It was a long anxious day for the scientists, awaiting when their prize would wake up.
"It's getting close to sunset. Should we blindfold him to keep him calm? Or tie his mouth shut?" A tech asked.
"Blindfold him but I want to hear his voice as we do this before he gets knocked out for the operation." The doc ordered. "I want him pressed on first while he's awake and for him to feel it." A large bandana was quickly applied over Brooklyn's eyes as the sun was going down.
As the sun finally set, there was a cracking in the stone skin of the beaked male. Brooklyn roared to life as he always did first thing. But there was something wrong. His eyes were glowing like usual, but he wasn't seeing anything.
"Agh! What's going on? Goliath? Anyone? I can't see." Brooklyn tried to see what was going on. He tried moving his arms and legs, but they wouldn't move, feeling something holding him down. He felt metal against his back. His feet weren't touching the floor so he knew he must have been lying on a table or something.
"That's the whole point, Monster. We don't want you to see us right now." Came a cold male voice.
That voice sent a shiver down Brooklyn's spine. "Who are you? Where am I?" he demanded.
"You are in my lab. As to who we are, you may call us doctors. And you are now ours."
Brooklyn's breathing began to speed up. "What do you want?"
"Just a little something that only you can give us, over the coming months. You will learn to cooperate with us, or there will be consequences. You are not ever going home again."
"NO! Let me go!" Brooklyn panicked. He began to struggle violently.
To the humans, seeing their prisoner struggle was making it all the more worth to do this to him. The doctor eyed his stomach as he moved about. "Oh, you're not getting loose without us setting you free." He said.
Brooklyn grunted as he tried to free himself, but the man was right. The cuffs binding him down were too strong. He soon stopped, breathing hard in a panic. "Oh, what… what are you going to do?" he asked in a scared tone.
"A special experiment, and I mean, very special. But first, we need a little exam on you. A certain part of your body." The doc explained.
"What kind of exam?"
"You'll feel it. Could have been done while you were out, but this is better."
Brooklyn gulped. He was scared out of his wits, and he had just woken up. He didn't want to admit he was scared, but the humans had obviously figured it out by his actions. Since he couldn't move to defend himself, not even his tail, there was nothing he could do but lay there.
"Please, whatever you're doing, don't do this." Brook pleaded.
"I will do whatever I please to do with you. I have much funding for what you are going to provide for us."
"Which is what?"
"Time to get the exam done now, Red."
Brooklyn expected to feel probably something of cold metal being felt on his chest like he had seen on tv exams before on plain simple exams, at least at first before feeling anything else. But he didn't feel that. The first thing he felt were some cold hands beginning to touch the left side of his stomach.
"Ah!" Brook yelped. The hands began to press inward on his belly. It was beginning to hurt. He bared his teeth in pain. The man was feeling for the stomach, then moved on to the right side, feeling the pancreas and liver. He was just feeling for himself to see how easy the organs could be felt after the MRI last night. Then he went directly to the middle, feeling the small intestine.
The pain was the greatest in the middle. "Oh, stop!" Brooklyn gasped, trying hard to breathe.
"This is just getting interesting, Red. No way."
Brooklyn tried moving his body to get him to stop. Wincing, he tried twisting his middle to the right, but the man kept him still, he pulled him back over. "No, you don't."
"Oh, please stop!" Brooklyn pleaded as it continued.
"Hurts, does it?" The doc mocked him. He responded by pushing harder. It made Brooklyn freeze in pain. Then it continued all over as the man moved all around, feeling all the organs. He felt even lower than where his belt would usually be. But he could feel it was still on him, it was just the lowest area of his belly that he was pressing on.
It finally stopped and Brooklyn could finally relax his body again. Taking some deep breaths, he felt some pain inside his belly. So that was what he wanted. A chill went through his stomach.
"So, you know what I want now?"
"Yes, but what could… it offer?"
"More than you know. Studies of your kind. Digestion for instance."
"I won't eat anything you offer me."
"Oh, but that can be dealt with too. We can easily force feed you."
"NO!" Brooklyn yelled, trying again.
"Is the device ready?" The doc then asked one of the techs.
"It's ready, Sir."
"Good. Get him ready then. Knock him out."
"No, I won't let you do this!" Brooklyn struggled some more.
"You can't even get free, so how would you stop us?" One man mocked him.
Brooklyn never imagined that he would be captured just for this. He could die during whatever they were planning to do with his insides. It kept him squirming. Nausea swarmed his belly. He wanted to just get away. Where was Goliath when he needed him?
The next thing he felt was a sharp poke in his bicep. It made him yelp in pain. It got him to stop squirming. "Don't… dooo… this…" Brooklyn started to go under the drug. Next, he was out again.
"Take the bandana off now." The doc ordered.
It was. He wanted to see the gargoyle asleep. His beak had a deep frown. Next began the preparation for the operation. The device holding two fertilized eggs was ready.
