Chapter 11

Frisk woke up the next morning, going to the kitchen to find PreciousTale Grillby still standing guard while Lullaby Grillby was in the kitchen. Both turned to see the child and smiled. "Good morning, little one," the latter Grillby said, smiling.

"How did you sleep?" PreciousTale Grillby asked.

"I slept good," she said, making sure not to speak too loudly before she smelled something familiar and turned to look at Lullaby Grillby. "Is that cinnamon?" She asked.

"Good guess," he said, chuckling. "I'm getting ready to make breakfast."

"Can I help?"

He nodded and it wasn't long before a delicious smell reached the others and they began waking up. Ink opened his eyes and yawned as Charlotte sat up, rubbing a hand over her face. Refract sleepily sat up too, a yawn escaping him. Stretch turned over on his other side on the couch. "Morning already?" He asked groggily.

"It is," PreciousTale Grillby said. "And all was quiet last night."

Charlotte woke up more and stood up, stretching before looking worried. "Maybe a bit too quiet," she said. "Volcano has to know by now that there are not many portals he can go through and one of them is to his own home, if he hasn't discovered that already."

"With less portals for him to go through, it'll be easier to find him," Ink said. "Unless he goes to the Classic Timeline."

Stretch saw the worried faces and saw Frisk come over to him. Smirking, he sat up and swooped her up into a hug, making her giggle. "Hey, that's an idea," he said, looking at Frisk with a smile.

"What?" She asked.

"We need to hear more of those sweet giggles."

She immediately caught on to what his idea was and tried to escape, but he caught her and began tickling her sides and stomach, making her burst into giggles. "Heeheeheeheeheeheeheehee!" She giggled.

"That's right, kiddo," Stretch said, smiling. "Let those giggles brighten up the room."

The others smiled as they heard the child's laughter and giggles. "Looks like Stretch decided to become a tickle monster this morning," Refract said teasingly.

"Hope he'll still be hungry for breakfast after feasting on those giggles," Charlotte said, chuckling.

Error smiled before sneaking up behind Stretch and playfully wiggling his fingers against his spine, making the tall skeleton yelp in surprise before quickly lying flat and hugging Frisk as he used his magic to toss the blanket over himself and the child as if they were trying to pretend to be ghosts. Frisk continued to giggle, amused by the tall skeleton's silliness and Ink was wheezing with laughter, about to collapse on the ground.

PreciousTale Grillby was chuckling, as was his alternate self while Refract covered his mouth to hide his laughter and Error just grinned. "Looks like I have to res-rescue the prin-princess," he said before grabbing part of the blanket with his strings and flinging the blanket upwards to reveal the skeleton and child before he scooped up Frisk and turned to run, but Stretch reached out and playfully tackled the shorter skeleton, who curled up around Frisk to keep her from getting hurt.

"Give the princess back, you knave," Stretch said playfully.

"Never, you fiend!" Error said just as playfully. "She's my prison-prisoner now!"

Frisk giggled before reaching out for Refract, who was nearby. "Save me, noble knight!" She called out playfully.

He chuckled before getting into character. "Avast, you two knaves! The princess is mine!" He said before 'rushing' over to 'save' Frisk.

Ink was now rolling on the floor with laughter and Charlotte had to sit down because she was laughing too hard to stand up. Lullaby Grillby managed to not lose focus on breakfast as he laughed and PreciousTale Grillby chuckled while watching the playful moment.

Stretch managed to wiggle his fingers into Error's ribs, making him squeal in surprise and let go of Frisk right before Refract kneeled beside them and helped Stretch tickle Error's ribs before the alternate Gaster reached over and tickled the alternate Papyrus' spine, making him laugh and try to squirm away.

Frisk giggled as she saw this before feeling warm fingers wiggle into her neck, making her squeak and scrunch up her shoulders to protect her neck. "That's not going to save you, little one," PreciousTale Grillby cooed playfully as he tickled her.

Lullaby Grillby cleared his throat. "Breakfast time!" He called out to them.

