85. Hold Me Tight
Somin, Mia and Teho
Teho slowly walked up to them. His hands were in the air as he was trying not to fall to the ground, catching balance after that many beers. Mia hugged Somin and gently caressed her hair, kissing it maternally. Teho got close and nothing better came up to his mind than to pick Somin up into his arms. Mia wasn't mad, just a little afraid that he could drop her. The deed seemed to be an impossible task for the drunk warrior, but he succeeded. Somin's wrist wound was ugly, making a small blood pool under her. Mia improvised a bandage from her own dress, cutting the hem with the glass shard and tearing it up for her.
Somin leaned to Teho's chest desperately. I need love.
She let out a sigh of relief; his presence created a safe space. She felt his touch, that she had desired for the longest time. Her spinning mind took her far away, not letting her savor this moment and his faintly sweet scent was mixed with alcohol.
What the hell happened to her hair?
Teho had difficulty balancing on the stairs with her. Somin's hands hugged his neck to hold on tighter, as she felt his body through his shirt. She rested her head on his chest and listened to the sounds his heart made, not caring about a single thing. Teho carried her to their room. Mia was following closely behind, worried but still alert, ready to jump and catch the girl herself.
The hall fell silent after the party upstairs retreated to sleep. Mia unlocked the door and Teho let Somin down carefully onto the bed covered with bluish clothes.
Hers. He knew.
Mia started tending to her friend's wound, after some running around trying to find a first aid kit somewhere in the hall. Teho brought hot water in a plastic bowl and delicately washed the deep wound. Mia's makeshift bandage stopped the flow, but it was soaked in red fluid.
Somin cried in pain.
"Don't look," Mia instructed, making eyes at Teho to divert the patient's attention.
"Ya, Somin-ssi what the hell came onto you?" Teho pensively asked, kneeling before her as she locked her eyes on his.
"I can't bear it anymore." Somin was crying silently now, the hysteria subsiding.
"Were the... Ehm... sounds from... your ex?" Mia warily asked and Somin nodded.
"Who is it?" pushed Teho, dismay visible on his face. Somin didn't care to hide it anymore.
"Min Cholsu. That bastard went up with two girls," Somin answered, his name burning her tongue.
Mia bandaged the wound and got to wash her bloody hands, a little shaking herself from the scary situation.
What if she bled to death there?
Teho gently hugged Somin when Mia left, needing to comfort her, hoping to pass heat through his body.
"Try to rest, please." He helped her under the blanket without care to change her clothes.
Somin fell slowly into a troubled sleep, exhausted from the day, while he softly brushed her messed-up hair.
Why does she have to suffer that much?
When Mia Came back, she looked at Teho. "Min Cholsu? Did you get it?" The black-haired girl whispered.
"But he's such a bad boy. How can he be her ex?" Teho was baffled.
"Please, Mia, I don't want to be alone. Can you sleep next to me?" Somin asked through the sleep haze.
"Sure, no problem." Mia changed and snuggled up to Somin, holding her like a little sister.
She spooned her tenderly, arms firmly clenched around the distressed girl's body.
She must really feel so alone. Mia empathized.
Teho, still shocked by the information, fell asleep in Mia's bed alone.
I can't believe it. Min Cholsu, really? How could he be interested in someone like Somin? But then again, I like her so much.
These were the last thoughts as he fell into a deep, drunken sleep, wishing he was the one holding her.
