The Moon's Brother and the BS Game 4 - or 'Help, I am supposed to be a background character, but I have to be a MC for my silly sister's sake!' (Sailor Moon Xover, Gamer!SI!Shingo Tsukino)
"So, just to summarize what I got from your answers," I started to say with a legitimately surprised but overall calm tone.
I mean, I know the lore, but I didn't have any preparation in Luna giving me a full history on the matter. Always thought she would have landed just tidbits until it was needed to expand on it. But, considering I was no Usagi and I had established a degree of trust with her, I suppose she was more keen to give me the full truth rather than limit herself out of not overwhelming me. I had the 'smarts', as she put it, and I got it all right as I remembered it to be.
Right now, I could go for the 'summary' excuse out of the fact I was dealing with some homework in my room, away from any eavesdroppers until it was dinnertime.
"There's a Moon Princess that has been reincarnated from a previous civilization where there were just Earthlings and Moonlings- she has the only key to destroy the big bad that she inherited from her mother, the former queen, but before risking your survival to try and find her, you're first trying to find the Sailor Senshi, or Sailor Scouts, that are… something like the Kamen Riders or the Super Sentai."
"Protectors of Justice and Righteousness," Luna repeated the words she used in the first introduction to the group, sitting on my bed as she stared at me.
"Still, a group of people that has to undergo a special transformation which enhances their abilities and protects their personal identities from any detractors."
"...Yes."
I smiled smugly as Luna was given an explanation that was literally what the examples I forwarded were all about when we first had this little clash on the matter.
"So, do you have something to actually find out who is worthy of the Sailor power?"
"I have a base under the local arcade," The feline answered flatly. "It's not much since I can't use the same technology Silver Millenium once had, but it is enough to find any candidate which possesses the right requisites to bear the respective Senshi power."
There was a bit of a pause at that and I felt she was withholding something important. I kept quiet myself and used the homework as an excuse to do so but-
"I think your sister is Sailor Moon."
I had to stop at this and give her an honest shocked look. I mean, yes, I knew it was coming as a situation- but I was nowhere prepared to break the news to her. Heck, Usagi was still unprepared for this and she was going to be the one put under duress for the sake of saving lives and kicking monsters' asses.
"Luna-"
"I know, she looks unfit-"
"That's still my sister you're talking about," I snapped, the cat tensing up a bit, eyes wide open in surprise at that outburst. "Sorry, it's just- Look, Usagi is not a girl with much motivation and prefers to be lazy, but that's it. I think she would have issues because she is not good with improvised messes needing to be solved- she isn't… a confrontational individual."
"Yet, she was quite keen to give me issues with her attitude," Luna snorted, but didn't press harshly on this. "But I have to admit I poked her into that reaction. I could tell she reacted the way she did because she is quite frustrated."
"Which is why she is possibly going to have a breakdown while facing something she can't just screech and play tough with," I added with a serious tone. "She needs to be coached into the role."
"...And?"
I shrugged. "I don't know, you're supposed to be the mentor figure here."
"I-" Luna paused for a moment, caught off-guard by that response. "I may have knowledge, but I would never consider myself a… mentor for someone that is supposed to be a leader."
"Supposed to be, or groomed to be one?" I retorted flatly. "Luna, I want to help with this but… I am a kid, I am Usagi's little brother- I have personal reasons to play it soft with her, you don't. And while she may have given you grief a while ago, you could at least try to cut her some slack and give her some advice to… be a good person in general."
…
There was a bit of silence at that plea, but the feline ultimately delivered a big defeated sigh.
"Fine, I will try to work something to make her able to accept this responsibility without pushing it too harshly on her. But don't expect me to be any lenient if she hesitates after that."
"Thanks," I answered, causing her irritation to utterly vanish from sight.
"Still, there's the matter of the rats. You said that they kidnapped someone."
"A girl from school. I told her to not say anything since her parents wouldn't believe it which… is true," I admitted nervously, and Luna nodded in agreement.
"The rats are not part of the Dark Kingdom. I would have recognized if these were the product of a Youma, but none bore any similar connection to what I have seen in the past. Which is why they caught me off-guard the way they did," The cat explained before giving me a quizzical look. "And you have yet to tell me why you were looking for those?"
"...Well, you know I like… comics, Luna-san."
Her eyes narrowed, the use of honorifics just used cleverly to make it clear I was trying to sound apologetic. The excuse I had in mind was a very simple one and deeply entrenched in my childish appearance.
"And?"
"And I wanted to see a villain."
"...Shingo, that's not something a smart boy should do."
"I know but… I was curious, that's all."
"And you found a villain?"
"No," I replied, making sure to add a degree of sadness in my voice, just so Luna could catch me on that.
"Shingo-"
"I will not do it again but- it's not like I knew it was that dangerous."
"It should be clear that looking for a villain is asking for trouble," Luna retorted with some frustration, but then sighed tiredly. "And I suppose you know this by now."
I nodded, with the conversation ending pretty much there as I found myself finishing to use Learning for the time being.

I stood up from my chair and stretched a bit, and paused a moment to say one last thing to Luna.
"Going out to buy some magazines. You can stay in my room if you're avoiding Usagi."
The feline yawned and then nodded as I left for the magazine store. If I was correct with my assumption, then I should be able to expand my combat capacity at the moment by reading texts that gave advice on how to fight better.
I had a clue on what I needed to expand my ATK points, not as much for my DEF points but… one thing at a time- and I didn't have a good reason to convince my parents to get me a punching bag in my room.
Maybe a bit later along the line and with the excuse of training up for boxing. I needed an excuse, but it had to be a good enough excuse to not have them nag on my back about it.
I didn't expect to find trouble right as I was done browsing for what I was looking for. I had finished paying the shopkeeper for a couple of magazines about boxing and taekwondo, interested in studying both arts at once, when I noticed quite the sight unfolding by the glass showing the interior of the nearby restaurant.
Quite a sad sight, I reckon, as I found a scantily-clad girl with lavender hair, amber eyes, horns and wings that was drooling at the sight of various meals being given to the customers.
It was somewhat odd to feel disinterested by who I could tell was a Succubus, a young one at that and… one that seemed to be starving from the looks of it. No one had picked up her appearance which I could only decipher as her having a weak protection spell to hide her ass from the world but one that didn't work on me.
Either that or she's just so hungry that she couldn't even conjure that and she appeared to be quite the 'stupid cosplayer'. Did she? Was that even a thing at this point and-

Now, normally I wouldn't be surprised by a quest, but I had slowly started to get accustomed to how some quests seemed to be leading me to interesting characters or odd situations. I would say this is a case of both.
Why was this Succubus important? Actually, how come there were Succubi in Tokyo?! I thought that I was in Sailor Moon and… Urgh!
Shaking my head, I just went to get myself a free LVL up. There was a smaller activity in front of the restaurant that sold sandwiches and some drinks, so I went there to get something for the girl to eat and some regular water.
The real 'spectacle' unfolded right as I approached her and her nose picked up the smell of food approaching. Her head just snapped to the side where I was coming, her eyes wide open as platters and aimed first at the snack, the water bottle, and then at me.
"You look sad. Here."
I couldn't exactly call her pathetic, but I was a child so I could be brutal in that regard. The girl blinked again, shaking a bit as tears started to form at the edge of her eyes. I tried to use detect and see who I was looking at but-

"Yes," I remarked calmly and she slowly stood up and… reached for the items before taking them. She was still eyeing me, as if suspecting I was going to do something bad or if this was some sort of trick. "T-Thanks."