Refract let Stretch and Error get up, both taking a moment to recover while PreciousTale Grillby scooped Frisk up into his arms, holding her in a hug as she let out a few last giggles while settling down. Charlotte helped her mate get back on his feet and they sat down to enjoy the delicious food before them. Frisk perked up after a bit. "I want to help the timeline Stretch is from," she said.

"Underswap?" Ink said, smiling.

"Yeah," she said. "It's like my world, but everyone has swapped personalities, right?"

"Yes," Charlotte said. "For example, where did you meet your mom, Queen Toriel, first?"

"In the Ruins," Frisk said. "Asgore was in the palace."

"In my world, Asgore is the keeper of the Ruins," Stretch said. "And Toriel is in the palace."

"And the child who is like me is Chara, right?"

"Correct," the tall skeleton said. "Just fair warning, kiddo. Even if I'm with you, some of the monsters may be a bit wary because of your name and appearance."

"What if I'm standing next to Chara?" She asked.

"Hmm. That might help a little," Ink said.

Frisk then perked up. "Maybe I can help the Frisk in your world, Stretch," she said. "If I could help the Muffet and Toriel of Lullaby Tale, then I'm sure I can help someone who just doesn't want to be forgotten."

Refract smiled. "I'm sure you can too, little one," he said.

"I'll take you to my timeline after we're done breakfast," Stretch promised.

A few hours later, the tall skeleton entered the portal with Frisk following him and Charlotte was with them too while Lullaby Grillby stood guard near the portal with his alternate self. Underswap Sans was first to spot them and he looked wary at seeing Frisk, who hid behind Stretch, looking nervous.

Blue, seeing her reaction, relaxed a bit, seeing how scared she was and it made him remember when Chara has been afraid of him. He came closer and kneeled down, smiling at Frisk. "You must be the child I've been hearing so much about," he said, his voice kind. "Will you come out, kiddo? I won't hurt you."

Stretch stood still and gazed down at Frisk, who looked up at him with uncertainty. He smiled at her. "It's okay, kiddo," he said.

She stepped out from behind him, going up to Blue, her steps cautious. He waited patiently as she got closer to him. She was soon in front of him and he gave her a hug. She instantly relaxed and hugged him back, to which he picked her up. "I can tell you're not at all like the one that haunts our Chara," he said.

Frisk looked at him. "I can help her," she said. "I think she's just scared that no one will remember her."

"You think so?" He asked curiously.

She nodded and he took her inside the house with the other two following. Chara was a bit startled at first, but after Stretch calmed her down, she became fast friends with Frisk. "So you can stop the Resets?" She asked.

"I think so?" Frisk said, unsure. "I mean...the other timelines haven't had a Reset yet, have they?"

"No," Stretch said reassuringly. "Seems when you healed the timelines, you also stopped the Resets."

The child nodded. "Okay," she said before taking a deep breath. "I can do this."

Chara took her friend's hands. "I believe in you," she said.

Smiling, Frisk's hands glowed and the adults watched in awe as the magic washed over everything. Stretch gasped as it washed over him. "I...I can feel it healing," he said in awe."

"I can too," Blue said, stunned.

Charlotte smiled. "Because Frisk is unselfish," she said.

After a bit, a child much like Frisk appeared in ghost form and looked panicked. "What are you doing?!" She asked. "Stop!"

Blue immediately grabbed onto Underswap Frisk, able to hold onto her as she became more tangible. "Shh," he soothed her.

"No! No! She's going to destroy everything!" The child panicked, tears running down her face. "She'll destroy me!"

Frisk turned to her panicking alternate self and reached out for her. The sobbing child tried to escape Blue's arms, but he didn't let her go. "No!" She screamed out, afraid.

Frisk gently touched her counterpart's forehead. "It's okay," she said. "I'm not going to destroy you. I'm going to heal you."

She closed her eyes as her hands glowed brighter, the frightened child in Blue's arms shivering in fear before the glow died down and Frisk smiled. "I think it's done," she said.

Stretch closed his eyes and smiled. "It is," he said before hugging Frisk. "You did it, kiddo. You healed our timeline."

