With a startled jerk, Davis awoke, the maroon haired champion finding that he was now chained to one of the walls that made up the outpost, the change causing Davis to try and break himself free from his metal restraints, but found the metal binding to be stronger than he had expected.

Calming down and deciding to look around to get a better idea of the situation, Davis then noticed that his swords and his gauntlet had been taken away and were resting several feet from him, along with his D-3, the Digivices and the weaponry his friends had upon them.

Continuing to scan the area, Davis then looked over to his side and saw TK, Jun, and the remaining Digidestined chained up just as he was, while the Digimon were all set up with metal restraints, preventing them from escaping.

However, the sound of slamming against metal and a great outburst of anger then caught Davis' attention, where the maroon haired hero looked over to see Kari trapped within what appeared to be a metal cage that emanated with a blue field of energy.

As the Dark Empress continued to try and use her power to break out and to free Davis, the brown haired girl found the energy fields were holding her back and somehow able to drain her powers in the process.

Seeing Kari in danger and feeling his own anger get the better of him, Davis once again tried to break from his restraints, an action the other Digidestined and Digimon all copied as they tried to get out of their chains, but found their efforts futile.

And although some such as Tai, Agumon, TK, Veemon and Matt continued to struggle, the Digidestined and Digimon all came to a shared halt when a wicked chuckle was then heard echoed throughout the room.

"It looks like everyone's awake now." The DDF commander that Davis had seen before he passed out then said with a sly grin as he entered the room, accompanied alongside Kouki, Nanami and Ivan, while Davis then took note of a series of soldiers around the room, acting as guards, while a single Commandramon was a few feet from the maroon haired hero and appeared to be observing what looked to be a radar system as he kept watch for any potential threats within the vicinity.

Quickly looking around, Davis then noticed a DDF airship in the sky above the outpost, while all around the complex was a large battalion of DDF forces, from human soldiers to Commandramon, Sealsdramon, Knightmon, Tankdramon, a small group of Seraphimon and even a MetalSeadramon amongst the ranks.

Focusing back on the DDF commander, Davis then watched as TK looked upon the man with pure rage as he struggled within his restraints and screamed furiously. "Markson! What the hell is this?! Let us out now or I promise you will spend the rest of your miserable life rotting in a cell!"

"You don't have any authority anymore, Takashi." Markson said back and with a sly grin, an arrogant smile remaining on his face as he told the Digidestined of Hope. "The Council had relieved you of command and declared you and the rest of your friends here traitors for allying with the Dark Empress and her filth."

To Markson's words, TK and the rest of the DDF Digidestined and Digimon were left in shock, each believing that Sampson, Yamaki and Gennai wouldn't allow such a thing to happen, especially after all they had been through.

Looking toward the containment device holding the Dark Empress, Markson gained a sly grin to see Kari's rage filled glare upon him as he then informed everyone present. "Our orders are to capture the Dark Empress, with a little help from the device Ms. Wong developed, and bring her back for trial."

"And we'll be the ones hailed as heroes for ending the war." Kouki then added with his own chuckle, while Nanami gave her own devious smile, while Ivan remained neutral, the latter knowing that his family would receive further financial support for his actions.

Unbeknownst to the DDF Colonel and his allies, Cody's camera was still transmitting and allowed all who were viewing the stream to see what was happening amongst the captured Digidestined.

Within the Provisional Council's chamber, the various members present were in shock and also horrified by what they were witness to, seeing their own forces attacking without orders and causing a potential political crisis.

"Damn it, not more rogues!" Hashima lamented in anger as he remembered the group of idiots that attempted to kill Kari when she first arrived in Nexus, where the council member then began to say. "We need to deal with this..."

"They are not rogues. They are following orders." A familiar voice then called over the chatter, where the council members all turned and looked over to see Richard Carson walk into the chamber, escorted by his two black suited bodyguards as everyone watched as Carson took his seat.

"Carson... what have you done?!" Yamaki demanded with a hint of anger in his tone, knowing now that the power-hungry member of the council had something to do with this incident.

"I did what needed to be done so we can end this war." Carson replied with no regret in his voice as he folded his hands and looked at the screen, the dark haired politician adding with a firm authority to his tone. "The Dark Empress will face a real trial for her actions, and if that means sacrificing some incompetent fools who cling to a lost past, then so be it."

