Uniquely Specialist 5 - or 'How this is not what I wanted for my Isekai, what do you mean Fairies are OP?' (Winx Club Specialist!SI)
EDIT: This is the new Chapter!
Bloom was not in a good state of mind. Not a novelty as of recent days considering that she recently discovered she had been adopted and that her powers were abnormal.
The idea that she caused a massive fire when she 'woke up' in the building her adoptive father had rescued her from added a sense of unease over her own limits. Her friends picked up the self-conscious nature of her unease, and tended to be somewhat supportive of her bouts of shyness.
Hanging around Brandon lessened that hassle but... but it wasn't enough. It felt rather stale after a while, and the mood boost was temporary. After passing another test at Alfea, the redhead decided it was high time for her to learn the full truth from someone but... from who?
She thought of Faragonda. The headmistress definitely knew something of her origins but was also going to tell her that 'she was not ready for it'. And thus that was crossed out from the list. Same for all teachers in Alfea, really, considering that most definitely didn't know the truth.
Not when her own friends were clueless on the topic too. Tecna, someone who prided herself as a girl with a lot of knowledge about Magix, didn't seem accustomed to Bloom's background, and Stella, a princess, was also unaware of anything that could connect to Bloom and her powers.
So, she was stuck and... she didn't know who could know the truth and be willing to tell her.
It was soon night, and Bloom decided to go for a walk around Alfea. It was forbidden, but considering how easy it was to sneak outdoors through the balcony of her room, the girl didn't exactly find the potential chance of being found outside the school's perimeter worrisome.
None of the teachers patrolling the halls tended to check on girls' rooms unless someone mentioned reasonable circumstances to do so. And since Stella was deep in her dreams, Bloom was free to go for a midnight walk.
She couldn't sleep at all, not when the strange vision from someone trying to help her but only leaving her sad and confused and also upset kept her from having a good rest. The redhead had been experiencing a lot of trouble ever since she unleashed a part of her power.
She knew it wasn't the fullest potential, and that the peak was meant to be something so destructive that no one wanted her to rush to it and-
"Lovely night for a picnic?"
Bloom jumped, blue eyes wide open as she turned to see... the boy that has been assigned to protect her.
"H-How did you-"
"Let's just say that due to how many things have happened while you were out of school and out of Faragonda's sight, she decided for me to be a bit more reactive whenever you are 'noticed' as outside the school," He hummed, setting down a few bags and preparing a campfire. "So, since it's nighttime, I got yanked out of bed and I kind of feel in an odd mood to pull an all-nighter... how about some marshmallows?"
Despite the lingering confusion, Bloom perked at the sweet offer, nodding despite the fact she wasn't meant to eat that at this late hour.
She was soon sitting on a chair, looking at the blazing fire contained by rocks heat up the white snacks and-
"So, what's up?"
She didn't regard the boy initially, deciding to play around the topic that was troubling her.
"Why didn't you tell me your name was John?"
"Well, because I don't want to create a potential misunderstanding of the love triangle kind," The bespectacled teen pointed out. "I mean, you and 'Brandon' have been hitting it off quite well. Would be a distasteful thing to just waltz in, play the mysterious prick role and kind of 'charm you to my side'- even though I really don't want that."
Her lips twitched. "B-Brandon and I are not a thing."
"You hang out a lot, you tend to get lovey-dovey... that's just a few steps away from 'we are dating'."
He wasn't wrong about it. He was a cute boy that blond, and Bloom felt like she could connect to him.
"But then I have to be a bit of a jerk, Bloom," John interrupted, sounding genuinely sad for her. "I do have to tell you to not tie the knot with him until he comes out about all."
And that left her perplexed. "Why not? He is nice and kind."
"True, true. But you can also add 'dishonest' to the list. He isn't a liar about his personality- that's the real deal."
"But?" Bloom pressed, feeling frustrated with people teasing about things she should know but she didn't.
"But you need to press him on that. You know why?"
"...He owes me that?" She guessed and got a nod. "But what is it? Is it something really important?"
"Very. In fact ,it's more like- first, about his family. That's not really worrisome on itself, but since his family is quite important... well, he has duties to keep up with."
...
...
"He has an arranged relationship," The redhead blurted out, almost feeling her heart sink at the mere idea this may be the truth. And from the surprised and awkward look John had on his face- "Who is he?"