Tears fell from his eyesockets and she hugged him back. Blue smiled and Chara happily cheered. Underswap Frisk looked shocked that she wasn't a ghost anymore and she fell to her knees after Blue gently set her down. Frisk, noticing this, went up to her counterpart, who was still crying.

The sobbing child looked up at her as Frisk kneeled down and pulled her counterpart into a hug. Shocked, the sobbing child froze before fresh tears filled her eyes and she hugged Frisk tightly, trembling again. "It's okay," Frisk soothed her. "You're safe now."

Chara went up to them and hugged the girl who had once been a spirit. "I forgive you, Frisk," she said softly.

The sobbing child began to cry harder, her shoulders shaking with each sob that escaped her. Blue and Stretch both kneeled down and hugged the three girls comfortingly while Charlotte watched, a few tears escaping her eyes as she watched Underswap Frisk accept the gentle hugs and words for the first time in a long time.

After almost an hour, the alternate Frisk stopped crying, sniffling as she felt exhausted. "Why, Frisk?" She asked, looking at her doppleganger. "Why did you show me mercy?"

"Because even you deserve a second chance and a happy ending too," she said. "Plus, I promised Refract that I'd use my powers to help everyone."

"Refract?"

"An alternate Gaster from the OceanPatch timeline," Charlotte answered, her tone gentle.

Frisk looked at Blue and Stretch. "Promise me you'll take care of her?" She asked. "Give her the same family love and affection that you give Chara?"

"We will," Blue promised, smiling at her. "And thank you, little one."

"Thank you for healing out timeline," Stretch said before looking at Charlotte. "Is it okay if I still stick around for a bit? At least until we can get Volcano to see reason?"

The author nodded. "Brother," Blue said, looking up at the taller skeleton. "Please be careful. And return home safely. We still need you."

"I will, bro," Stretch promised as Classic Frisk stood up along with Chara, both helping Underswap Frisk to her feet. As the girl who could heal timelines went up to Charlotte, Stretch kneeled down before the girl that had just been saved. "Frisk," he said, keeping his tone gentle. She flinched a little, but looked up at him. "Be good and mind Blue, okay?"

She nodded. "O-Okay," she said shakliy before looking at him. "I'm...I'm really sorry, Papyrus."

"I know, baby bones," he said, gently wiping away her tears. The gentle touch surprised her and she looked at him before hugging him. He was surprised, but returned the hug tightly. "I promise you're safe, kiddo. Just do me a favor and don't stray from the right path."

She nodded. "Be careful," she said to him. "I...I saw Volcano before I arrived when my doppleganger was healing our timeline and...he looks really angry. I think I saw him go into the Classic Timeline portal."

He nodded. "Okay, we will," he said before handing her to Blue, who accepted her and comforted the child with Chara also comforting her.

When the three exited the portal with Lullaby Grillby behind him, he and his counterpart placed the protective spell and fiery chains on the portal. Charlotte looked around and to her surprise, there was only two timelines left. "Only two left," she said. "Two more days, give or take."

"And no Volcano anywhere," Stretch said. "Frisk, how many timelines can you heal in a day?"

"Well, I can do two, but it drains me," she admitted.

"I hate to ask this, but...do you think you can heal them both tomorrow?" He asked. "I don't want to give Volcano a chance to damage either of these last two timelines before you can fix them."

"But she'll be exhausted afterwards," Lullaby Grillby said.

"Which is why I'm going to talk to a couple friends," the tall skeleton said. "We're going to need a few more allies."

"Perhaps we can be two of those allies?"

The group looked to see Dream and Nightmare behind them, though Nightmare was not in his corrupted form. "We've been watching you," the latter said. "And we want to help."

"But...I haven't fixed your timeline yet," Frisk said, which was the truth.

"It's okay," Dream said reassuringly. "We know you will soon, but we still want to help out."

"Count me in too," said Lullaby Sans, better known as Caramel, as he came out too.

"Looks like we got a full house," Charlotte said, smiling.

PreciousTale Grillby nodded. "Welcome to the team," he said.

Alright! Dream and Nightmare have arrived too, along with Caramel. :)
