"Well, well look who's finally realized Holly was missing." The distorted voice said with a gleeful laugh.
"What have you done with her?" Robert demanded to know.
"What I should have done ages ago. When I realized she was your weak spot...oh wait I kind of did." Another distorted gleeful laugh. "That accident in 87, you two really haven't been on track since."
The color drained from Robert's face as he was faced with the fact it was his fault once again. "Don't hurt her, your problem is with me."
"No my problem became her when she wouldn't just go away. All these obstacles I tried to use to wreck you and they didn't. You even accepted her bastard son." The annoyance in the voice was noticeable.
"Ethan is a part of her. I love her and him." Robert stated. "What do you want here?" Robert asked.
"Simple revenge." The voice told him. "That's all I've ever wanted."
"Let me talk to her. I want to know she is alright." Robert pleaded, he had to know she was okay. He knew she wasn't gone, he could feel it.
The distorted voice clicked on Holly's mic. "Holly? Say hello to Robert." They put it on speaker phone.
"Holly, are you okay Luv?" Robert asked wanting to let her know it was really him.
Holly heard Robert's voice and jolted up in the bed. "Robert! Is it really..."
The woman cut off her mic. "You know she's alive, happy?"
"I want to know more, I need to know that she's okay!" Robert needed to hear more from her.
"Scorpio, you are playing by my rules. I'll be in touch." The call was ended.
"Hello, hello?" Robert sighed, moving his cell phone away from his ear.
"What do they want?" Ethan asked, he could only hear Robert's end of the conversation.
"Revenge against me. I heard her Ethan. Only for a moment but she seemed so happy to hear my voice." Robert was relieved to hear her voice, he would do anything to hear it longer, to let her know she was gonna be okay. Knowing she had been a target since the eighties because of him weighed heavy on him. "I'm sorry Ethan."
"For what? You couldn't have had her talk to me. You barely spoke to her." Ethan had no clue why Robert was apologizing to him.
"This woman has been after her since the eighties because of me. She's wanted to see her hurt because of me." Robert looked at his phone. His wallpaper was that happy picture of the two of them, taken last year.
Ethan shook his head, no way was this person going to win. "My mother has had some of the happiest moments in her life because of you. She always tells me how she longs for the life you two shared when you lived here in the eighties. The normalcy of it all. Her face has always lit up telling me stories of you two. How much you love her and how safe you have always made her feel. Don't let this sociopath have this power to wreck you two. Are we going go rescue mum just to have you break her heart?"
Robert knew Ethan was right and quite frankly he was tired of living this humdrum life without her. "Never, I couldn't ever love any other woman the way I love her. She's part of my soul and the biggest part of my heart."
"That's what I want to hear." Ethan gave Robert a pat on his back. "Let's keep looking for clues."
Robert went back to the tape. He was able to get a better view of the car she was put into. He zoomed in on the license plate.
Holly's location
Holly felt a current run through her hearing Robert's voice. She wanted more than just a few seconds but knew pleading would do nothing. She kept smiling thinking about his voice, replaying it in her head.
"Holly, are you okay Luv?"
Five words that gave her more determination. He knew she was kidnapped, Robert had never quit on her, especially knowing she was alive and she knew this would be no different.
She laid back in the bed, her mind flashing back to last fall.
Flashback
They had just kicked off their plan to fool Victor and make it so Holly could go rescue Ethan. Robert was sitting on the bed while Holly was standing.
Robert had taken the briefcase off. "I need to look more disheveled."
Holly without thinking started to unbutton his shirt.
Robert froze, looking at the woman he loved more than life itself. He was about to lose her again. He placed his hand on hers. "Go on."
Holly looked into his eyes, undoing each button, her hands sliding into his shirt once it was undone. Her eyes never left his.
Robert felt an incredible sensation running through his body from her touch. He leaned in and captured her lips.
Holly couldn't break away, this was the hold they had on each other. With the truth out she wanted more than anything to be with him but knew their time was limited. She had to escape Victor and save Ethan. Still she wanted this to last, her hands kept exploring his chest while their lips meshed together.
Robert's arms found their way around Holly's waist, in a quick movement he moved her onto the bed, falling deeper into the kiss he never wanted to end.
End of flashback
Holly was snapped out of her flashback by the distorted voice. "Miss. Sutton?"
