After making sure Holly was decent Robert opened the door, surprised by who stood in front of him. It was none other that Celia and Grant Andrews, two of their closest friends.
"Hi Robert." Celia looked over at the couch and saw Holly sitting on it. "Holly!" She exclaimed as she hurried over to hug her best friend.
Grant walked in too, shaking Robert's hand. "It's good to see both of you. What's it been since the wedding?" Grant thought back to 2017 when Celia and him had decided to remarry and asked Robert and Holly to join them as their witnesses.
"Something like that." Robert was still trying to wake up, he was happy to see his friends but Holly and him had had a long night, he was hoping to follow it up with some alone time just holding her this morning. He didn't want to come off too disappointed.
Holly hugged Celia tightly. "It's so good to see you! You too Grant." Holly was still trying to shake herself awake too but loved getting to see Celia and Grant.
Grant realized they interrupted something, noticing Robert and Holly not being so alert. "Hey Celia maybe we should let these two get their selves together and go get settled into our hotel room?"
"Grant! We just got here, I haven't seen Holly in ages." Celia replied, not letting go of Holly's hand.
"Maybe we could convince them to have dinner with us tonight?" Grant suggested, trying his hardest to help two of his oldest friends out.
"Yes I think we could do that. Unless Ethan needs us but we should be able to." Holly said, of course Ethan came first to Robert and Holly.
Celia noticed the buttons on Robert's pajama shirt Holly had on were messed up. "Oh.. OH! Yes, we should let them have some time together." Celia leaned into Holly and whispered. "I want details later." She stood up, looking down at Holly.
Robert smiled at them both. "We will see you both later." He said as Celia and Grant went out the door. He could tell they had caught on, especially Grant. He couldn't help but chuckle as he walked back over to Holly. He took the seat next to her and noticed she had gotten her buttons mixed up on the shirt of the pajamas. "Your buttons are a little messed up."
Holly looked down and blushed. "That's why her tune changed." Holly moved her hands to the shirt to fix it.
Robert placed his hand on hers. "You want some help?" He asked her, looking deep into her eyes.
Holly's eyes were locked on his. "What if I don't want it fixed?" Holly felt like the two of them had been kept apart so long, obstacle after obstacle to the point she thought their moment had passed, clearly that was not the case. She wanted to spend every moment she could in his arms, expressing her love for him.
Robert cocked his head to the side. "You would get no complaints from me." He unbuttoned the pajamas shirt. He felt the same way she did, he had longed for her over the years, missing her. He felt incomplete when they weren't together but all that was over now.
Holly watched him, her hands moving to the bottom of his shirt again. She slid them under just wanted to feel him close to her. Savoring every moment.
"If we keep this up we are never leaving this room." Robert teased, he left the shirt on Holly even though he was tempted to slide his hand inside and feel her soft flesh once again. As great as making love to her was he also just loved holding her and feeling her.
"We will at some point, we have a lot of time to make up for." She leaned in and captured his lips, a kiss that was long and lingering. The kind she wanted to have every chance they could now.
Robert's lips danced with hers, his hands slid into the shirt, pulling her close to him. He felt her warm skin, he just loved everything about his Holly. "You are right we do. I don't want to waste another minute."
"Then let's not, let's spend the rest of our lives devoted to each other, making each other so happy we can barely stand it." Holly's face lit up at her words. Her arms slid around his neck. It felt so good to finally get to be them again.
Robert's did the same, seeing her so happy made him feel complete. Without thinking he blurted out something that had to do with one of the things he missed most, being Holly's husband. "Marry me?"