As Sampson was about to run up and slug Carson in the face, Gennai placed a hand upon his shoulder, stopping him from making any further mistakes which would only jeopardize Davis and the others, where the council returned their gaze upon the screen and watched to see what would happen next.

"What the hell is this?!" Marcus questioned as he and the rest of the Dark Imperium within the Fire Palace rose to their feet and glared at those around them from the DDF, who each looked surprised by what they were witnessing on the screen and fearful of the repercussions.

"We had nothing to do with this!" Hiro was quick to say in defense of himself and his friends present, already believing that someone with authority was trying to manipulate things for their own ends.

Refusing to believe their former friends in the DDF, however, Marcus, Takato and the other Dark Imperium heroes and heroines were about to do something drastic, before they heard Julie whisper in a terrified voice. "Not good, not good, not good!"

Turning to look upon the silver haired champion, the Digi-heroes and heroines present saw the look of worry on Julie's face, while Caleb and Lelouch had fearful expressions, which were shared by Victor and Kenji.

Believing that the members of the Fire Realm were worried for Davis' safety and for any possible violations against their alliance with the Dark Realm, Thomas began to say with a sincere trust. "I know you are concerned for Davis, but I promise you..."

"No, you don't understand!" Julie snapped as she looked at Thomas and pointed at the screen, adding with a fearful tone. "Those DDF soldiers, all of them, they are dead! All of them! Reality just hasn't caught up to them yet!"

To what Julie told them, Thomas and the others remained confused as they looked back at the screen and began to worry about what would happen next between Davis and the DDF forces.

Sparing a glance at the Dark Empress, who once again tried to break out of her cell as he walked past her, Markson stopped before Davis and said with a sarcastic courtesy. "The pilots of your transport are alright, just under guard for now. Don't want to have any bad relationships with the Fire Realm now, do we? They'll be released once we leave."

"You're not going anywhere." Davis said in an even tone, one that let Veemon and the others know that he was pissed as the maroon haired champion went on to say. "You won't even leave this area, it'll be your grave."

"Still full of bravado even tied up, I'll give you that." The Colonel remarked with a grin as he asked with a sly arrogance within in his tone. "You really think you are going to kill me?"

"Not me." Davis replied, looking the Colonel in the eyes as he added. "The Dark Realm only invited me and the group you got chained here, the rest of you are trespassers, and that is punishable by death. You are all dead, you just haven't figured it out yet."

"So no, I'm not going to kill you, I am just going to sit back and watch you die screaming." The maroon haired champion then informed Markson as he sat back and continued to glare at the Colonel, the tone Davis used in his words sending shivers down the spines of TK, Veemon and the others.

For Markson, however, the Colonel just chuckled, denying Davis' threats and telling the maroon haired champion with a deeper arrogance. "You've got guts, kid, but you are horrible at bluffing."

Gesturing to the Commandramon looking over the radar system, the silver haired officer then informed the maroon haired hero. "We have been keeping an eye out for your Dark Realm friends and there isn't any life around us for hundreds of miles, even your own allies have abandoned you!"

The Colonel then expelled a laugh at Davis' expense, along with Kouki, Nanami, Ivan and the rest of their soldiers within the room, while TK and the others glared at Markson as they tried to figure out how to get out of their current situation.

Back within the Provisional Council chamber, Carson gained a sly smirk on his face, proud of Markson for calling out the arrogant champion and his bluff.

However, Davis merely stared at Markson as he then questioned with a serious tone. "No shit, why would you look for life in the land of the dead?"

Taking in Davis' words, Kari, TK and the other Digidestined and Digimon slowly looked at the maroon haired champion with widened eyes, while Markson and his allies slowly stopped laughing as Davis' words and their meaning echoed within their minds.

And looking upon Davis' face, the Colonel quickly realized that the maroon haired hero was being serious and that this was not a bluff.

Within the Council Chamber, Carson's smirk quickly melted into one of shock and disbelief, with the rest of the council looking at the screen and making sure they heard what they heard correctly as the dark haired politician thought to himself. 'He can't mean...?'

