119. Pins and Needles
Lee Somin
Somin sat down on the big leather chair with a clean white sheet on it, trying to relax, but her mind and heart wouldn't let her. Stripping her jeans off, because of the design placement, made her sit only in panties.
In front of this stranger. Aren't I such a bad girl?
The tattooist had printed out purple outlines on transparent paper. Cold droplets chilled her skin as he purified the spot with disinfectant.
Here we go.
"Should I put it here?" the man asked, the image in hand, positioning it above the thigh.
"A bit lower, please," Somin answered.
"Here?" He moved it accordingly.
"Yes."
The touch of a paper sticking to her thigh sealed the deal. His big palm pressurized the paper on her leg.
Like a kid tattoo picture. Pff, I'm so childish.
Somin giggled cutely and the tattooist smiled. Lifting the paper off and leaving the purple outline imprinted on her skin.
Here you would be till the end with me, my victory.
The man sat next to her and started to assemble the machine. Somin observed the automatized ritual with morbid curiosity. The way he put the new needle in and prepared the colors. Each color sat in the transparent little container on the tiny white tray nearby.
Their eyes locked.
"Are you ready? It will sting a bit more from the start, don't be scared. If you need, I could stop, but it's better to go on, your body will get used to it soon." He smiled reassuringly at her.
"Alright, let's go." She drew a breath in and the sharp needle painfully pierced through her skin.
