"Then let's not, let's spend the rest of our lives devoted to each other, making each other so happy we can barely stand it." Holly's face lit up at her words. Her arms slid around his neck. It felt so good to finally get to be them again.

Robert's did the same, seeing her so happy made him feel complete. Without thinking her blurted out something that had to do with one of the things he missed most, being Holly's husband. "Marry me?"

Holly looked into his eyes, not really believing what he asked. She stayed quiet as she stared at him, she loved him so much but she wasn't sure this was what he really wanted.

Robert surprised himself, he didn't know if he went too far but honestly had someone not been trying to play god with their lives they would still be married, happily he was sure. "Holly?"

Holly finally found her voice. "Don't worry I know you got carried away. We can pretend like you didn't say that."

Honestly it made sense to Robert and it felt right. "I don't want to pretend like I didn't because I meant it. We had a good marriage, a great marriage. I have no doubt that we would still be happily married if people hadn't been plotting against us."

"Yes but they did and that changes things." Holly told him, wishing more than anything they hadn't. She loved her life, she loved Robert, still did. Those dreams and plans they made all going up in smoke was hard to take but the reality was they were.

"I still love you, I miss being married to you. I know you have changed over the years but I love who you are now. When we were back together in the 2010s we were so good for each other. We still are." Robert was trying to make his case. He really didn't see any point in them wasting time but he also was trying to be careful to not pressure her. The last thing he wanted was for Holly to agree to something and then later regret it.

Holly gave a half smile, she knew he was right. The had built this unbreakable bond that no one could tear apart. "You've always been good for me Robert Scorpio."

Robert smiled at her, looking into those gorgeous brown eyes. "I don't want you to feel pressured, this isn't like the first time. You aren't pregnant and facing deportation so we have time."

Holly chuckled at his comment, he was definitely her knight in shining armor back then. To be honest he still was. "Can I be honest with you?"

Robert nodded, one of the things more special about their relationship was the honesty the two had with each other. "Always."

"I've always seen us as being married even if legally we aren't anymore. You gave me my ring back and I wore it, letting anyone with even a hint of attraction to me know I was married in my heart." Holly told him. When he gave her her ring back her heart was even more with him, which was saying something since he had it all already.

Robert had a big smile on his face, Ethan had told him about that. "So I've heard."

"You have?" Holly was caught off guard for a moment then realized Ethan must have told him. "Ethan?"

Robert nodded, he knew Holly would figure out it was their son. "That kid did everything to make sure I knew how much you love me."

"He's a wonderful man." Holly smiled at Robert. "The very best of his father and mother." She had always thought Ethan took after Robert and couldn't quite figure out how, knowing he was theirs definitely brought some peace to her mind.

"He is. To be honest I have always seen you as my wife. Even in 1992. As long as I know you are in this world I know we belong together." Robert spoke from his heart, everything they went through all these years and nothing could shake that for him. "I want it to be legal. I want everyone to know once again that I'm married to a very sexy, intelligent woman with a heart of gold and who is a survivor."

Holly's heart melted. She adored Robert so much. "You know I really do love you."

Robert nodded again, he knew how deep their love ran. The two of them were the only ones who completely got it. "I have no doubt, I haven't for a long time. Some of the time in 1992 I had some doubts but I know you were still as in love with me as I was you."

Holly nodded remembering how she felt at the time, him and Robin came first. "I just wanted you to be happy even if that meant I wasn't going to be part of that happiness."

Robert shook his head, there was no way he would have been able to go on being married to Anna knowing Holly was still alive. "It would have never worked. Just like if Duke were alive Anna couldn't possibly be with anyone else. You are the love of my life and he is hers."

Robert had told Holly this before and she knew it was true. She saw Duke and Anna together. Saw how in love and at ease they were with each other. It broke her heart that Anna had lost him again. "They were really good together."

"So are we." Robert's eyes never left Holly's. "It's your call, I know that where it counts we couldn't be more committed to each other."

Holly admired Robert so much, he was being careful about pushing her. Once again putting her feelings first but honestly there was nothing else in the world that she wanted more than to legally be Mrs. Robert Scorpio again. She leaned in and kissed him deeply before looking into his eyes. "Let's do it."