"Crown Prince Sky of Eraklyon, and Princess Diaspro is his fiancée."
A deep frown appeared on her face. "I see but... why didn't he tell me? I mean, if he wants to go out with me, why would he lie to me like this?"
Surprisingly enough, Bloom didn't feel angry. Annoyed? Definitely, but not angry. It wasn't like she was too deep into wanting to date Bran-Sky. It wasn't like they had gone out too much and, most of the time, it was her doing the talking and Sky working conversations just with that.
Who were his parents? Did he feel embarrassed to bring them up? Did he feel like mentioning his fiancée would have ruined his chances to be more with Bloom?
There were so many questions coming at her, but she was just... unable to fully process them. She was emotionally invested, that's for sure, but she felt like it wasn't enough to feel angry about it. Only confused and irked she wasn't told this from Sky.
"Probably two reasons: one, he felt like it would have killed any chance to be your friends or more," John spoke up, his words shining a light through the obscurity of the matter. "Second, he probably doesn't like Diaspro."
"And how can you tell he doesn't like her?"
"She is not exactly known for being a kind and benevolent lady. That's what happens when you get tutored into a bratty and unprepared princess."
That made some sense. And yet it did little to solve her main trouble.
"John, you know... a lot of things, right?"
He leaned back, retrieving his marshmallow's stick and starting to taste the cooked thing. "Yeah?"
"Do you know... who are my parents?"
He blinked, taking a bite from the soft and warm thing, something Bloom mimicked shortly after. It was sweet but maybe a bit too hot for her tastes.
"Adoptive or real ones?"
Her flat look got a chuckle out of the boy.
"Fine, I know who they are. It's just you are not going to like what's up."
"Why?"
"They are not dead, but they are kind of also not alive."
...
"I don't follow."
John hummed. "Are you familiar with Domino?"
"...The pizza brand?"
He snorted loudly. "Y-Yes, but also no. I mean the kingdom. The Kingdom of Domino was once considered the heart of Magix due to its importance. The rulers of that realm are King Oritel and Queen Marion, they had two daughters and thigns were happy until three of the worst villains in Magical History attacked all at once."
"W-Who were those that destroyed it?" Bloom asked, feeling that these names were familiar to her.
"Not destroyed, frozen. The battle saw corruption swallow the realm and petrify it with all its inhabitants," John corrected. "And to answer your question in proper order, the Ancestral Witches, Valtor and Mandragora. All of which no longer are active at the moment."
"I... I see."
...
"W-Wait, you didn't answer my question!"
He smiled. "I sure did, you just need to keep in mind the details I used."
The details, uh?
Bloom thought about it, and realized that out of the individuals introduced, only two made sense as her parents.
"Oritel and Marion- they had two daughters."
"The oldest was Daphne, the youngest was-" John tried to add, but... Bloom knew the truth now.
"Me."
"Yup. The attack was quite bad, and before you were caught by the petrification, your sister sent you away and you ended up on Earth."
...
"Th-That's a lot," She muttered, stare aimed down to the ground. "Like... a lot."
"Yup. Yet you wanted and deserved it. The earlier you get that info, the easier you can compute it."
"...Are they still alive? My parents and sister?"
John hummed. "You mentioned to Sky you had some young woman talking to you in your dreams. Maybe that's Daphne."
"Then they could be saved."
"It's possible, just not yet," John assured, soon he was packing things up. Light was appearing from the horizon as the new day was properly beginning. "You need to train, unlock more of your powers and you will definitely find the strength to free them yourself."
She nodded, hope swelling in her chest as she smiled. "Thank you. Y-You know, for telling me all of this."
"Heh, the oldies will always whine that others are not ready to stomach the truth, but you deserve this much. And don't bring it up to anyone unless you know they can keep it a secret. Last thing I need is to be lectured by your headmistress for giving you the answers you sought."
Beaming, Bloom nodded and soon she was walking back to her room. Her mind felt clearer, her heart was burning a tiny bit and yet she was tired. She was soon back to her bed, the balcony's door closed shut as she went to sleep for what few hours she had left. The alarm was set, so she didn't worry of waking up late.
And while she didn't get much sleep, she still found herself in some dreams about her being back in that sudden campfire experience. Once again at peace with the world, and talking with John for hours and hours...
AN
Bloom POV! And as the Patrons have spoken, this story that had been dormant for a year now is back!