Back in the theatre chamber of the Fire Palace, the remaining heroes and heroines of the DDF and Dark Imperium slowly turned their heads towards the screen, their previous arguments dropped as they realized what Davis just said, while Julie, Caleb and the rest of the Fire Realm individuals present frowned, each knowing exactly what was about to happen.

As silence reigned for a moment and as Kari, TK and the other Digidestined and Digimon remembered what Davis said earlier about how the Dark Realm influenced their worlds' beliefs on Darkness, and now they were quickly understanding what he meant by all of that.

Keeping his serious expression, Davis then turned to the Commandramon monitoring the radar, getting his attention.

"Hey, are you tracking for heat signatures with that thing?" He questioned.

Looking back at the screen and then to Davis, the cyborg Digimon nodded his head in confirmation, where the fire champion then instructed him. "Switch it to motion sensors."

Looking between Davis and Markson for a moment, the Commandramon then did what he was told and switched the modes upon the radar system.

Instantly, the radar began to blare loudly, filling Markson and those around him with fear, before they watched as the Commandramon quickly took off, running out of the outpost and looking as though he was trying to run toward the border of the Fire Realm.

Scoffing lightly, Davis knew that the small guy would never make it as the maroon haired hero then watched as Markson approached the blaring radar to see hundreds of thousands of blipping dots coming toward their location and quickly closing in on them.

Turning to Kouki, the Colonel then commanded with a small panic. "Stop them!"

"No problem." The blond haired Bio-Hybrid replied with a familiar overconfidence within his voice as he, Nanami and Ivan exited the outpost, to see the soldiers all looking nervous as they could hear the growing blares from the radar.

Quickly changing into BioDarkdramon, BioRotosmon and BioSpinomon, the trio of Bio-Hybrids all shared a powerful battle cry as they rushed towards the oncoming forces, with many soldiers, Commandramon, Sealsdramon, some of the Knightmon and the MetalSeadramon following behind the trio, all ready to prove the might of the DDF against their new foes.

Charging forward, the Bio-Hybrid form of Kouki was filled with a sadistic glee as he looked forward to the oncoming battle, leading the charge as he prepared to show his enemies his true strength.

Behind him, however, BioRotosmon and BioSpinomon each had different thoughts as they continued to charge with their ally, seeing no lights coming towards them, as though those coming toward them didn't need light to see.

However, as they drew closer and closer, the DDF forces felt the ground rumbling beneath them, followed soon after by the sounds of inhuman shrieks and cries, filling many amongst the ranks with a great fear, but leaving BioDarkdramon grinning with excitement.

But as the forces charging at them came into the light of BioDarkdramon's wings, within his Bio-Hybrid form, Kouki's overconfidence quickly turned into pure and unrefined terror.

To those watching from the DDF airship, it looked as though their allies had crashed into a wall of darkness, before seemingly being pushed back, while those below at the outpost watched on as they saw their allies using their attacks and the sounds of battle could be heard.

Even from their position within the outpost, Markson, Davis, Kari and the rest of the prisoners and the guards could see the fighting before, much to the shock of everyone but Davis, the attacks seemed to stop and only silence eventually reigned.

Watching from their positions around the outpost, the soldiers all waited with held breaths, before seeing a Sealdramon charging out of the darkness every now and then, each running for their lives as they ran past their allies and tried to make their way toward the Fire Realm border for protection.

Eventually, Markson, Davis, Kari and the others saw Ivan running towards the outpost with Nanami in his arms, both were covered in blood, with wounds and gashes along their bodies as the blonde Bio-hybrid could barely keep herself conscious, while those who he passed could see the look of pure terror upon Ivan's face.

There was no sign of Kouki, nor the rest of the forces that followed him, which only increased the fear within the rogue DDF forces.

"Holy shit..." Takuya could only say with an understandable shock as he and the others continued to watch what was appearing on the screen, each feeling a sense of growing dread to see such a force belonging to the DDF all but wiped out.

Shaking with fear, Markson quickly turned to Davis and demanded in panic. "Order them to stand down, now!"

"I'm the champion of the Fire Realm, not the Dark Realm, I'm just a guest here, so they won't listen to me." Davis replied with a small grin, which only continued to unnerve the Colonel.

