Mac texted Robert, letting him know Diane was insisting on talking to Holly. Robert told him to tell her to go to hell but he also wanted to give Holly a choice, he knew so much had been stolen from both of them that she definitely had a right to have it out with Diane.
"Can I speak to you a minute?" Robert asked Holly.
Holly looked over at Ethan. "I'll be right back." She got up and walked with Robert out into the hall. "What's wrong?" She asked.
"Diane is insisting on speaking to you. I told Mac no but I realize this is your call." Robert said as he took her hand in his.
Holly took a moment to try to think about what she should do. Part of her never wanted to see Diane again while the other part needed to tell her exactly how she felt, how watching her try to destroy something so solid did absolutely nothing. That she failed. "I'll do it. Not now, I want to wait to meet our granddaughter but I need to do this." Holly told Robert.
"I'll text Mac and tell him we will be by later." Robert pulled her into a hug.
Holly's arms wrapped around him, holding him tightly as she looked up at him. "Do you know how much I love you?"
Robert got a smile on his face while holding the love of his life close. "Quite a bit."
Holly gave him a kiss, a long lingering kiss before looking into his eyes. "More than that." She grinned.
"God I'm crazy about you." Robert's eyes sparkled as he looked deep into hers.
"The feeling is very mutual." She leaned in for another kiss then looked at him again. "Are you doing okay?" A look of concern had taken over her face. She knew Robert had been through a lot too but was so focused on her and Ethan he might be neglecting himself.
"Yeah. I won't say it's not a lot to take in and that I'm not a bit angry with myself but I got you back, Ethan and soon we are going to meet Seana who no doubt is going to have me wrapped around her finger just like her cousins." Robert's face lit up again speaking of his grandchildren.
Holly's face lit up just seeing all the love in Robert's. "You are such a great grandpa, such a great man but you do have to take care of yourself. Also you have no reason to be angry with yourself. You thought Diane was a friend. I let her get into my head too, convincing me I wasn't good enough for you.."
Robert cut Holly off. "That is ridiculous. There is no one in the world more perfect for me than you. You always have been and you always will be. I really do just exist when I don't have you around." He spoke truthfully and from the heart.
Holly stroked his cheek softly. "I love you. With all of my heart and soul."
Robert looked at her, so at ease and feeling at home. He always did with holly and despite everything going on things just felt so right. "I love you." He placed a kiss on her nose.
Holly grinned at him. "Let's get back in there with Ethan." She grabbed his hand.
Before they could go into the room Holly heard little footsteps running and a familiar voice from the past.
"Get back here!" The voice with just a bit of country twang shouted.
The little girl ran up to Robert, jumping in his arms.
