The next night, while waiting for breakfast being served, David gave Brook his hormones and vitamins. But he thought more about it and he wanted to talk to someone else before he told the clan of his big news. The next best one to know would possibly be Elisa. Being a woman, she might likely understand better of his situation despite having never been pregnant.

When breakfast was called upon, Brooklyn ate a few crackers first to get his stomach ready to eat some other foods. He was lucky that he wasn't feeling nauseated right now. A lot of pregnant women usually were at this stage in the 6th or 7th week. It was incredible how tiny the embryos were inside him and they could make an expecting parent really sick. How could something so small make their parent so sick? But he was willing to do it.

After breakfast, Brooklyn wanted to talk to Elisa. He had to find her before Goliath did. She wasn't here tonight, but it made the red male sneak outside and take off from the castle. He flew to her apartment first, hoping she would be home.

Luckily, he saw her lights on. She must have been home. He landed and knocked on her window. Then opened it. "Hello? Anyone home?" he called.

"Brooklyn? Is that you?" Elisa called from her bedroom.

"Yeah, Elisa, it's me. I have something to talk to you about." He said as he climbed inside.

Elisa came out of her room, dressed. "This is an unusual meeting, Brooklyn. What brings you by?" she asked.

"Elisa, I have something to tell the clan eventually, but I wanted you to know first. This would seem more like a female thing, but aside from the Xanatos family, I have no one else to turn to." Brook began his explanation.

"What's a female thing? Are you wanting advice to get a girl to like you?" Elisa smiled.

"No! Not this time, Elisa. It's something else and it has to do with what happened to me in the lab." Brook exclaimed.

"Alright. I'm listening." Elisa replied.

"And please don't judge me if this is wrong, but I would like advice when I'm done explaining." He said.

"Alright, go on." Elisa encouraged.

They both sat down on the couch in the living room. Brooklyn felt butterflies in his stomach and his heart was pounding fast at being nervous to even tell her. She was like a mother figure to him oftentimes.

Elisa saw that he was breathing fast, meaning he was really nervous about something. She had never known the red male to be like this so much. "Calm down, Brooklyn. Take a few deep breaths, then tell me what's going on." She instructed.

He did as he was told then began. "Elisa, as you know, I was in that lab and even though Xanatos got me out, he didn't get me out before those awful men could do experiments on me. There's one in particular that will have lasting effects on me and the clan." Brooklyn explained.

"What kind of effects?" Elisa asked curiously.

"Most of the effects of the other tests were nothing compared to this one. I only just found out the other day. Dr. Sato came by the castle and he and Xanatos came with me to the medical area there and had me examined. Sato pressed on my belly and did an ultrasound. Xanatos had also been giving me hormones I found out."

"Hormones? For what?!" Elisa snapped. "You don't need hormones!"

"Wait, I haven't finished."

"Okay." Elisa was steamed that that big jerk had been giving Brooklyn anything like that.

"Elisa, the hormones have evidently been supporting something unusual in my body. The scientists had also opened up my belly at one point and done something to me. The main boss was also obsessed with my belly with the way he liked to press on it when he had me tied down, and I found out why. Elisa, he managed to…" Brook trailed off.

"Do what?"

The red male looked up at her with sad eyes. "Elisa, I'm… pregnant." He put a hand over his stomach.

Elisa couldn't believe what she just heard. That was impossible. "You know that can't happen, Brooklyn, not to a male."

"I know, Elisa, but it's true. The ultrasound confirmed it." Brooklyn took the sonogram out of his belt and gave it to her. "It's all still early yet."

The detective took the sonogram picture and held it up to the light. On it, she could see two embryos in their little sacs. This was something alarming but a miracle. She brought it down.

"I also heard their heartbeats." Brooklyn declared.

Elisa knew that anything was possible when scientists got involved. After all, having her brother turned into a mutated cat and bat creature proved that. And Thailog and the clones' creations. But this wasn't cloning. Brooklyn was growing two embryos in his stomach!

"Brooklyn, this is way different than you and the clan being cloned. Are you aware of what this means for you?" Elisa asked.

"Yes. I was experimented on, but at the same time, I'm going to be a father." Brooklyn replied.

"We don't know if this could actually be another cloning either, Brooklyn. You don't exactly have a uterus to be able to carry them efficiently. Carrying these two embryos will be dangerous for you and them." Elisa explained in concern.

"I'm perfectly aware I don't have a uterus, Elisa. But this is why I wanted to talk to you first. I figure things are going to get heated when I tell the others. I just need someone on my side first, especially with Goliath. Look, Elisa, I know this is a risk, but after seeing them on the ultrasound and hearing their hearts beating, and reading about pregnancy, I just… can't bring myself to harm them even though this shouldn't be happening." Brooklyn explained. He looked up at her. "I'll do what I have to do protect them. These are my children. As a woman, you must understand. I know you haven't had kids yet like Fox had Alex, but Elisa, this is a miracle for our clan. We need some new members added with as small as our clan is."

"And there will be, when you finally find that dream girl you've been longing for." Elisa replied.

