Chapter 8

A month had passed since Frisk had been brought to the Doodlesphere and each day, the girl used her powers to heal the AUs. She had gone to Dusttale and met the Sans there. He had been stunned to learn that she had powers, but after she healed his AU, he was amazed. "Guess there are good humans," he said. "Stay safe, kid."

Word began spreading quickly to the other AUs and while some were reluctant to trust the child, they were grateful when she healed their AUs too. "The stories were true," the Sans from Horrortale said.

"Good job," said the Papyrus from Swapfell said.

Frisk continued healing the AUs one by one and in a few months, all the AUs that had originally not gotten a happy ending were now healed and Lullaby Grillby and PreciousTale Grillby placed protective spells on the doors to those AUs, keeping them safe from Volcano, who had been spotted a few times, but apparently had left when he couldn't find Frisk.

"Well, things are going well," Ink said. "Despite Volcano being spotted, no other AUs have been attacked by him."

"And Frisk healed all the AUs that didn't originally get a happy ending," Charlotte said.

"She's deter-determined," Error said, smiling. "I didn't dou-doubt her for a min-minute."

"Even healing my AU," PreciousTale Grillby said. "I never thought I'd see that."

"I had to," she said. "Especially after hearing how your Frisk had to go against her older brother to fight him to free you all. I know how that feels."

"You do?" He asked.

She nodded. "I had to fight Asriel to free my family," she said. "He's like my brother, but I had to battle him and...I couldn't free him, though I wanted to."

She then perked up. "Maybe...Maybe now I can free him," she said. "If my powers can heal AUs like Underfell, Glitchtale, and others, maybe I can heal the AUs that did get happy endings."

Ink grew thoughtful. "Perhaps you're right," he said. "What AU should we try that theory on?"

"How about Lullaby Tale?" Charlotte said. "They got their happy ending, yes, but they lost two dear friends and it took a small child falling into a crater to help the people accept the monsters."

"I can guarantee no one will attack her there," Lullaby Grillby said.

Nodding, Ink brought Frisk to Lullaby Tale and Caramel smiled at them. "Word's been spreading like wildfire about you healing the AUs," he said. "Several of my counterparts are surprised by your actions, but also grateful."

Smiling, Frisk took a deep breath and her powers activated, making Caramel's eyes widen as the glow spread to the rest of the AU, the steps into the crater becoming a solid road and Muffet and Toriel were restored. Lullaby Toriel blinked and looked around. "Toriel," Caramel said, tears in his eye sockets.

"Sans," she said with a smile.

"Sans? What happened?" Muffet asked, confused.

Lullaby Grillby smiled. "This wonderful child happened," he said, making them look at the young girl who was healing their AU. Toriel and Muffet were stunned before they both began singing the monster's lullaby, which carried on the winds to the other monsters, who came out of their homes to see what was going on.

King Asgore, upon hearing his late wife's voice, looked up and headed out, soon finding the group and seeing his beloved wife standing there. "Toriel!" He called out, running up to her.

"Asgore," she said, smiling as her husband swept her up into a hug, crying his eyes out in joy.

"My beloved, you're alive!" He said. "But...how?"

She gestured to Frisk, who smiled at them. Asgore noted she was different from their Frisk, but he smiled. "You have a good heart, just like our Frisk," he said. "Thank you, child."

Muffet smiled at the child and began spinning some webbing in her hands. Moments later, a lovely doll made of the best silk was in her hands and she handed it to Frisk. "This is for you, little one," she said. "I used to make dolls and stuffed animals for the children all the time before we were banished up here." She smiled. "And now thanks to you, I can do so again."

Frisk gazed at the doll in awe. "It's so pretty," she said. "Thank you, Miss Muffet."

"You're welcome, little one."

As they left the AU and Lullaby Grillby and PreciousTale Grillby put the protective spell on the door, a roar sounded out, scaring Frisk and she clung to Ink, who grew worried. "Volcano," the painter skeleton said softly. "He's here."

They moved quietly, soon making it to the house and going inside, the two fire monsters putting a protection spell on the doors and windows too. "There," PreciousTale Grillby said. "Volcano can't break in now."

Ink noticed Charlotte and Error were not there. "Wait! Where's Charlotte and Error?" He asked.

Something hit the ground outside and they looked out the windows to see Error and Charlotte standing over Volcano with Underswap Papyrus, better known as Stretch, beside them, four Gaster Blasters floating around them and growling. Volcano growled as he got up. "You can't protect that child forever!" He yelled. "She'll misuse that power!"