"But they will kill your friends as well!" The silver haired commander then bellowed as he pointed to the bound Digidestined and Digimon, who all felt fear at the idea that whatever was coming would come for them as well.

"They are all protected." Davis assured in reply, adding as he continued to glare at Markson. "Each of them bears a mark that lets those coming know that they are under my protection and are not to be harmed."

Remembering the precautions that Davis had taken earlier, TK, Kari and the others quickly looked toward their hands, each seeing a glowing red mark upon them that resembled the symbol of the Fire Realm, marking them as protected by Davis and not to be harmed by the Dark Realm's forces.

About to shout again at Davis, Markson then fell silent as the ground beneath him began to shake, this causing him to turn and look outside as his panic and fear only grew.

Outside, the remaining human soldiers, the Commandramon and Tankdramon took to firing positions as they heard shrieks and wails, while the remaining Sealsdramon and Knightmon prepared to fight, though the sounds coming toward them filled the Digimon with fear.

Then, like a dark tidal wave, the beings of the Dark Realm came into the light, horrifying all but Davis as they took in two initial types of creatures, seeing as there were thousands of them.

Both were made of bone and exposed muscle, with the first having four spiked arms that they crawled on with their back legs, each with a mask covering their eyes, but revealing their razor sharp fangs as they rushed forward and shrieked fearsomely.

The second skeletal creatures were bipedal, with a shape blade replacing their right arm and the left arm replaced with a shield as they charged alongside their kin, each also wearing a bone mask that covered their eyes but revealed their gaping mouths.

"Open fire!" One of the human soldiers suddenly ordered as the human soldiers, Commandramon and Tankdramon began opening fire upon the horde of skeletal monstrosities rushing toward them, each desperate to drive these nightmares back so they could leave this place alive.

But like a sea of death, the Dark Realm warriors crashed into their new foes, even leaping over their own allies as they washed over the line of DDF soldiers, many of whom cried out in panic and agony as they were ripped apart by their new foes.

As they were being overrun by the Dark Realm forces, Markson then saw a line of more enemy forces emerging from the darkness, with these figures all clad in black armour and wielded swords and shields, each resembling elite soldiers as they charged towards the battle lines, cutting and cleaving their way through the DDF soldiers, with one Sealdramon seeing the skeletal face behind one of the helmets of the dark soldiers before he burst into Data particles.

Tying to hold back the sea of foes, the Knightmon then saw a charge of black armoured knights on horseback, horses that looked to be undead, which they held within their skeletal features, while those riding them had bat-like designs upon their armour and helmets that covered all but their mouths as they rushed in, stampeding and cutting through their foes in the process.

Seeing one of the horseback knights dismount and move toward him, one DDF soldier activated a pair of energy blades his armour was equipped with, before he charged at the black armoured warrior, who parried a few strikes from the DDF trooper with an amused grin on his face.

Finding an opening, however, the DDF soldier then ran his blade through the black armoured knight's chest, a smirk forming behind his helmet as he believed he defeated his foe.

But much to the DDF soldier's shock and surprise, the black knight seemed unfazed by his attack, where he looked down upon his attacker and smiled, allowing the DDF soldier to see the being's fangs, before the knight grabbed the soldier and ripped his helmet off of his head, sinking said fangs into his neck as the soldier cried out in pain and agony.

Seeing this and becoming filled with panic, another soldier began to cry out through his comms. "The black knights are vampires! The black knights are vampires, the...!"

Before the soldier could continue his panicked rant, his head was severed from his body, which fell to the ground as a ghostly being in black robes and with a skull-like face appeared behind him, holding a scythe as it floated into the air and was joined by a legion of other spectral beings that materialized around the area, joining their undead brethren in wiping out the invaders.

"Oh my god..." One of the other council members of the Provisional Council could only say in pure horror within his voice as they watched their elite force getting massacred, a feeling those watching from the Fire Palace shared as they watched the seemingly one sided fight.

Back within the outpost, TK, Tai and the majority of the Digidestined and Digimon watched with shock and horror, especially Matt, whose secret fear of ghosts was now on full display as he watched the spectral beings flying through the air.