"That's still a long time away, Elisa. I can't, and I won't kill these innocent babies." Brooklyn got more furious. "Please, Elisa, can you help me talk to the clan?"

"Brooklyn, this is so risky for your health. But if you do this, it will mean a lot of sacrifices while you carry them. You can't patrol or fight anymore. You have to watch what you eat and drink, you have to stay off your feet a lot more, no going out to movies in the public, and so on. You would have to avoid stress in your condition. There's so much at stake to your condition. And those men might even want you back too." Elisa explained.

"I'm more than willing to take it easy for a few months. I'll do anything to get my babies to term. Gargoyle babies usually hatch from eggs but I don't know yet if these are going to be eggs or live birth."

"You won't be able to give birth naturally either. You would have to have a c-section." Elisa said.

"What's that?"

"Stomach surgery to get them out of you. Twin pregnancy will also take a lot out of you, Brooklyn. All your food and energy will go to the twins." Elisa explained.

What she was saying made a lot of sense, but he would do anything for his upcoming babies. "I'll do whatever it takes to take care of them, Elisa. I promise." He replied.

Elisa could see and hear the sentiment in Brook's voice that he was trying to be a devoted father already to get started even though it would be several months before the twins made an appearance to the world. He also didn't have a partner to be able to help him.

"I know you're still young in the ways of the world, but you have shown that you are maturing, Brooklyn. You were evidently a great leader while we were gone. And I hear a mature reasoning in your voice that you are wanting to take this new parenthood on despite how it happened. A lot of people would just consider terminating a pregnancy that was forced on them. You in no way asked for it." Elisa declared.

"No, I didn't. But if they bred me for these babies, they would have used them for science experiments. I won't have that! And not on me either."

"Brooklyn, I once told Goliath when we first met Thailog that he was like his son despite how he was created." Elisa said.

"Well, I'm sorry, but I won't see my clone that way. He's a clone to me, not my son." Brooklyn retorted. "These are my babies. He might be a part of me, but I want nothing to do with him."

"I understand that he hurt you. He attacked you on your first meeting." Elisa stated.

"Yes, because he was employed by Thailog and Demona. I know they aren't mates anymore. And I'll kill him if he so much as tries to harm my children!" Brooklyn snarled, eyes flaring white.

"Calm down, Brooklyn." Elisa put a hand on his wrist.

The red gargoyle sighed as he calmed down and his eyes returned to normal. "I also don't want Demona or Thailog finding out about my twins." He said.

"Or Dr. Sevarius for that matter."

"Oh please, don't mention him either." Brooklyn felt like his heart skipped a beat. It would be a disaster if Sevarius found out about his pregnancy.

"Sorry. Just had to clear the air, but yes, all precautions must be made so the bad guys don't find out about the twins." Elisa declared. "Yes, Brooklyn, I'll help you tell the clan. When do you want to tell them?"

"I need a few more nights. I'm still coming to terms myself and want to get a feel of parenthood first." Brooklyn said.

"Do you feel any different? Do you feel alright? Nausea or anything?" Elisa asked.

"I'm fine right now. I was nervous but I feel better now that we have talked. I just needed you to know before I told the clan. I know how Goliath can be. He can be so stubborn to accept something new or scary." Brook explained.

"Yes, I know."

"But he often seems to listen to you when he won't listen to the rest of us, except for Hudson."

"I'll do the best I can to help explain it to him if he blows his temper or anything, but I'm sure once the clan gets over the shock of you being pregnant, being a male, that they'll be glad to welcome new life into the clan. Like you said, they would welcome new babies with how small the clan is." Elisa smiled.

"Thanks, Elisa, for understanding." Brooklyn gave a smile too.

"You're welcome, Brooklyn. I'll be over in a few nights to help explain what's going on. I have some big work assignments until then after tonight." Elisa declared.

"Alright. So, Friday then?"

"Yep." The woman replied.

Brooklyn hugged her after he stood up. He wasn't always prone to hugging Elisa like Broadway or Goliath would want to, but he was just so grateful she was willing to stand by him. Xanatos would likely also stand by him considering he knew about the pregnancy before he himself did.

Brooklyn knew that he needed to get home before his clan noticed he was gone. He left right after. He snuck back into the castle on the backside of the wall and got to his bedroom. There, he started reading again. In the book, he definitely wanted to get to the six-week marker. There was so much he was learning from this book.

He would do whatever it took to have these babies healthy and happy. He would even be willing to leave the clan if he had to if they weren't going to accept them. Brooklyn was still really worried about how they would take it. Of course, he still remembered when Angela was first brought home and how everyone accepted her right away. Why wouldn't they accept his babies once the shock wore off?

Brooklyn took some deep breaths to relax his mind. He knew he had to be brave to face his clan. But should he tell them now, or wait until he was further along, when he might have official proof if his stomach was getting rounder? No, waiting till then was too long. He didn't want to be fessing over the pregnancy that long. He would likely be showing in just a couple months if not sooner. With twins, and he was quite a skinny male to begin with. His belly would reveal his condition sooner than he liked most likely.

You must be anxious for the clan to find out soon, but it will happen soon I promise.