"She hasn't and she won't," Stretch said. "Haven't you heard of her healing the AUs? Our counterparts are all surprised, but have said the same story. A child healing their AUs, giving them all a happy ending."

"Lies!" Volcano roared.

"Just because humans have not been good to you in your AU doesn't mean all humans are bad!" Charlotte said.

"She's ri-right!" Error said.

Refract arrived right then and he looked at Volcano. "Volcano, stop!" He commanded. "Leave the child be!"

"Traitor!" Volcano screamed out, charging at them, but Stretch's Gaster Blasters fired beams of light, forcing the irate fire monster to stop in his tracks and flee the scene.

As the area grew quiet again, Ink opened the door to the house. "Everyone, get inside!" He said urgently.

Charlotte made it to the door first, but allowed the other skeletons to go inside first before she did. Once she was inside, Lullaby Grillby and PreciousTale Grillby put more power into the protective spell on the door. "What happened?" The latter Grillby asked.

"Vol-Volcano came out of no-nowhere," Error said, his glitch acting up more with the stress.

"He was furious to learn that many of the doors to the AUs had protective fire spells on them," Charlotte said. "And they were keeping him out."

"He was ab-about to at-attack Dream-Dream Tale when Under-Underswap Pap-Papyrus show-showed up."

Stretch kneeled down by Error. "Easy," he said soothingly, giving the darker skeleton a hug. The gesture helped Error to calm down, his glitching also settling down too. Stretch nodded and stood up, to which Ink hugged him.

"Thank you for protecting my mate and our friend," he said.

"My pleasure," the tall skeleton said. "When Blue and I heard about an alternate Frisk healing AUs, we kept an eye out, but after Edge and Red told us about her, we knew she was a good kid and not an evil version."

"Oh, that's right," Charlotte said. "The child in your world is Chara."

Frisk looked confused and the author elaborated. "Underswap is an AU where the characters have swapped roles. For example, your uncle Sans is a sentry, right?"

"He was, yes," the child replied.

"In Underswap, Papyrus is the sentry, whereas his brother Sans is training with Undyne of the Royal Guard."

Frisk blinked before looking thoughtful. "Does that mean their world's Undyne is a scientist?"

"She is," Stretch said, smiling as he kneeled down to be level with the child. "You okay, kiddo?"

She nodded. "Yeah," she said. "So...the Frisk in your world...was she once the daughter of the King and Queen?"

He nodded. "She was, yes," he said.

Frisk sat up straighter. "I can heal your AU," she said. "I'll heal it so that you all get a happy ending and your Frisk will be okay."

He looked at her and smiled again, ruffling her hair gently. "You remind me so much of Chara," he said.

Ink was checking on things and turned to them. "We may want to lie low here for a few days," he said. "I'm going to make the house invisible to the outside so that Volcano can't get in."

Refract looked sorrowful. "I'm so sorry, Frisk," he said. "I never intended for you to be in danger."

"I know, Refract," she said, hugging him. "It's okay. You don't have control over Volcano's actions. None of us do."

"She's right," Error said.

"But I was hoping he'd see reason by now," the alternate Gaster said sadly.

Charlotte placed a hand on his shoulder. "He may not be willing to listen until he is too exhausted to fight," she said softly.

"That's what I'm afraid of," Ink said. "If he does exhaust himself, then we will have to save him."

"May-Maybe that's the an-answer," Error said. "Like how Fr-Frisk be-befriended her aunt Un-Undyne."

The child perked up. "He's right," she said. "Aunt Undyne stopped trying to capture me after I helped her instead of taking advantage that she was down and unable to fight me."

Stretch smiled. "A small act that had a huge impact," he said.

Frisk hugged Refract again. "I promise I'll help him, Refract," she said. "And your AU. You guys will have a happy ending. I promise."

The alternate Gaster hugged the child, tears falling from his eyesockets. "You're being so brave, young one," he said. "I will stand with you in this battle."

"We all will," Lullaby Grillby said as the others nodded.

"For now, is it alright if he and I use the kitchen, Ink?" PreciousTale Grillby asked, gesturing to his alternate self. "I think a good meal is what we all need right now."

"Go ahead," Ink said with a smile.

The promise of a good meal perked up everyone's spirits and helped them to feel more hopeful too, Frisk especially.

So because there are so many AUs and I don't know many of them, that is why they are not all listed, but I selected a few to mention. As of right now, there are only a handful of AUs that Frisk hasn't helped yet, but she will help them. OceanPatch will be the last one to help before she helps her own Timeline, provided the fiery chains and spell on the Classic Timeline door can be removed. We shall have to see.
