The Moon's Brother and the BS Game 5 - or 'Help, I am supposed to be a background character, but I have to be a MC for my silly sister's sake!' (Sailor Moon Xover, Gamer!SI!Shingo Tsukino)

What if this world was bigger than just Sailor Moon?

The question didn't come to me without reasons or merits, especially with that last notable encounter yesterday. Maybe I was looking too deep into this, but I am sure I had seen that odd character before- the issue was that I am quite convinced there were no Succubi in Sailor Moon.

Scantily-clad women and men? Yes. But those with bat-wings and a peculiar tail? Not really. I just needed to see if anything more prominent could tell me how 'big' of a world I was living in and I had a glimpse of that when I caught on a few titles off dad's newspaper early in the morning.

Young Genius at 13! The youngest student at Tokyo U, Ikari Yui, manages to simplify a bio-electric process by minutes!

Intense clashes over the straits! New Chinese Leader proclaims new plans to obtain Taiwan and Okinawa!

The collapse continues! The Soviet Union faces complete dissolution as Zanzibar Land declares independence!

The first and last titles were quick for me to connect with other series, the second one felt a bit unusual but overall 'standard business' over foreign clashes. To be a bit more specific, the first title was a reference to Evangelion- but not a 'canon' reference in that regard for two big reasons.

First, Ikari Yui is Shinji's mother and should have been studying at Kyoto at this point. With Eva being one of the anime that hooked into the culture, I knew extensively some tidbits of the canon plot and I knew for a fact that Yui shouldn't be studying in Tokyo U… and so young too.

The second issue I had with this information was that there was no Angels issue within this world. How? Well, Earth wasn't created by an Angel- instead there was another dead civilization which is the one provided by Sailor Moon- the Silver Millennium and the previous Kingdom of Earth.

So, if something like Eva had to happen, it was going to be tied to the discovery of the civilizations before the big reset.

The other title was a bit more worrying as this could have actually happened in a Sailor Moon world and… explained why Neo Queen Serenity did the things she did in abolishing war- It's Metal Gear.

The Zanzibar Land bit is a clear reference to the setting of Metal Gear 2, the Prequel to Metal Gear Solid and the place where Big Boss, the most legendary soldier at the time, founded his own base of operations. While some diplomats would foolishly ignore the existence of Zanzibar Land, the issue is that it is not a country- it's just the greatest base of operations for mercenaries to join Big Boss' army.

A big army of disciplined and battle-hardened troops that were trained to the bone to be the very best. And these were the very individuals that would end up causing quite the storm once the Mercenary War was over and Zanzibar Land started to steal nukes all over the globe.

Now, these two elements brought up a very unpleasant idea: the Silver Millennium became a necessity because these organizations were planning to destroy/enslave/exploit the world and Usagi's best way to suppress them was to end war once and for all.

And while I could understand her reasoning if that was indeed the case… I couldn't just sit by and let this equally-bad option happen in my watch.

That's going to take a while.

I was leveling up fast, but getting to the point where I could take on any of these worldwide factions felt a bit out of reach at the moment. Maybe I needed to start looking into expanding my knowledge.

Kicking my way into greatness was going well, but I could and I had to do better than just that.

So, the first thing to do was get my hands on some big brain books and learn from those. Engineers, Bio-engineers, biochemistry and even rocket engineering- I had to meme this so hard that I was going to overrule any form of knowledge-related issues in the near future.

While it would be better in my opinion to just keep it all balanced, I couldn't exactly pick up on martial stats without the right equipment. I needed to do with what I had at my disposal- books, a lot of books.

I had the money to buy a few more things, and then I should be able to ask for pocket money at the end of the week. Since I have been 'behaving', I think it should be a confirmed thing in that regard.

So, with a big plan of action set, I got ready for school and set myself for some intense training at the end of the week. I had to prioritize helping Usagi a bit so as to not get any attention from Luna for not doing anything to help my sister as I had promised her I would have done.

If I didn't give at least a degree of interest on the topic, then she was going to catch on to the fact I was just delaying until I was strong enough to help Usagi… without her knowing it was me helping.