The only individuals who didn't seem shocked or fearful to the sight was Kari, who watched the battle with intrigue, as well as Davis, who looked on with a small smirk to see his allies arriving in droves.

His panic growing from the sight of his forces getting massacred, Markson knew he had to move fast and get the Dark Empress out of there, where he began to contact the airship above and commanded those on board with a growing fear. "Get me a transport now and...!"

Before the Colonel could finish his sentence, however, a powerful blast of dark energy struck the airship, destroying it instantly as the burning debris fell from the sky, crushing many soldiers and Commandramon, but illuminating more of the battlefield as Markson looked toward the cause of the blast.

Floating down from the dark clouds above was a massive black stone fortress, with five points extending from the centre and a massive castle-like structure on top, while upon the front of the construct was a massive skull face, dark energy emitting from within allowing the Colonel to know that this was what just destroyed his airship, while freaking out as he saw several skeletal dragons flying around the dark object.

"The Dark Citadel!" Kenji said in awe, adding with further amazement. "I have only ever heard stories of it and how its presence always brings death to those who stand against it and its Master."

Unnerved by this comment, Thomas, Mikey and the rest of the DDF and Dark Imperium heroes and heroines then watched as five humanoid figures then seemed to float down from the Citadel and to the battle below, each clad in dark bone armour and wielding black weapons with dark purple runes upon them and a dark aura surrounding them.

"Wha... what are those...?" Eri questioned with fear in her voice as she clenched Dokamon close to her, the pink haired idol feeling a sense of pure dread and fear as she looked upon the beings, as though feeling their darkness from such a distance.

"Dark Lords, the Dark Realm's answer to Fire Champions." Caleb said in reply, getting the attention of the DDF and the Dark Imperium, to which the dark haired champion then informed the others. "Except, unlike us, they not only protect the Dark Realm, but are their rulers as well, answerable only to the Dark Emperor himself."

Shaking a little at the idea of such powerful beings now entering the battle, the group's attention was then turned to Victor as the young prince then questioned. "Is that him? Is that the Shadow?"

Following the direction the young knight was looking toward and looking toward the centre of the group of Dark Lords, to one being in particular, the DDF and Dark Imperium heroes and heroines saw a being clad in black armour and gold trims, with a dark purple gem on his chest, a long and flowing black cape and a black sword with dark purple runes along the blade and a hilt with a skull design to it.

The Dark Lord's shoulder pads resembled a pair of human skulls with several blades coming out of them and gold teeth, while six spikes protrude from the back of the being, giving him a menacing appearance.

But perhaps most terrifying of all was the being's head, which was covered in a helmet that resembled a black human skull with gold teeth, a pair of twin blades coming out of the sides of his head and a dark purple flame emanating from the helmet's eye sockets, which left this being looking like a personification of death itself.

"That's him." Caleb confirmed as he looked upon one of Davis' closest allies.

"Ok, he looks menacing." Kazu remarked with a small nervousness in his tone as he looked upon the champion of the Dark Realm with fear.

"He is." Julie said in reply, her eyes remaining upon the Dark Lord as she told the others. "His reputation is legendary and has earned him many titles, a Butcher of the Light... a Conqueror in the Dark..."

Continuing to watch from their spot in the outpost, Colonel Markson, Davis, Kari, TK and the rest of the Digidestined and Digimon watched as the Shadow and his fellow Dark Lords descended to the ground, where they saw many of the Dark Realm forces that weren't fighting had gathered.

Expelling loud shrieks and cheers as their Master landed before them, the Dark Realm Forces acted like a choir of the damned celebrating the arrival of their god-like leader.

His feet touching the ground, a dark aura surrounded the Shadow as he began to walk forward, with the six legged skeletal creatures pressing themselves to the ground as the skeletal warriors and their black armoured kin knelt on one knee as their lord passed, while the vampiric knights saluted their Master, showing all who looked upon the scene the respect and fear they held for the champion of the Dark Emperor.

Stopping for a moment as he surveyed the battlefield and looked upon the DDF forces remaining, the Shadow then slammed his blade into the ground, which sent out thousands of tendrils of darkness that spread across the battlefield.

