103. Ghost Love Making
Somin, Mia and Teho
Meanwhile, Mia closed her eyes thinking back to the mysterious drunken companion she so unexpectedly acquired.
It'll be fun to make him open up.
Mia hadn't told Somin or her girlfriends in school about him.
He's mine to think about.
...
"Let's say I like to be in a girl's company." Teho kept looking into her eyes. "Am I bothersome to you?"
He inspected the meaning behind her query as the small girl leaned more into Mia's embrace. For a moment he felt a sting of jealousy.
That's how she must have felt seeing me at her place.
The second thought took over as he saw her sleepy eyes.
She looks tired.
"How's the city at night?" Somin tried to push him back into confiding in them.
Hungry for a more intimate side of him, at least the one he's willing to give. The amused boy snickered at her and she slightly nodded, muttering.
"Please do tell." She hugged her knees, tilting her head cutely. Somin's hair fell into her eyes as Mia brushed through them.
"There's something so peaceful about the empty streets," the boy trailed away for a brief moment and Somin focused more to get the most from this vulnerable moment.
"Don't get me wrong, I love when the city is buzzing, it's great for some concepts..."
pause, reliving recent memory,
"... but my favorite is the darkest night like 2 a.m. ideally. You can feel the throbbing heart of the metropole and hear its calling." He smiled at the specific image in his head.
...
A few nights ago, the loud moans coming from the open balcony door of an expensive old house, led him to the villa area. The astonished boy stopped and listened to its intensity intrigued, finding a photo he loved. The square zoom of the doors with phosphorescent blue timid light permeating through the drawn curtains framed in ivy all around. Teho found it haunting like the ghosts were having a moment there when the mild wind chased the fabric in and out. Yes, it was too personal maybe, but he'll cut and manipulate it later so it won't give up the location.
...
"There's this strangely voyeuristic nature in it. You can peek into other people's lives. Having the silence of their sleep around, hearing heated arguing or loud testaments of love." He bit his lips provocatively and Mia moved her head in sarcastic disapproval. Somin blushed, hoping to not ruin the mood she continued.
"I do understand the need to have the surroundings for yourself, I would roam the city at night by myself too if I wasn't scared to go alone," the stunned girl wondered out loud.
"I won't, I'm tired from training and I would rather sleep," Mia chimed in.
"Also I don't have the urge to listen to other people's night adventures." She put a hand to her forehead. "I'd rather have them." It felt distant and resolute as her thoughts over the much older boy continued to swirl.
You're not the only one around.
Looking down at Somin, Mia materialized the unspoken question hanging in the air.
"You look very tired," Mia stated.
Somin now lay in her lap and let her hair be brushed. Enjoying the simple sensation of Mia's finger massaging her scalp, feeling the sisterly bond she didn't want to lose.
"That's why I decided I'll stay here over the weekend, I need some serious alone time," Somin answered.
Teho's eyes sparkled.
"I'll be going back home this weekend. Are you ok with being here alone?" Mia investigated.
"Please don't worry Mia, I'm hopefully..." Somin looked at Teho.
He really wants to know. She relished inhaving his full attention.
"...getting some..."
No way I am telling you what I want to do.
"...sleep."
Mia nodded, relieved. Somin didn't cry much lately or at least she didn't see or hear her. Even though she expected her to get worse after the scene they all witnessed.
"Please don't worry." Somin smiled.
