Robert and Holly walked into the courthouse together, taking a seat towards the back of it. Mac walked over to them. "Robbie, Holly. They are going to call you up as soon as we get started. Thank you for doing this."

"No, thank you for telling us. The last thing we need is her getting out and tormenting us or Ethan." Holly looked over at Robert, she wanted this over so that they all could get on with their lives.

Robert gave her hand a squeeze, he was hopeful this would be able to do it.

Diane was brought into the room and shortly after the judge came out. With Robert and Molly both unable to do this case they had another person from the office prosecuting it. The man stood up and spoke to the judge. "Your honor I would like you to hear a few words from one of her victims, the mother of another one."

"I will allow it." The judge said as Holly made he way to the front of the court. She was nervous, nervous that Diane was going to walk but she had to have faith. She felt a lot of people were on their side so she didn't know how they could lose.

Holly stood in front of the judge. "Your honor I am Holly Sutton, Miss. Miller has admitted to tormenting not only I but my husband and our son, going as far as to give my son up after keeping me in a medically induced coma, keeping me locked up for nearly three months and shooting my son in front of me as a way of revenge on Robert and myself. I think letting her go would not be good for anyone in this town." She stated.

Diane's lawyer jumped up. "Your honor I object, why are we taking the word of a known con-artist?"

Those words hit Holly hard, they hit Robert hard too but they both knew it was meant for a reaction. A reaction they would not give.

"Miss Sutton is not on trial here, this is a bail hearing and I won't allow that kind of behavior in my courtroom." The judge turned his attention back to Holly. "You may be seated."

Holly went and sat back down. Robert took her hand and whispered in her ear. "You did incredible." Holly squeezed his hand and smiled at him.

The lawyers went back and forth for a little while, both arguing their cases for why and why not she should have bail.

"I can't in good conscious let Diane Miller have bail. It is denied." The judge hit his gavel before leaving the courtroom.

Holly hugged Robert tightly. "Thank you, thank you." She quietly said, relieved that Diane wasn't getting out. She wanted her to pay for her crimes not just skirt away from them.

Robert held onto Holly, letting out a breath of relief. They weren't going to have to worry about her. They had good news for Ethan too. "You played a big part in this." He whispered to Holly.

Diane looked over at the two of them. "Does he tell you how close he came to making love to me?" She had a smug look on her face as they led her away.

Robert looked at Holly, it was a lie, a complete lie but after how he was in May at times if she believed it he would understand. "Holly..."

Holly cut him off and shook her head. "No, no Robert. I know she's just trying to mess with us. You told me that you kissed and almost kissed a second time but your heart was still mine. I believe you. She's not going to mess this up." She placed her hand on his cheek, stroking it.

Robert was relieved, this was the best thing he could hear. Diane had no power. He still felt like an idiot for letting her get as close as he did but she couldn't ruin this. No one could. "I love you."

Holly decided to show Robert she felt the same instead, her lips crashing into his. Since they were in the courtroom she kept it short. "Let's go tell our son the good news." Holly beamed as she led Robert out of the courtrooom. They went out to his car and got inside. "I'm so happy." She told him as she took his hand again.

Robert couldn't stop smiling. "Me too, even more so knowing she doesn't have that power over us. You believe me." Robert was ecstatic about that. He knew that there was nothing that could break them, first time he had truly felt that way since the eighties even though there were times in the 2010s.

"I trust you more than anyone. I hope you know that." Holly hugged him, she felt like she could do anything right now.

"I feel the same way. You've always been my person and you always be." Robert hugged her tightly, kissing her head. "Let's go tell Ethan the good news and then celebrate tonight." Robert suggested, letting her go to start the car.

"That sounds perfect." Holly replied, just so relieved. They did it, they were protecting their son.

Once back at the hospital they went to Ethan's room, tapping on the door so they didn't startle him. He was looking at something and seemed to be deep in thought. He looked up at them and immediately smiled. "Mother, Robert come in. How did it go?"

"Your mother did fantastic, I'll let her tell you." Robert took the seat he had been sitting in earlier with Holly going back to the one she was in.

"They denied it." The relief in Holly's voice was evident. She was over the moon still.

Ethan's whole face lit up. "Way to go mum and d..Robert!" He reached out for both of their hands, to which they took his. "I knew you had this mum."

Holly was still beaming. "I did what I had to do to protect my guys. What was that you were looking at when we came in?" Holly was curious what he was so focused on.

Ethan picked up the paper and handed it to her. "See for yourself."

Holly took it and her and Robert looked it over not really believing what the were reading.