When the sterilization was done and putting a tube in his throat down into his lungs, then gloves were on, the doctors began the surgery of opening up the red male's abdominal cavity. They had to find the right spot for the device to be tied up.
They took mental notes of the internal organs they were looking at. As much as the incision could have been a small one, the doctors had to make sure they found the right spot for this to take place. It was down in the lower section of the belly.
"Wouldn't it be interesting if it was tied onto the intestine?" One man joked.
"That wouldn't be good. It would likely kill him. Even though it's likely in the future, I don't want him to die yet." The boss man decreed.
The boss selected to stitch and tie down the device directly to a flap of muscle in the belly wall called the omentum. He used some tough stitches. The resulting embryos would grow outward toward the organs, but given how thin this male was, he would likely show within a few months. When it was done, the skin was sewed closed.
"Are we going to bandage the wound?" One of the men asked.
"No. I want to see the wound in him." The doc smirked evilly. "Take him to the cage and bind him down. But I don't want him to tear the stitches."
The doctor likely didn't know the advantage of Brooklyn's stone sleep healing the wounds. But Brook would be in for a long night of pain when he woke up.
He was taken to the cage and new cuffs were put on his wrists. Chains from two different angles held them in place. His other limbs were going to be loose. They would also burn or shock him if he tried to take them off or attack. They were also tight on his wrists.
Brooklyn was laid on his back on a mattress for now. There was a toilet in the cell with him but that was it. The chains allowed him just enough room to move about. The cage had bars on it. He could just barely reach them.
The doctors left the gargoyle to wake up for now. They wanted to see how he was when he woke up. He had been given no pain medication. Now it was just a timed release of the embryos. The device would hold the part of an artificial womb for them.
….
Back at the castle, when Brooklyn didn't come home as they thought he would, the clan got worried and began to look for him.
Goliath hoped that Brooklyn hadn't chosen to run away again. He had been a little hard on him lately. But he could have been captured too. He would let Elisa know too as he went by her apartment.
The others all split up to find him. But without knowing which way he had gone; it was going to be a lot harder to find him. But they weren't going to give up on him. They just hoped he hadn't been smashed in his sleep either.
Perhaps they would even try his kid friends who had helped him before. They would start there and check some of the Trio's other hiding spots. But they hoped to find him in one piece.
…..
Brooklyn soon came to after his surgery and he found he was lying down on a mattress. The one thing he felt was instant pain in his stomach. Then he remembered his belly being pressed on and that he had been captured. He also noticed the new cuffs on his wrists. When he tried to get up, pain shot through him, and he had to lay down again. But he had a look down at his belly and saw a long line of stitches across his belly.
Who knows what those maniacs did to me while I was out. Brooklyn sadly said to himself. He hoped they hadn't screwed his guts up. He would find it hard to eat ever again.
Brooklyn found that at least he could move his limbs again. He raised his legs up to help give some comfort from the nausea. He wasn't going to tear the stitches out by any means, but he put his hands on his belly to try to soothe the nausea. This was going to be a long night.
He also looked at his new quarters. It would be big enough to go to the length of the chains and there were bars. He could at least see again. He had to know who his captors were. He also had to find a way out of here. But maybe his clan would discover where he was. He sure hoped so.
Brooklyn wanted so much to get out and flee this facility, wherever he was. But it was impossible right now due to the injury. The red gargoyle was in too much pain to move let alone fight. He had to take some deep breaths to try to get some of the nausea under control. It was obvious he hadn't had any pain medicine.
From the cameras, the doctor was seeing the gargoyle was awake. He grinned at seeing it. His hands on his stomach. This was just the first step. Tomorrow, he would release the embryos. But while he was in the early stages, he also wanted tests run on him again. Such as the rate of healing ability.
In his cell, Brooklyn bared his teeth in pain, eyes closed, hands clutching his aching stomach. Oh! What did I do to deserve this? He thought in his mind. He knew his body hurt but he didn't want to be flat on his back like this. He began to try to move despite his belly protesting. One hand he kept on it while just trying to move, to sit up.
It hurt to move period. Brooklyn just couldn't get anywhere with the pain he felt. Even moving onto his side was hard. He had no choice but to remain on his back. He hoped his clan would find him. He would have to be carried bridal style right now.
For most of the rest of the night, Brooklyn could just lie on the mattress and breathe, trying to get comfortable. He moved his legs up and down. Bending his knees helped ease the discomfort a little bit. He was also glad that he wasn't offered any food either, as he wasn't in any mood to eat. Sunrise couldn't come soon enough. He felt like he had been stabbed internally, like it kept on happening.
Brooklyn really wanted to be standing at sunrise, but he was so sore he couldn't move much. He just hoped the humans wouldn't harm him in his sleep. He soon turned to stone.
