Robert and Holly went to Ethan's room, Holly having the IV tower with her. She was still getting fluids. The doctor explained that they removed the bullet but Ethan had yet to regain consciousness. Holly went over to Ethan, sitting in a chair nearby. She took his hand into hers.

"I can't believe she shot him like that. No hesitation." Holly was fighting back tears, it brought back flashbacks of what happened to Paloma.

Robert pulled a chair over near her. "Cassadines are poison, I just wish we weren't here. I wish she hadn't messed with our lives so much. I wanted to give you that family, those years of a happy marriage."

Holly cut him off. "You gave me a lot of happy years and not just in the 80s. When we got back together in the 2010s and we rediscovered each other. She can't take that from us, ever." Holly stated, taking his hand with her free one.

Robert nodded, he knew Holly was right. "Do you know when he was conceived?" He whispered not wanting Ethan to overhear them if he woke up.

Holly spoke quietly as well. "Our fourth anniversary."

Robert grinned at the memory of that night, of course they conceived him then. "Shower, bed, wall, bed again?" Robert whispered teasingly.

Holly playfully hit him and looked at Ethan. "All I know is our boy has to be okay."

Robert took his other hand. "He will be. He's got a hell of a lot of fight in him."

"He gets a lot of that from his father." Holly looked over at Robert.

Laura tapped on the door. "Yes he does, Luke would be so proud of how brave he is."

Robert and Holly looked at her then back at each other.

"Laura we need to talk." Robert said, standing up. "You want to do this with me?" He asked Holly.

Holly stood up. "Annie could you stay with Ethan please?" Holly asked.

"Of course." Annie went to the other side of him, pulling a chair up.

The hall

Robert, Holly and Laura went out to the hall. Laura held the bag she had up. "I got fresh clothes for both of you and Kevin made some sandwiches."

Holly smiled. "That was very kind of him, do thank him for us."

Laura nodded then looked at Robert. "What's up?"

"Diane told us a truth you need to hear about." Robert said, looking over at Holly. "Do you want me to tell her?"

Holly shook her head and took a deep breath. "I got it. Diane is Mikkos' child, to seek revenge on all of us she implanted memories of the affair with Luke in my head and his. It didn't happen."

Laura was shocked. "Are you serious? Why?"

"Some sort of sick, twisted revenge for her father." Robert said with an annoyed tone.

"There is more though. She made sure you stayed in that catatonic state. She wanted Luke to move on. She wanted to destroy all of us." Holly said, looking back at Ethan.

"She failed and now she's going to pay for everything she stole from us. Is that what she was trying to tell Ethan?" Laura asked.

Robert nodded. "I couldn't let her, I couldn't take that from him."

Laura reached out to squeeze Robert's hand. "You are a good man, Ethan is lucky to have you." She looked over at Holly. "I never wanted to see the worst in you. We were friends. We are friends."

Holly gave a half smile. "I am just sorry those memories came into play and made people think the worst. I never understood it."

"Neither did I. Not only were Luke and I in love but I saw you and Robert. You were each other world." Laura sincerely stated.

"Still are." Robert looked at Holly.

Holly smiled lovingly at him.

Inside Ethan's room

Annie took Ethan's hand into hers, brushing his blond hair our of his face. "You look so helpless. Kind of like when we first met. I'm really glad your mom is still alive. I know how much that destroyed you thinking she was gone." Annie held onto his hand. "You've got to wake up. Not only for her, Robert and everyone that cares about you but for..."

Before she could finish Robert, Holly and Laura walked back in.

"For who?" Holly asked while she took the seat she was in before. Clearly there was more to Ethan and Annie's story than she knew.