While the tendrils showed no effect in harming the Dark Realm forces, upon touching forces arrayed against them, however, the DDF forces all screamed in agony and pain as their bodies were consumed in the darkness and quickly dissolving into nothingness from the dark and nightmarish attack.

Pulling his blade out from the ground, the Shadow then moved with blinding speed, appearing before one of the Seraphimon and cutting through it with ease, before appearing before the other two celestial Digimon and swinging his blade, where the three celestial Digimon then burst apart and into Data particles a moment later as the Dark Lord moved through the battlefield like a predator stalking his prey.

Shaking with fear and despair, Markson realized that his plans were ruined and that he could very soon be a dead man.

Refusing to just simply die, the Colonel withdrew his side arm and pointed it at Kari, as he knew that a bullet could pass through the barrier, where Markson believed he would at least die as a hero back home by ending the brunette's life.

Before he could even pull the trigger, Markson felt a sudden and intense pain as the hand holding his gun was severed from his body, the Colonel holding his bleeding arm as he let out a pained cry and looked to see his severed hand upon the ground, before looking as one of the reaper spectres appeared before him, this causing Markson to panic as the guards in the room were quickly dispatched by more of the shadowed ghosts, where the Colonel turned and ran out of the outpost for his life.

Though fearful of the spectral beings around them, TK, Patamon and the other Digidestined and Digimon were surprised when the spectres then cut the restraints around them, while a few more broke the containment device holding Kari.

Finally, as the ghosts allowed Davis his freedom, three more of the spirits brought the fire champion his gauntlet and his blades, which the maroon haired hero quickly took back into his possession and placed back on his arm.

"Let's go see how this all ends." Blaze remarked with a small chuckle, knowing exactly what was about to happen.

Still clenching the remains of his bloody arm, Markson ran out of the outpost as he looked around, seeing the fire from the airship wreckage all around him, before laying eyes upon the Fire Realm transport, where he saw Ivan and Nanami leaning against the side of it, both too tired and too terrified to move.

Seeing his chance to flee, Markson rushed towards the transport, hoping to get on board and have the soldiers stationed within take control of the vessel and make their escape.

However, as he approached the ship, the Colonel's eyes widened as the trio of Fire Realm pilots exited and pointed rifles at him, this causing Markson to stagger backwards as he realized his men were most likely deceased.

Turning around, the Colonel then saw Davis Motomiya, the Dark Empress and the rest of the Digidestined and Digimon approaching him, each glaring upon Markson, while Kari's right hand was enveloped within a dark energy.

Angered with the DDF and tired of their attempts to get between her and her future, Kari was about to wipe Markson from existence, a sight that left nothing but fear and terror in the Colonel's eyes.

However, Markson then let out a sigh of relief as Davis placed a hand on Kari's shoulder, this causing the brunette to stop her attack, where the Colonel believed that the maroon haired hero was about to save him, but he felt a great terror when Davis told Kari. "His life isn't yours to take."

Confusion filled the silver haired officer, before a sense of dread and doom filled him, causing him to turn around and see, from out of the flames, the Shadow stalking towards him, the dark purple flames within his eyes blazing as the menacing figure moved toward him.

"Please... no... I... I was only following orders... I...! Markson begged desperately as he saw the dark being continued to approach him, now realizing that there was a silence in the air, and that all his soldiers were most likely dead.

But before the Colonel could continue, the Shadow disappeared and reappeared before him.

Grabbing Markson by his face and lifting him into the air, where a moment later, the Colonel's entire body was engulfed in a dark flame, causing Markson's screams of pain and suffering to fill the air.

For most present, the scene was hard to watch as they averted their eyes, shaking as they heard Markson's dying cries, before the flames vanished, leaving only a charged skull within the Shadow's hand, which he proceeded to then crush and to allow the ashes to scatter amongst the winds.

'Markson you fool...!' Carson thought to himself as he mentally cured his subordinate, blaming him for the plan's failure and for the position the DDF was now in.

Turning, the Shadow's eyes then landed upon Nanami and Ivan, who both held looks of sheer terror as the Dark Lord then began to make his way toward them, ready to end their lives as well.

"You made your point." Davis then said with an even tone, this causing the Shadow to stop and look upon the fire champion for a moment, before nodding his head in reply, where Davis then signalled for the pilots to treat Nanami and Ivan of their injuries.

