Ethan laid in the living room, he had been tossing and turning all night. Reliving that phone call with his mum.
Flashback
"Ethan, please I've got to let him go." Holly sobbed, feeling so unbelievably broken.
"Go back, mother! Don't have me ruin this for you. You love Robert, right?" Ethan knew the answer but was also trying to get through to her.
"With all of my...broken heart." Holly wiped her tears with her hands, destroyed and defeated.
"Go back!" Ethan pleaded he didn't want her to give up more for him.
"No, I also love you my darling...he said were not compatible but we were...we are." Holly didn't mean to unload on Ethan but she was so completely broken.
"He loves you, he loves you more than anything. Go back." Ethan told her in a calm tone.
Holly remained silent for a moment besides some sniffles. "I'll figure this out. I love you." Holly ended their call.
Ethan once again didn't get to say he loved her, he texted her but it wasn't the same.
End flashback
Ethan sighed as he sat up, giving up on sleep. He had gotten a couple of hours. He looked at his phone, a quick selfie the two had snapped before he left her in Port Charles.
Robert saw the picture and immediately smiled at the sight of two of the people he loved most in the world. "Can you text me that?"
Ethan jumped, startled by Robert's voice. "Of course. You sleep good?" He asked.
Robert shook his head no. "Better than you from the looks of it though."
Ethan sighed and ran his hand over his face. "What if I wasted valuable time trying to find her on my own?"
"You didn't." Robert's matter of fact tone was reassuring.
"I just want her safe and happy." Ethan told him.
Robert gave him a nod. "That's what we're going to make sure of."
Ethan appreciated the father role Robert always took with him, while he did have a bond with Luke it was much different. "What's our first move?"
