Never Take a Pirate for Grant'd! 5 - or 'So, I guess I have to fill up for Grant, heh?' (Castlevania Netflix Grant Danasty!SI, Lite Gamer)

Netflix Dracula's Castle wasn't built on Chaos as the game timeline or represented as a living entity like in the LoS timeline- no, this castle was driven by a mixture of magic and physics I just couldn't understand beyond the fact that it runs on heat-fueled electricity.

The system itself was baffling, even though I had gone through a few years of scientific curriculum in high school back home, nothing had prepared me for this sort of sight I was bestowed with.

The complex machinery that was allowing the castle to fully function, from its smallest feature to its capacity to teleport where his master wanted it to go via a special mirror- this was literally candy for anyone that loved the notion of technomagic.

And I wasn't exactly loving it because I had to reason with some aspects of its inner workings to go around. Platforms were quick to heat up and I ended up moving to the upper sections of the area by having no solid ground to permanently check my surroundings.

I was glad that one of the first puzzles granted me a new piece of equipment but…

Obtained 'Iron Breastplate' - DEF + 25!

I was slowly coming to terms that this wasn't necessarily a good development. If the castle was trying to be 'kind', then there was a chance a fugly mess was around the corner.

In this case, the fugly mess was a group and it was the most despicable factor to keep in mind while platforming in the Castlevania games. To be fair, I didn't recognize the issue early on when I ended up in a room with multiple tubes on the side. I just heard something soaring through the air, and I backed away to avoid something spherical that almost hit me.

The noise of cackling coming from the projectile confused me immensely. But then, more 'bullets' came through, forcing me to bolt to the other end of the room. Luck was not on my side as one managed to hit me and-

HP: 393/405

"Gh!"

Stung me as I felt numerous tiny teeth sinking briefly onto my arm, damaging me in the process.

Still, this brief exchange finally got me to see what I was running from. Beautiful womanly face, seductive smile, slitted eyes and a mane of snakes hissing viciously at me.

"Oh, a Medusa Head."

…Wait, oh God no!

"One of many," She replied purring, rushing to attack me, but getting killed in a single hit.

Her words could be truer as the cackling and giggling intensified from left and right, with a flood of flying Medusa Heads storming my surroundings like a hurricane, trying to disorientate me.

To be honest, that was an outrageously valid tactic and I got hit a few times because of it. I still killed a few but… goddammit, it was pissing me off so badly with the crazy noises these bitch-heads were producing. My poor ears could handle so much.

"Fuck it, now I remember why I hated this foe when I was a kid."

Tightening my hold over the fiery sword's hilt, I started to focus on the closer targets. The cackling heads were weak, but their high number and speed was providing a lot of issues as I continued to butcher them left and right.

I wasn't paying much attention for a while, focusing on slaying all those nagging issues and, a few minutes later, I was finally freed of the noisy encounter and could enjoy a few level ups.

Congratulations! You leveled up! x 3

I was thus back on my walk, feeling like I was really getting close to Dracula as I just needed to find a way out of here and I should end up getting near the throne room.

I felt that hope increased right as I was feeling less of the heat from the steam-pumping tubes all around and I got to fight a few armored skeletons which were sturdier compared to previous opponents. Still, there were just a few but… strong ones.

Not enough EXP to level up, but I was soon greeted with a chance to change that issue in a potential positive outcome.

Right as I was about to cross a fancy-looking door and possibly get closer to where Dracula's room was, I felt my attention stolen by someone that descended from the tall ceiling and holding by his hands what looked to be an ax and a sword. Vampire, red-hair, hungry smile and thick beard- he was wearing a classic viking outfit.

Godbrand

Vampire General to Dracula

HP: 1250/1250

"Well, well, well," The viking vampire hummed, tilting his head left and right, as he walked closer to me. "I wasn't expecting to find some fresh meat hanging around here- so close to that grumpy fool's little throne room."

"I am sorry, but I am not food for you, Norse sucker."

"Oh? Is that so, you silly pirate. Then what the fuck you are?" He inquired wolfishly, making me smile back.

"Only a guy with a plan- and you being one of those elements sent to a quick permanent stay to hell," I replied, tensing up as Godbrand rushed forth and forced me to block the attack.

Flashes of what I could remember of this guy allowed me to compare my current progress and equipment. His ax slammed with ease against my sword, but failed to break it or even push me back too far.

In fact, I would go as far as to say that I managed to get the best of him early on by pushing him back and getting two swift hits on him.

"Grah! You little shit!"

For being flesh wounds, the damage was non-negligible.

In fact, as the attacks got more powerful on Godbrand's side of things, his focus had lessened out of surprise and partial fear. To me, this was a chance as the guy was clearly not prepared for someone like me. He tried to hit me with both his weapons at once, but I jumped and almost hit him on his head but failed as he pushed his skull forward.

Using his vampiric speed, the viking tried to rotate and hit me where I was landing, but I jumped again and backed away, stunning him and actually landing a CRIT on him by hitting his lower face and cutting a wide piece of his jaw hanging in an unpleasant manner.

-120! Crit!

"F-Fahcker!"

"No you," I replied giddily, backing away as his attacks got even more incoherent.

I didn't expect a vampire to panic like this, but I was quite sure many vampires that served as Dracula's Generals had never fought with people stronger than normal humans. And with how things were going right now I had the upper hand.

I continued to slash some light wounds through his guard, knowing that his morale was collapsing and, as I parried an incoming hit, I finally moved for what I knew would kill him for good.

I rushed forward, tilting my flaming blade in the right spot and then stabbed where his heart was. I was quite close to see his eyes widening in shock as he felt the heart of his burning up and exploding in blood and meaty bits as flames burned through the tissues and prevented any chance of surviving that killing hit.

Weak point found! Insta-kill possible.

Godbrand started to shake, as if enduring a seizure and I pulled quickly away from him as his body started to turn gray and bony, combusting and then turning to ask before my own eyes.

Congratulations! You leveled up! x2

I was surprised by this last bit and manifested one Ax and… yup, I now had my Projectile weapon. I would have preferred the Cross or the Holy Water, but this is still acceptable as it is.

Since I wasn't limited by how to throw the ax, I could technically use it also as a temporary shield if I had my sword out of reach to block. Right as I dematerialized the ax, I heard someone slowly clapping.

I turned to greet the unexpected presence and I frowned at a familiar face. Hands now up in a display of surrender, I was surprised to see that I ended up finding him here. Isaac, one of Dracula's Devil Forgemaster, sported his usual stoic expression as he bowed his head at me.

"A fine display of skills, intruder. Enough to get the attention of my master and his… interest."

"Oh? Dracula knows I am here. And here I thought he would have been busy planning humanity's demise or something," I remarked. "So, what does he want?"

"He seeks to speak with you and, perhaps, grant you a chance to join his side."

…What?