"Ok... this guy is no joke... He is seriously brutal...!" Tagiru commented with continued fear as he and those within the Fire Palace watched the end of the massacre, each of those from the Digital World and its allied worlds afraid that they had now just upset a very powerful and terrifying force.

Realizing the same thing and knowing that the Dark Realm could retaliate against the DDF forces in Nexus for Markson's actions, TK swallowed his fear and approached the Shadow, accompanied by Patamon on his shoulder, both holding back their nervousness as the Dark Lord turned his gaze upon the Digidestined and Digimon of Hope.

"I am Commander TK Takashi of the DDF, I want to apologize for this unauthorized assault upon your lands. I promise you those responsible for this will be held accountable." The blond said as he held his hand out in friendship toward the Shadow, the Digidestined of Hope hoping the gesture would ease any hostilities between the Dark Realm and the DDF.

Watching themselves, the Provisional Council and the DDF members within the Fire Palace silently thanked TK for his quick thinking, each praying that this would smooth things over.

However, as time passed, TK and Patamon felt their own nervousness growing as the Shadow merely stared at TK's hand, before turning his head back toward Davis, who smirked in response.

"I told you I wouldn't tell them." The maroon haired hero merely said, his words concerning TK, who quickly asked. "Tell us what exactly?"

"Tell you of the ironies and hypocrisies of Nexus." The Shadow said in reply as he turned and walked past TK, looking over his soldiers as the Dark Realm forces regrouped after the battle.

However, with the exceptions of Davis, Kari, Jun and Veemon, TK and the rest of the Digidestined and Digimon held shocked expressions on their faces.

Despite being distorted by the helmet, the voice the group just heard was one very familiar to them.

Within the Provisional Council's chamber, every member present felt their eyes widened in shock and disbelief at what they had just heard.

"What... the... hell...?!" Takuya questioned, the Warrior of Flame, along with the rest of the DDF and Dark Imperium groups within the Fire Palace, all shocked and still perplexed by what they had just heard with their ears.

"The legend is true then!" Victor then let out with awe, the heir to Ignisia then stepping back as Thomas and the others looked to him with desperation.

"What legend?" The DATS genius asked, doing his best not to sound threatening, but Thomas also needed to know what exactly was going on here.

It was Julie who responded to the question, the silver haired champion keeping her eyes upon the screen as she told those not of Nexus. "When Davis Motomiya arrived in Nexus and was brought before the Council of Arbitration, the five rulers of Nexus each saw in him the champion they desired. It is said that the arguments as to who he would serve lasted for days and almost broke out into war."

Swallowing and taking a breath, Julie then told those around her. "And so, a decision was made... and one soul was divided into five."

"It seems you haven't taken to leadership too well." The Shadow then said as he placed his left hand on his helmet and slid it open, revealing his true face as he turned and faced the Digidestined of Hope, asking with a sadistic glee in his eyes. "Have you now, TK?"

Feeling panic rising within him, TK's single eye was wide as he took in the face before him, one he knew all too well.

The face of Davis Motomiya.

Author's Note: We have finally arrived at it, the moment I have been working toward. While it will be explained more next chapter, to sum it up, when Davis was brought to Nexus, he was split into five identical copies of himself, each with the same memories, the same love for the same woman, and have each spent the past twenty thousand years developing into their own individuals, and yes, we will be meeting all of them in this story.

In fact, I will throw you all a small bone right now, while the Davis of the Dark Realm is the second Davis our heroes have met, he is the THIRD Davis you have all seen, the second Davis has been mentioned and shown a few times already.

And now that I have reached this part, I will be taking a small breather before the next chapter, maybe even continue Destiny's Salvation in the process, hope you all enjoy this chapter.

PS: As a small warning, the next chapter of this story may be a bit… dark. There are many reasons this story is rated M, and the Davis of the Dark Realm is one of them.

One does not rule in Hell by keeping their virtues, and perhaps, their sanity.

Also, if you want some idea of the Davis of the Dark Realm's armour, look up Josu Vess from Magic the Gathering, just helmet closed, chest with just a gem, spikes in the back and a sword in hand.
