting between Kari and true love." Mimi then commented as she looked upon the photo, before looking at TK and adding with an apologetic tone. "Sorry for what we put you and Kari through, TK. It's just you two became such good friends during our fight with the Dark Masters, and your Crests are related, so it just seemed like you two were meant for each other."
"If you're using our Crests as a match making tool, then that would also prove Davis and Kari were meant to be together." Izzy then remarked, receiving confused looks as the Digidestined of Knowledge then went on to say. "Davis may have the Crests of Courage and of Friendship, but he also has a third one as well."
"Miracles." Ken then said.
Remembering how he used the Digi-Egg of Miracles to power his old base as the Digimon Emperor, the same power that Davis had awakened and wielded against him, even allowing Veemon to Armour Digivolve into the majestic form of Magnamon and not only defeat Kimeramon, but also save the Digidestined of Kindness from his own darkness.
After Sora's phone was returned to her, there was a brief moment of silence within the group of Digidestined, which was broken as Mimi stood up, clenched her fist and held a determined look upon her face.
"Alright, we need to fix this! Once we can get Davis back into the Digital World, we are going to set up the perfect date between him and Kari so she can tell him how she feels and let them start their romance!" The pink haired Digidestined declared with great enthusiasm, her eyes gaining stars and saying happily. "We'll even get the others to help! I'm sure Shoutmon can find a venue to use, Angie and Jeri would probably love to help cooking, especially if it means some alone time with Mikey and Takato respectively, and maybe we can convince Nene to put on a performance for Davis and Kari's date night!"
Sweatdropping slightly to Mimi and her usual antics, the group of Digidestined found themselves all agreeing to the idea and willing to do whatever they could to fix things between Davis and Kari.
"That sounds like a good idea, right Ken?" Yolei asked as she looked at her boyfriend, who expressed some concern when she saw the distant look upon Ken's face.
"Ken?" The purple haired Digidestined asked, her concern getting her beloved's attention as he shook his head and looked at her.
"Sorry, it's just... just a weird feeling came over me, one I haven't felt in a long time." The Digidestined of Kindness informed in reply, his words getting the others' attention.
"What feeling is that?" Sora then questioned, the orange haired girl also wondering if everything was alright.
Letting out a sigh, Ken then replied with some worry in his tone. "It's the same feeling I had when my brother died."
Hearing this shocked the majority of the group, a shock that only grew as Cody then added. "I'm having a similar feeling, one I felt when I learned my father had passed, like someone important was now gone."
A little concerned to hear this, the other Digidestined were about to question Ken and Cody a little more, before everyone heard their phones beep, alerting them to a shared text message and causing the Digidestined to all withdraw their cellphones.
As they all silently read the message, the group's expressions turned from confused to shocked, horrified and dread, with Sora, Mimi and Yolei letting out cries of panic as they placed their hands over their mouths.
It was at that moment that the lives of the Digidestined were changed forever.
.
.
.
"Hey, Davis, um, I know I have left you a few messages already, but please, please call me when you get this message. I tried to get to the airport in time but there was traffic, please, I need to talk to you." Kari said as she left her thirteenth message on Davis' voice mail within the past two hours, before hanging up her phone and continued to pace back and forth in her room, desperate to shake off her feelings of dread and despair.
Was she being desperate?
Probably, but who could blame her as in Kari's eyes, the love of her life had just left and probably believed she wanted nothing to do with him, which was far from the truth.
Looking to her nightstand, Kari walked over and picked up a portrait framed photo she had of Davis, one taken recently as she lightly traced his handsome face with her finger, where Kari smiled lightly as she thought of her dream man.
She needed Davis in her life, even with her brother and friends in it, her world felt empty without the maroon haired boy, this causing the brunette to put the picture down and look upon her cellphone once again, ready to call Davis as she desperately needed to hear his voice.
The Digidestined of Light knew Davis' flight wouldn't land for a few more hours, but Kari didn't care, she needed to talk to him, to let him know how important he was to her, she needed to tell him that she loved him.
Before she could dial the Motomiya's number again, Kari heard the main phone in the house ring.
Ignoring the call briefly as she prepared to call Davis, Kari came to a halt in her actions when she heard Tai's voice outside of her room as he answered the phone.
"Hey, Jun, what...? What...?!" Kari heard her brother say, his tone quickly changing from friendly to shocked, confusing the Digidestined of Light as to why Jun had called and why Tai moved away from her room as he talked to her.
Waiting a few moments, Kari then watched after the call ended as Tai entered her room, a look of shock, disbelief and fear on his face, leaving the younger Kamiya concerned as she asked. "Tai, what is it, what's wrong?"
"Kari... there... there was an accident..." Tai said in a shaky voice, seemingly unable to accept what he just heard, but worried more for Kari's own reaction as he told his sister. "Davis' flight... there was some kind of engine trouble..."
"Is he ok?! Did the plane land safely?" Kari then questioned with a small panic in her voice, hoping that Davis was alright and that he was indeed safe.
Looking Kari in the eyes, allowing his sister to see the pain within them, Tai gulped lightly and told Kari in reply. "The plane exploded in the air... there were no survivors..."
It took a moment, but Kari's eyes slowly widened as the meaning of Tai's words registered in her mind, and to the horrible truth behind them.
Davis was dead, he was gone, she would never see him again, she would never be able to talk to him, to see his smile, to feel his warmth, she would never fulfil her dreams of marrying him, of having a family together...
He would never know that she loved him.
It didn't register in Kari's mind as she fell to her knees, screaming in pain, agony and sorrow, it didn't register to her as Tai quickly rushed to his sibling, wrapping his arms around her as he tried to comfort her, her vision blurry from her tears as she continued to scream.
The love of her life was gone, and nothing mattered anymore to Kari Kamiya.
.
.
.
Groaning lightly, Davis Motomiya slowly opened his eyes, confused as he found himself suspended in a pillar of light, the maroon haired Digidestined trying to remember what had happened.
He remembered being on his flight, writing out a text message he wanted to send to Kari, before the entire plane shook as something exploded outside and a fire began to spread into the cabin.
After that, the maroon haired Digidestined vaguely recalled a bright pillar of light consuming him, puzzling him to no end.
Looking around, Davis tried to figure out where he was, before freezing when he heard a voice that sounded both powerful and beyond human begin to speak.
This one has the heart of a hero, a leader and a warrior of destiny... one who can change our world for the better...
Confused by the voice, Davis then heard five more voices chime in, two female and three males from the sound of it as each described what they apparently saw in him.
A Champion...
A Hero...
A Guardian...
A Leader...
A Conqueror...
This one's past is over, but a new eternity waits for him, and for all of Nexus...
Confused and bewildered by what was happening, Davis felt that his life was about to change in ways he never imagined.

Author's Note: And this is the beginning of a new adventure, one I have been waiting to create for a long time now. In fact, many ideas for this story have been incorporated into my other stories over the past few years. I look forward to the reactions as this story develops.
As stated, this story and Destiny's Salvation will be worked on together, a chapter for each story, one right after the other, until both stories are complete. I hope you all enjoy both stories and see you next month with the next chapter of Destiny's Salvation.