I had thought about this a lot, and I had decided it was only for the best for me to help her by not being seen by her as her 'little brother'. Imagine the situation- she needs guidance and help, and her lil' bro gives her that. Knowing Usagi she would: 1) Ignore me by thinking herself better as the elder sibling; 2) Worry a lot and then mess up because her lil' bro may end up in harm's way.

Either way, I couldn't just let these options happen. So, I had to find a way to solve this. The game, ever so helpful, provided me with a curious solution.

Being a hero? I mean, one thing was being a helper/fixer, another was actually putting on a mask and playing vigilante. That was a responsibility that I wasn't sure I was up to but…

If it helped with the Sailor Moon plot and beyond, then I guess it was an endeavor worthy of further exploration.

Soon I was at school, ready to get some stuff done with History, Art and Maths when I was reminded that there was something I had to keep an eye on but I had forgotten all about what I had been thinking in recent hours.

"I found ya!"

I was surprised, Mika was looking positively annoyed, while Momoko beamed happily as she suddenly appeared in our classroom during the first break of the day. She literally 'appeared' from the corner and then rushed inside to get me.

I don't know how Momo got there because I doubt anyone knew about me enough to know which classroom I had lessons in, but she just did it. And she was quite causing a bit of a stir since 1) she was not a classmate and 2) she was getting rather clingy with me.

"H-Hey, you can't just hug him like that!" Mika exclaimed and Momo frowned as she took notice of her. "If you do it that strongly, you can actually hurt him."

"Hm?"

Mika stood up and stepped closer to the scene… before suddenly hugging my other arm. "See, you have to be tight but tender. Or else you may make it too awkward."

Momo's eyes widened at that and she nodded, smiling a bit more. "Are you a friend too?"

"Yup. I didn't know Tsukino-kun had made another friend."

"Oh, that's because we met yesterday," Momoko remarked. "He helped me with the… groceries. There were lots of bags to carry and I tripped a few times, but Tsukino-kun helped me a lot."

"Yeah, Tsukino-kun is quite a good friend. I am Kayama Mika."

"Momohara Momoko. Nice to meet you, Mika-chan~."

"Same, Momo-chan~!"

…Oh God, they are now becoming friends!

Luckily for me, the pause didn't last long and the lessons resumed shortly after, thus forcing Momoka to go back to her classroom or else she would have been reprimanded.

She would pass by for each pause, but seemed to prioritize chatting with Mika for some reason and… I have a feeling this girl was as much of a loner as Mika was in terms of female friends.

This gave me the chance to 'Learn' some more from the fighting-related magazines I had bought yesterday. The Boxing one I was going fast with and I ended up finishing fast with it before investing the remaining SPs in the Taekwondo one.

By the time I was done with school for the day, I found out the full extent of Momoko's sudden addition to my life- specifically how she was now more than welcome to join the walk back home with Mika and I.

She had to leave earlier than when Mika had to, but it was still 'nice to make the way with friends'. I could tell there was more to it as the chinese-dressing girl may have had enough of a wake-up call with the rats to not consider walking alone in unfamiliar streets anytime soon.

Once Mika and Momo were off my back, I used my temporary solitude to check by a nearby electronics shop that I knew sold games and magazines on DIY. I started to browse around and I found a couple about 'How to be an Electrician' and 'How to handle woodwork'.

I was about to move to have those paid when I saw a… normal scene. I know, this was getting a bit familiar, but this sight was particularly tame if not sad to an extent.

Little girl with a bit of a tan was trying to reach some NES game set a few shelves above her reach. She was tiny, roughly a year or so younger than me and… I decided to help instinctively, not even waiting for a quest or something.

Standing on my toes, I managed to get enough height to reach the closest box before bringing it down to her. Metroid? That's nostalgic. Still, I think we had this one back home so I just picked one for the girl and gave it to her. Pink eyes widened in pure delight as the child picked the box.

"Thanks, Oniichan!"

And then merrily left. Something about her appearance struck me familiar, but I managed to get her identity since she was just a child and… her name was unforgettable.
