Robert and Holly looked at the letter in familiar handwriting, especially to Holly.
Dear Ethan,
I know you don't know either of us well but in a perfect world we would have been your godparents, I have no doubt. I especially would have been your godmother. I have a lot of birthdays to make up for and I know you have had some trouble you have been trying to get out of. We paid off your debts to make up for all the birthdays and holidays we missed. Be good to your daughter and parents, your parents are two of the best people we have ever known. You'll be seeing us often.
Love, Celia and Grant
Holly's eyes immediately filled with tears. They didn't? Of course they did! She didn't know what to say. She was so filled with love.
Robert was choked up too, he looked at her and with a shaky voice asked. "You okay?"
Holly nodded and gave Ethan the letter back. "Yes I am" She got out, still so overwhelmed by this kind gesture.
There was a light tapping on the door and two of the faces they wanted to see most. "Hello you three." Celia walked into the room with Grant. She could tell they had read the letter by the look on Holly's face.
Holly immediately went over to hug her, crying happy tears as she held her oldest friend close to her, she pulled Grant into the hug too. "You two have no idea how much this means to us."
Robert went over and hugged all three of them. "It really means the world to us." He was so touched by this gesture from two of their closest friends.
Ethan spoke up, feeling a little left out but at the same time he didn't really know Celia or Grant by anything other than name. "I really do appreciate it. I'm a stranger to you and you just did that for me. I'm touched." He meant that with all of his heart.
Celia shook her head while she walked over to Ethan. "That is not so. You aren't a stranger, you are my dearest friend's son. Two of my dearest friends. I want you to have a good life and that daughter of yours. Tiffany filled me in." Celia looked over at Holly. "She couldn't look more like you."
Holly's face lit up at Seana's mention. "She is every bit a Scorpio, has Robert wrapped around her little finger from the moment she leaped into his arms."
Robert's smile grew, he was happy she took to him so quickly. "She's one of my babies. My littlest luv."
Grant went over and shook Ethan's hand. "You are family, you will never be a stranger to Celia and me."
A nurse came into the room with Ethan's discharge papers. "Look who's free to go. I need a few signatures."
Ethan gladly signed them. He was ready to get out of there. Robert gave him a change of clothes he had brought with him and Ethan went into the bathroom to change.
"You two really don't know what you just did for him." Holly was still so ecstatic. "I promise I will pay you both back!"
Celia cut her off right there. "Absolutely not! It was a gift to our godson. Let us enjoy spoiling him!" She gave Holly a smile and another hug.
Holly held on tightly to her, she still couldn't believe the kind gesture the two of them had made. "I will forever appreciate this."
"You can tell us that by having dinner with us tomorrow night? We have plans with Monica tonight but we would love to catch up." Celia looked between Robert and Holly.
"We will definitely do that and thank you so much for the surprise you set up for us." Holly playfully swatted Celia. "Look at you cupid and a guardian angel. You have become even greater over the years."
Celia gave Holly a hug. "I am just so grateful to have you back. You know I will always do whatever I can for you just like you and Robert have always done for me."
Robert nodded and smiled at both Grant and Celia. "You know we will always be here for you. Always have been."
"We do." Grant smiled, patting Robert's back. The four had gone through a lot with each other over the years and their friendship was just as solid.
Ethan came out of the bathroom. The five of them left the hospital. Robert, Holly and Ethan heading back to the Metro Court. They checked Ethan into his own room, Ethan was determined to find himself a career so he could support himself and his daughter. He wanted to get started on that.
Robert and Holly went back to their room. Holly was on a cloud, she couldn't believe how the day was going. "You know I need to always wake up in your arms, it brings good luck." She beamed, wrapping her arms around Robert after he closed the door behind them.
Robert's arms found their way around her waist, one of their favorite places. He placed a kiss on her head, his face glowing from seeing her so happy. "Maybe we need to spend our nights like we did last night." He grinned, She was still the sexiest woman he had ever laid eyes on.
Holly blushed, memories of the night before once again replaying in her head. "It was some night. You wouldn't hear any complaints from me on a repeat." She kissed him deeply.
Robert's arms pulled her even closer, life was good right now. He hadn't felt this happy in so long he wanted to savor every second. He took her by the hand and led her to the bathroom. "I have a surprise for you."
